  • In 21st century, mankind greets an era of ubiquitous computing where physical and virtual space are merged through the innovation of digital and IT(Information Technology), meanwhile ubiquitous computing and network paradigm suggest a new direction which our future educational system should head for. A society where people, computers, and objects can be connected with each other anytime and anywhere, that is, a society of ubiquitous computing where everything in our living space are interconnected by a immense network system may bring a variety of changes into our educational environment in schools. In this study I analysed the forecast of school educational orientation and ubiquitous educational environment and facilities in developed countries, and on the basis of the result, I performed a fundamental work for formation of a ubiquitous classroom environment which is feasible in Korea. In the section of conclusion, I present a model of ubiquitous classroom as a scenario based on ubiquitous computing technology applicable to future classroom environment.

  • Chylous fistula is a rare complication occurring after radical neck dissection. Previous reports on neck dissection described an incidence of about 1% to 2%. We report a case of chylous fistula that occurred after radical neck dissection for squamous cell carcinoma of left lower gingiva and mandible in a 52-year-old man. We successfully managed the fistula by the following conservative measures : bed rest with head elevation, continuation of closed suction drainage, and dietary management to decrease the rate of chyle formation.

  • The freshwater goby, Micropercops swinhonis ($G\"{u}nther$) was studied on the spawning behavior and egg develeopment at the two areas of Chollabukdo, Korea from March to May 1995. Egg mass attached to a layer under stones and the inner wall of waterplant, Cyperus. Spawning behavior was divided in to 1) premating stage: selecting spawning sites and formation of territory by male, 2) mating stage: enticement with zigzag-like dance and intermittant shaking of head by male and fertilization, 3) postmating stage: fanning, guarding and cleaning the nest by male. The eggs were transparent and spherical in shape, measuring $0.9\times1.4mm$ with yellowish yolk sac and many oil globules. Hatching began in about ten days after fertilization at water temperature $16~20^{\circ}C$. The newly hatched larvae were 3.8~4.0 mm in total length with 30 myomeres and their mouths and anuses were opened. Melanophores appeared at the air-bladder and the ventral side of caudal region.gion.

  • n general, the function of intake structure, whether it be a open channel, a fully wetted tunnel, a sump or a tank, is to supply an evenly distributed flow to a pump station. An even distribution of flow, characterized by strong local flow, can result in formation of surface or submerged vortices, and with certain low values of submergence, may introduce air into pump, causing a reduction of capacity and efficiency, an increase in vibration and additional noise. Uneven flow distribution can also increase or decrease the power consumption with a change in total developed head. To avoid these sump problems pump station designers are considered intake structure dimensions, such as approaching upstream, baffle size, sump width, width of pump cell and so on. From this background, flow characteristics of intake within sump are investigated numerically to obtain the optimal sump design data. The sump model is designed in accordance with HI code.

  • The configuration of intake port is a dominant factor of inlet air flow and mixture formation in an engine. In this study, as an available technology to optimum intake port, the flow box system using resine has been applied. So we presents a methodology for estimating inlet flow characteristics in this paper. This quantified experimental result shows good agreements with visualization data in a cylinder. We obtained the optimal value of swirl ratio and flow coefficient under steady flow rig test for new development of intake port for heavy-duty engine. From this results, the cylinder heat with a good evaluated swirl flow characteristics was developed and adapted for a 11L heavy-duty engine using the liquid phase LPG injection (LPLi) system. This .research expects to clarify major factor that make the intake port efficiently.

  • In the presence of synchrotron losses, diffusion of an ensembel of relativistic particles in an intraculster medium is investigated. The diffusion coefficient in the medium is found to be constrained by $28.8\;{\pm}\;0.4\;{\leq}\;Log\;D\;{\leq}\;30.5\;{\pm}\;0.4\;cm^2s^{-1}$ with the energy dependency of $D_0{\varepsilon}^{\mu}$ of ${\mu}=0.4{\pm}0.2$ as the previous observations suggested. As an important implication of the result, the brightest head-tail radio source NGC 4869, whose radio tail structure is indicative for its orbit within the cluster core, is considered to be the major contributor of particles for the formation of the Coma radio halo.

  • Recently, upwelling of anoxic bottom water mass have been frequently observed in northeast part of Tokyo Bay in Japan during summer to autumn. Since the colour of water surface becomes milkyblue or milkygeen, the upwelling phenomenon Is called 'Blue Tide'. The data analysis of field surveys during 'Blue Tide' appearance have been performed for understanding the physical features of the 'Blue Tide' phenomena In Tokyo Bay. It becomes clear that (1) the formation of the anoxic bottom water correlates well with the temperature difference between the surface and bottom waters, (21 there are two necessary conditions for generating 'Blue Tide': that Is, strong stratincation and off-shore wind. The strong southwest(on-shored wand before the 'Blue Tide' appearance may play an iniportant role to make the striancation strengthen. When these conditions are larger and the northeast or east-northeast (off-shored wind stronger than S ifs blows In succession, the 'Blue Tide' upwelling appears at the head of Tokyo Bay.

  • Because of their simplicity, efficiency, and economy, slow sand filters are appropriate means of water treatment for small water systems. Biological activity within the sand bed have the strongest influence on removal efficiency of pollutants by slow sand filtration. This report investigated the microorganisms(algae) of slow sand filtration pilot plant at Y water treatment plant. Data were collected at inflow and slow sand filtration from May to October, 2007. The results indicated that the light exposure was influenced on microorganism in slow sand filtration according to the formation of algal biofilm. The relative contribution of biomass and accumulated particulates to head loss development in slow sand filters requires further study.
