The aim of the present work is to present a computational study of the non-linear aero-elastic behavior of a multi-layered Thermal Protection System (TPS). The severity of atmospheric re-entry conditions is due to the combination of high temperatures, high pressures and high velocities, and thus the aero-elastic behavior of flexible structures can be difficult to assess. In order to validate the specific computational model and the overall strategy for structural and aerodynamics analyses of flexible structures, the simplified TPS sample tested in the 8' High Temperature Tunnel (HTT) at NASA LaRC has been selected as a baseline for the validation of the present work. The von $K{\acute{a}}rm{\acute{a}}n^{\prime}s$ three dimensional large deflection theory for the structure and a hybrid Raleigh-Ritz-Galerkin approach, combined with the first order Piston Theory to describe the aerodynamic flow, have been used to derive the equations of motion. The paper shows that a good description of the physical behavior of the fabric is possible with the proposed approach. The model is further applied to investigate structural and aero-elastic influence of the number of the layers and the stitching pattern.
The estimation of springing responses for recent ships is carried out, and application to a ship design is described. To this aim, springing effects on hull girder were re-evaluated, including non-linear wave excitations and torsional vibrations of the hull. The Timoshenko beam model was used to calculate stress distribution on the hull girder, using the superposition method. The quadratic strip method was employed to calculate the hydrodynamic forces and moments on the hull. In order to remove the irregular frequencies, we adopted 'rigid lid' on the hull free surface level, and addedasymptotic interpolation along the high frequency range. Several applications were carried out on the following existing ships: The Bishop and Price's container ship, S-175 container ship, large container, VLCC, and ore carrier. One of them is compared with the ship measurement result, while another with that of the model test. The comparison between the analytical solution and the numerical solution for a homogeneous beam-type artificial ship shows good agreement. It is found that Most springing energy comesfrom high frequency waves for the ships having low natural frequency and North Atlantic route etc. Therefore, the high frequency tail of the wave spectrum should be increased by $\omega$$\^{-3}$ instead of $\omega$$\^{-4}$ or $\omega$$\^{-5}$ for the springing calculation.
It is a normal circumstance to have high temperature and high humidity in Greenhouses even though these climates are changed by the area, season, climates, the size of the greenhouse, and the crops being raised. Workers in the greenhouses have complained about their uncomfortable work environment and discomfort from the hot conditions, including sunburn. The farmers' ailments are not significantly different between those working in the in greenhouses and those working in the fields. The Farmers' syndrome was almost two times higher for women than those of men for greenhouse workers. This study was developed for functional fatigue clothes for plastic greenhouses which are known for high temperatures and humidity. The ergonomic function and thermal comforts of fatigue clothes were evaluated in the climatic chamber($30.0^{\circ}C$, 70.0%R.H.). The current fatigue clothes which are made of cotton or nylon were purchased at the market. The developed clothes are made of highly absorbent and high speed drying polyester. And these fabrics have excellent elasticity. In this study, the functional fatigue clothes were designed with longsleeved sport shirts and Full length pants. Tre, Tsk, Hcl, HR and the personal subjective sensations such as heat, humidity, and comfortableness were significantly lower when subjects wore the developed clothes made with polyester than the previous attire.

This study investigates the engineering properties of concrete incorporating lime stone crushed fine aggregate(Ls), which has been abandoned about 20% of total production due to the low purity. Test results showed that increase of Ls had favorable fluidity and slightly decreased air content. Bleeding capacity of all specimens was not appeared as those were high strength mixture proportion, but the specimens using more Ls accelerated initial and final setting. For the mechanical properties, specimens incorporating higher ratio of Ls, overall, resulted in increase of compressive strength, and exhibited very small inclined tendency in a dynamic elasticity modulus test In addition, for the durability properties, specimens incorporating higher Ls dramatically decreased a drying shrinkage and showed similar tendency in a frost & thaw test, as well as showing no more change in an accelerated neutralization test from the beginning. In conclusion, as it was confirmed in the experimental test, the high strength concrete applying Ls did not showed any problems in the aspects of engineering properties and mostly exhibited even more excellent quality than the specimens using natural fine aggregate.

