유아학급과 가정 맥락에서 유아의 사회적 상황에 대한 개념 비교 (Preschool Children's Conceptions of Social Situation at Home and in the Classroom)

  • The purpose of the present study was to determine and describe preschool children's conceptions of their social situation (moral, social-conventional, and personal situation) in the context of their homes and classrooms. The subjects of this study included 78 children who were enrolled in a kindergarten in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, Korea. The results of this study indicated that children were able to distinguish the difference between a classroom and the home using information of very concrete content when they conceptualized three social situations. In the socially-controlled domain (the moral and social-conventional), children recognized that a classroom was more restricted and rigid than the home, and they depended more heavily on the teachers' authority. By way of contrast, in the personal domain, they depended more heavily on parents, with whom they were more intimate, but who exerted authority in a stronger and more direct manner than the teachers.

  • The Purpose of this study was to examine the present situation and evaluation of Parent education programs after divorce in the USA. Divorce Education Programs for Divorcing Parents have been explosively developed and executed after 1990's in America, and the half of them are court-connected mandatory prevention programs. This paper analyses the social background of nationwide provision, the present situation, and evaluates the evaluation and future prospect of the programs. Finally the implications for the Korean society are suggested.

  • While Korean traditional culture considers it necessary that children support their parents, a new trend of silver support is expanding by the recent social change, the increase of women's working, and the reluctance to support the old people. However, the number of silver welfare facilities in Korea is short for the demand with limited selections of them. Based on the situation, the following results of the study what kind of policies Korea service for the old people in the USA where early stepped into the aging society: 1. provide specific and proper social-supporting service and facilities with charge or free for the old people to be able to select one of them, according to economic, physical and psychological situation of the old people; rather to prepare service and facilities for all the old people. 2. increasing community service support for the home-staying old people 3. the development of support program for the family of the old 4. the improvement of housing environment for the home-staying senior 5. prepare the housing alternatives for the senior would be home-like environment.

가정환경 아동듣기평가(CHILD) 부모용 설문지의 한국어 번역 및 적용 연구 (Translation and Adaptation of the Children's Home Inventory for Listening Difficulties (CHILD) into Korean)

  • 가정환경 아동듣기평가 (Children's Home Inventory for Listening Difficulties, CHILD)는 청각장애 아동의 가정환경에서의 듣기 어려움을 평가하기 위한 부모용 설문지로 임상에서 널리 사용되고 있는 도구이다. 본 연구의 목적은 CHILD를 한국어로 번역하고 국내의 인공와우 착용 유아 및 학령기 아동을 대상으로 실시함으로써 검사의 내적 신뢰도를 평가하고 아동의 가정환경 내 의사소통 및 청각 이해도를 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 국내 인공와우를 착용한 청각장애 아동의 부모 55명(유아 27명, 초등 28명)을 대상으로 한국어 버전 CHILD 부모용 설문지 검사를 실시하였다. 내적일치도를 확인하였으며, 연령대(유아, 초등)와 평가요인(조용한 상황, 소음 상황, 먼거리 상황, 사회적 상황, 미디어 상황)를 비교하기 위하여 혼합요인 반복측정 분산분석 및 사후분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 한국어 버전 CHILD의 전체 크론바흐 알파값은 .96(조용한 상황 .96, 소음 상황 .93, 먼 거리 상황 .82, 사회적 상황 .93)이었다. 연령대와 평가요인 간 상호작용은 유의하지 않았으나, 초등 연령대의 점수가 유아 연령대에 비해 모든 상황에서 유의미하게 높았다. 전체 연령대에서 조용한 상황 요인이 가장 높은 점수를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 유아와 초등 연령대 양쪽에서 가장 낮은 점수를 보인 것은 사회적 상황 요인이었으며 분석 결과, 인공와우 착용아동들은 사회적 상황이 다른 듣기 어려운 상황과 결합될 때 특히 어려워하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연에서 CHILD 부모용 설문지를 한국어로 번역하고 국내 임상에 적용한 결과는 유효하였으므로 한국어 버전 CHILD를 국내 가정환경에서 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 국내 외 연구의 과학적 태도 요소를 고찰하여 중요한 과학적 태도 요소를 선정하고, 학교 실험실 상황 및 사회, 가정 상황에서 과학적 태도를 묻는 문항을 개발하여, 중학생들의 학교, 가정, 사회 상황에 과학적 태도 차이가 있는지 알아보는 데 있다. 국내 외 연구의 과학적 태도 요소를 조사하여 학생들이 갖추어야 할 중요한 과학적 태도 요소로 개방성, 객관성, 계속성, 비판성, 신중성, 자진성, 정직성, 준비성, 협동성, 호기심을 선정하였다. 과학적 태도 측정 도구 개발의 타당성을 확보하기 위하여 '예비문항 제작 단계', '판단 단계', '타당도 검토 단계'로 진행하였고 선정한 과학적 태도 요소와 학교, 가정, 사회 상황을 고려한 과학적 태도 측정 도구를 개발하였다. 중학생들의 과학적 태도는 8학년이 7학년, 9학년에 비해 유의하게 낮고, 상황별 과학적 태도는 사회, 가정, 학교 상황으로 높고, 성별로 상황에 따른 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다.

