In this paper we concentrate on overall direction of the gaze based on a head pose for human computer interaction. To decide a gaze direction of user in a image, it is important to pick up facial feature exactly. For this, we binarize the input image and search two eyes and the mouth through the similarity of each block ( aspect ratio, size, and average gray value ) and geometric information of face at the binarized image. We create a imaginary plane on the line made by features of the real face and the pin hole of the camera to decide the head orientation. We call it the virtual facial plane. The position of a virtual facial plane is estimated through projected facial feature on the image plane. We find a gaze direction using the surface normal vector of the virtual facial plane. This study using popular PC camera will contribute practical usage of gaze tracking technology.

In this study, forces and moments were measured on a projectile which consisted of a missile configuration body(shell) and a head installed control fins. The shell and the head were separated each other and the shell was rotated by an electric motor. The head rotated reversely against the rotational direction of the shell. The rotational force on the head was obtained from a couple of fixed fins of which angular displacement were set to the rotational direction equally. The air velocity was 40m/s on the experiment and the Reynolds number based on the diameter of head was $1.3{\times}10^5$. The other couple of fins were used to control the position and direction of the projectile by changing the angular displacement. From this experiment, the variation of force and moment were measured on the rotating projectile, and the effective amplitude and frequency were obtained through the FFT analysis.
It is well recognized that a excessive temperature gradient from the junction of head to skirt in axial direction in a hot pressure vessel can cause unpredicted high thermal stress at the junction and/or in axial direction of a skirt. this thermal stress resulting from axial thermal gradient may be a major cause of unsoundness of structural integrity. In case of cyclic operation of hot pressure vessels, the thermal stress becomes one of the primary design consideration because of the possibility of fracture as a result of cyclic thermal fatigue and progressively incremental plastic deformation. To perform thermal stress analysis of the junction and cylindrical skirt of a vessel, or, at least, to inspect quantitatively the magnitude and effect of thermal stress, the temperature profile of the vessel and skirt must be known. This paper demonstrated the temperature distribution and thermal stress analysis for the junction of skirt to head using F.E. analysis. Effect of air pocket in crotch space was quantitatively investigated to minimize the temperature gradient causing the thermal stress in axial direction. Effect of the skirt height on thermal stresses was also studied. Analysis results were compared with theoretical formulas to verify th applicability to the strength calculation in design field.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of postural sway on the kinematic variables of the putter head during golf putting and to provide information to the importance of postural sway control in the putting stroke for novice golfers. Method: The center of pressure (CoP) and Kinematics variables of the putter head were calculated during 2 m flat golf putting using 8 motion capture cameras (250 Hz) and 2 force plate (1,000 Hz). SPSS 24.0 was used to perform Pearson's correlation coefficient and simple regression analysis, and the statistically significance level was set to .05. Results: As a result of analyzing the correlation between CoP variables and the putter head rotation angle, the CoP moving length, CoP moving range (ML direction), and CoP moving velocity (ML direction) showed a positive correlation with the putter head rotation angle (yaw axis) and were statistically significant. Conclusion: Therefore, In order to perform the accurate putting stroke maintaining the ball's directionality, it is determined that it is important to control posture sway in the ML directions by minimizing the movement and velocity of the CoP.

In this paper, we propose a method which recognizes human activity using model-based gaze direction estimation in an indoor environment. The method consists of two steps. First, we detect a head region and estimate its gaze direction as prior information in the human activity recognition. We use color and shape information for the detection of head region and use Bayesian Network model representing relationships between a head and a face for the estimation of gaze direction. Second, we recognize event and scenario describing the human activity. We use change of human state for the event recognition and use a rule-based method with combination of events and some constraints. We define 4 types of scenarios related to the gaze direction. We show performance of the gaze direction estimation and human activity recognition with results of experiments.

This research demonstrates the transient response of a head disk assembly subjected to a half-sine shock pulse in the axial direction. In case of disk analysis, the numerical method presented by Barasch and Chen is used. Galerkin method is used with mode shape by numerical method. head-suspension system is modeled by the cantilever in order to get simulation results. Simulation results about total system of HDA are calculated by Runge-Kutta method.

The aim of this study was determine to effect of shaft length and physical condition on golf driving performance(head speed, distance and direction). A range of drivers with length between 44 inch, 45 inch and 46 inch limit imposed by R&A rules limited were assembled and evaluated. Club head speed and drive distance and accuracy were determined three category 27 PGA pro golfer (handicaps 0, and height $170cm{\geq}171-175{\geq}175-180cm$) who golf performance. As a results follow : Head speed was significantly difference with 44, 45 between 46inch(p<.01). Distance was significantly difference with 44 between 46inch(p<.05). And direction was significantly difference with 44, 45inch between 46inch(p<.05). Head speed according to height was general similarity among shaft length in 170cm, 171-175cm. Distance were general similarity among shaft length in 170cm, and significantly difference with 44inch between 46inch in 171-175cm(p<.01), and significantly difference with 45inch between 46inch in 176-180cm(p<.05). Direction were significantly difference with 44inch between 46inch in 170cm(p<.05), but do not significantly difference with 44inch between 46inch in 176-180cm, 176-180cm. These results show that shaft length and height can affect head speed, distance and direction.

In recent years, a large number of study for rear impact has been conducted and as a result of study, researchers proposed the neck injury criteria and test procedures. But many questions, related to injury criteria and dummy biomechanical levels, remain unresolved. In recently reports, rear impact motions of BioRIDIIg is not humanlike but better than other dummy(HybridIII, RID3d). So, in this paper, 4 times sled test would be done to find the substitutable neck injury criteria in BioRIDIIg. To review corelation trend with neck injury critera and head-neck movement, we compared with recently announced neck injury criteria(NIC, Nkm, T1 ect.) and head-neck X-direction movement in BioRIDIIg. Finally, we find the head-neck X-direction movement on head C.G to T1 point may be considerable as the additional neck injury criteria.
