To evaluate the hypolipidemic effects of Cheonggukjang (CGJ), which is frequently used in Korea similar to Natto in Japan and Douchi in China like a dairy product, boiled soybeans were fermented with two Bacillus strains, B. subtilis and B. licheniforms, isolated from rice straw and their antihyperlipidemic effects of their products were investigated. Treatment with the CGJs significantly reduced blood triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) levels and increased HDL cholesterol levels in Triton WR-1339-induced hyperlipidemic mice. The treatment of non-fermented soybeans alone also reduced blood TG and TC levels, but not significantly. Feeding the CGJs significantly lowered high blood TG and TC levels as well as body and epididymal mass weights in hyperlipidemic mice induced by the long-term feeding of a high-fat diet that increased blood HDL cholesterol levels. The B. subtilis-fermented CGJ products more potently reduced TG and TC levels, although the differences between the starters were not significant. These finding suggest that CGJ products may be effective as hypolipidemic foods by the synergistic interaction of soy and Bacillus strains.

Now, the goal of the third generation KTX project is to create a new species of high speed train in order to open a new era of high speed railway system in history by authentic Korean technology and innovative design. Now the third generation KTX, must go beyond the original stagnant paradigm and be positioned as an emotional resource which is creating a shift in the public's perspective of transportation and expanding the idea that transportation intersects the two distinct realms of culture and environment as well. In addition, the overall design should reflect the Korean culture and characteristics, simple yet resonant, both the interior space and the exterior fuselage should portray the dynamic heritage of Korea such as the powerful yet subdued energy of Jung Joong Dong. In short, through the symbolic key words in Korean, Dong(Dynamics), Mek(Pulse), Ryu(Flow), Gam(Sensibility), the third generation KTX design project aims to create an new identity of Korean high speed railway which can stand globally.

The purposes of this study were to investigate ecotourism goals which are providing educational tourism, generating environmental conservation, and residents' economic benefits based on the 7th Muju Firefly festival. The sample was 243 visitors from August 23rd to 30th, 2003. The results were as follows: First, visitors showed high satisfaction for the educational tourism program. Experiencing educational 'Mysterious Firefly Field Trips' contributed to the tourists' educational satisfaction. It was found that these experience programs were very popular. Second, residents' and domestic visitors' satisfaction was high with 5.50 on Likert 7 points concerning environmental conservation. Third, foreigners showed high satisfaction for visiting tourism sites and understanding regional culture in terms of understanding region and economic benefits. The average economic effect was decreased compared to 2002. So there should be more diverse strategy to increase economic effect. Also more festival related products, diverse and unique foods and beverages based on regional products should be developed.

The purpose of the study was to examine the moderating effect of childcare teachers' role conflict on the relationship between their professionalism perception and teaching. The subjects were 365 childcare teachers who had children. They were asked to complete the survey on professionalism perception, role conflict in women, and teacher efficacy along with their background information. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 24.0 software. Descriptive, Pearson's correlation analyses, and a hierarchical regression analysis were conducted. As results, first, the childcare teachers with high professionalism perception showed high teacher efficacy, and the childcare teachers with high role conflict showed low teacher efficacy. Second, there was the moderating effect of role conflict on the relationship between professionalism perception and teacher efficacy.

Objective: Despite the recommendation of the use of high-fidelity simulation (HFS) in interprofessional education (IPE), there is little known about its work for nursing students. Thus, this study aimed to explore nurse educators' perceptions and experiences in developing and implementing the HFS-based IPE for nursing and medical students. Methods: This study used a case study, using reflective filed notes. Results: Nursing educators perceived HFS as an effective educational approach to engaging nursing and medical students actively in interprofessional collaborative practice (ICP) experiences and in evaluating their actual performance on it. In terms of their perspectives on the elements necessary for effective HFS-based IPE, four themes were identified: collaborative learning, co-facilitating debriefing, leadership commitment and active faculty involvement.