미국 노인보호주택 거주자들의 '집'으로서의 속성에 관한 사례 연구 (Residents' Awareness of Assisted Living Facility(ALF) as a 'Home': Cases of Virginia, U.S.A.)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify housing attributes that make residents feel 'at home' in ALFs in Southwest Virginia. For this purpose, residents' needs, experiences, and opinions of the physical environment, the social environment and the organizational environments such as policies and programs of ALFs were identified. As a multi-case study, five ALFs in Southwest Virginia were studied using constant comparative methods of data analysis. In addition to face-to-face interviews with 25 residents and 5 administrators of five ALFs, observations were conducted with personal journal. Each facility was designed to be a single-family house or multi-family dwelling in outside appearance. Most of the respondents were satisfied with their current dwelling as a 'home' in terms of homelike attributes such as 'autonomy/ privacy', personalization,' safety and security,' services and care,' independence,' social interaction/friendship,' family support,' and 'rules and regulations.' In spite of high satisfaction with the facility, however, many people did not think of their current dwelling as a real 'home'. As the biggest difference between living in their own homes and living in the ALF, people feinted out a lack of independence and social interaction. Residents of ALFs may have reordered their priorities in their current life situation so that safety, security, and caie were more important to them than fooling "at home."

  • The purpose of this paper is to describe the situation of everyday life of women and men in Germany and gender related aspects. Therefore social demographical data, presented by the Office for European Statistics, Luxembourg and by German statistical data, are used. Based on this data the different roles, responsibilities, and social positions of women and men are interpreted in the context of the idea of mainstreaming gender. In comparison to other European countries, especially to the Scandinavian countries, the situation of women in Germany still has to be improved. It is a prevalent problem for women to arrange family life and working career, because the gender-related role-allocationis still an issue. Women, who are involved in looking after children, are significantly less engaged in business life, as for men caring does not make a difference, whether they are employed or not. In addition to this fact women on average earn less than men, especially for women working in higher positions. To improve the situation of women and men the German government has initiated a 'Gender Mainstreaming Policy' in 2000 and has taken important legal measures which make it possible to reconcile family-life and gainful employment. For Home Economists there is a need to integrate the gender dimension into a household analytical approach.

유아의 애착행동과 사회적 능력 및 대인문제해결력과의 관계 (The Relationships of Maternal Attachment, Social Competence and Interpersonal Cognitive Problem-Solving Skill in Kindergarten Children)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationships of maternal attachment, social competence and interpersonal cognitive problem-solving skill. fifty-four children aged 5 and 6 years and their mothers were observed and videotaped in a strange situation. Children were interviewed in order to assess interpersonal cognitive problem solving skill. teachers rated children's social development using modified ISCE(Iowa Social Competency Scale : Preschool Forma). The results showed that there were significant relationships of maternal attachment, social competence and interpersonal cognitive problem-solving skill. children of the secure attachment to mothers were greater social activator, cooperative, alternative solution thought and consequential thought. In contrast, children of insecure attachment to mother were less social activator and cooperative, and more hypersensitive and apprehensive. Children's social competence was related to the interpersonal cognitive problem-solving skill.

유아의 성에 따른 사회적 상황에 대한 개념과 반응 (Preschool Children's Conceptions of Social Situations and Their Responses by Children's Gender)

  • This study examined whether preschool children's meta-socialization (conceptions of social situations) and their responses differed according to the children's gender. The participants were 78 preschool children living in Seoul, Korea. The results showed gender differences in the children's conceptions of social situations and in their responses to social situations. Firstly, a girl's conceptual judgments about social situations were more developed and dependent on the teacher's authority. Secondly, the boys showed direct and physical responses, while girls showed indirect, linguistic, and emotional responses in moral and social-conventional situations. In addition, girls made more frequent responses to 'Choice Assertion' in personal situations than boys.

  • This study examined preschool children's conceptions of social situations and mothers' responses toward their children in the home context. Participants were 78 kindergarten children and their mothers living Seoul, Korea. Results indicated that children did not distinguish social-conventional situations from moral situations, but they clearly distinguished social-conventional and moral situations from personal situations. Mothers' reported that they would make indirect responses to children's behaviors in moral situations to highlight intrinsic consequences such as violating others' rights and happiness. In contrast, they said that they would make direct responses such as mentioning rules and manners in social-conventional situations. Mothers supported their children's choices in personal situations unless the situations were dangerous or detrimental to children's health.
