여성결혼이민자의 부모 부양의식과 관련 변인 연구 (Variables Related with Parental Caregiving Consciousness of Women Immigrants)

  • 이 연구는 여성결혼이민자를 대상으로 이들의 특성에 따른 부모 부양의식의 차이와 이에 영향을 주는 변인을 파악하고자 하였다. 여성결혼이민자 592명을 대상으로 설문을 통하여 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 여성결혼이민자의 신체적 및 경제적 부양의식은 거주지, 소득수준, 모국 부모 부양 희망, 모국 가족연락, 그리고 자조모임 참여에 따라 차이가 있었다. 반면 정서적 부양의식은 거주지, 소득수준, 부모동거, 모국 부모 부양희망, 자조모임 참여에 따라 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 중다회귀분석 결과 신체적 부양의식은 연령, 거주지, 가정소득, 모국 부모 부양희망, 모국가족과의 연락이 영향을 주는 변인이었으며, 경제적 부양의식은 연령, 거주지, 출신국, 배우자와의 연령차, 가정소득, 모국 부모 부양희망, 가족과의 연락이 영향하는 변인이었다. 정서적 부양의식은 거주지, 가정소득, 모국 부모 부양희망이 영향을 주는 변인으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 투입한 9개의 변인 중 모국 부모부양 희망이 3개의 종속변인 신체적, 경제적 및 정서적 부양의식 모두에 가장 영향력 있는 변인으로 나타났다.

  • 2001년 9.11테러 이후 테러의 피해 당사자인 미국은 그동안 국외 중심의 국가안전보장 전략에서 자국내에서의 안보에 대한 중요성을 재인식하고, 국토안보를 위한 대대적인 정책 변화를 추진하여 왔다. 본 논문에서는 국가차원의 종합적.체계적 대응전략이 미흡한 상태에서 발생한 1.25 인터넷 대란의 교훈을 되새겨 새로운 사이버안보관련 전략 수립이 절실한 시점에서, 911이후 미국의 국토안보를 위한 주요정책, 국토안보법의 성립경과, 국토안보법 중 사이버보안관련 부분을 고찰한다.

  • 세계 각국에서 개인 및 공공의 안전을 위하여 보다 강화된 국토안보 기술의 개발에 많은 투자를 하고 있으며, 우리의 경우 북한의 핵무기 개발을 둘러싼 국제적 긴장과 이로 인한 안보위협뿐만 아니라 최근 들어 문화재에 대한 화재 및 강력범죄의 증가 등으로 인해 국토안보의 중요성이 강화되고 있다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 강화되는 추세인 안전을 위한 국토안보 구현을 위해 관련 기술의 개발동향을 분석하고 연구하였다. 국토안보에 활용되는 과학기술 중 주요 기술로는 집적기술, 통합기술, 협력기술, 분류기술, 지능기술, 마이닝기술로 분류할 수 있으며, 테러 위협이 존재하는 한 관련 산업의 성장 잠재력은 높은 편이다. 따라서 국내 관련 업체들이 모든 분야에서 단시간 내에 관련 기술의 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해서는 안보관련 기술의 적극적인 개발과 인력확보 및 지원이 요구된다.

Being True to Oneself: Sewol Ferry Disaster and Homeland Politics of Korean Immigrants in Britain

  • After the tragic incident of the sinking of Sewol in spring 2014, Korean migrants in Britain began to hold street protests in London. These protestors condemned the Korean government for the lack of appropriate responses to the accident, and for its failure to conduct proper investigation on the issue. The small group of protestors held silent street protests every month at Trafalgar Square, despite not gaining much media coverage nor public attention. These migrants' almost three-year long protest outside their homeland is puzzling. Not only did they live in Britain for a long time to the extent that they regard the country as their second home, but they also exert scant amount of influence on the political landscape in South Korea. What can then account for these individuals' participation in activism related to their homeland politics? In this paper, we utilize the concept of 'moral identity' to explain the behaviors of Korean migrants involved in the street protests. These migrants had strong 'moral identity', which triggered a sense of responsibility to act when their cherished moral values were jeopardized. Korean migrants who possessed a strong sense of moral identity placed huge importance on living in accordance with their moral values. It is a way of upholding their self-esteem and sustaining their ideal self.

