The aim of this work was to a comparative review the performance of high calcium silicate cement (HSCSC) and that of ordinary Portland cement(OPC) and blast furnace slag cement(S/C). The result of the compressive test confirmed that the compressive strength development rate of high calcium silicate cement concrete at the age of 3 days was 73.6% that of ordinary Portland cement concrete. However, at the age of 28 days, the strength development rate of high calcium silicate cement increased to about 107.0% compared to ordinary Portland cement. In addition, the test of the chloride ion penetration resistance of concrete showed that at the age of 28 days, the passed charge decreased by 73.4% and 93.0%, respectively, in blast furnace slag cement and high calcium silicate cement compared to ordinary Portland cement, and at the age of 56 days, it decreased by 79.1% and 98.3%, exhibiting excellent resistance to chloride ion penetration. In particular, it was confirmed that the rate of decrease in the passed charge with age was higher in high calcium silicate cement than in ordinary Portland cement and blast furnace slag cement.
These are many kinds of self-hardening methods for sand mold using sodium silicate. When sodium silicate solution is mixed with calcium-orthosilicate powder hardening reaction occurs, which is based for self-hardening method at high temperature. The high temperature strength and resicual strength of mold are related to the mole ratio of sodium silicate and the contents of calcium-orthosilicate powder. The results obtained in this study were as follows: 1) The high temperature strength of mold was maximum at about $600^{\circ}C$, and at higher temperature showed lower value on the contrary. 2) The high temperature strength of mold was increased by increasing the amount of sodium silicate having lower mole ratio and high concentration. 3) The residual strength of mold was reduced by increasing the mole ratio of sodium silicate and increasing the concentration of calcium-orthosilicate.

Calcium silicate hydrate(C-S-H) is the principal binding phase that controls the strength and thermal stability of concrete. However, the effects of high temperature on the lattice structure and interatomic structure of C-S-H remains poorly understood due to its nanocrystallinity. This study aims to elucidate the change in interatomic distance of synthetic C-S-H with different Ca/Si molar ratios after exposure to high temperature via high energy X-ray scattering experiment which is a powerful analytical tool for amorphous materials.
Epoxy resin-based sealers are currently widely used, and several studies have considered AH Plus to be the gold-standard sealer. However, it still has limitations, including possible mutagenicity, cytotoxicity, inflammatory response, and hydrophobicity. Drawing upon the advantages of mineral trioxide aggregate, calcium silicate-based sealers were introduced with high levels of biocompatibility and hydrophilicity. Because of the hydrophilic environment in root canals, water resorption and solubility of root canal sealers are important factors contributing to their stability. Sealers displaying lower microleakage and stronger push-out bond strength are also needed to endure the dynamic tooth environment. Although the physical properties of calcium silicate-based sealers meet International Organization for Standardization recommendations, and they have consistently reported to be biocompatible, they have not overcome conventional resin-based sealers in actual practice. Therefore, further studies aiming to improve the physical properties of calcium silicate-based sealers are needed.

In 1925, H.J. Joosten was the first in the world to use chemical injection grouts composed of sodium silicate and calcium chloride. This unique development prompted the introduction of other chemical grouting techniques. Among these chemical grouting techniques, sodium silicate based grout has been the most widely used in the world, but it has not been generally considered to be a permanent material. Therefore, studies to improve the weak points of sodium silicate based grout have been conducted, and new applications of grout were recently developed. We also developed the micro fine hybrid silicate grout of suspention type which properties are sepecialized as the high strength and durability, according to the reactant of special sodium silicate grout and the high strength hardener. As the results of this study we could derive the 2 times over high strength of Micro fine hybrid Silicate grouting method(MS method) more than that of the ordinary sodium silicate grout. And also we could confirm that the alkali leakage of micro fine hybrid silicate grout is less than that of ordinary sodium silicate grout. So we could get the high strength and durability of hybrid silicate grout are superior to those of ordinary sodium silicate grout.

