We report on the simple preparation method of large-scale structured catalysts by temperature-regulated chemical vapor deposition with a high cell-density ceramic honeycomb monolith. And the feasibility for dry reforming of methane catalysts was evaluated. The NiO/Cordierite (CDR) catalyst was prepared by controlling coating conditions at each temperature step, leading to a conformal deposition of NiO inside the cordierite honeycomb monolith with the cell density of 600 cpsi. The catalytic conversion of $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ for dry reforming of methane were about 83% and 90% with gas hourly space velocity of $10,000h^{-1}$ at $800^{\circ}C$, respectively. As a result, it exhibited that the temperature-regulated chemical vapor deposition method can be expedient for the preparation of large-scale structured catalysts.

The objective of this study is to develop a 3D DMFC model for modeling gas evolution and flow patterns to design optimal flow field for gas management. The gas management on the anode side is an important issue in DMFC design and it greatly influences the performance of the fuel cell. The flow field is tightly related to gas management and distribution. Since experiment for the optimal design of various flow fields is difficult and expensive due to high bipolar plate cost, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is implemented to solve the problem. A two-fluid model was developed for CFD based flow field design. The CFD analysis is used to visualize and to analyze the flow pattern and to reduce the number of experiments. Case studies of typical flow field designs such as serpentine, zigzag, parallel and semi-serpentine type illustrate applications of the model. This study presents simulation results of velocity, pressure, methanol mole fraction and gas content distribution. The suggested model is verified to be useful for the optimal flow field design.

The long-term stability of PSCs against visual and UV light, moisture, electrical bias and high temperature is an important issue for commercialization. In particular, since the operation temperature of solar cell can rise above 85℃, a study on thermal stability is required. In this study, the cause of thermal-induced degradation of PSCs was investigated using the SCAPS-1D simulation tool. First, PSCs of TiO2/CH3NH3PbI3/Spiro-OMeTAD/Au structure were exposed to a constant temperature of 85℃ to observe changes in conversion efficiency and quantum efficiency. Because the EQE reduction above 500 nm was remarkable, we simulated PSCs performance as a function of lifetime, doping density of perovskite and spiro-OMeTAD. Consequently, the main cause of thermal-induced degradation is considered to be the change in the perovskite doping concentration and lifetime due to ion migration of perovskite.

The purpose of this study was to validate the EFDC model for the weir pool of Gangjeong-Goryong Weir located in Nakdong River, and evaluate the effect of flow control and phosphate loading reduction on the water quality and algae biomass by group (Diatom, Green, Cyanobacteria). As a result of model validation using 2018 experimental data, the time series of water level and vertical distribution of water temperature, DO, organic matter, nitrogen, and phosphorus time series were properly simulated. Seasonal fluctuations of algae biomass by group were adequately reproduced, but the deviations between measured and simulated values were significant in some periods. As a result of scenario simulations to control the water level and flow rate, the thermal stratification was resolved as the water level was lowered and the flow rate increased. The flow velocity at which the water temperature stratification was resolved was about 0.1 m/s, which is consistent with the previous study results of Baekje Weir in Geum River. Simulations of the 2Q flow scenario showed that Chl-a decreased by 8.7% and the cell density of diatom and green algae declined. The cell density of cyanobacteria increased, however, because the high concentrations of cyanobacteria in the upstream boundary conditions directly affected downstream due to increased flow velocity. In the scenario simulation of reducing the influent phosphate load concentration (average 0.056 mg/L) to 50%, Chl-a decreased by 13.6%.The results suggest that the upstream algae concentration and phosphorus load reduction should be considered simultaneously with hydraulic control to prevent algal overgrowth of Gangjeong-Goryong Weir.
To understand the basic physics underlying large spatial fluctuations of intensity and Doppler shift, we have investigated the dynamical charctersitics of the transition region of the quiet sun by analyzing a raster scan of high resolution UV spectral band containing H Lyman lines and a S VI line. The spectra were taken from a quiet area of $100'\times100'$ located near the disk center by SUMER on board SOHO. The spectral band ranges from 906 A to 950 A with spatial and spectral resolution of 1v and $0.044 {\AA}$, respectively. The parameters of individual spectral lines were determined from a single Gaussian fit to each spectral line. Then, spatial correlation analyses have been made among the line parameters. Important findings emerged from the present analysis are as follows. (1) The integrated intensity maps of the observed area of H I 931 line $(1\times10^4 K)$ and S VI 933 line $(2\times10^5 K)$ look very smilar to each other with the same characterstic size of 5". An important difference, however, is that the intensity ratio of brighter network regions to darker cell regions is much larger in S VI 933 line than that in H I 931 line. (2) Dynamical features represented by Doppler shifts and line widths are smaller than those features seen in intensity maps. The features are found to be changing rapidly with time within a time scale shorter than the integration time, 110 seconds, while the intensity structure remains nearly unchanged during the same time interval. (3) The line intensity of S VI is quite strongly correlated with that of H I lines, but the Doppler shift correlation between the two lines is not as strong as the intensity correlation. The correlation length of the intensity structure is found to be about 5.7' (4100 km), which is at least 3 times larger than that of the velocity structure. These findings support the notion that the basic unit of the transition region of the quiet sun is a loop-like structure with a size of a few $10^3 km$, within which a number of unresolved smaller velocity structures are present.
Abstract Wireless mobile communications is developed from the only single voice traffic sevice to multimedia sevices. And mobile communications will evolve IMT-2000, which is provide users with high quality multimedia services. A radius of cell is gradually reduced to accept many service users and transport the multimedia traffics. Therefore, a overhead of location tracking and handover processing are increased. Then to guarantee high QoS to service users in wireless mobile communications, efficient handover algorithm is very important issue. In this study, we propose a H-PS(Hybrid-Priority Scheme) handover scheme considering mobility and traffic characteristics in IMT-2000 networks. And performance evaluate using simulation.