결혼이주여성의 한국음식문화 적응 경험 분석 (Analysis of Korean Dietary Life Adaptation of Married Female Immigrants)

  • Objectives: This study aims to investigate the married female immigrants' experience on Korean dietary life adaptation, especially identifying the symbolic meaning and nature of experiences. Methods: This study was conducted with six married female immigrants through an analysis of the qualitative materials which consisted of in-depth interviews, field notes and materials. Data was analyzed using Giorgi's phenomenological research methods. Results: The results were deduced as 116 significant statements, 17 formulated meanings (sub-theme), and 6 theme clusters. Six theme clusters comprised of lack of preliminary knowledge and information, conflict and support in relationships, Korean food culture which is different from homeland, adaptation attitudes of Korean food culture according to situation, sharing of homeland food culture, and practical difficulty and expectative service. The participants started Korean life in the dark about Korea and Korean food culture, so they were subjected to trial and error. The conflict between Korean mother-in-law and foreign daughter-in-law came from lack of consideration of daughter-in-law's cultural background. Some participants were hurt because of misunderstanding and nitpicking. They were learning about cooking method, ingredient, seasoning, table setting and manner. Some participants integrated Korean food culture and their homeland food culture. Some of them assimilated with Korean food culture. One of them maintained homeland food culture. The participants who adapted Korean food culture well could share homeland food amicably. They sometimes didn't apply the services which were offered by the government, because the services did not fit their needs. Some of them didn't know the usage route of the services or information. They had resistance about home teaching and it showed that outreach service was not always effective. Conclusions: This study suggested that it is necessary to develop a practical support plan which covers married female immigrants' real needs and system improvement measures.

하와이 배치 탄도미사일 방어용 레이더 (Homeland Defense Radar-Hawaii(HDR-H) for Anti-Ballistic Missile)

  • 미국은 직접적 잠재적 위협국에서 발사하는 탄도미사일 공격으로부터 본토를 방어하기 위해 탄도미사일 방어체계를 구축하여 운용하고 있다. 미사일 방어국(Missile Defense Agency)은 해상에서는 탄도미사일 방어체계가 탑재된 이지스함(Aegis BMD), Sea-Based X-band 레이더(SBX) 등을, 육상에서는 Ground-Based Interceptor(GBI), Early Warning 레이더, THAAD 등을 운용하고 있으며, 이에 추가하여 하와이에 탄도미사일 방어용 레이더(HDR-H)를 설치 할 예정이다. HDR-H가 전력화되면 아시아-태평양 지역에서의 탄도미사일 도발에 대한 대응 능력이 향상될 것으로 기대된다.

베트남 외국인 근로자의 문화적응 스트레스와 우울 (Acculturative Stress and Depression of Vietnamese Immigrant Workers in Korea)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between acculturative stress and depression of Vietnamese immigrant workers in Korea. Methods: The subjects were 230 Vietnamese immigrant workers residing legally in B or K City. Data were collected from July 12, 2014 to August 3, 2014, and were analyzed using the SPSS PASW 21.0 program. Results: The average level of acculturative stress was 2.91 and there were significant differences in the score according to whether to have a religion, the number of homeland friends, and Korean language skill. The average depression level of the subjects was 15.3 and the level was different significantly according to whether to have a religion, the number of homeland friends, salary, working hours, and Korean language skill. Acculturative stress and depression showed a significant positive correlation with each other. The influencing factors of depression were acculturative stress and the number of homeland friends. The most significant factor was acculturative stress. Conclusion: This result shows the necessity of various programs to diminish acculturative stress to control the depression of immigrant workers.

