저비용항공 진입에 따른 항공과 고속철도수단 선택에 관한 연구 (A study on Air and High Speed Rail modal According to the Introduction of Low Cost Carrier Air Service)

  • 2004년을 기준으로 전국 15개 지방공항 가운데 제주와 김포, 김해공항을 제외한 나머지 공항 들은 해마다 수십억 원의 적자를 내고 있는 실정이다. 지방공항들의 실패원인으로 수요예측 오류의 문제가 대두되어 왔다. 이에 소형 항공기를 이용해 정기서비스를 제공하는 저비용항공의 진입을 통해 소비자의 편의를 증진시키고 지방공항을 활성화해야 한다는 주장이 사회적인 공감을 얻고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 (1) 기존항공과 고속철도와 저비용항공 3자 사이의 고속교통통행수단 선택모형을 제시하고 (2) SP조사를 통하여 서울-대구간 저비용항공의 이용수요를 추정하고, (3) 추정모형을 설정하여 정책수단별 효과 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, (1)서울-대구간 고속교통수단 선택에 있어서 저비용항공의 진입은 요금과 가격이 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, (2)저비용항공의 요금이 KTX에 비해 훨씬 저렴한 38,000원 수준으로 정해질 경우에도 총통행시간이 KTX와 시간이 동일하게 소요되는 지역의 경우 저비용항공의 선택확률은 0.1 정도로 작게 나타나 통행수단 전환효과는 그리 크지 않을 것으로 분석되었다. (3)향후 서울-대구간 저비용항공 취항시의 요금은 38,000원${\sim}$44,000원 사이에서 결정되어야 할 것으로 보이며, 그 이상의 요금으로 결정될 경우 큰 수요를 기대하기 어려울 것으로 판단된다.

  • This paper presents a high-frequency inverter type high-voltage power supply for X-ray equipments. The high-voltage generator consist of an inverter unit including the SR(Series Resonance) type PSC(Phase-Shifted Control) PWM circuit adopting IGBT as the switching power device and high-voltage unit including the CW(Cockcroft Walton) circuit. When the X-ray equipment is radiographing at large power for a short time, this generator operates through feedback voltage mode control to obtain a high speed leading edge and low ripple. The operating modes and design consideration of the proposed power supply are given. Issues in the design of high-voltage divider for high voltage measuring. Experimental results are presented to verify the performance of the designed power supply for varying load conditions. The proposed apparatus has several advantages, e.g., the fast rising time of tube voltage, accuracy and reduced component size etc.

Integrated Water Resources Management in the Era of nGreat Transition

  • The Chah-Nimeh reservoirs, which are a sort of natural lakes located in the border of Iran and Afghanistan, are the main drinking and agricultural water resources of Sistan arid region. Considering the occurrence of intense seasonal wind, locally known as levar wind, this study aims to explore the possibility to provide a TSM (Total Suspended Matter) monitoring model of Chah-Nimeh reservoirs using multi-temporal satellite images and in-situ wind speed data. The results show that a strong correlation between TSM concentration and wind speed are present. The developed empirical model indicated high performance in retrieving spatiotemporal distribution of the TSM concentration with R2=0.98 and RMSE=0.92g/m3. Following this observation, we also consider a machine learning-based model to predicts the average TSM using only wind speed. We connect our in-situ wind speed data to the TSM data generated from the inversion of multi-temporal satellite imagery to train a neural network based mode l(Wind2TSM-Net). Examining Wind2TSM-Net model indicates this model can retrieve the TSM accurately utilizing only wind speed (R2=0.88 and RMSE=1.97g/m3). Moreover, this results of this study show tha the TSM concentration can be estimated using only in situ wind speed data independent of the satellite images. Specifically, such model can supply a temporally persistent means of monitoring TSM that is not limited by the temporal resolution of imagery or the cloud cover problem in the optical remote sensing.

