  • We report a high resolution spectrum of AG Pegasi observed at Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory (BOAO) on October 2, 2004. Some of permitted emission lines, for example H I, He I, He II, Fe II and Ti II were observed in the spectrum of AG Pegasi in 2004. Lines presented in the longer wavelength region than $6500{\AA}$ are identified. And radial velocities for each element are measured. Then we carefully discuss the geometrical feature of AG Pegasi in October 2004.

  • Recently reported asynchronous-optical-sampling terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy enables high-resolution spectroscopy due to a long time-delay window. However, a long-lasting tail signal following the main pulse is often measured in a time-domain waveform, resulting in spectral fluctuation above a background noise level on a high-resolution THz amplitude spectrum. Here, we adopt the wavelet power spectrum estimation technique (WPSET) to effectively remove the spectral fluctuation without sacrificing spectral features. Effectiveness of the WPSET is verified by investigating a transmission spectrum of water vapor.

  • In this paper, a new ARMA spectrum estimation algorithm based on Circular Lattice filter is presented. Since APMA model is used in signal modeling, high-resolution spectrum can be obtained. And the computational burden is reduced by using Circular Lattice filter. By modifying the input estimation part of other proposed methods, we can get high-resolution spectrum with less computation and less memory compared with other Lattice methods. Some computer simulations are performed.

  • Image restoration technique using dual sensor is presented in this paper. Digital Radiography image (1024xlO24) is obtained by conventional resolution sensor. We also obtain local DR image data by high resolution sensor. Two dimensional maximum entropy power spectrum estimation (2-D ME PSE) is applied to low resolution image and high resolution image for the purpose of the power spectrum estimation of each image. A class of linear algebraic restoration filter, parametric projection filter (PPF), is derived from the power spectrums of each image. It is shown that the noise energy may be considerably reduced through the PPF.

  • We present a high resolution spectrum of PU Vul observed at Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory (BOAO) on April 9, 2004. Permitted emission and nebular lines of PU Vul had been significantly changed compared to all spectra observed since its eruption in 1979. Therefore all new lines should be re-identified and were done so. We do-convoluted a $H{\beta}$ line into several emission components with Gaussian functions. Then we carefully discussed the geometrical feature of PU Vul in April 2004.

  • This paper presents an SVD(Singular Value Decomposition)-Pseudo Spectrum method for SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imaging. The purpose of this work is to improve resolution and target separability of SAR images. This paper proposes SVD-Pseudo Spectrum method whose advantages are noise robustness, reduction of sidelobes and high resolution of spectral estimation. SVD-Pseudo Spectrum method uses Hankel Matrix of signal components and SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) method. In this paper, it is demonstrated that the SVD-Pseudo Spectrum method shows better performance than the matched filtering method and the conventional super-resolution based multiple signal classification (MUSIC) method in SAR image processing. The targets to be separated are modeled, and this modeled data is used to demonstrate the performance of algorithms.

  • The reflection nebula NGC 7023 is a typical example of a photodissociation region (PDR), which consists of high density molecular gas that is exposed to an intense UV radiation field. The source of the UV photons in NGC 7023 is the young pre-main-sequence Be star HD 200755. We present our near-infrared high-resolution (R ~ 40,000) spectrum of NGC 7023, covering a region of $1{\times}15$ arcseconds, observed during the commissioning runs of IGRINS (Immersion GRating near-INfrared Spectrometer). The spectrum shows many strong narrow emission lines that arise from the molecular rovibrational transitions of H2. From the intensity ratios between these H2 lines, we investigate physical conditions within the PDR such as the temperature, density, and pressure. The high spectral resolution of IGRINS allows us to resolve the velocity field of the PDR. In addition, we compare the IGRINS spectrum to Cloudy PDR model.

  • We introduce a spectral reconstruction method to enhance the spectral resolution in a static modulated Fourier-transform spectrometer. The optical-path difference and the interferogram in the focal plane, as well as the relationship of the interferogram and the spectrum, are discussed. Additionally, for better spectral reconstruction, applications of phase-error correction and apodization are considered. As a result, the transfer function of the spectrometer is calculated, and then the spectrum is reconstructed based on the relationship between the transfer function and the interferogram. The spectrometer comprises a modified Sagnac interferometer. The spectral reconstruction is conducted with a source with central wave number of 6,451 cm-1 and spectral width of 337 cm-1. In a conventional Fourier-transform method the best spectral resolution is 27 cm-1, but by means of the spectral reconstruction method the spectral resolution improved to 8.7 cm-1, without changing the interferometric structure. Compared to a conventional Fourier-transform method, the spectral width in the reconstructed spectrum is narrower by 20 cm-1, and closer to the reference spectrum. The proposed method allows high performance for static modulated Fourier-transform spectrometers.

  • A high resolution spectrum of PU Vul obtained at Bohyunsan Astronomy Observatory on April 9, 2004 is presented. At this phase, PU Vul was an emission-line star and its continuum was very weak. Emission lines of He II, H I, [Ne IV], [N II], [O III], [Ar V ] and [Fe VII] dominated the spectrum of PU Vul. Many of them exhibited hat-top profiles with strong and multi-peaked emissions on flat-tops of their profiles. Radial velocities for these lines were measured. Origins of the spectral lines are discussed in terms of the wind and the photoionization models.

  • In this paper, we propose the development of a high-sensitivity entry-level nuclide analysis module. The proposed measurement sensor module consists of an electronic driving circuit for nuclide analysis resolution, prototype production with nuclide analysis function, and GUI development applied to prototypes. The electronic part driving circuit for nuclide analysis resolution is divided into nuclide analysis resolution process by the electronic part driving circuit block diagram, MCU circuit design used for radiation measurement, and PC program design for Spectrum acquisition. Prototyping with nuclide analysis function is made by adding a 128×128 pixel OLED display, three buttons for operation, a Li-ion battery, and a USB-C type port for charging the battery. The GUI development department applied to the prototype develops the screen composition such as the current time, elapsed measurement time, total count, and nuclide Spectrum. To evaluate the performance of the proposed measurement sensor module, an expert witness test was conducted. As a result of the test, it was confirmed that the calculated result by applying the resolution formula to the Spectrum (FWHM@662keV) obtained using the Cs-137 standard source in the nuclide analysis device had a resolution of 17.77%. Therefore, it was confirmed that the nuclide analysis resolution method proposed in this paper produces improved performance while being cheaper than the existing commercial nuclide analysis module.
