1. Objective Primary aldosteronism is clinically characterized by hypertension and hypokalemia. The purpose of this article is to report our case about a female patient with suspected primary aldosteronism. 2. Methods We diagnosed her as Soyangin Heat Sensation in chest and treated with Yangkyuksanhwa-rang and Hyungbangjihwang-tang. And potassium replacement therapy was applied to correct hypokalemia. 3. Results and Conclusions In this case, through Herb-medication, most symptoms were improved except dry mouth, Bur hypokalemia was not corrected, and primary aldosteronism was suspected on the basis of the blood results and symptoms.

Inflammatory conditions of the breast are uncommon and may be encountered in the puerperal and nonpuerperal setting. Nonpuerperal mastitis is less common and usually presents with inflammation and chronic abscess formation in the periareolar and peripheral region. These abscess have a high rate of recurrence and are often associated with an underlying disease state, such as diabetes, steroid treatment, trauma or other kinds of a deficient immune system. The diagnosis is suggested by the history of sudden onset and the presense of swelling, tenderness, heat, erythema, and in the case of abscess, fluctuation. Ultrasound can also be useful. Treatment consists of antibiotic administration or incision and drainage of the abscess and, in cases of retroareolar abscess, resection of entire underlying duct system. Recently, we have gotten good result from treating two cases of nonpuerperal mastitis and breast abscess which had treatment of antibiotics and drainage three times but recurred. After taking gamijipaesan(加味芷貝散) and acupuncture treatment, they have recovered and haven't recurred in 8 months. So it proves that herb medication and acupuncture are effective on nonpuerperal chronic mastitis and breast abscess.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental treatments to postpartum depression Methods : We treated the patient who had postpartum depression and visited Joong-hwa oriental hospital. The patient in this case, 36-years-old female, was admitted for 15days(161th/May/2005-30th/May/2005) due to postpartum depression which was measured by EPDS(Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale) and BDI(Beck's depression Inventory). The symptoms of patient are insomnia, anxiety, palpitation, chest discomfort and depression. This patient was treated with Hominis Placenta Herbal acupuncture at CV4(Kwanwon, Guanyuan), CV6(Kihae, Qihai), B23(Shinsu, shenshu), GVl5(Amun, Yamen), herb medication, acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, moxa treatment, and so forth. Results : As a result, symptoms are remarkably alleviated. Conclusions : Hominis Placenta Herbal acupuncture is expected to have an effect on postpartum depression. After this, further approach and study on postpartum depression might be needed.

Uterine myoma is benign tumor formed from muscular and connective tissues, which is one of the most common tumors found in women's reproductive organs. Uterine myoma is the most common pelvic tumor and they are diagnosed in up to15 to 20% of women in pubertal period. Although myoma is generally considered to be a slowly growing tumor, in 20-40% of women at the age of 35 and more have uterine myoma of significant sizes with severe clinical symptoms. The most common symptoms include abdominal pain or discomfort, low abdominal pressure sensation, hypermenorrhea and urinary symptoms. The treatment of uterine myoma is just observation, operation and hormone replacement therapy. We treated 6 outpatients who has uterine myoma and visited Kyungwon InCheon Oriental Hospital with Herb-medication and acupuncture. So we have gotten good result from them. After 6 outpatients had taken Guichulpazing-tang(歸朮破?湯), the symptoms were　improved and the size of the uterine myoma was reduced significantly, It proves　that oriental medical treatment is effective on the patients with uterine myoma, but　continuous studies are needed.

Tremor is a rhythmic, involuntary muscular contraction characterized by oscillations (to-and-fro movements) of a part of the body. Essential tremor is a 6-8 Hz tremor that is of variable amplitude. It is aggravated by posture and movement and relieved by rest and alcohol. Most affected part are the arms, head and vocal apparatus. The purpose of this study is to show a case of tremor patient with essential tremor improved by oriental medical treatment. The patient was 71-year-old woman who featured essential tremor and at the same time complained general body weakness, nausea, and anorexia. She was treated by oriental medicine with acupuncture, herb medication, and Korean psychotherapy; Eejeong-byunki, Jiun-goron. The features of essential tremor was reduced after taking oriental medical therapy. This result suggested that the oriental medical therapy can be effective for treating essential tremor.

