  • Today, the need for more flexible and adaptive production system and integrated management of their manufacturing information and facilities is ever increasing to cope with competitive and ever-changing global market environments and complexity of new control systems. This paper presents the whole system architecture and the technological characteristics of for each individual system layer which are able to flexibly integrate and manage high-speed and high-precision machining systems. It is investigated that monitoring and integrated management of the control systems can be realized with consideration of detailed information of various CNCs, and the management function may be easily constructed and extended using components of the manufacturing execution layer.

  • Time synchronization is essential for a number of network applications such as high speed communication and parallel/distribution processing systems. As the era of ubiquitous computing is ushered in, the high precise time synchronization in wireless networks have been required in. This paper presents the design ana the implementation of the high precision time synchronization in wireless networks using ZigBee. To achieve high precision requirements, we have tried to analyze and reduce error factors such as the latency and jitters of a protocol stack on wireless environments. In addition, this paper includes some experiments and performance evaluations of our system. The result is that we established for nodes in a network to maintain their elects to within a 50 nanosecond offset from the reference clock.

High Accuracy Skeleton Estimation using 3D Volumetric Model based on RGB-D

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm that extracts a high-precision 3D skeleton using a model generated using a distributed RGB-D camera. When information about a 3D model is extracted through a distributed RGB-D camera, if the information of the 3D model is used, a skeleton with higher precision can be obtained. In this paper, in order to improve the precision of the 2D skeleton, we find the conditions to obtain the 2D skeleton well using the PCA. Through this, high-quality 2D skeletons are obtained, and high-precision 3D skeletons are extracted by combining the information of the 2D skeletons. Even though this process goes through, the generated skeleton may have errors, so we propose an algorithm that removes these errors by using the information of the 3D model. We were able to extract very high accuracy skeletons using the proposed method.

  • It is difficult to machine microparts, such as microshaft and microholes, by conventional machining. Such micropart can be easily machined by EDM because it's machining force is very low. In micro-EDM, the precise electrode movement and discharge energy control are important. Therefore, high precision motion stage and EDM device with high performance is necessary. In this research, a new EDM machine was developed and microshaft and microhole, with various shape and size, was machined.

  • Cylindrical plunge grinding is widely used for final machining process of precision parts such as automobile, aircraft, measurement units. In order to make parts which have high precison accuracy and high surface integrity, it is neccessary to consider grinding characteristics. these grinding characteristics are closely related grinding force. Soin this study, to examine closely characteristics of grinding force, effects of dressing condition, depth of cut and speed ratio on grinding force are considered. As the result, It is shown that grinding forces are affected bydressing condition, depth of cut and speed ratio and that there exist threshod grinding force and it also affected by dressing conditon.

  • These days, industrial robots are required to have high speed and high precision in doing various tasks. Recently, the adaptive control algorithms for those nonlinear robots have been developed. With spatial vector space, these adaptive algorithms including recursive implementation are simply described. Without sensing joint acceleration and computing the inversion of inertia matrix, these algorithms which include P.D. terms and feedforward terms have global tracking convergence. In this paper, the feasibility of the proposed control method is illustrated by applying to 2 DOF SCARA robot in DSP(Digital Signal Processing).

  • The effects of guide pads on burnishing action and accuracy of machined hole are investigated in drilling with burnishing drill using a speciaaly designed tool experimentally. The cutting forces are balanced at the small forward regions of guide pads. The burnishing action takes place under a high contact pressure between the bore wall and those regions. The over size mechanism of machined hole by the guide pads is discussed.

  • The vibration isolation table system for the high precision Processing machinery has been developed. The system uses air spring as its isolation elements. An investigation of the model and the test results showed that the diaphragm has a role in the mathematical model. The vibration levels at various floors in the laboratory were investigated during operating the large shaking table for the selection of optimum installation location. The vibration test on the designed system showed good isolation performances.
