In this paper, we prepared the samples with the heat-treated substrate by means of co-evaporation method. The samples prepared with heat-treated substrate of $500^{\circ}C$showed the vacancy on the surface, and it could be prevented by Se ambient condition. The samples prepared with variable heat-treated substrates such as $430^{\circ}C$, $460^{\circ}C$, $480^{\circ}C$ and $500^{\circ}C$ showed the increase of grain resulted to the increase of the density. Based on the XRD analysis, the heat treatment could remove the Cu2Se phase of the samples, but it didn't affect the absorption index of the samples. We, therefore, conclude the absorption index is not affected by heat treatment and is controlled by the thickness of the sample.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report on the efficacy of Korean medical treatment for treating menopausal vasomotor symptoms (heat flashes and sleep disorders). Methods: We treated a menopausal female patient with heat flashes and sleep disorders using Korean medical treatments (herbal medicines, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, moxibustion, and chuna). To evaluate the results of this treatment, we used Kupperman's Index and the Numerical Rating Scale to measure heat flashes and total sleeping time, respectively. The patient's general health status was evaluated using the European Quality of Life 5 Dimensions Scale. Results: We observed improvements in Kupperman's Index, the Numerical Rating Scale, the patient's total sleeping time, and the European Quality of Life 5 Dimensions Scale following the treatments. Conclusions: This study suggests that Korean medicine may be an effective treatment for menopausal vasomotor symptoms (heat flashes and sleep disorders).

Objectives: Cold extremities have been suggested to correlate with sleep disturbances. This study aims to explore the relationship between thermal sensations in body, encompassing both cold and heat sensations, with sleep quality and insomnia. Methods: Self-administered questionnaires were utilized to assess thermal sensations in body, sleep quality and symptoms of insomnia in middle-aged women. A multiple logistic regression analysis was performed to ascertain the association between thermal sensations in body and both sleep quality and insomnia symptoms. Results: Among 899 participants, 255 (28.4%) were categorized in the cold sensation group, 95 (10.6%) in the heat sensation group, 70 (7.8%) in the group with both cold and heat sensations, and 479 (53.3%) in the no-sensation group. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Insomnia Severity Index were notably higher in the group experiencing both sensations when compared to the no-sensation group. After adjustments for covariates, the odds ratios for poor sleep quality, moderate/severe insomnia, and long sleep latency were significantly elevated in the group with both sensations when compared to the no-sensation group. The odds ratios for poor sleep quality in the cold sensation group and for moderate/severe insomnia and low sleep efficiency in the heat sensation group were significantly higher when compared to the no-sensation group. Conclusions: The risk for sleep disturbances varied depending on the presence of thermal sensations in body, with the greatest risk observed for low sleep quality and insomnia in individuals experiencing both cold and heat sensations.
Objectives: We performed this study to check the effect of Cold-Heat attribute analyzed quantitatively by questionnaire on halitosis patient. Methods: We made a questionnaire composed of 15 items(6 categories) about the contents of Cold-Heat and asked 105 subjects to answer in the form Likert-like seven-points score. And then, we extracted Cold-Heat attribute from 15 items, 6 categories, 6 weighted categories, heat score and cold score. On the other hand we measured the halimeter measurements. VAS, winkle tongue coating index. Afterward, the data were analyzed by statistical methods. Results:1) In the 15 items, question number 6, 7, 8 is negative correlated with halimeter measurements. Question number10 is positive correlated with halimeter measurements. And question number 11, 12, 14 is positive correlated with VAS. 2) In the 6 categories, constipation is negative correlated with halimeter measurements. Chill is positive correlated with VAS. And Cold-limbs is positive correlated with halimeter measurements. 3) In the 6 weighted score categories, constipation is negative correlated with halimeter measurements. Chill is positive correlated with VAS. And Cold-limbs is positive correlated with halimeter measurements. Conclusions: Further clinical research is necessary in the development of the questionnaire's items. And to get the better of this study, we should research more analytic method made casual relationship clear between Cold-Heat attributes and the index of halitosis.

Objectives: The climate crisis has arrived and heat-related illnesses are increasing. It is necessary to discover new high-heat risk industries and understand the environment . It is also necessary to prioritize risks of industries that have not been included in the management target to date. The study was intended to monitor and evaluate the thermal risk of high-priority workplaces. Methods: A prioritization method was developed based on five factors: occurrence of and death due to heat-related illnesses, work environment monitoring, indoor work rate, small heat source, and limited heat dissipation. it, was applied to industrial accidents caused by heat-related illnesses. Wet bulb temperature index and apparent temperature were measured in July and August at 24 workplaces in seven industries and assessed for thermal risk. Results: The wet bulb temperature index was in the range of 23.8~31.9℃, and exposure limits were exceeded in the growing of crops, food services activities and accommodation, and building construction. The apparent temperature was in the range of 26.8~36.7℃, and exceeded the temperature standard for issuing heatwave warnings in growing of crops, food services activities and accommodation, warehousing, welding, and building construction. Both temperature index in growing of crops and building construction were higher than the outside air temperature. Conclusions: In the workplace, risks in industries that have not be controlled and recognized through existing systems was identified. it is necessary to provide break times according to the work-rest time ratio required during dangerous time period.