This study examined the effects of the level of narrativity of a culture content on the level of preference of a related culture content. The culture contents were categorized into novels, cartoons and TV programs according to the content type, and into dramas, comedies, and actions by the contents genre because previous studies found a high level of narrativity in novels and dramas. Based on the survey data on the movie preference, the following were found. First, when people prefer novels with high-level narrativity, rather than TV programs, which have low-level narrativity in a certain genre, they prefer watching movies in the same genre. Second, this relationship is even more reinforced when the genre of the original of the movie is drama, which has high-level narrativity, rather than comedies or actions, which have low-level narrativity. Narrativity plays an important role in the movie preference, especially when it comes to movie originals.

A production of $\beta-Carotene$was attempted in a fed-batch culture of Blakeslea trispora by controlling both foam and dissolved oxygen in the presence of surfactant, Span 20. Results obtained from the shake flask cultures indicated that a high concentration of dissolved oxygen was needed for both cell growth and $\beta-Carotene$ synthesis, and the optimal concentration of glucose was found to be in the range of 50-100 g/l. In order to maintain the dissolved oxygen concentration level at higher than 50% of air saturation, pure oxygen was automatically sparged into the medium with air. Foam was controlled by bypassing air from the submerged aeration to the headspace in response to the foam that was caused by Span 20. High agitation speed was found to be detrimental to the cell growth due to shear damage, even though it provided sufficient dissolved oxygen. On the other hand, a low aeration speed caused stagnant regions in the fermentor because of improper mixing. Thus, for the fed-batch operation, agitation speed was increased gradually from 300 to 700 rpm to prevent cell damage at the initial stage of fermentation and to give efficient mixing for a viscous culture broth as the culture proceeded. By controlling dissolved oxygen and foam, a high concentration of $\beta-Carotene$otene (1,190 mg/l) was obtained in 6 days of the fed-batch culture of B. trispora with 2.5% of the dry cell weight, which was approximately 5 times higher than that of the batch cultures.

A synthetic defined medium, fortified with amino acids, was developed for the stable production of the kringle fragments of human apolipoprotein(a) (apo(a)), rhLK68. Using a complex rich medium containing yeast extract and a high-cell-density fed-batch culture, the expression level of rhLK68 reached 17% of the total cellular protein, which corresponded to $5\;g\;l^{-1}$ of the culture. To replace the complex media with chemically defined media, several amino acids that positively affect cell growth and gene expression were chosen by a statistical method. The various combinations of the selected amino acids were tested for its fortifying effect on a minimal defined medium. When glutamine only was added, the overall expression level of rhLK68 reached 93% of the complex rich medium increasing the specific expression level by 22.4% and decreasing the cell growth by 24%. Moreover, the addition of glutamine resulted in a 2-fold increase in the concentration of rhLK68 in the culture broth, compared with the minimal defined medium. The synthetic defined media developed in this study could be generally applied to high-cell-density cultures of the recombinant Escherichia coli BL21(DE3), especially for the production of therapeutic proteins that require a strict quality control of the culture media and fermentation processes.

This study was attempted to grasp the push-pull factors of urban to rural migrants in relation to services and infrastructure of rural welfare and culture. Online and offline survey were conducted for urban residents who were willing to return to the rural area and those who were already returning to the rural area. In the fields of health care, social welfare, and education, it was found that the satisfaction level of urban-to-rural migrants was relatively higher than those of latent urban-to-rural migrants. In the field of culture, leisure and sports, the level of satisfaction and concern were similar, so it was found that the expectations for the field were relatively high before returning rural area. As for the agreement degree to expand support, the demand for emergency medical facilities and dementia care program was the highest, and the demand for health care was found to be relatively high. The results of the survey on the top priority items indicate that latent urban-to-rural migrants require support of facility and space item and expansion of program item, and urban-to-rural migrants have high demand for expansion of program item in all field except healthcare field. The results of this study are expected to provide useful information for establishing the direction of the rural area development project in connection with the revitalization of policy of people return to rural area.