베트남 외국인 근로자의 직무 스트레스 영향요인 경로분석 (Validation of a Path Model of Vietnamese Migrant Workers' Occupational Stress)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to construct and verify a path model for the influencing factors on occupational stress of Vietnamese migrant workers in Korea. Methods: Participants were 193 Vietnamese migrant workers recruited from Foreign Workers Support Centers. Data were collected by a self-administered survey with copies of a Questionnaire written in Vietnamese. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients and path analysis using SPSS/WIN 23.0 and Amos 20.0 program. Results: Length of residence, homeland friends' and Korean colleagues'supports, and acculturation have been found to have significant direct effects on occupational stress of Vietnamese migrant workers. Meanwhile, Length of residence, homeland friends', Korean colleagues', and their families' supports showed indirect effects on their occupational stress. What had the greatest direct effect on occupational stress of Vietnamese migrant workers was Korean colleagues' support. Conclusion: For reducing occupational stress of Vietnamese migrant workers, it is necessary to strengthen their Korean colleagues' supports in work places. In addition, community organizations should take strategies to enhance homeland friends' supports and to improve acculturation of Vietnamese migrant workers.

Exploring Factors on Identity of Korean Diaspora: Perspectives of Millennial Generation

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the major factors affecting the development of national identity of the Millennial Korean diasporas in the CIS countries that have rarely been explored in previous studies. In particular, this study examines how perceived identities have changed due to social, cultural, and other environmental changes and suggests policy considerations accordingly. Research design, data, and methodology: This study collected data via online survey. Factor and regression analyses were applied for data analysis. Results: The findings of this study suggest a set of factors that is different from the factors generally known to affect the diasporic identities of diasporas. The results of this study provide policy implications to help them construct identities that could more positively define their diasporic lives and relationship with homeland. Conclusions: The factors of direct experiences, such as relationship with host societies and homeland experience, exhibited strong relationship with national identity and life satisfaction of the Millennial Korean diasporas in the CIS countries. The unique characteristics of the Millennials and the long history of separation from homeland showed different results. The results of this study suggest policy considerations in regard to the Millennial diasporas in the CIS countries.

예비전력 정예화 방안 (A scheme on strengthening of R.O.K reserved force)

  • Reserved forces of ROKA are in charge of replacement of TOE in the wartime and mission of rear area operation. But there is institutional inertia in the law and organization oriented to fill human resources rather than take mission. We need to prepare for the investment and arrangement of reserved forces as military power that would be replaced standing forces. In this portion, to reinforce reserve forces elite, First, efficient mobilization regulations and systems are suggested. I covered a maintenance of relevant mobilization ordinances which need to legislated and approved by national assembly for wartime and development of mobilization system which might lose the appropriate time for mobilization due to complicated declaration procedures and measures to overcome the panic at the initial stage of the war and organization and employment of nationwide transportation system and mobilization center. To ensure efficient resource management and mobilization of reserve forces with a number of approximately 3 million, there's a necessity of organization for integration and conciliation. To make it real, I suggested establishing and employing the mobilization center, on first phase, employ the mobilization center focusing on homeland divisions, on second phase, it is advisable to convert to national level mobilization system and develop to central mobilization center focusing on national emergency planning committee. During peacetime, in conjunction with Mobilization Cell, mobilization center can conduct resource survey and integrate and manage mobilization resources and take charge of mobilization training of subordinate units, and during wartime, in conjunction with mobilization coordination team and Cell, can ensure the execution of mobilization. Second, Future oriented reserve forces management system such as service system of reserve forces and support system of homeland defense operations. Current service and trainings of reserve forces by the year have very low connection, as it is very complex to manage the resources and trainings, and service and training lack the equity, re-establishment of service system is required. Also in an aspect of CSS and cultivation support for reserve forces, as the scope and limitation of responsibility between the armed forces and autonomous organization is obscure, conditions to conduct actual-fighting exercises are limited. Concentrated budgetting is extremely difficult because reserve forces training fields are scattered nationwide, and facilities and equipments are rapidly getting older. To improve all these, I suggest the organization of homeland defense battalion with a unit of "City-Gun-District" and supporting the local reserve forces. Conduct unit replacement or personal replacement for those who have finished their 1 or 2 years and homeland defense operation duty for those with 3-5 years for consistency and simplification. Third, I suggest Future oriented Reserved Training(FRT) and Training Center oriented training management to establish a reliable reserve training. Reserves carry out expansion of unit, conventional combat mission, homeland defense and logistics support during wartime, and actual-fighting exercise, and disaster relief, peace keeping activities. Despite diverse activities and roles, their training condition still stays definitely poor. For these reasons, Modernization of weapons and facilities through gradual replacement and procurement is essential to enhance mobilization support system.