The impact of climate change on agriculture is substantial, especially as global warming is projected to lead to varying temperature and humidity patterns in the future. These changes pose a higher risk for both crops and livestock, exposing them to environmental stressors under altered climatic conditions. Specifically, as temperatures are expected to rise, the risk of heat stress is assessable through the Temperature-Humidity Index (THI), derived from temperature and relative humidity data. This study involved the comparison of THI collected from 10 Korea Meteorological Administration ASOS stations spanning a 60-year period from 1961 to 2020. Moreover, high-resolution temperature and humidity distribution data from 1981 to 2020 were employed to generate high-resolution TH I distributions, analyzing temporal changes. Additionally, the number of days characterized by heat stress, derived from TH I, was compared over different time periods. Generally, TH I showed an upward trend over the past, albeit with varying rates across different locations. As TH I increased, the frequency of heat stress days also rose, indicating potential future cost increases in the livestock industry due to heat-related challenges. The findings emphasize the feasibility of evaluating heat stress risk in livestock using THI and underscore the need for research analyzing THI under future climate change scenarios.
Experiments on the combustion characteristics of untreated wood specimens and those treated with four types of silicone compounds were carried out using a cone calorimeter according to the ISO 5660-1 standard. 3-Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APTMS), 3-(2-aminoethylamino) propylmethyldimethoxysilane (AEAPMDMS), and 3-(2-aminoethylamino) propyltrimethoxysilane (AEAPTMS) were used as the silane compounds. The flame retardants were synthesized with sodium silicate and amino silane compounds. The measured time to ignition after combustion at an external heat flux of $50kW/m^2$ was 9 s to 11 s. Time to ignition was marked with a delayed value in the 3 s to 5 s range. The peak heat release rate ($HRR_{peak}$) was reduced by 5 to 20% compared with the uncoated specimen, and AEAPMDMS showed the highest initial fire risk. The total heat release (THR) was decreased by 1 to 22%. Compared to the untreated specimen, the fire performance index (FPI) of the specimens coated with silicone sol compounds increased by 1.5 to 2.2 fold. The fire growth index (FGI) of the AEAPMDMS specimen was increased by 30% and the others were decreased by 93 to 94%. Therefore, the fire risk of wood coated with silicone compounds was improved in terms of the heat risk properties.
In this study, we have performed several tests for composite plastic materials to be applied on interior materials of a vehicle to identify their combustion characteristics using cone calorimeter, smoke density chamber and toxicity index chamber. We have prepared a total of 12 samples for 4 major parts of a vehicle wherein each major part has 3 different materials. The results of cone calorimeter test showed ignition time of PVC sheet and PVC leather were 2s. The 8 samples showed under less than 10s of ignition time. The sample comprising Nylon and PE had the biggest maximum heat release rate of 635 $kW/m^2$. The sample comprising Rubber showed the smallest maximum heat release rate but with the biggest total heat release. The results of smoke density chamber test showed the sample that is made up with Rubber had the biggest specific optical smoke density. The sample comprising PVC leather and PUR showed the biggest VOF4 which enables the initial smoke production. The results of toxicity index test showed that all samples contained carbon dioxide content exceeding its lethal concentration. The sample comprising PVC showed high content of hydrogen chloride and hydrogen bromide. The PVC sheet showed the biggest toxicity index calculated by using lethal concentration and test results. Toxicity index of all sample wes over 1.
Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between Cold-Heat pattern tendency and demographic traits, physical character, and vital signs in hypertensive patients taking anti-hypertensive agents. Methods : 28 hypertensive patients 30 to 69 years old were recruited. We assessed their general characteristics, physical characteristics (height, weight, waist circumference, etc.), vital signs without respiratory rate (blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature) and administered a Cold-Heat pattern questionnaire. After that, we analyzed statistical data on separate groups according to Cold-Heat characteristics or other criteria. Results : 1. Heat group patients had statistically higher scores in waist, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference and pulse rate. 2. Over weighted group patients had statistically lower scores in cold Pattern Identification. 3. Higher BMI group (above 23/25) patients had statistically significantly higher Heat scores and lower Cold scores, higher waist circumference group patients had lower Cold scores. Conclusions : From the above result in hypertensive patients taking hypertensive agents, Heat group had a obesity tendency and the inverse is also valid. Later, progressed study based on more samples and varied data will contribute to diagnosis the Cold-heat Pattern identification in hypertensive patients.

The objectives of this paper investigate the effect of installed spacing on the activation of spot type heat detection devices. The flow of hot gases under a ceiling resulting from the impingement of a fire plume activates heat detectors and sprinklers. Local temperature and velocity in this ceiling jet are usually expressed with the function of a ceiling height, the distance from a fire location and the heat release rate of fire. And detectors having different. RTI respond in different ways to the same temperature and velocity of ceiling jet. Thus great care should be taken to decide installed spacing of heat detection devices by considering above effects.