단변분 탐색법에 기초한 고속철도교량의 수치해석 모델 개선 (Numerical Model Updating Based on Univariate Search Method for High Speed Railway Bridges)

  • 유한요소 해석 기술의 발달에 따라 수치해석은 실구조물의 상태파악 및 유지관리에 중요한 요소가 되었다. 이러한 유한요소 해석모델을 이용하여 실 구조물의 상태 파악하고 수치 실험을 행하기 위해서는 계측 응답을 바탕으로 수치해석 모델의 개선이 반드시 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구에서는 새롭게 개발된 단변분 탐색법을 기반으로 반복적 개선을 수행하면서도 미분함수를 작성하지 않아도 되는 새로운 수치해석모델 개선기법을 소개하고, 동적안정성 분석을 통하여 고속철도교량에서의 적용성을 검토하였다. 정확한 동특성 분석을 위하여 무선계측시스템과 계측점 이동법을 이용한 세밀한 계측을 실시하고, 상관성 검토 및 모드분해기법을 활용하여 고유진동수와 모드형상을 추정하였다. 설계자료를 바탕으로 구축된 수치해석 초기 모델을 추정된 동특성과 개발된 수치해석 모델 개선 기법을 이용하여 모델 개선을 수행하였으며, 개선된 모델을 이용한 수치 실험 결과와 실 교량에서의 응답과 비교하여 수치해석 모델 개선 기법의 적용성을 검토하였다. 또한, 개선된 모델의 유용성을 검토하기 위하여 고속철도교량의 동적안정성 분석을 실시하여 성공적으로 수행할 수 있었다. 개발된 수치해석 모델 개선기법의 적용성을 추가적으로 검증된다면, 다양한 구조물 및 교량에서 개발된 수치해석 모델 개선기법을 사용할 수 있을 것이다.

Seismic behavior of circular-in-square concrete-filled high-strength double skin steel tubular stub columns with out-of-code B/t ratios

  • Aiming at the development trend of light weight and high strength of engineering structures, this paper experimentally investigated the seismic performance of circular-in-square high-strength concrete-filled double skin steel tubular (HCFDST) stub columns with out-of-code width-to-thickness (B/t) ratios. Typical failure mode of HCFDST stub columns appeared with the infill material crushing, steel fracture and local buckling of outer tubes as well as the inner buckling of inner tubes. Subsequently, the detailed analysis on hysteretic curves, skeleton curves and ductility, energy dissipation, stiffness degradation and lateral force reduction was conducted to reflect the influences of hollow ratios, axial compression ratios and infill types, e.g., increasing hollow ratio from 0.54 to 0.68 and 0.82 made a slight effect on bearing capacity compared to the ductility coefficients; the higher axial compression ratio (e.g., 0.3 versus 0.1) significantly reduced the average bearing capacity and ductility; the HCFDST column SCFST-6 filled with concrete obviously displayed the larger initial secant stiffness with a percentage 34.20% than the column SCFST-2 using engineered cementitious composite (ECC); increasing hollow ratios, axial compression ratios could accelerate the drop speed of stiffness degradation. The out-of-code HCFDST stub columns with reasonable design could behave favorable hysteretic performance. A theoretical model considering the tensile strength effect of ECC was thereafter established and verified to predict the moment-resisting capacity of HCFDST columns using ECC. The reported research on circular-in-square HCFDST stub columns can provide significant references to the structural application and design.

선박 주 추진기관으로 사용가능한 대형 디젤엔진의 배기가스 특성 분석 (Exhaust Emission Characteristics from Heavy-duty Diesel Engine applicable to Prime Propulsion Engine for Marine Vessels)

