Santa Barbara Amorphous-15(SBA-15) nanoparticles were utilized as the inexpensive and effective adsorbents to remove methylene blue dye from the aqueous solution.SBA-15 was created by Zhao et al method. Infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used for the evaluated physical properties of SBA-15. The results of diffraction X-ray indicated that was the crystalline structure for it. Also IR spectroscopy indicated was a silica the whole structure of the groups and SEM image verify the structure of relatively identical particles size of SBA-15. Factors affecting adsorption including the amounts of adsorbent, pH and contact time were investigated by a SBA-15 nanomaterial design. The extent of dye removal enhanced with increasing initial dye concentration and pH from 4 to 10. The higher percentage adsorption were obtained under optimum conditions of variables (sorbent dose of 200 mg/liter, initial MB concentration 10 mg/liter, initial pH of 10 and temperature of $25^{\circ}C$). Maximum adsorption happened after the 2 hour and the kinetic processes of the dyes adsorption were described by applying the pseudo-first-order and the pseudo-second-order and the relatively High correlation with the kinetic Ellovich models. It was found that the pseudo-second-order models kinetic equation described the data of dye adsorption with a good correlation (R2>0.999) which indicated chemisorption mechanism. Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption models were investigated in conditions of variables (adsorbent dose 0.01 gr/liter, MB concentration 10, 20, 30 mg/liter, pH of 4, 7, 10, contact time 90 min and temperature of $27^{\circ}C$). The adsorption data were represented by Langmuir isotherm model. These values are higher than the adsorption capacities of some other adsorbents that have recently been published in the literature.
In order to utilize natural gas (NG), one of the clean energy sources in next-generation, as a fuel for vehicles, it is important to store natural gas with high density. To store NG by adsorption (ANG) at room temperature and at relatively low pressure(35~40 atm) is safe and economical compared with compressed NG and liquefied NG. However, so far no adsorbent is reported to have adsorption capacity suitable for commercial applications. Nanoporous materials including metal-organic frameworks can be potential adsorbents for ANG. In this review, physicochemical properties of adsorbents necessary for high adsorption capacity are summarized. Wide surface area, large micropore volume, suitable pore size and high density are necessary for high energy density. Moreover, low adsorption-desorption energy, rapid adsorption-desorption kinetics and high delivery are needed. Recently, various efforts have been reported to utilize nanoporous materials in ANG, and it is expected to develop a nanoporous material suitable for ANG.

Li, Zr doped mesoporous silica was synthesized in one pot and investigated for low temperature $CO_2$ adsorption. Herein CTAB and TEOS are used as structural directing agent and silica source respectively. The characteristics of the material was obtained from FT IR, XRD, SEM, TG and BET results. ICP AES results revealed the presence of lithium and zirconium. The material possesses high surface area ($962.22m^2g^{-1}$) with mono dispersed particles of about 2 nm. The maximum $CO_2$ adsorption capacity is 5 wt % (50 mg/g) of $CO_2$/g of sorbent at $25^{\circ}C$, which is regenerable at $200^{\circ}C$. This regeneration temperature of the adsorbent is lower than the reported lithium zirconium silicate powder. Until now, there is no report for the synthesis of Li, Zr doped mesoporous silica. The performance studies illustrate that Li, Zr doped mesoporous silica is tunable, regenerable, recyclable and selective sorbent and hence found to be a promising candidate for $CO_2$ adsorption.
Nowadays, adsorption chillers have been receiving considerable attentions as they are energy-saving and environmental1y benign systems. A Fin & tube type heat exchanger in which adsorption/desorption take place is required more compact size. The adsorption chiller is expected to have high energy-efficiency in utilizing the waste heat exhausted from a process. The objectives of this paper are to investigate the effect of fin pitch of fin & tube on the adsorption performance and to develop an optimal design fin & tube heat exchanger in the silica gel/water adsorption chiller. Previous study concluded that optimal particle size selected 0.5mm, type HO silica gel, and fundamental heat transfer & mass transfer experiments carried out. From the numerical results, the adsorption rate for the fin pitch 2.5mm is the highest than that for the fin pitch 5mm, 7.5mm and 10mm. Also cooling water & hot water temperature affect the adsorption rate.

A new copper adenine MOF (Bio-MOF) was synthesized by hydrothermal procedure and explored for its low temperature $CO_2$ adsorption. In this adenine a DNA nucleotide was used as a ligand for Cu in DMF solution at $130^{\circ}C$. The synthesized Bio MOF was characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS, TG and BE Tresults. The material possesses high surface area (716.08 $m^2g^{-1}$) with mono dispersed particles of about 2.126 nm. The maximum $CO_2$ adsorption capacity is 5wt% at $50^{\circ}C$, which is regenerable at $100^{\circ}C$ which is very low when compared to other metal organic frame work studied. This study proves that the synthesized material is also be a choice materials for low temperature $CO_2$adsorption.