In this study, the change of composition of cement hardened at high temperature through XRD was observed. The specimen was made of cement paste and the heating rate condition was applied at rapid thermal annealing (10.0℃ / min). The decrease of calcium hydroxide was not confirmed, but the calcium carbonate tended to be impossible or decreased after 800℃. Calcium silicate and larnite were observed to increase with increasing temperature. It is considered that silicic acid, which is a stable structure due to the decomposition of calcium silicate, is changed into a phase such as lime.
Objectives: This scientometric and bibliometric analysis explored scientific publications related to hydraulic calcium silicate-based (HCSB) sealers used in endodontology, aiming to describe basic bibliometric indicators and analyze current research trends. Materials and Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted in Web of Science and Scopus using specific HCSB sealer and general endodontic-related terms. Basic research parameters were collected, including publication year, authorship, countries, institutions, journals, level of evidence, study design and topic of interest, title terms, author keywords, citation counts, and density. Results: In total, 498 articles published in 136 journals were retrieved for the period 2008-2023. Brazil was the leading country, and the universities of Bologna in Italy and Sao Paolo in Brazil were represented equally as leading institutions. The most frequently occurring keywords were "calcium silicate," "root canal sealer MTA-Fillapex," and "biocompatibility," while title terms such as "calcium," "sealers," "root," "canal," "silicate based," and "endodontic" occurred most often. According to the thematic map analysis, "solubility" appeared as a basic theme of concentrated research interest, and "single-cone technique" was identified as an emerging, inadequately developed theme. The co-occurrence analysis revealed 4 major clusters centered on sealers' biological and physicochemical properties, obturation techniques, retreatability, and adhesion. Conclusions: This analysis presents bibliographic features and outlines changing trends in HCSB sealer research. The research output is dominated by basic science articles scrutinizing the biological and specific physicochemical properties of commonly used HCSB sealers. Future research needs to be guided by studies with a high level of evidence that utilize innovative, sophisticated technologies.
Background: This study was performed to provide a long-term bacterial seal through the formation of reparative dentin bridge, calcium silicate-based pulp capping materials have been used at sites of pulpal exposure. The aim of this study was to evaluate the mineralization-inducing potentials of calcium silicate-based pulp capping materials (ProRoot MTA [PR], Biodentine [BD], and TheraCal LC [TC]) in human dental pulp cells (HDPCs). Methods: Specimens of test materials were placed in deionized water for various incubation times to measure the pH variation and the concentration of calcium released. The morphology of HDPCs cultured on the specimens was examined using a confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM). Alizarin red S staining and alkaline phosphatase assays were used to evaluate mineralization-inducing potentials of the capping materials. Results: BD showed the highest calcium release in all test periods, followed by PR and TC. (p<0.05). All experimental groups showed high alkalinity after 1 day, except at 14 days. BD showed the highest cell viability compared with PR and TC after 1 and 3 days, while TC showed the lowest value (p<0.05). The CLSM analysis showed that cells were well adhered and expressed actin filaments for all pulp capping materials. Mineralization by PR and BD groups was higher than that by TC group based on alizarin red S staining. BD showed significantly higher alkaline phosphatase activity than PR and TC, while TC showed the lowest value (p<0.05). Conclusion: Within the limitations of the in vitro study, BD had higher mineralization-inducing potential than PR and TC.

Calcium silicate inorganic insulating material is a porous material which is made of 90 wt% of cement. Unlike existing inorganic insulation materials, it is produced without high temperature curing process and also it costs much less than existing inorganic insulation materials. It is an innovative insulation material that supplemented disadvantages of conventional inorganic insulation material. Researches and developments about inorganic insulation materials have been actively researched abroad. Calcium silicate insulation has $0.13g/cm^3$ of specific gravity. Its heat conductivity is under 0.050W/mK, which it similar to conventional inorganic insulation. However, it has weak compressive strength compared to other inorganic insulation. The point of this research is to manifest that calcium silicate inorganic insulating material can have certain compressive strength after curing process with high insulating performance and to find out the proper curing methods and period.
Various kinds of amorphous silicates were used as raw materials to synthesize building materials based on calcium silicate hydrates. Relationships between the reactivities of silicates and castabilities of the building materials were investigated. In addition, effects of the reactivities of silicates on the mechanical properties of casted specimens were studied by analyzing microstructures and hydrates produced. As the reactivity of silicate increase, the press castability increases and the crystal size of hydrate and pore size also increase. For the mechanical properties, the flexural strength increases with decreasing crystal size and densifing microstructure. The compressive strength is greatly dependent on the den-sification of microstructure rather than crystal size of hydrate. Based on the results, diatomous ma-terials are desirable due to high reactivity and formation of densified microstructure. Slag and fly ash may be partially used as raw materials with amorphous silicates to manufacture building materials based on calcium silicate hydrates.
