This paper presents a model-based method for detecting and diagnosing some faults in the cooling tower of healing, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems. A simple model for the cooling tower is employed. Faults in cooling tower operation are detected through the deviations in the values of system characteristic parameters such as the heat transfer coefficient-area product, the tower approach, the tower effectiveness, and fan power. Three distinct faults are considered: cooling tower inlet water temperature sensor fault, cooling tower pump fault, and cooling tower fan fault. As a result, most values of the system characteristics parameter variations due to a fault are much higher or lower than the values without faults. This allows the faults in a cooling tower to be detected easily using above methods. The diagnostic rules for the faults were also developed through investigating the changes in the different parameter due to each faults.

The application of natural elements provide a health of office workers. The result will show that, with application of the natural element, the rest space will be more powerful for health of workers. And also combination of natural element and geometric pattern will be very useful to prepare healing environment on the rest space
There are a wide variety of semi-solid ointments used for healing the skin diseases, whose therapeutic and skin penetration abililties may greatly differ from one another depending on the compositions of ointment vehicles. A computer optimization technique was applied to obtain the optimum formula of o/w type ointment giving the in vitro maximum absorption rate through hairless rat skin membrane. Some of the formulations were selected to find out a relationship between skin penetration of ointment and its Theological characteristics. The experimental value of absorption rate obtained from the ointment by optimum formula agreed well with the theoretical value obtained from a polynomial regression analysis, Three kinds of ointments selected among 15 formulations were obtained with a concentric cylinder type rheometer (Model; Rheolab SM-HM Physica, Germany) at 20, 30, 40 and $50^{\circ}C$ for rheograms of rhelolgical properties of o/w type ointments. As the temperature was raised, all products showed a decrease in both shear stress and yield values. The higher skin penetration, the lower shear stress showed.

We have investigated the generation of pretilt angle for a nematic liquid crystal (NLC) alignment with in-situ photoalignment method on polyimide (PI) surfaces using thin plastic substrates. The LC aligning capabilities and pretilt angle of the thin plastic substrates by in-situ photoalignment method were better than that of the glass substrate by general photoalignment. Also, the LC pretilt angle increased with increasing healing temperature and exposure time.