  • 본 논문은 선박의 주 추진기관으로 사용가능한 육상 운송수단에 탑재되어있는 대형 디젤엔진에서 배출되는 입자상 물질과 질소산화물의 배출특성을 ESC mode에 적용시켜 분석하는데 초점을 두었다. 입자상 물질은 엔진의 고부하 영역에서 다량으로 배출되는 특성을 확인 할 수 있었으며 질소산화물의 경우 배기가스 온도 측정형태와 동일한 경향으로 배출되었다. 매연여과장치를 부착하여 입자상 물질의 배출특성을 분석한 결과 mode별 1/100~1/1,000배까지 저감되었다. 그러나 급격한 엔진 부하 변동 시 저감효과는 떨어졌으며 고속-고부하 영역에서는 매연여과장치내부의 온도상승으로 일부 재생현상이 발생하여 입자상 물질의 배출 증가 결과를 초래하는 현상이 발생하였다. 시험엔진에서 배출되는 입자상 물질의 입경분포를 분석한 결과 대부분 100nm 이하의 크기를 가지는 나노 입자가 배출되었으며 매연여과장치를 부착 및 탈착하여 측정한 결과 배출수준에는 차이가 있지만 입자상 물질의 입경분포는 비슷한 경향으로 분석되었다.

Impact of Online Learning in India: A Survey of University Students during the COVID-19 Crisis

  • The unprecedented situation of COVID-19 caused the government of India to instruct educational institutions to switch to an online mode to mitigate the losses for students due to the pandemic. The present study attempts to explore the impact of online learning introduced as a stop-gap arrangement during the pandemic in India. A survey was conducted (N=289), via Facebook and WhatsApp, June 1-15, 2020 to understand the accessibility and effectiveness of online learning and constraints that students of higher education across the country faced during the peak times of the pandemic. The analysis and interpretation of the data revealed that the students acclimatized in a short span of time to online learning, with only 33.21% saying they were not satisfied with the online learning mode. However, the sudden shift to online education has presented more challenges for the socially and economically marginalized groups, including Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), females, and students in rural areas, due to factors like the price of high-speed Internet (78.20% identified it as a barrier to online learning), insufficient infrastructure (23.52% needed to share their device frequently or very frequently), poor Internet connectivity, etc. According to 76.47% of respondents, the future of learning will be in "blended mode." A total of 88.92% of the respondents suggested that the government should provide high-quality video conferencing facilities free to students to mitigate the division created by online education in an already divided society.

수차발전기 축계의 진동해석 (Vibration Analysis of Hydraulic Turbine-Generator Rotor)

  • Pump-storage power plants, which pumps water from the lower reservoir to the upper reservoir using the extra electronic power at night and generates the electronic power in the daytime, are more increasing. Currently it has a tendency to be high-head large-capacity machines. So in the processing of design, we need to know the vibration characteristics of pump-turbine shaft system sufficiently. In this paper, we developed the computer programs for analyzing pump-turbine shaft system considering magnetic force of generator, hydraulic force at runner, dynamic characteristics of guide bearings and the effect of add mass of water. And the superiority of this program was verified by applying it to the real model and calculating high quality critical speed, natural mode and unbalance response.

  • This paper describes a three-phase converter with high power factor using a scheme of discontinuous current mode(DCM). The proposed system can replace the conventional diode bridge with step-up chopper which is used as a converter for adjustable speed drive. In this system, the current of reactor is zero at turn-on instance because of operation in DCM, while the switch turns off at the instance of maximum current. A soft-switching scheme with lossless snubber was proposed. Therefore, a zero-voltage switching at turn off can be achived by lossless snubber and zero-current switching at turn on can be obtained by operating under DCM. A theoretical analysis and computer simulations with PSpice were done to verify the operation of the proposed system. Also a prototype of hardware system was built and tested for verifying the feasibility of proposed system.

  • The tool wear that is developed by long-term machining in mold manufacturing with machining center makes a severe influence to the accuracy and the surface roughness. In this reason, tool-wear supervising system which has guaranteed high accuracy and high speed is needed to improve the measurement quality. Touching probe and touch sensor are widely used to measure the tool profile at on-machine measurement. In this paper, using the newly developed electric touch point measuring system, the Automatic Tool Compensation System is developed to correct the error of tool diameter resulted from the wear, and the operating method of this system is also provided.
