Long-term continuous data were used to investigate changes in air and water temperature and temperature hysteresis at Lake Paldang, the largest source of drinking water in South Korea. Based on the temperatures at Yangpyeong, near Lake Paldang, using a seasonal Mann-Kendall test, the rate of change of increase in temperature over the last 27 years (0.060℃/yr, 1993-2019) was higher than that of during 47 years (0.048℃/yr, 1973-2019). The air and water temperatures in Lake Paldang and its influent rivers had a high correlation (R > 0.9, p < 0.005); however, the water temperature increased at rate slower than the river water temperature, and the water temperature decreased slowly as the air temperature fell. The depth-averaged water temperature also changed more slowly than the surface water of the lake both when the air temperature was high and when it was low. This is likely because the lake has a larger area and a longer heat retention time than rivers, resulting in a greater hysteresis of water temperature at lake.
To know if small changes in rearing water temperature and density affect the number of bacterial and fungal colonies in metamorphosed frogs, Dybowski's frog tadpoles were reared from Gosner 25-26 stages at either low ($1^{\circ}C$ low to ambient water temperature), ambient, or high ($1^{\circ}C$ high) water temperature (each 15 tadpoles in 20 L water) condition and at either low (10 tadpoles/20 L water), medium (20 tadpoles), or high (30 tadpoles) density condition. Immediately after metamorphosis, we sampled bacteria and fungi from skin, liver, and heart of six metamorphosed frogs, randomly selected for each treatment group. After separate incubation of bacteria and fungi on 3M Petrifilm plates, we counted the number of bacterial and fungal colonies appeared on the plates and compared the numbers among the temperature and density treatment groups. For temperature treatment, high-temperature group had fewer bacterial colonies, while low-temperature group had more fungal colonies than the other two groups. For density treatment, low-density group had fewer bacterial colonies than the other two groups, but the number of fungal colonies were not different among the groups. Our results suggest that small increased rearing water temperature and lowered rearing density could potentially reduce pathogens in farming frogs.
Reproductive cycle of natural population and artificial control experiments of gonadal development by the conditions of water temperatures-feeding and starvation of Ruditapes philippinarum were investigated by histological observations. The reproductive cycle of natural population in females and males can be categorized into five successive stages; early active (February to March), late active (April to May), ripe (April to August), partially spawned (May to October), and spent-inactive stage (August to March). In the artificial control experiments, gonadal development of this species was inhibited by the low water temperature (10$^{\circ}C$). In the experimental group which was exposed to artificial high water temperatures of 19$^{\circ}C$ and 22$^{\circ}C$, gonadal development was accelerated by the higher water temperatures and was faster (about one month) than that in natural populations. In the high water temperatures-feeding experimental group, the gonadal developmental phase was faster in the small-size group than that in the large-size group, and was faster in lower water temperature (10$^{\circ}C$)(p=0.01). The gonad developmental phases in the high water temperature (22-28$^{\circ}C$)-starvation experimental group showed faster (paired sample t-test, p=0.004) than those in the high water temperature-feeding group in females and males. In the high water temperature-feeding experimental group of female and male gonadal developments of small sized group were more sensitive than those in large sized group after 42 days cultivation, However, the gonadal development of male was more sensitive to the lower water temperature than female. On the whole, sexual maturation in the high water temperature experimental group was faster than those in the low water temperature group, and showed a significant difference (paired sample t-test, p=0.001) between female and male. In the starvation experimental group after 42 days, gonadal developments in the high water temperature-large male group showed faster than those in the high water temperature-large female group. However, in small size, gonad developmental phases showed the same pattern between feeding and starvation experimental groups. During the main spawning season, in the high water temperature-starvation experimental groups in females and males, their gonadal development showed faster than that in higher water temperature-feeding experimental group regardless of their sexes and individual sizes and showed a significant difference (paired sample t-test, p=0.004).
Laser means "Light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation". Laser have unique characteristics according to wavelength. Wavelenth of Waterlase is 2780nm and it can be absorbed to water and hydroxyapatite. When laser is applied to some material, its temperature goes up due to laser's energy. But in dental treatment high temperature is not good for teeth. High temperature can make dental pulp and bone necrosis. Waterlase can be absorbed to water droplet, so when it burst, it can cut soft and hard tissue without raising temperature. so it is so proper to dental treatment.
This paper presents the effects of high temperature and water absorption on the mechanical behaviors of carbon-aramid fiber composites, specifically their strength, elastic modulus, and fracture. These composites are used in industrial structures because of their high specific strength and toughness. Carbon fiber composites are vulnerable to the impact force of external objects despite their excellent properties. Aramid fibers have high elongation and impact absorption capabilities. Accordingly, a hybrid composite with the complementary properties and capabilities of carbon and aramid fibers is fabricated. However, the exposure of aramid fiber to water or heat typically deteriorates its mechanical properties. In view of this, tensile and flexural tests were conducted on a twill woven carbon-aramid fiber hybrid composite to investigate the effects of high temperature and water absorption. Moreover, a multiscale analysis of the stress behavior of the composite's microstructure was implemented. The results show that the elastic modulus of composites subjected to high temperature and water absorption treatments decreased by approximately 22% and 34%, respectively, compared with that of the composite under normal conditions. The crack behavior of the composites was well identified under the specimen conditions.
In this study, the performance of the simultaneous heating & cooling water making system using R134a was investigated by simulation. The most important effect upon heating COP was intermediate pressure depending on input water temperature. With the input water temperature of $10^{\circ}C\;and\;20^{\circ}C$, optimum intermediate pressure were 923 and 1040kPa, respectively. At that optimum intermediate pressure, the maximum heating COP of the system operated between $0^{\circ}C$ evaporating temperature and $70^{\circ}C$ condensing temperature were 4.15 and 3.83. With installation of the subcoolers in high or low pressure section, the system COP was increased by reducing the refrigerant mass flow rate. Under the optimum pressure and $10^{\circ}C$ input water temperature, it was found that heating COP was maximized when the low-subcooler and high-subcooler capacity rate were taken by 14% and 13%, respectively.

