PC 이용능력이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향: 인터넷서비스 이용의 매개효과를 중심으로 (Analyzing Effects of PC Competence on Life Satisfaction: Emphasis on Mediating Role of Internet Service Usage)

  • 농어민 계층은 대표적인 정보소외계층으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 측면에서 농어민 계층들이 PC사용을 통하여 혜택을 받도록 하는 것은 국가정책의 하나가 되어 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 2017년 디지털정보격차 실태조사의 자료를 토대로 농어민 계층의 PC이용능력이 그들의 삶의 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하고자 한다. 특히 인터넷서비스 이용의 매개역할을 검증한다. 경로모형을 토대로 분석한 결과, PC이용능력은 삶의 만족도에 유의한 긍정적 영향을 주는 것이 확인되었다. 또한 인터넷서비스 이용은 PC이용능력과 삶의 만족도와의 관계에서 부분적으로 매개효과를 가지고 있었다. 이를 통해 정부는 농어민의 PC이용능력 배양과 동시에 인터넷서비스 이용을 적극 권장하여 삶의 만족도가 향상될 수 있도록 할 필요가 있다. 향후 연구에서는 위계적 선형모형을 적용하여 지역별 차이를 고려한 세밀한 정책적 연구를 제안한다.

여성 청소년 어머니의 인유두종바이러스 예방접종 예측요인 (Predictors of Human Papillomavirus Vaccination of female Adolescent mothers)

  • 본 연구는 건강신념모델을 근거로 인유두종바이러스(human papillomavirus: HPV) 예방접종 행위 모형의 적합도를 검증하고자 시도되었다. 연구 대상자는 여성 청소년 어머니 285명이며, 자료 수집은 2017년 6월부터 9월까지 하였다. 자료는 SPSS 및 AMOS 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 여성 청소년 어머니의 지각된 유익성은 의도를 완전 매개하여 예방접종 행위에 영향을 주고, 지각된 장애성은 의도를 부분 매개하여 예방접종 행위에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 예방접종 의도는 예방접종 행위를 예측하는 중요한 변수였고 지각된 장애성은 예방접종 행위에 가장 큰 영향요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 여성 청소년 어머니의 HPV 예방접종 과정의 이해를 증진시키고 예방접종률을 높이는 새로운 전략 개발에 도움이 될 것이다.

Will CFD ever Replace Wind Tunnels for Building Wind Simulations?

  • The use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is becoming an increasingly popular means to model wind flows in and around buildings. The first published application of CFD to both indoor and outdoor building airflows was in the 1970's. Since then, CFD usage has expanded to include different aspects of building design. Wind tunnel testing (WTT) on buildings for wind loads goes back as far as 1908. Gustave Eiffel built a pair of wind tunnels in 1908 and 1912. Using these he published wind loads on an aircraft hangar in 1919 as cited in Hoerner (1965 - page 74). The second of these wind tunnels is still in use today for tests including building design ($Damljanovi{\acute{c}}$, 2012). The Empire State Building was tested in 1933 in smooth flow - see Baskaran (1993). The World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City were wind tunnel tested in the mid-sixties for both wind loads, at Colorado State University (CSU) and the [US] National Physical Laboratory (NPL), as well as pedestrian level winds (PLW) at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) - Baskaran (1993). Since then, the understanding of the planetary boundary layer, recognition of the structures of turbulent wakes, instrumentation, methodologies and analysis have been continuously refined. There is a drive to replace WTT with computational methods, with the rationale that CFD is quicker, less expensive and gives more information and control to the architects. However, there is little information available to building owners and architects on the limitations of CFD for flows around buildings and communities. Hence building owners, developers, engineers and architects are not aware of the risks they incur by using CFD for different studies, traditionally conducted using wind tunnels. This paper will explain what needs to happen for CFD to replace wind tunnels. Ultimately, we anticipate the reader will come to the same conclusion that we have drawn: both WTT and CFD will continue to play important roles in building and infrastructure design. The most pressing challenge for the design and engineering community is to understand the strengths and limitations of each tool so that they can leverage and exploit the benefits that each offers while adhering to our moral and professional obligation to hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public.

