In August 2020, a debris flow occurred in Gokseon, Jeollanam-do, that resulted in the death of five residents. In this study area, high-resolution 0.03 m topographic information was generated through photogrammetry, and the amount of soil movement/loss was measured. In addition, sensitivity analysis was performed for flow depth, flow velocity, and debris flow area with the program Flo-2D using the difference in simulation parameter that discharge and topographic information. Wth increasing debris flow input discharge, increases were seen in flow depth, flow velocity, and debris flow area, as ell as in the gap in results from high-resolution topographic information and low-resolution topographic information. Also, when high-resolution topographic information was used, the results were similar to the actual (measured) flow direction of the debris flow. Therefore, the application of high-resolution topographic information increases the accuracy of the debris flow analysis results compared with low-resolution information. Results could be further imporved in the future by considering geological information such as yield stress and viscosity.
Flood caused by Typhoon and severe rain during summer is the most destructive natural disasters in Korea. Almost every year flood has resulted in a big lost of national infrastructure and loss of civilian lives. It usually takes time and great efforts to estimate the flood-related damages. Government also has pursued proper standard and tool for using state-of-art technologies. High resolution satellite imagery is one of the most promising sources of ground truth information since it provides detailed and current ground information such as building, road, and bare ground. Once high resolution imagery is utilized, it can greatly reduce the amount of field work and cost for flood related damage assessment. The classification of high resolution image is pre-required step to be utilized for the damage assessment. The classified image combined with additional data such as DEM and DSM can help to estimate the flooded areas per each classified land use. This paper applied object-oriented classification scheme to interpret an image not based in a single pixel but in meaningful image objects and their mutual relations. When comparing it with other classification algorithms, object-oriented classification was very effective and accurate. In this paper, IKONOS image is used, but similar level of high resolution Korean KOMPSAT series can be investigated once they are available.
This review paper describes the overall operating principle of a discrete-time delta-sigma modulator (DTDSM) and a continuous-time delta-sigma modulator (CTDSM) using a switched-capacitor (SC). In addition, research that has solved the problems related to each delta-sigma modulator (DSM) is introduced, and the latest developments are explained. This paper describes the chopper-stabilization technique that mitigates flicker noise, which is crucial for the DSM. In the case of DTDSM, this paper addresses the problems that arise when using SC circuits and explains the importance of the operational transconductance amplifier performance of the first integrator of the DSM. In the case of CTDSM, research that has reduced power consumption, and addresses the problems of clock jitter and excess loop delay is described. The recent developments of the analog front end, which have become important due to the increasing use of wireless sensors, is also described. In addition, this paper presents the advantages and disadvantages of the three-opamp instrumentation amplifier (IA), current feedback IA (CFIA), resistive feedback IA, and capacitively coupled IA (CCIA) methods for implementing instrumentation amplifiers in AFEs.

Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV) photogrammetry provides a cost-effective option for collecting high-resolution 3D point clouds compared with UAV LiDAR and aerial photogrammetry. The main objectives of this study were to (1) validate the accuracy of 3D site model generated, and (2) determine the differences between Digital Elevation Model(DEM) and Digital Surface Model(DSM). In this study, DEM and DSM were shown to have varying degree of accuracy from observed data. The results indicated that the model predictions were considered tend to over- and under-estimated. The range of RMSE of DSM predicted was from 8.2 and 21.3 when compared with the observation. In addition, RMSE values were ranged from 10.2 and 25.8 to compare between DEM predicted and field data. The predict values resulting from the DSM were in agreement with the observed data compared to DEM calculation. In other words, it was determined that the DSM was a better suitable model than DEM. There is potential for enabling automated topography evaluation of the prior-harvest areas by using UAV technology.
High-resolution satellite images at sub-5m footprint are becoming increasingly available to the earth observation community and their respective clients. The related cameras are all using linear array CCD technology for image sensing. The possibility and need for accurate 3D object reconstruction requires a sophisticated camera model, being able to deal with such sensor geometry. We have recently developed a full suite of new methods and software for the precision processing of this kind of data. The software can accommodate images from IKONOS, QuickBird, ALOS PRISM, SPOT5 HRS and sensors of similar type to be expected in the future. We will report about the status of the software, the functionality and some new algorithmic approaches in support of the processing concept. The functionality will be verified by results from various pilot projects. We put particular emphasis on the automatic generation of DSMs, which can be done at sub-pixel accuracy and on the semi-automated generation of city models.
Within the paper an approach for the automatic extraction and reconstruction of buildings in urban built-up areas base on fusion of high-resolution satellite image and LIDAR data is presented. The presented data fusion scheme is essentially motivated by the fact that image and range data are quite complementary. Raised urban objects are first segmented from the terrain surface in the LIDAR data by making use of the spectral signature derived from satellite image, afterwards building potential regions are initially detected in a hierarchical scheme. A novel 3D building reconstruction model is also presented based on the assumption that most buildings can be approximately decomposed into polyhedral patches. With the constraints of presented building model, 3D edges are used to generate the hypothesis and follow the verification processes and a subsequent logical processing of the primitive geometric patches leads to 3D reconstruction of buildings with good details of shape. The approach is applied on the test sites and shows a good performance, an evaluation is described as well in the paper.

