Design of type 316L stainless steel 700 ℃ high-temperature piping

  • High-temperature design evaluations were conducted on Type 316L stainless steel piping for a 700 ℃ large-capacity thermal energy storage verification test loop (TESET) under construction at KAERI. The hot leg piping with sodium coolant at 700 ℃ connects the main components of the loop heater, hot storage tank, and air-to-sodium heat exchanger. Currently, the design rules of ASME B31.1 and RCC-MRx provide design procedures for high-temperature piping in the creep range for Type 316L stainless steel. However, the design material properties around 700 ℃ are not available in those rules. Therefore, a number of material tests, including creep tests at various temperatures, were conducted to determine the insufficient material properties and relevant design coefficients so that high-temperature design on the 700 ℃ piping may be possible. It was shown that Type 316L stainless steel can be used in a 700 ℃ high-temperature piping system of Generation IV reactor systems or a renewable energy systems, such as thermal energy storage systems, for a limited operation time.

포장과 저장온도가 '백다다기' 오이 선도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Packaging and Storage Temperature on Quality Changes of 'White Dadagi' Cucumber)

  • The evaluation of package temperature for fresh preservation of cucumber was investigated. The fresh cucumber is available in markets of Korea during whole seasons, for the help of farmer, distributor and consumer. Cucumbers were stored within cardboard boxes packaging covered with low density polyethylene (LDPE) at different temperatures (5, 10, 15 and 20℃). Changes in weight loss, hue angle, firmness, moisture content and general appearance (shape of cucumber) were investigated during storage of cucumbers. General appearance index with non-packaging decreased more than with LDPE film packaging at 5℃ and 10℃. During storage of cucumbers, general appearance index as freshness showed packaging effect at low temperature than room temperature. In the fresh weight loss, the packaged cucumbers were less reduced than that of the non-packaging ones. At color change, Hue angle of cucumber stored within low temperature with film packaging decreased gradually during storage. However remarkable change in hue angle were observed in cucumber within LDPE film packaging treatments of 15℃ and 20℃ storage. The effect of hue angle with packaging appears differently depending on the storage temperature conditions. The firmness and moisture content of cucumber flesh were not affected by packaging and storage temperature. In this experiment, cucumbers packaged with LDPE film at 5℃ and 10℃ were the most desirable for extending the quality. These results suggest that packaging of low temperature treatments in combination could be effective in prolonging the shelf life of cucumber.

Effects of Storage Environmental Conditions on Weight Loss, Whiteness Change, and Microbial Activity of Mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus)

  • The effects of storage temperature and high relative humidity (RH) on the weight loss, color change, and microbial activity of a mushroom ('Sylvan' hybrid white) were investigated. The experiment was performed at three temperature (5, 10 and $15^{\circ}C$) and four different relative humidity levels (91, 94, 97 and 99%). The weight loss of the tested samples had a highly correlated linear relationship with storage time at each RH level during storage. Both the storage temperature and RH levels in the experiment had signigicant effects (p<0.05) on the weight-loss rate of the tested samples. The loss whiteness of mushrooms was not significantly affected (p>0.05) by RH ranges at the same temperature. No visible damage was caused by either bacteria or fungi in all samples during storage.

  • To investigate failure analysis of surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter for radio frequency, high temperature storage test was carried out. The failure criteria were insertion loss at passband and rejection level at stopband. As a result, the insertion loss at passband increase about 4 dB was due to damages of interdigital transducer (IDT). That is caused by poor adhesion between metal electrode(AI) and piezoelectric substrate and defects on a manufacturing process. This result indicates that good adhesion between electrode and ceramic substrate is important factor And also we investigated the demage factors of electrode. Screen possible of saw filter using high temperature storage test(HTOL) in the manufacturing phase be presented.

고온 축열재료의 특성 (Characteristics of High-Temperature Energy Storage Materials)

  • This review evaluates the state of art in the field of high-temperature energy storage materials and systems. The physical and chemical properties, corrosion data and practical applications of the phase change materials, especially the inorganic salts applicable to storage temperature in the range of $100-850^{\circ}C$ have been summarized. Fluoride salts have excellent thermal storage properties, but these are less attractive in terms of cost and corrosion problem of container materials. The nitrate and nitrite have attractive properties in the temperature range up to $600^{\circ}C$, at which the rate of decomposition becomes unacceptable. Carbonates euteutic salts can be considered as the most promising energy storage material on the basis of their low cost and excellent material compatibility for corrosion in the temperature range up to $850^{\circ}C$.

  • 최근 화석에너지의 남용으로 인한 지구온난화문제가 인류가 해결해야 할 지상과제로 대두되고 있으며, 본 연구는 이러한 에너지문제의 해결에 도움이 될 수 있는 고온축열탱크의 개발과 그 성능특성에 관한 내용이다. 지금까지 이에 관한 연구는 그다지 활발하지 않았으며, 특히 고온축열탱크에 관한 연구는 매우 드문 실정이다. 본 연구의 목적은 비교적 열물성이 양호하며 가격이 저렴한 물질인 MgO를 현열축열재로 사용하는 고온축열탱크의 개발이다. 이를 위하여 분말 상태의 MgO를 이용하여 축열벽돌을 제작하고, 실험적 방법을 통하여 MgO를 축열재로 사용하는 고온축열탱크의 성능특성에 관하여 연구하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 현열축열재인 MgO의 고온축열 및 방열성능을 확인하였다.

