  • In this study, we fabricated white organic light emitting devices (WOLEDs) to use single emission layer, DPVBi with partially doped Rubrene. To realize white color, rubrene with 3.6% was partially doped with the gap from interface between DPVBi and hole transport layer NPD in a definite DPVBi layer. As the gap was increased, the intensity of orange peak grows less and less. The WOLED with gap of $5\;{\AA}$ has the best color stability and its color coordination is (0.345, 0.321) at 6V.

  • OLEDs are becoming established as a commercially viable flat panel display technology of choice of the $21^{st}$ century because of its lightweight, fast response time, lower thickness than LCD's and potentially low cost (1-2). For the OLEDs to function effectively, highly thermally stable materials, which offer high efficiency and long operational lifetimes are required. To achieve long lifetime, highly stable charge (both holes and electrons) transporters are essential. OLED-T provides these materials as well as fluorescent and phosphorescent dopants. This paper reports a unique patented hole injector (E9363) and an electron transporter (E246) that increases the lifetime and efficiency and reduces operating voltage. Further, an electron injector, EEI-101, which evaporates at a very low temperature of $300^{\circ}C$ as opposed to the conventional LiF, which requires $580^{\circ}C$, is also presented.

  • We report improved efficiency in blue electrophosphorescent organic light emitting diodes by introducing an interfacial exciton blocking layer between light emitting layer (EML) and hole transport layer (HTL). Iridium(III) bis [(4,6-di-fluorophenyl)- pyridinato -N,C2']picolinate (FIrpic) was used as blue phosphorescent dopant and JHK6-3 with carbazole and electron transporting group as host and also as the interfacial layer, resulting in drastic increase in quantum efficiency.

  • The purpose of this paper is to meausre the electrophotographic characteristics of double-layered organic photoreceptor and to evaluate an application for the laser beam printer drum. The characte carrier generation layer(CGL) of double-layered photoreceptor was fabricated with .tau.-H$_{2}$Pc which has high photosensitivity in the near-infrareed region(thickness is about 0.3.mu.m), and Oxadiazole derivative was chosen as a charge carrier transport layer(CTL) because of its high hole mobility. To observe the electrophotographic characteristics of the photoreceptor, we measured the charge acceptance, dark-decay ratio, residual potential after light irradiation. From the result of this study, proper thickness of CTL was about 10.mu.m. Also it's realized that electrophotographic characteristics of the photoreceptor were depend on the thickness of the CTL and the initial surface potential.

  • Indium tin oxide (ITO) was used as the top anode of top emission inverted organic light emitting diodes (TEIOLEDs). TEIOLEDs were fabricated by deposition of an aluminum bottom cathode, an N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1, 1'-diphenyl-4, 4 1'-diamine (TPD) hole transport layer, a tris-8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum ($Alq_3$) emission layer, and an ITO top anode sequentially. ITO was deposited by r.f. magnetron sputtering without $O_2$ flow during the deposition. After the deposition, the deposited ITO layer was kept under oxygen atmosphere for the oxidation. The characteristics of the TEOILED were affected significantly by the post-deposition oxidation condition.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to develope buffer materials by the plasma polymerization method. In this article the buffer materials, plasma poly thiophene(PPTh) is used to study the interface of eter/organic in organic light emitting diodes(OLED). The interface of meter/organic materials is the important and critical objectives in development of OLED. The hole transport layer was N,N'-dipheneyl-N, N'bis-(3-methypheneyl)-1,1'dipheneyl-4,4'-diamine (TPD); the host material of mission layer was 8-tris-hydroxyquinoline aluminium (Alq3). When PPTh was inserted between ITO and TPD, emission efficiency increased.

  • Medical catheter tubes are disposable devices that are inserted into the body cavities such as the pleura, trachea, esophagus, stomach, urinary bladder, ureter, or blood vessels for surgical procedures. Each hole of the inner tube is called a lumen, which is used as a passage for drug injections, waste discharge, polypus removal, blood transport, or injection of a camera or sensor. The catheter tube is manufactured by extrusion. The flow in the inner extrusion die affects the thickness and diameter of the tube. In the current study computer simulation of flow in an extrusion die for catheter tubing was performed. Velocity, pressure, shear rate, and shear stress were investigated and the die design was examined.

  • Red color light emitting diodes were fabricated using CdSe/CdS/ZnS quantum dots (QDs). Patterned indium-tin-oxide (ITO) was used as a transparent anode, and oxygen plasma treatment on a surface of ITO was performed. Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) was spin coated on the ITO surface as a hole injection layer. Then CdSe/CdS/ZnS QDs was spin coated and thermal treatment was performed for the cross-linking of QDs. TiO2 was coated on the QDs as an electron transport layer, and 150 nm of aluminum cathode was formed using thermal evaporator and shadow mask. The device shows a pure red color emission at 606 nm wavelength. Device characteristics will be presented in detail.

  • We demonstrated that the simple layered red phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes are possible to have high efficiency and low driving voltage without hole injection and transport layers. The simplified OLED shows the max. current efficiency, power efficiency and quantum efficiency of 26.3 cd/A, 20.7 lm/W and 16.7 %, respectively.

  • Thermal transfer of emitting layer from the donor film to the substrates depends on the physical interaction between the donor film, the emitting layer, and the hole-transport layer (HTL). The interfacial adhesion between the donor film and the EML, the cohesive force of the EML, and the interfacial adhesion between the EML and the HIL have to be optimized to achieve good LITI pattern quality. It was found that surface pretreatment of the donor plate was important on the laser induced thermal transfer of the emitting layer onto the HIL layer of the OLED devices.
