Purpose : This study aims to identify the factors influencing health-related quality of life through machine learning of the general characteristics of patients with hypertension and to provide a basis for related research on patients, such as intervention strategies and management guidelines in the field of physical therapy for health promotion. Methods : Annual data from the second Korean Health Panel (Version 2.0) from 2019 to 2020, conducted jointly by the Korea Health and Social Research Institute and the National Health Insurance Service, were analyzed (Korea Health Panel, 2024). The data used in this study was collected from January to July 2020, and the data was collected using computer-assisted face-to-face interviews. Of the 13,530 household members surveyed, 1,368 were selected as the final study participants after removing missing values from 3,448 individuals diagnosed with hypertension by a doctor. Results : The results showed that walking (P2) was the most significant factor affecting health-related quality of life in random forest, followed by perceived stress (HS1), body mass index (BMIc), total household income (TOTc), subjective health status (SRHc), marital status (Marr), and education level (Edu). Conclusion :To prevent and manage chronic diseases such as hypertension, as well as to provide customized interventions for patients in advanced stages of the disease, research should be conducted in the field of physical therapy to identify influencing factors using machine learning. Based on the findings of this study, we believe that there is a need for additional content that can be utilized in the field of physical therapy to improve the health-related quality of life of patients with hypertension, such as diagnostic assessment and intervention management guidelines for hypertension, and education on perceived stress and subjective health status.
This study was conducted to detect the factors related to preventive health behavior of male office workers. 135 questionnaires were collected from April 20 to May 8, 1997. The collected data were analysed by using the statistic package of $SPSS/PC^+$. The significant results are as follows; 1. The most influencial factors of preventive health behavior were age, duration of marriage, job satisfaction and health perception. 2. The better preventive health behavior they practiced, the better health status and the lower health risk they showed. 3. We can classifiy preventive health behavior as two groups one is directive and the other is indirective with respect to the exposure of risks.
Purpose: To investigate the attitude, knowledge, and practice of safety and related factors of teachers in child care centers. Methods: The total sample consisted of 116 teachers from child care centers in Kyunggi Province. A questionnaire and checklist were used to collect data, which was analyzed with SPSS 11.5 Win program. Results: Most of the teachers were anxious about child accidents, and thought of safety as a primary concern. The mean score for knowledge on safety was 10.23, and the rate of correct answers ranged from 34.8% to 98.3%. The mean score on practice of safety was 42.01. Teachers with higher education showed significantly higher scores in safety efficacy. Teacher's knowledge on safety was significantly different depending on the experience of safety education, but this did not apply to safety practice. Safety practice was significantly related to confidence in safety performance, health beliefs on safety, stress, and social support, but not related to knowledge of safety. Conclusion: Psychosocial factors were found to be important in safety practice. Related factors found in this study should be considered when providing safety programs for child care centers.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was (a) to synthesize studies of condom use among South Korean college students, and (b) to appraise the quality of each article using Gough's weight of evidence. Methods: Studies published in English and Korean were searched in electronic databases using the terms "student or college student or university student or undergraduate", "condom", and "Korea*". Results: Twenty studies met the inclusion criteria, showed appropriate quality, and were therefore selected for review. The variables related to condom use were measured in terms of condom-related factors, factors related to non-condom-related knowledge and attitudes, and other factors. Knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy were associated with condom use, and there were differences in condom-related factors among men and women. Conclusion: Based on these findings, it was confirmed that sexual education is needed for both men and women to promote condom use. Education on condom use should not only focus directly on condoms, but should also address other aspects of knowledge and attitudes to influence health beliefs. In addition, developing educational programs targeting adolescents and parents will have a positive effect on college students' condom use.
Occupational musculoskeletal disorders currently account for the largest proportion of the occupational illnesses in Korea. In this research, status of musculoskeletal disorders among the occupational illnesses was examined through workers' compensation claims data. Types and characteristics of musculoskeletal disorders were looked at other data set as well. The data sets included epidemiological investigation data reported by Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute, and data collected from occupational disease surveillance reports and Korean occupational health-related scientific journals. Number of cases, incidence rate and insurance benefits for occupational musculoskeletal disorders in Korea are increasing every year. In addition, musculoskeletal disorders occurrence is shifted from large enterprises group to small-and-medium group, from manufacturing to service sector, and from production workers to office and professional workers. Although low back pain is still most common, its occurrence characteristics is gradually shifted from traumatic to cumulative while musculoskeletal disorders are somewhat seemingly moved from lumbar to upper limb body part. Musculoskeletal disorders were observed to be more diverse and prevalent in epidemiological investigations or surveillance data rather in workers' compensation claims data. Musculoskeletal disorders occurrence is related to demographic factors, occupational psychosocial factors, and ergonomic risk factors at workplace for which appropriate preventive measures needed to be made accordingly.
Objectives: This study was conducted to determine factors related to glycemic control among Korean patients with diabetes. Methods: Data was collected from the Fourth (2007-2009) Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) which was a nationwide, cross-sectional survey. The study participants who are available for hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) were 1,441 patients with diabetes aged 30 years and older. Poor glycemic control was defined as $HbA1c{\geq}7.0%$. Data were analysed using logistic regression. Results: The proportion of patients with the poor glycemic control ($HbA1c{\geq}7.0%$) was 49.5%. After adjusting for confounding factors, younger aged persons (30-49 years) were less likely to control the blood glucose than older aged persons (60-69 years) (Adjusted OR=0.533, 95% CI [0.295-0.960]) and longer duration of diabetes was positively related to poor glycemic control (Adjusted OR=2.018, 95% CI [1.418-2.873]). Conclusions: Age and duration of diabetes were significantly related to blood glucose control. Therefore, considering these factors is helpful for developing a strategy to improve blood glucose control in diabetes.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the predictors of health-related quality of life and to examine their effects in frail elderly. Methods: This was a correlation study.