Purpose : This study was designed to evaluate the effects of oriental medicine therapy on a patient of metrorrhagia and metrostaxis with endometrial polyp. Methods : The clinical data was analyzed on a patient of metrorrhagia and metrostaxis with endometrial polyp whose main symptoms were dysfunctional uterine bleeding. A 27-year-old female who had been treated hormone replacement therapy for dysfunctional uterine bleeding at a obstetrics and gynecology became worse, so refused any more hormone replacement therapy and visited Dongsin university oriental hospital. The patient was admitted to the obstetrics and gynecology department of Dongsin university Oriental Medical Hospital, on Febrary 23, 2004 and remained until Apri 11, 2005. we treated the patient with a herb-medication, acupunture therapy, moxa therapy and etc. Results : After treatment, improvement was seen in dysfunctional uterine bleeding, generalized weakness. Conclusion : The study suggests that oriental medicine therapy is significantly effective in the treatment of metrorrhagia and metrostaxis with endometrial polyp.

It is widely assumed that Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is determined by inherent disposition and environmental factor. IQ is estimated by age-conversion score and stabilized around age 4 and IQ of adult age can be predicted after age 10. Though children with Mental Retardation (MR) are delayed in language development since early infant period, they receive only special education including speech and language therapy, but no special medication. In traditional Korean medicine, the etiology and treatment for developmental delay of language have been handed down for a long time. Some studies on herbs and prescriptions for improving language development have been undertaken recently. We have found several cases of significant elevation of IQ in the children treated with long term medications of Korean herbal medicine for improvement of language. Analyzing these cases, especially performance IQ showed significant change. Therefore we suggest that Korean herbal medicine might improve cognition development in children with MR.

경련성 사경한자 1례에 대하여 TWSTRS와 Tsui score를 사용하여 경련성 사경정의 심한 정도와 치료 결과를 평가하고, 한방치료를 주로하고 양방치료를 보완적으로 실시한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 키네시오 테이프를 이용해 실시한 첩대요법은 사경증의 비틀림을 교정하는데 TWSTRS와 Tsui score 상 일정부분 효과가 있었다. 2. 아시혈을 포함한 치치료와 봉독치료는 TWSTRS상 경부통증과 일상생활 장애를 감소시켰다. 3. 양방협진하에 실시한 trigger point에 대한 국소 steroid 주사요법도 일정부분 통증을 감소시킨 것으로 생각된다.

Objectives : This is a clinical report on a 27-year-old patient with Multi-patched Alopecia Areata(AA) assumed to be occurred by chronic lymphadenopathy, and treated by oriental medicine treatment. Methods : The patient was treated by herb medication and acupuncture. The improvement of the patient was judged by magnifying glass, camera and VAS scale. Results & Conclusions : The AA patches were shown the regrowth of hair. And the pain from lymphadenopathy was disappeared. Oriental medicine treatment including Gagamsunbangpaedok-tang $(Ji\bar{a}ji\check{a}nxi\bar{a}nf\acute{a}ngb\grave{a}id\acute{u}-t\bar{a}ng)$ was effective to regrow hair on AA patches and reduce the symptom of lymphadenopathy as well.

Facial nerver paralysis is classified as Supranuclear, Peripheral and Nuclear. It is mostly Spontaneous Peripheral Facial Paralysis(Bell's palsy) or Supranuclear Paralysis by C.V.A, but Nuclear Facial Nerve Paralysis is rarely reported. We treated a 64-years-old female patient who had 7-years history of C.V.A with hypertension and heart disease, and complained of these symptoms; left facial palsy, ocular dysmetria, diplopia, and right extremity weakness. We diagnosed as direct attack from the wind pathogen(風邪入中) with deficiency of both Gi(Qi, vital energy) and blood(氣血雨虛), and employed Oriental medical treatments; herb-medication, acupuncture and moxa therapy. The result was relatively acceptable. So We report this case with a brief review of related literatures.