Recently, global companies are developing the automobile technologies, converged with state-of-the-art IT technologies for the commercialization of autonomous vehicles. These autonomous vehicles are required the accurate lane information to enhance its reliability by controlling the vehicles safely. Hence, the study planned to examine possibilities of applying UAV photogrammetry of high-resolution images, obtained from the low altitudes. The high-resolution DSM and the ortho-images were generated from the GSD 7cm-level digital images that were obtained and based on the generated data, when the positions information of the roads including the lanes were extracted. In fact, the RMSE of verifying the extracted data was shown to be about 15cm. Through the results from the study, it could be concluded that the low alititude UAV photogrammetry can be applied for generating and updating a high-accuracy map of road areas.

DSM and orthoimage, which are representative results of UAV photogrammetry, are high-quality spatial information data and are widely used in various fields of spatial information industry in recent years. However, the UAV photogrammetry has a problem that the quality of the output of the UAV deteriorates due to the altitude of the UAV, the camera calibration, the weather conditions at the time of shooting, the performance of the GPS / IMU and the number of the ground reference points. The purpose of this study is to analyze the location accuracy of unmanned aerial photogrammetry according to the change of the number if ground control points. Experiments were made with fixed wing, and the shooting altitude was set at 130m and 260m. The number of ground reference points used was 9, 8, 5, and 4, respectively. Ten checkpoints were used. XY RMSE for orthoimage and Z RMSE for DSM were compared and analyzed. In addition, the resolution of the orthoimage was determined to affect the judgment of the operator in the verification of the planimetric position accuracy, and the visual resolution was analyzed using the Siemens star target. As a result of the analysis, the variation of the vertical position accuracy is larger than the variation of the planimetric position accuracy when the number of the ground reference points are different. Also The higher the flying height, the greater the effect of change of ground control points on position accuracy.
Purpose: UAV-based photo measurements are being researched using UAVs in the space information field as they are not only cost-effective compared to conventional aerial imaging but also easy to obtain high-resolution data on desired time and location. In this study, the UAV-based high-resolution images were used to perform the land cover classification. Method: RGB cameras were used to obtain high-resolution images, and in addition, multi-distribution cameras were used to photograph the same regions in order to accurately classify the feeding areas. Finally, Land cover classification was carried out for a total of seven classes using created ortho image by RGB and multispectral camera, DSM(Digital Surface Model), NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), GLCM(Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix) using RF (Random Forest), a representative supervisory classification system. Results: To assess the accuracy of the classification, an accuracy assessment based on the error matrix was conducted, and the accuracy assessment results were verified that the proposed method could effectively classify classes in the region by comparing with the supervisory results using RGB images only. Conclusion: In case of adding orthoimage, multispectral image, NDVI and GLCM proposed in this study, accuracy was higher than that of conventional orthoimage. Future research will attempt to improve classification accuracy through the development of additional input data.

In this paper, we propose a method aiming at updating the building information of the digital maps using single high resolution satellite image and digital map. Firstly we produced a digital orthoimage through the automatic co-registration of QuickBird image and 1:1,000 digital map. Secondly we extracted building height information through the template matching of digital map's building vector data and the image's edges obtained by Canny operator. Finally we refined the shape of some buildings by using the result from template matching as the seed polygon of the greedy snake algorithm. In order to evaluate the proposed method's effectiveness, we estimated accuracy of the extracted building information using LiDAR DSM and 1:1,000 digital map. The evaluation results showed the proposed method has a good potential for extraction and revision of building information.