For the time integration solution of the impulsive dynamic contact problem of high-speed rotating disks formulated by the finite element technique, the velocity and acceleration contact constraints as well as the displacement contact constraint are imposed for the numerical stability without spurious oscillations. The solution of the present technique is checked by the numerical simulation using the concentric high-speed rotating disks with the clearance and impulsive loading. It is shown that the almost steady state solution agrees with the corresponding analytical solution of the elasticity and that the differentiated constraints are crucial for the numerical stability of such high-speed contact problems of the disks under impulsive loading.
A high-resolution camera is a precise optical system. Its vibrations during transportation and launch, together with changes in temperature and gravity field in orbit, lead to different degrees of defocus of the camera. Thermal refocusing is one of the solutions to the problems related to in-orbit defocusing, but there are few relevant thermal refocusing mathematical models for systematic analysis and research. Therefore, to further research thermal refocusing systems by using the development of a high-resolution micro-nano satellite (CX6-02) super-resolution camera as an example, we established a thermal refocusing mathematical model based on the thermal elasticity theory on the basis of the secondary mirror position. The detailed design of the thermal refocusing system was carried out under the guidance of the mathematical model. Through optical-mechanical-thermal integration analysis and Zernike polynomial calculation, we found that the data error obtained was about 1%, and deformation in the secondary mirror surface conformed to the optical index, indicating the accuracy and reliability of the thermal refocusing mathematical model. In the final ground test, the thermal vacuum experimental verification data and in-orbit imaging results showed that the thermal refocusing system is consistent with the experimental data, and the performance is stable, which provides theoretical and technical support for the future development of a thermal refocusing space camera.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of on-farm management systems(including the farm size, stocking density of growing-finishing phase, proportion of finisher diet and type of growing-finishing building) and pre-slaughter handling(including the transportation time and loading time) on carcass grade, the incidence of PSE pork, the meat quality score for intra-muscle fat, inter-muscle fat, subcutaneous fat and score for elasticity of market pigs. For this study, 248,787 pigs of 53 different farms were used to establish the pork quality assurance program and to meet the comsumer's need. The results are summarized as follows. 1. The farm size had significant influence on carcass grade, in which showing the higher grade by increasing the farm size. However, the incidence of PSE pork were not significantly differences among the farm size. The meat quality score for intra-muscle fat, inter-muscle fat, subcutaneous fat and score for elasticity of market pigs were not significant influenced by farm size. 2. The stocking density of growing-finishing phase was statistically significant for carcass grade, in which showing the higher grade in mid density group. However, the incidence of PSE pork was higher in high density group. The meat quality score for intra-muscle fat, inter-muscle fat and elasticity of market pigs were greater in mid density groups, but not influenced by stocking density for subcutaneous fat score. 3. The carcass grade and the incidence of PSE pork were not significantly influenced by transportation time. However, transportation time significantly affected the meat quality score, the meat quality score for intra-muscle fat, inter-muscle fat, subcutaneous fat and elasticity of the carcasses were superior in more than 1 hour transportation groups. 4. At any time loading, the carcass grade and PSE incidence were not significantly differences. However, the meat quality score for intra-muscle fat, inter-muscle fat and elasticity of market pigs were superior in before 10 AM groups, but not influenced by loading time for subcutaneous fat score. 5. The proportion of finisher diet had not significant influence on carcass grade, but PSE incidence affected by proportion of finisher diet, 21 percent or more group was higher PSE incidence. The meat quality score for intra-muscle fat and inter-muscle fat of the carcasses were superior in 21 percent or more fed finisher diet groups, but elasticity score of carcass had not influenced by the proportion of finisher diet. 6. The type of growing-finishing building was affected the carcass grade and PSE incidence of the market pigs, carcass grade and PSE incidence were superior in enclosed mechanical ventilation building groups. The meat quality score for intra-muscle fat and inter-muscle fat of the carcasses were not significantly differences by the type of finishing building, but the score of subcutaneous fat and elasticity of carcass were superior in opened natural ventilation building groups. In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that we have more precise on-farm management practice and the knowledge related to pre-slaughter handling skills to reduce the stress and improve the status of welfare of market pigs.
Statement of problem: Many kinds of post and core systems are in the market, but there are no clear selection criteria for them. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the flexural strength and modulus of elasticity of core materials, and measure the bending strength of post systems made of a variety of materials. Material and Methods: The flexural strength and elastic modulus of thirteen kinds core buildup materials were measured on beams of specimens of $2.0{\times}2.0{\times}24{\pm}0.1mm$. Ten specimens per group were fabricated and loaded on an lnstron testing machine at a crosshead speed of 0.25mm/min. A test span of 20 mm was used. The failure loads were recorded and flexural strength calculated with the measured dimensions. The elastic modulus was calculated from the slopes of the linear portions of the stress-stram graphs. Also nine kinds commercially available prefabricated posts made of various materials with similar nominal diameters, approximately 1.25mm, were loaded in a three-point bend test until plastic deformation or failure occurred. Ten posts per group were tested and the obtained data were anaylzed with analysis of variance and compared with the Tukey multiple comparison tests. Results: Clearfil Photo Core and Luxacore had flexural strengths approaching amalgam, but its modulus of elasticity was only about 15% of that of amalgam. The strengths of the glass ionomer and resin modified glass ionomer were very low. The heat pressed glass ceramic core had a high elastic modulus but a relatively low flexural strength approximating that of the lower strength composite resin core materials. The stainless steel, zirconia and carbon fiber post exhibited high bending strengths. The glass fiber posts displayed strengths that were approximately half of the higher strength posts. Conclusion: When moderate amounts of coronal tooth structure are to be replaced by a post and core on an anterior tooth, a prefabricated post and high strength, high elastic modulus core may be suitable. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS In this study several newly introduced post and core systems demonstrated satisfactory physical properties. However when the higher stress situation exists with only a minimal ferrule extension remaining a cast post and core or zirconia post and pressed core are desirable.

This study presents basic information on the mechanical properties and long-term deformations of high-strength steel fiber reinforced concrete(HSFRC). The Influence of steel fiber on modulus of elasticity, compressive, splitting tensile and flexural strength, and drying shrinkage and creep of HSFRC are investigated, and flexural fracture toughness is evaluated. Test results show that Test results show that the effect of steel fibers on the compressive strength is negligible, and the modulus of elasticity of HSFRC increased with the increase of fiber volume fraction. And the effect of fiber volume fraction($V_f$) and aspect ratio($l_f/d_f$) on tensile strength, flexural strength and toughness is extremely prominent. It is observed that the flexural deflection corresponded to ultimate load increased with the increase of $V_f$ and $l_f/d_f$, and due to fiber arresting cracking, the shape of the descending branch of load-deflection tends towards gently. Also, the effect of addition of various amounts of fiber on the creep and shrinkage is obvious. Especially, the effect of adding fibers to high-strength concrete is more pronounced in reducing the drying shrinkage than the creep.