The removal of radioactive organic iodide generated from high temperature process in nuclear facility was generally performed by silver ion-exchanged synthetic zeolite (AgX). The purpose of this study is to obtain fundamental data for the substitution of natural zeolite(NZ) in stead of synthetic zeolite as supporter for the removal of methyl iodide in high temperature conditions. Therefore, NZ was modified with NaCl, $NaNO_3$ solution, and the analysis of the physical or surface characteristics through XRD, SEM-EDAX, and BET analysis was performed. In order to obtain the optimal surface-modification condition of NZ, adsorption capacities at $150^{\circ}C$ on surface-modified silver ion-exchanged NZ prepared with the variation of solution concentration were evaluated. The optimal condition of surface modification is that concentration of $NaNO_3$ and $AgNO_3$ are 1N and 1.2N, respectively(namely Ag-SMNZ). The adsorption isotherm of methyl iodide on Ag-SMNZ in a range of $100^{\circ}C$ to $300^{\circ}C$ was obtained, which is similar to that of 13X, and the maximum adsorption amount of Ag-SMNZ reached approximately 50% that of AgX. It would be evaluated that the adsorption capacity at $150{\sim}200^{\circ}C$ is relatively higher than other temperature, and the chemisorption between silver and iodide is attributed to a strong binding even after desorption test.
Former studies revealed that sepiolite thermally treated at high temperature have high adsorption capacity for phosphate. However, its micron size (75 ㎛) limits its application to water treatment. In this study, we synthesized sepiolite impregnated polysulfone (PSf) beads to separate it easily from an aqueous solution. PSf beads with different sepiolite ratios were synthesized and their efficiencies were compared. The PSf beads with 30% impregnated sepiolite (30SPL-PSf bead) possessed the optimum sepiolite ratio for phosphate removal. Kinetic, equilibrium, and thermodynamic adsorption experiments were performed using the 30SPL-PSf bead. Equilibrium adsorption was achieved in 24 h, and the pseudo-first-order model was suitable for describing the phosphate adsorption at different reaction times. The Langmuir model was appropriate for describing the phosphate adsorption onto the 30SPL-PSf bead, and the maximum adsorption capacity of the 30SPL-PSf bead obtained from the model was 24.48 mg-PO4/g. Enthalpy and entropy increased during the phosphate adsorption onto the 30SPL-PSf bead, and Gibb's free energy at 35 ℃ was negative. An increase in the solution pH from 3 to 11 induced a decrease in the phosphate adsorption amount from 27.30 mg-PO4/g to 21.54 mg-PO4/g. The competitive anion influenced the phosphate adsorption onto the 30SPL-PSf bead was in the order of NO3- > SO42- > HCO3-. The phosphate breakthrough from the column packed with the 30SPL-PSf bead began after ~2000 min, reaching the influent concentration after ~8000 min. The adsorption amounts per unit mass of 30SPL-PSf and removal efficiency were 0.775 mg-PO4/g and 61.6%, respectively. This study demonstrates the adequate performance of 30SPL-PSf beads as a filter for phosphate removal from aqueous solutions.

This study was performed to find the ability of bituminous coal fly ash to remove fluoride from water and wastewater at different fluoride concentration, reaction temperature, reaction time and pH. The removal of fluoride is favorable at low concentration, high temperature and acidic pH. With the increase in the initial fluoride concentration, the amount adsorbed increased. Adsorption process was exothermic at pH 2.0. Physisorption process was predominant over pH 2.3, while Chemisorption was under pH 2.3. Fluoride uptake by fly ash was conducted the adherence of fluoride on the active surface sites of adsorbent and its intraparticle diffusion within adsorbent. The values of rate constants of adsorption were 3.028X 10$^{-3}$, 4.715X 10$^{-3}$, 2.88X 10$^{-3}$ (min) and intraparticle diffusion were 1.434X10$^{-3}$, 3.012X10$^{-3}$, 5.635X10$^{-3}$ at each temperatures.

A novel experimental set-up allowing quantitative determination of the adsorption capacity of gas molecules on a surface under high-vacuum conditions is introduced. Using this system, the toluene adsorption capacities of various carbon nanostructures were determined. We found that for a give surface area, the adsorption capacities of toluene of multi-walled carbon nanotubes and nanodiamonds were higher than that of activated carbon, which is widely used as an adsorbent of volatile organic compounds. The adsorption of toluene was reversible at room temperature.