지역약사의 시리즈형 OTC 약물에 대한 약사의 직능 수행에 대한 평가 (Relationship between the Series named OTC Products and Pharmacist's Professional Workloads in Community Pharmacy)

  • Background: Currently, the over-the-counter (OTC) drug market is flooded with series OTC products. The pharmacist must follow the OTC product's indication, given that the most critical role of a pharmacist is the right selection and recommendation of an OTC drug for a patient's symptoms in a dynamic pharmacy environment. Therefore, pharmacists must know each OTC product information precisely to avoid any ambiguity due to several OTC series brand names. Objective: We evaluated the risk and effectiveness of OTC series medicines. Methods: From December 5 to December 18, 2019, an online survey was conducted among 145 community pharmacists. Results: A total of 51.0% of pharmacists knew the difference between products named in a series and could explain it spontaneously. Only 0.7% of the pharmacists admitted to not knowing the difference between products named in a series. While 42.9% of pharmacists who owned a pharmacy opined that the OTC medicines named in a series have health benefits for patients, 50.0% of employee pharmacists admitted that they were rather confused because there are several OTC series medicines. In contrast, 69.2% of pharmacists who owned pharmacies and 72.2% of employee pharmacists admitted that OTC series drugs with names similar to popular OTC drugs sell better. Conclusion: While pharmacists had different opinions regarding OTC series drugs per employment status, they opined that OTC series are more helpful in pharmacy management than completely new brand names. Further studies in this regard are needed.

한방의료기관 이용자 중 근골격계질환자와 비근골격계질환자의 인식도 및 만족도 특성연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of the Awareness and Satisfication Level of Musculoskeletal Patients and Non-Musculoskeletal Patients that Use Korean Medical Institutions)

  • Background : The study aimed at examining the awareness and satisfaction level of Korean medicine treatment of musculoskeletal patients and non-musculoskeletal patients. Method : The frequency and percentage were calculated to identify the overall characteristics, and to identify the characteristics of the respondents who visited the hospital to treat musculoskeletal diseases and those who visited for the treatment of non-musculoskeletal diseases, the correlation between the variables was analyzed using the chi-square analysis (χ2-test). Furthermore, analysis items were compared depending on detailed diseases within the musculoskeletal disorder (lumbar pain, sprains, arthritis, frozen shoulders, spondylitis, disc) Result : Respondents who used Korean medicine for the purpose of treating musculoskeletal diseases had answered that costs involved in Korean medicine was expensive, and answered that herbal decoction was the preferred Korean medicine treating method for expanding health insurance benefits. Regarding the safety awareness of Korean medicinal herbs, responses that said it was safe was high, and their willingness to use and recommend Korean medicine in future was also high. Respondents who used Korean medicine for the purpose of treating musculoskeletal diseases said they were overall satisfied along with the attitude of Korean medical doctors, treatment results, and costs of treatments. Conclusion : The study was aimed at securing basic data to indirectly identify the national demand for Korean medicine, through investigating the level and degree of differences that exist in the perception and satisfication level and further find a point where policy intervention is possible in future.

The Effects of Total Mixed Ration Feeding with High Roughage Content on Growth Performance, Carcass Characteristics, and Meat Quality of Hanwoo Steers

  • This study investigated the dietary effect of total mixed ration (TMR) based on high roughage content on the growth performance, carcass characteristics, and meat quality of Hanwoo steers. Twenty-four Hanwoo steers (average body weight, 195.3±4.7 kg; age, 8.5 mon) were randomly allocated to three experimental groups according to forage and concentrate ratio (DM basis): 25:75 (control), 50:50 (T50), and 70:30 (T70). Productivity in the fattening period and final body weight were significantly higher in the control. Average daily gain and feed conversion ratio were the same among treatments. Serum parameters, cholesterol, blood urea nitrogen, and total protein were higher in the control. Carcass weight was comparable in the control and T50 but feeding more roughage was significantly correlated with a higher intramuscular fat. Shear strength and drip loss were higher while n-6/n-3 was lower in T70 compared to the other groups. However, meat color was not significantly different among treatments. In terms of free amino acid contents, glutamic acid and glycine were higher in the control than T50 and T70. Overall, feeding Hanwoo steers with high forage content TMR had the lowest n-6/n-3 ratio of fatty acid content but highest intramuscular fat, shear strength, and drip loss. High forage content TMR is the best feed for Hanwoo steers that gives more benefits for human health and consumption but also provides the best meat grade and quality, which is important in the beef market in Korea.

도로 자산관리를 위한 상태 모니터링 및 경제성 분석 : 세종시를 중심으로 (Infrastructure Health Monitoring and Economic Analysis for Road Asset Management : Focused on Sejong City)

  • 본 연구에서는 세종시 포장도로 구간을 대상으로 모바일매핑시스템(MMS)과 딥러닝 균열 감지시스템을 활용한 도로포장 모니터링 방안을 제시하고 경제성 분석을 통한 최적 유지보수 공법을 제시하였다. 나아가, 기존 대부분의 연구에서는 도로포장 조사 차량에 의해 취득된 데이터를 활용한 사례가 대부분이었으나 본 연구에서는 직접 모니터링 조사를 통해 취득한 도로 포장 상태등급을 기준으로 경제성 분석을 실시하였다. 도로포장 상태 모니터링 결과 일반국도, 시도, 지방도의 순서대로 도로포장 상태가 양호한 것을 확인하였다. 또한 포장파손모델을 활용한 경제성 분석 결과, 예방적 유지보수공법인 마이크로서페이싱 공법을 적용하는 것이 유지보수비용과 이용자 편익 측면에서 가장 경제적인 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 성과는 지자체의 기반시설 관리계획 수립을 위한 기초적 자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