In this study, to apply hydrogen energy to ship engine and to generate effective hydrogen production, we investigated the effects of high temperature $H_2SO_4$ feed rate and cooling water rate to pump parts with fixed frequency needed to reciprocate motion and a simulation was conducted at each condition. In the fixed frequency and cooling water inlet flow rate of 0.5 Hz and 3.9 kg/s, we changed the high temperature $H_2SO_4$ flow rate to 47.46 kg/s (it is 105 % of 45.2 kg/s), 49.72 kg/s (110 %), and 51.98 kg/s (115 %). Also, at 0.5 Hz and 45.2 kg/s of frequency and high temperature $H_2SO_4$ flow, the thermal hydraulic analysis was performed at the condition of 95 % (3.705 kg/s), 90 % (3.51 kg/s), and 85 % (3.315 kg/s). In overall simulation cases, the physical properties of materials are more influential to the temperature increase in the pump part rather than the changes on the feed rate of high temperature $H_2SO_4$ and cooling water. A continuous operation of pump was also capable even if the excess feed of high temperature $H_2SO_4$ of about 15 % or the less feed of cooling water of about 15 % were performed, respectively. When the increasing feed of high temperature $H_2SO_4$ of up to 5 %, 10 %, and 15 % were compared with base flow (45.2 kg/s), the deviation of time period rose to a certain temperature and ranged from 0 to 4.5 s in the same position (same material). In case of cooling water, the deviation of time period rose to a certain temperature and ranged from 0 to 5.9 s according to the decreasing feed changes of cooling water at 5 %, 10 %, and 15 % compared to a base flow (3.9 kg/s). Finally, the additional researches related to the two different materials (Teflon and STS for Pitch and End-plate), which are concerned about the effects of temperature changes to the parts contacting different materials, are needed, and we have a plan to conduct a follow-up study.
Objectives: It was the aim of this study to evaluate the effect of cooling water temperature on the temperature changes in the pulp chamber and at the handpiece head during high-speed tooth preparation using an electric handpiece. Materials and Methods: Twenty-eight intact human molars received a standardized occlusal preparation for 60 seconds using a diamond bur in an electric handpiece, and one of four treatments were applied that varied in the temperature of cooling water applied (control, with no cooling water, $10^{\circ}C$, $23^{\circ}C$, and $35^{\circ}C$). The temperature changes in the pulp chamber and at the handpiece head were recorded using K-type thermocouples connected to a digital thermometer. Results: The average temperature changes within the pulp chamber and at the handpiece head during preparation increased substantially when no cooling water was applied ($6.8^{\circ}C$ and $11.0^{\circ}C$, respectively), but decreased significantly when cooling water was added. The most substantial drop in temperature occurred with $10^{\circ}C$ water ($-16.3^{\circ}C$ and $-10.2^{\circ}C$), but reductions were also seen at $23^{\circ}C$ ($-8.6^{\circ}C$ and $-4.9^{\circ}C$). With $35^{\circ}C$ cooling water, temperatures increased slightly, but still remained lower than the no cooling water group ($1.6^{\circ}C$ and $6.7^{\circ}C$). Conclusions: The temperature changes in the pulp chamber and at the handpiece head were above harmful thresholds when tooth preparation was performed without cooling water. However, cooling water of all temperatures prevented harmful critical temperature changes even though water at $35^{\circ}C$ raised temperatures slightly above baseline.

The study was conducted in Manu-stream, located in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, from January 2021 to December 2021. The survey points were selected in the upper and lower streams based on where thermal discharged to investigate water temperature and fish species and biological community analysis and growth rate were analyzed. The average annual water temperature difference between the upper and lower stream is about 11.0℃, and in the case of the lower stream area, the water temperature is maintained at 20.0℃ or more per year. Fish that appeared during the survey period decreased lower stream compared to the upper stream, which is believed to be the result of a decrease in temperature-sensitive species as the simple riverbed structure and water temperature increased compared to the upper stream. As a result of biological community analysis, it showed a relatively stable community state at the upper stream. The growth rate of fish has a high regression coefficient b value in lower streams throughout the four seasons. It showed relatively good growth lower stream, with a high water temperature. However, the results of each survey point are similar from season to season. The indicator species is a resistant intermediate species, and the range of resistance to water temperature is wide, so it is judged that water temperature's effect on the indicator species' growth is low.

Ground water source heat pumps are clean, energy-efficient and environment-friendly systems for cooling and heating. Although the initial cost of ground water source heat pump system is higher than that of air source, it is now widely accepted as an economical system since the installation cost can be returned within a short period of time due to its high efficiency. In a ground water source heat pump system, the variation of the ground water temperature is an important factor that influences the system performance. In this study, variation of the ground water temperature of a single well system is studied experimentally for various operating conditions. When ground water flow exists in the underground, the returned water exchanges heat efficiently with the ground and the temperature of the ground water remains nearly constant. Hence the short circuit problem is minimized. If an active flow of ground water flow exists in the underground, a singe well heat pumps system will be free of short circuit problem and can operate with high performance.