  • The heat transfer characteristics of inorganic salt for high temperature heat storage material of solar power system were examined. The inorganic salts employed in this study was a mixture of $NaNO_3$ and $KNO_3$ and the operating temperature range was determined by measuring the melting temperature with DSC and by measuring the thermal decomposition temperature with TGA. The heat transfer characteristics was qualitatively obtained in terms of temperature profiles of salt in the tanks during the heat storage and heat release process as a function of steam flow rates, steam inlet temperature and the inlet position of steam. The effects of steam flow rates and inlet temperature of steam were experimentally determined and the effect of natural convection was observed due to significant density difference with temperature.

  • 모빌리티 기술의 급격한 성장으로 산업 분야의 수요는 차량 내에 다양한 장비와 센서의 데이터를 안정적으로 처리할 수 있는 저장장치를 요구하고 있다. NAND 플래시 메모리는 외부에 강한 충격뿐만 아니라 저전력, 빠른 데이터 처리 속도의 장점이 있기 때문에 모빌리티 환경의 저장장치로 활용되고 있다. 그러나 플래시 메모리는 고온에 장기 노출될 경우 데이터 손상이 발생할 수 있는 특징이 있다. 따라서 태양 복사열 등 날씨나 외부 열원에 의한 고온 노출이 빈번한 모빌리티 환경에서는 온도를 관리하기 위한 전용 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문은 모빌리티 환경에서 저장장치 온도 관리하기 위한 전용 온도 관리 시스템을 설계한다. 설계한 온도 관리 시스템은 전통적인 공기 냉각 방식과 수 냉각방식의 기술을 하이브리드로 적용하였다. 냉각 방식은 저장장치의 온도에 따라 적응형으로 동작하도록 설계하였으며, 온도 단계가 낮을 경우 동작하지 않도록 설계하여 에너지 효율을 높였다. 마지막으로 실험을 통해 각 냉각방식과 방열재질의 차이 따른 온도 차이를 분석하였고, 온도 관리 정책이 성능을 유지하는데 효과가 있음을 증명하였다.

퍼지논리를 이용한 저온저장고의 온도제어시스템 개발 (Development of Temperature Control System for Cold Storage Room Using Fuzzy Logic)

  • Low temperature storage method is to increase the value of agricultural products by reducing quality loss and regulate consignment time by controlling respiration rates of agricultural products. Respiration rate of agricultural products depends on several factors such as temperature, moisture, gas composition and a microbe inside the storage room. Temperature is the most important factor among these, which affects respiration rate and causes low or high temperature damage. Fuzzy logic was used to control the temperature of a storage room ,which uses information of uncertain facts and mathematical model for room temperature control . Room temperature was controlled better by using fuzzy logic control method rather than on-off control method. Refrigerant flow rates and temperature deviations were measured for on-off system using TEV(temperature expansion valve) and for fuzzy system using EEV(Electrical Expansion Valve) . Temperature of the Storage room was lowered faster by using fuzzy system than on -off system. Temperature deviation was -0.6~+0.9$^{\circ}C$ for on-off system and $\pm$0.2$^{\circ}C$ for fuzzy system developed. Temperature deviation and variation of temperature deviation were used as inout parameters for fuzzy system. The most suitable input and output value were found by experiment. Cooling rate of the storage room decreased while temperature deviation increased for the sampling time of 20 sec.

가미소요산 전탕팩의 보관 온도 및 기간에 따른 지표 성분 함량 및 항염증 효능 비교 연구 (Comparative study on the contents of marker compounds and anti-inflammatory effects of Gamisoyo-san decoction according to storage temperature and periods)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate changes of the marker compounds and anti-inflammatory effect of Gamisoyo-san decoction (GMSYS) depending on storage temperature and periods. Methods: GMSYS was stored at room temperature or refrigeration for 12 months. According to storage temperature and periods, pH and sugar content of GMSYS were measured. To determine the marker compounds of GMSYS, high-performance liquid chromatography analysis was performed. To estimate the anti-inflammatory effect of GMSYS, LPS-induced pro-inflammatory mediators and cytokines were measured in RAW 264.7 cells. Results: There was no change in pH and sugar content depending on storage temperature and periods of GMSYS. The contents of gallic acid and mangiferin in both of room temperature and refrigerated decoctions reduced with increasing storage periods. Chlorogenic acid was time-dependently decreased in case of stored at room temperature. GMSYS significantly inhibited the LPS-induced production of nitric oxide, prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$) and IL-6 in RAW 264.7 cells. These effects equally maintained up to 3 months at both of room temperature and refrigeration. Since 4 months, the inhibitory effect of GMSYS on LPS-induced $PGE_2$ production was time-dependently reduced, and the decrease in $PGE_2$ inhibitory effect of decoction stored at refrigeration was lower than that of stored at room temperature. Conclusions: Our results indicate that the anti-inflammatory effect of GMSYS are maintained up to 12 months, but it shows optimal efficacy up to 3 months. It is recommended to store in a refrigeration for short periods since some components decrease as storage periods becomes longer.