Purpose: In treating diabetic foot ulcers, satisfactory vascularity is an essential prerequisite. To improve vascularity, a bypass graft has long been carried out. Recently, however, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) has also been tried since the PTA is less invasive than the bypass graft. However, publication demonstrating the improvement of vascularity after the PTA are lacking. Therefore, this study was designed to show usefulness of the PTA in treating vasculopathy of diabetic foot. Materials: and Methods This study included 30 feet of 24 ischemic diabetic foot patients. Inclusion criteria were diabetes (duration > 5 years) and a significant lower extremity ischemia, as determined by a transcutaneous oxygen pressure ($TcpO_2$) < 30 mmHg. The PTA was carried out in 61 arteries. PTA procedure was considered successful, when residual stenosis was less than 30%. The procedure was considered failed when residual stenosis was more than 50%. Residual stenosis between 30% and 50% was considered acceptable. For evaluation of PTA effect, foot $TcpO_2$ and infrared thermography were measured before and 7th day after PTA. Results: Immediately after PTA performed in 61 arteries, 58 and 3 arteries were evaluated as being successful and acceptable, respectively. Before PTA, average foot $TcpO_2$ was $12.6{\pm}8.8$ mmHg and its value was increased to $44.2{\pm}23.9$ on 7th day after PTA (p<0.01). Average skin temperature was $31.8{\pm}1.2^{\circ}C$ before PTA and it was increased to $33.5{\pm}1.1^{\circ}C$ on 7th day after PTA (p<0.01). Conclusion: PTA procedure increases tissue oxygenation of ischemic diabetic feet which do not have wound healing potential due to low tissue oxygenation, to the level of possible wound healing. In addition, PTA increases skin temperature of ischemic diabetic feet which can imply an improvement of peripheral circulation.
Objectives: This study was conducted to provide scientific and effective information on phytoncides, which are associated with forest healing, and to activate recreational forests. Methods: The target sites were natural recreation forests, a forest park and an arboretum, and the control sites were three urban parks. The samples were collected at a volume of 6.0 L and a flow rate of 0.1 L/min for one hour using a low volume pump and the solid adsorbent sampling method. The phytoncide compounds adsorbed in the Tenax TA tube were analyzed by a automatic heat desorption unit and GC-MS. Results: By type of recreational forest, the annual concentrations of phytoncide (monoterpene) for the forest park showed the highest concentration with $1.450{\mu}g/m^3$, while those for the arboretum showed the lowest concentration at $0.892{\mu}g/m^3$, and thus the concentration of the forest park was approximately 1.6 times higher than the arboretum. The season showing the highest concentration of phytoncides was summer (June) and the forest park was the highest among the recreational forests. The concentrations of major components for phytoncide showed in descending order: ${\alpha}-pinene$, ${\beta}-pinene$, camphene, 3-carene and limonene. The seasonal concentration of ${\alpha}-pinene$, camphene and ${\beta}-pinene$ by type of recreational forest increased in April, which is characterized by low temperature and humidity, and the seasonal concentration of camphene decreased with higher humidity. The meteorological factors which had the high correlation with the concentration of total terpene were temperature and humidity. $CO_2$ and $O_2$ showed an inverse correlation. Conclusion: The major components of phytoncide were ${\alpha}-pinene$, ${\beta}-pinene$, camphene, 3-carene and limonene in descending order of concentration. Further and systematic study on the chemical nature of individual phytoncides, and on the effect of phytoncides on humans needs to be performed.
In this study, the polyurethane acrylates (PUA) resin with good adhesive and flexibility for adhesive for shoes and clothing were synthesized using that poly(tetramethylene adiphate glycol) (PTAd), poly(tetramethylene ether glycol) (PTMG) as polyester polyol and polyether polyol respectively, including 4,4'-methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), 1,4-butandiol (1,4-BD), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (2-HEMA) and dibutyl amine (DBA). The effect of polyol blend in the polyurethane acrylate on thermal and mechanical properties, adhesion strength and flexural strength were studied. The glass transition temperature (Tg) of PUA was confirmed in range of -70~-40 ℃. In addition, the glass transition temperature (Tg), decomposition temperature (Td), tensile strength adhesion strength and heat resistance were increased as increasing of PTAd amount while the elongation, water resistance and flexural properties were decreased. The synthesized polyurethane acrylate with 5:5 ratio of PTAd and PTMG indicated the highest adhesion strength and flexural properties.
Two kinds of multifilament Bi-2223/Ag tapes, which are different in the precursor calcination temperatures, were heat treated for different time (12, 20, 30, 50, 70, or 100 h) firstly to obtain varied B2223 contents, and then followed by the same pressing and sintering cycles. The relation of the 2223 phase contents after the first sintering and the transport property of the fully processed tapes was studied. The results show that 75-80% 2223 phase formed in tapes before the first cold pressing is beneficial to get a high $I_{c}$ in the final tapes. Compensating the total heat treatment time of the tapes first sintered for 20 h to the same length as that first sintered for 50 h in the subsequent sintering stages, different $I_{c}$ enhancements were observed in these two tapes. No improvement on $I_{c}$ was found in the tape made from the powder calcined at higher temperature, whereas for the tape prepared with the lower temperature calcined powder, the $I_{c}$ was increased to the same level as that first sintered for 50 h. The 2223 contents before the intermediate mechanical work is related to the residual reactants, especially to the liquid phase, which is of vital importance to the phase conversion and healing microcracks, meanwhile, to the size and distribution of the non-superconducting secondary phases. The lower temperature calcined powder resulted in slow formation of 2223 phase, but also provided more reactants and liquid phase for the further phase conversion, as a consequence, for the Improvement of $I_{c}$. c/.
In this study, styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS)-styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) modified asphalt was prepared for waterproof-sheet to measure its properties including softening point, penetration, low temperature flexibility, viscosity and adhesion. Then the properties of SIS-SBS modified asphalt imparted with self-healing were optimized to seek for optimal compositions of SIS and SBS versus asphalt according to response surface methodology (RSM). As the content of SBS or SIS was increased, both properties of softening point and viscosity, measured at high temperature, were increased with a statistical significance. However, the increments of softening point and viscosity per unit content of SBS added, were observed to be greater than those per unit content of SIS added, respectively. It was due to the difference of thermal properties of SBS and SIS at high temperature that the cross-linking degree of SBS was increased by gelation accompanied with the increase of viscosity, while chain-entanglement of SIS was relatively reduced owing to a chain scission of poly(isoprene) blocks causing the decrease of viscosity. To the contrary, SIS-SBS modified asphalt showed a behavior of the least elasticity resulting in both the maximum of penetration and adhesion, measured at room temperature, as well as the lowest low temperature flexibility at the composition of SIS, 4 g and SBS, 8.5 g based on asphalt, 63 g.
Grafting of fruit-bearing vegetables has been widely used to increase the resistance to soil-borne diseases, to increase the tolerance to low temperature or to soil salinity, to increase the plant vigor, and to extend the duration of economic harvest time. After grafting, it is important to control the environment around grafted seedlings for the robust joining of a scion and rootstock. Usually the shading materials and plastic films are used to keep the high relative humidity and low light intensity in greenhouse or tunnel. It is quite difficult to optimally control the environment for healing and acclimation of grafted seedlings under natural light. So the farmers or growers rely on their experience for the production of grafted seedling with high quality. If artificial light is used as a lighting source for graft-taking of grafted seedlings, the light intensity and photoperiod can be easily controlled. The purpose of this study was to develop a prototype system for the graft-taking enhancement of grafted seedlings using artificial lighting and to investigate the effect of air current speed on the distribution of air temperature and relative humidity in a graft-taking enhancement system. A prototype graft-taking system was consisted by polyurethane panels, air-conditioning unit, system controller and lighting unit. Three band fluorescent lamps (FL20SEX-D/18, Kumho Electric, Inc.) were used as a lighting source. Anemometer (Climomaster 6521, KANOMAX), T-type thermocouples and humidity sensors (CHS-UPS, TDK) were used to measure the air current speed, air temperature and relative humidity in a graft-taking system. In this system, air flow acted as a driving force for the diffusion of heat and water vapor. Air current speed, air temperature and relative humidity controlled by a programmable logic controller (UP750, Yokogawa Electric Co) and an inverter (MOSCON-G3, SAMSUNG) had an even distribution. Distribution of air temperature and relative humidity in a graft-taking enhancement system was fairly affected by air current speed. Air current speed higher than 0.1m/s was required to obtain the even distribution of environmental factors in this system. At low air current speed of 0.1m/s, the evapotranspiration rate of grafted seedlings would be suppressed and thus graft-taking would be enhanced. This system could be used to investigate the effects of air temperature, relative humidity, air current speed and light intensity on the evaportranspiration rate of grafted seedlings.