Qualitative attributes of meat from Teramana goat kids, an Italian native breed of the Abruzzo region

  • Objective: The aim of this work was the characterization of the qualitative aspects of meat obtained from Teramana goats, an Italian indigenous breed of the Abruzzo region. Specifically, the study included a comparison with meat samples deriving from Saanen goat kids reared in the same environment and applying the same feeding protocol. Methods: Upon reaching about 7 months of age the animals were slaughtered and samples of muscle tissue were collected to be analyzed. Specifically, meat samples were subjected to evaluations of the physical parameters, including color and the meat ability to retain water, in addition to chemical evaluations that were focused to the determination of the total lipids amount, fatty acids composition, lipid oxidation, and volatile profile. Results: The meat samples obtained from the indigenous breed showed a less intense reddish color and no significant variations for the muscle tissue tendency to retain water, both regarding fresh and cooked meat. Several differences were instead observed in the fatty acid profile. The Teramana samples were richer in saturated fatty acids (p<0.01) and interestingly showed higher concentrations of rumenic acid (p<0.05), a conjugate of linoleic acid that has been associated with important health benefits for the consumers. Another important finding for these meat samples was the marked resistance to oxidative events, as evidenced by the thiobarbituric acid reactive substances-test (p<0.05) and by the characterization of the volatile profile that highlighted a strong reduction in the relative percentage of hexanal (p<0.05), commonly associated to lipid oxidation and the development of unpleasant aromatic notes. Conclusion: The collected data, therefore appeared useful for the valorization of the food product derived from the Teramana goat, although no sensory information has been collected to define the degree of acceptability by the consumers.

일부지역 장애인구강진료센터 이용 만족도에 미치는 요인 (Factors affecting the satisfaction of persons with disabilities at community oral care centers)

  • Background: To identify the factors that affect the current status and satisfaction of people with disabilities at community oral care centers. Methods: A structured self-administered survey, including five questions on facility environment, five on usage procedure, four on medical skill, four on care cost, three on friendliness, and three on satisfaction, was administered to 218 residents of the G-disabled community care center. It comprised a Likert 5-point scale (strongly agree, 5 points; agree, 4 points; moderate, 3 points; disagree, 2 points; not at all, 1 point). The reliability of the measurement tool was 0.932 for Cronbach's α. Results: The evaluation of community oral care centers for the disabled showed that the environment was hygienic (4.42±0.73), reservation system was well maintained (4.18±0.95), and the dentist-in-charge was satisfied with the treatment (4.37±0.62). The participants agreed that the details were sufficiently explained (4.29±0.71). However, in terms of medical expenses, the score of "have fully heard the explanation of medical expenses and reductions" was 3.88±0.92. The factors affecting satisfaction were sex, final educational background in the facility environment, usage procedure, and medical skill. Conclusion: To increase the satisfaction of people with disabilities at community oral care centers, it is necessary to establish a facility environment and service according to the patients' need and increase the reduction or exemption benefits between different treatment cost categories. Oral health management policies for the disabled should be developed based on these factors, so that the oral care of vulnerable groups in blind spots can be maintained.

In vitro screening of extracts from 38 marine animal resources for novel cosmeceutical activities

  • Marine resources have various biological activities and their constituents are more novel than those of land organisms. Several biologically active constituents have been found in marine organisms. Recently, many studies have reported that marine animals (MAs) can be used as functional ingredients in functional foods or nutraceutical due to their health benefits. However, no studies have extensively investigated the cosmeceutical activities of MAs extracts. Here, 70% ethanol extracts of 38 MAs were investigated for their activities of whitening and anti-aging properties for use as materials in novel cosmeceuticals. Anti-aging activities were determined by skin aging-related enzyme activities (anti-collagenase, anti-elastase, anti-hyaluronidase) and whitening activities (anti-tyrosinase, anti-3,4-dihydroxyl-L-phenylalanine [DOPA] oxidation) evaluated by colorimetric method. Among the 38 MAs, we found that Urechis unicinctus and Petrosia corticata extracts showed the strongest inhibitory effects against tyrosinase and DOPA oxidation, respectively. Our results additionally showed that Protankyra bidentata extract might provide a major source of anti-hyaluronidase and anti-elastase; meanwhile, anti-collagenase effects were similar in most MAs. Overall, these results suggest that extracts of marine animals have potential as a tyrosinase, collagenase, elastase, and hyaluronidase inhibitors. Taken together, MA resources could be considered as a novel cosmeceutical agent to be applied in cosmetic industry.
