고속 병렬형 LM 이진 수열 발생기 (On a High-Speed Parallel-LM Binary Sequcence Generator)

  • LM 발생기는 합산 수열 발생기가 갖고 있는 최대 주기, 최대 근사 선형복잡도 및 최고 차수 상관면역도를 동시에 만족하는 발생기이며, 입출력 무상관 발생기이다. 본 논문에서는 LM 발생기를 고속화 구현하기 위하여 m-병렬 LM 수열 발생기(m-parallel LM-BSG, Lee-Moon Binary Sequence Generator)를 제안하였으며, m=8인 병렬 발생기(8-parallel LM-BSG)를 세부 설계한다. 기존의 스트림 암호와 비교할 때, 제안된 알고리듬은 같은 안전성을 유지하면서 속도가 m=8배 빨라짐을 알 수 있었다.

  • Flywheel Energy Storage System(FESS) consists of a high speed flywheel with an integral motor/generator suspended on non contact bearings and in an evacuated housing. Permanent magnet machines as the FESS motor/generator are a popular choice, since there are no excitation losses which means substantial increase in the efficiency. In this paper, the structural design method of rotor retainer for a high speed motor/generator are presented.

500W급 마이크로 가스터빈 발전기 회전체-베어링부의 단열 및 냉각 성능에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Thermal Insulation and Cooling for Rotor/Bearing Area in 500W Class Micro Gas Turbine Generator)

  • Development of long-term mobile energy sources for mobile robots or small-sized unmanned vehicles are actively increasing. The micro gas turbine generator (MTG) is a good candidate for this purpose because it has both of high energy density and high power density, and 500W class MTG is under development. The designed MTG can be divided into 2 main parts. One part consists of motor/ generator and compressor, and the other one consists of combustor, recuperator and turbine. 500W class MTG is designed to operate at ultra-high speed of 400,000 rpm in high turbine temperature over $700^{\circ}C$ to improve the efficiency. Because the magnetism of NdFeB permanent magnet for the motor/generator could be degraded if the temperature is over $150-200^{\circ}C$, MTG needs the thermal insulation to block the heat transfer from combustor/turbine side to motor/generator side. Moreover, the motor/generator is allocated to get the cooling effect from the rapid air flow by the compressor. This study presents the experimental results to verify whether the thermal insulator and air flow are effective enough to keep the motor/generator part in the low temperature less than $100^{\circ}C$. From the motoring test by using the high temperature test rig, it was confirmed that the motor/generator part could maintain the temperature less than $50^{\circ}C$ under the condition of 1.0 bar compressed air.

  • A dynamic stability analysis of a large interconnected power system takes much time even though the modern large computer is used because of the high order of the system dynamic equations. By the necessity of the low order power system models, a simplified power system model of the generator with the high speed solid state exciter is developed in this paper. The usefulness of the reduced model is confirmed by comparing its eigenvalues and the transient responses with those of the original model in the single machine to infinite bus power system.

  • This paper proposes high speed SRM drive system for blower with a new 4-level inverter and precise excitation position generator. For the high speed blower, a proper inverter and control method are proposed and the output characteristics are analyzed. In order to get a fast build-up and demagnetization of excitation a current, 4-level inverter system is proposed. The proposed 4-level inverter has additional charge capacitor, power switch and diode in the conventional asymmetric converter. The charged high voltage is supplied to the phase winding for fast current build-up, and demagnetization current is charged to additional capacitor of 4-level inverter. In addition, a precise excitation position generator can reduce turn-on and turn-off angle error according to sampling period of digital control system. The proposed high speed SRM drive system is verified by computer simulation and experimental result.

  • Electro-mechanical battery (EMB) consists of a high-speed fly wheel with an integral motor/ generator suspended on magnetic bearings and in an evacuated housing. Permanent magnet (PM) machines as the EMB motor/ generator are a popular choice, since there are no excitation losses which means substantial increase in the efficiency. In this paper we present the comparison of conventional slotted and slotless ring-wound types, aimed at EMB and other high-speed drives. We firstly discuss the topology of each machine for this particular application. these machines are primarily designed as 1kW two-pole PM generator with the rated speed of 40000 rpm. the motoring torque of 0.51 Nm has to be enough to accelerate the flywheel to the rated speed. We then present the comparison of the open-circuit field, the armature reaction field and winding inductance. next we analyze the induced voltage and the developed torque per unit stack length and unit weight of different machines. Finally, we estimate and compare the losses and the efficiency at motoring and generating modes.

  • This paper treated the design, manufacture and the performance characteristics under each mode of high speed motor/generator for an electro-mechanical battery(EMB). This machine is employed as an integral part of a flywheel energy storage system(FESS), i.e., a modular flywheel system to be used as a device for storing electrical or mechanical energy. In this machine, the magnetic field system is constructed by using special magnet array, dipole Halbach array with 16 permanent magnet segments and the armature is composed of a plastic bobbin and multi-phase windings with Litz wire. The magnet array produces a highly uniform dipole field without back iron. The motor/generator is 3-phase machine in which the dipole Halbach array surrounding the winding is rotating. Since there are no iron laminations, this field system offers some unique advantages for the simplicity of the design and the theoretical prediction of characteristics of a high speed electric machine. This paper describes the results obtained when EMB system was tested in the laboratory.

  • Nowadays high-cost energy storage system using flywheel or secondary battery is applying to hybrid generation system with WT(Wind Turbine) and diesel generator in island areas for stable operation. This paper proposes an operating algorithm and modeling method of the hybrid generation system that can operate for variable wind speed and load, which is composed of energy storage system, variable-speed PMSG(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator) WT and diesel generator applied in island areas. Initially, the operating algorithm was proposed for frequency and voltage to be maintained within the proper ranges for load and wind speed changes. Also, the modeling method is proposed for variable speed PMSG WT, diesel generator and BESS(Battery Energy Storage System). The proposed operating algorithm and modeling method were applied to a typical island area. The frequency and voltage was kept within the permissible ranges and the proposed method was proven to be appropriate through simulations.