The interest in water gas shift (WGS) reaction has grown significantly, as a result of the recent advances in fuel cell technology and the need to develop small-scale fuel processors. Recently, researchers have tried to overcome the disadvantages of the commercial WGS catalysts. As a consequence, supported Pt catalysts have attracted a lot of researchers due to high activity and stability for WGS at low temperatures. In this study, $Pt-Na/Ce_{(1-x)}Zr_{(x)}O_2$ catalysts with various Ce/Zr ratio have been applied to WGS at a gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) of $45,515h^{-1}$. According to TPR patterns of $Pt-Na/Ce_{(1-x)}Zr_{(x)}O_2$ catalysts, the reducibility increases with decreasing the $ZrO_2$ content. As a result, Cubic structure $Pt-Na/Ce_{(1-x)}Zr_{(x)}O_2$ catalysts exhibited higher CO conversion than tetragonal structure $Pt-Na/Ce_{(1-x)}Zr_{(x)}O_2$ catalysts. Expecially, Pt-Na/$CeO_2$ exhibited the highest CO conversion as well as 100% selectivity to $CO_2$. Moreover, Pt-Na/$CeO_2$ catalyst showed relatively stable activity with time on stream. The high activity of cubic structure Pt-Na/$CeO_2$ catalyst was correlated to its higher oxygen storage capacity (OSC) of $CeO_2$ and easier reducibility of Pt/$CeO_2$.
To treat a waste gas containing a high strength H2S, the two-stages microbial desulfurization process that conof a bioreactor immobilized with Acidithiobacillusferrooxidans and a chemical absorption scrubber has was proposed. After 4 times repeat of batch cultures, the immobilized bioreactor has been stabilized and the rate of iron oxidation reached 0.89 kg . $m^{-3}{\cdot}m^{-1}$ at steady state. The two-stages microbial desulfurization prowas able to be operated for a long term over 54 days. The removal efficiencies of H2S were 97-99% at a space velocity of 70 h-I and a inlet concentration of 37,000 ppmv. The maximum elimination capacity of H2S was approximately 3.3 kg S . $m^{-3}{\cdot}m^{-1}$. In the bioractor, the concentrations of the $Fe^{3+}$ and the immobilzed cell were constantly maintained during the desulfurization.
Solar grade silicon (SoG-Si) has been commercially supplied mainly from off-grade high-purity silicon manufactured for electronic-grade Si (EG-Si). Therefore, for wider application of solar cells, the development of a refining process at a considerably lower cost is required. The most cost-effective and direct approach for producing SoG-Si is to purify and upgrade metallurgical-grade Si (MG-Si). In this study, directional solidification of molten MG-Si was conducted in a high-frequency induction furnace to remove iron from molten Si. The experimental conditions and results were also discussed with respect to the effective segregation coefficient, Scheil equation, and Peclet number. The study showed that when the descent velocity of the specimen decreased, the macro segregations of impurities and ingot purities increased. These results were derived from the decrease in the effective segregation coefficient with the decrease in the rate of descent of the specimen.

Bubbles generated in water receive an upward buoyant force due to the density and pressure difference of the surrounding fluid. Additionally, the behavior, shape, and heat exchange process of bubbles vary depending on the viscosity, surface tension, rising speed, and size difference with the surrounding fluid. In this study, we modeled speed, and heat transfer of a high-temperature single bubble rising in a cylindrical water tank. For this purpose, velocity, and temperature of the bubbles were calculated using theoretical equations, to be compared with numerical simulation results. The numerical analysis was performed using a commercial software, and the stability of the numerical analysis with mesh size was confirmed through calculation of the grid convergence index. The numerical analysis of the rising speed and temperature of a single bubble showed the values to converge when the minimum cell size was 1/160 of the bubble diameter, and the temperature decrease was confirmed to be the same as that of the surrounding fluid within 0.05 seconds.
