  • This study used survey research method to identify factors affecting suicidal ideation in adolescents. The results of this study are as follows. First, it is necessary to narrow the psychological distance between the parents and the adolescents, to make efforts in each family to be more harmonious within the family, and to reduce consciously the physical and verbal violence which is sometimes unintentionally applied between the parents. Second, when adolescents attempt suicide, counseling agencies in schools, educational institutions, and local communities should be able to respond effectively to adolescent crisis situations, and follow-up measures such as suicide prevention education and suicide attitude education must be conducted Efforts should be made to reduce juvenile delinquent suicide and impulsive suicidal thoughts. Third, when developing adolescent suicide prevention and related programs, differentiated programs and suicide prevention education should be tried. Fourth, I think that it is necessary to prevent the suicidal thoughts of adolescents by early detection and intervention of high - depression adolescents by establishing a system that can be applied to adolescents out of school.

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the usefulness of kinetic House- Tree- Person drawing as a diagnostic measure for the degree of self-differentiation, which is an essential part of college students' development. Participants for the study were four hundred thirty five(272 male and 163 female) university freshmen enrolled in 4-year colleges located in Pusan. The Participants completed a scale of self-differentiation and a Kinetic House- Tree-Person drawings test. The evaluation system for kinetic House-Tree-Person drawings was established based on the indexes of Buck(1948) and Bums(1972) and used exiting literatures as reference. The data were analyzed using means, standard deviations, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe's test. The results obtained from the study are as follows: First, the mean level of college students' self-differentiation was 2.81, which is about average. Some significant gender differences were found in the areas of self-intergration, family projection, and emotional separation. Male students scored higher on self-intergration, whereas female students score higher on family projection and emotional separation. Second. self-differentiation was higher when the student drew a house with smoke coming out of the chimney, a single-story house with flat roof, or with detailed description of curtains, roof and roof tiles. Third, self-differentiation seemed to be higher when branches and fruits were included, when there was no expression of roots, when large crowns and branch openings were presented, and when no slant lines or base lines appeared. Forth, self-differentiation showed ㅁ higher level when the portrait shows eyes, mouth and neck without omission, when it included the whole body instead of face only, and when there was no person with just a profile, a back, or with a stiff posture, and when there was no weak and thin lines. Individuality also marked higher if a person was in motion and than one person was added. Finally, self-differentiation showed significant difference according to the overall harmony of the drawing, ordering of contents, hand pressure, the kind and shape of tree, and presence of other persons. The more harmonious the picture was, and the more family members are added, the higher the level of self-differentiation was.

  • The U.S.-China Relations could be analyzed two perspectives and their basis under major international p olitics theory-power transition with conditions: (1) North Korean's nuclear puzzle, (2) THAAD in the Kor ean Peninsula and (3) the U.S.-ROK Alliance. One perspective is the global order dominates the regional order, and then stable regional order comes out. The other is the regional order dominates the global ord er, and China wages a regional hegemonic conflict against the United States. Consequently, America's o verwhelming leadership in North Korean's nuclear, THAAD and U.S.-ROK Alliance as national power is expected to endure. But China also has expected empowerment and cooperation for the peace and stabilit y on the Korean Peninsula military problems. In this perspective, South Korea needs to pay attention to the changing power distribution and competition between the U.S. and China and needs to strengthen a balancing and harmonious diplomatic strategy, so called 'see-saw diplomacy'.

  • This research was to find out the effectiveness of the horticultural therapy program based on the therapeutic factors and the most meaningful experiences of the clients. For this purpose "Green harmony" program focused on harmony through horticulture was implemented. It is based on the preposition that holistic health is promoted with harmonious relationships with oneself, other people, community and nature. The program has three-fold structure: In innermost it deals with the task of the late adolescent, i.e., self identity, secondly the experience of communication and solidarity in the group, and finally extension of interest to the community. For the therapeutic intervention, questions using the metaphor of the activity were given to the clients for the establishment of self-identity, while group activity and the donation of the works let the second and third purpose accomplished. Outdoor activity, 'Tire garden project', has provided the clients with chances of the contact with nature, cooperation with other group members, and a contest to provoke enthusiasm. Also recycling and greening of the community were possible by utilizing old tires for the containers and by donating the final works to the community. For the evaluation of the result, the effect of the program on the stress of the college students was tested, and the most meaningful experiences during the participation to the program were asked to identify the therapeutic factors acknowledged by clients. "Green harmony" program has brought positive effects on the stress of the clients in spite of relatively short period of five weeks. The clients has acknowledged plant/nature contact and interactions between group members for the most meaningful experiences. This research suggests "Green harmony" horticultural therapy program based on the therapeutic factors is highly applicable for the general populations.

  • In implant restorations, it is difficult for the patient to percept any symptoms. In addition, they are absent of shock absorbers, which can lead to mechanical failure if stress distribution is not considered. Since maxillary anterior multiple-implant restorations play a significant role in guiding the functional movement of the mandible by distributing lateral force, it is crucial to form appropriate occlusion. The use of the T-scan system is more advantageous in assessing 'dynamic occlusion', such as the change of occlusion over time, the amount of tooth contact during functional movement, and assessing the occlusion in the less-visible posterior teeth. The case is reported as it has satisfactory results in harmonious anterior guidance of a maxillary anterior multiple-implant restoration using T-scan analysis.

  • This descriptive comparative study was conducted to compare the relationships among self-esteem, self-efficacy, perceived health status and the performance of health promoting lifestyles for nursing and non-nursing students. The sample consisted of 246 nursing students and 166 non-nursing students at an evening class of junior college in T city. The data was collected by a self reporting questionnaire from March 2 to March 17, 1997 and analyzed by SPSS Win. 7.0 program for frequency, mean, percentage, t -test, ANOVA, and a Pearson correlation coefficient. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. The results of the comparison between the two groups was not significantly different for self esteem and perceived health status, but significantly different for self-efficacy. Nursing students had higher scores on self -efficacy than non-nursing students(t=4.621. p<.05). 2. There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups concerning a health promoting lifestyle. Nursing students ($157.73{\pm}20.26$) had higher scores on total health promotion as well as its 8 subscales than non -nursing students ($048.15{\pm}21.51$,), (t=21.074, p<.001). On subscales, nursing students had the highest score in sanitary life(3.22) and the lowest score in professional health maintenance(1.54). Non -nursing students had the highest score in harmonious relationships(3.10) and the lowest score in professional health maintenance (1.48). 3. Performance in a health promoting lifestyle was significantly correlated with such demographic variables as age and grade for nursing students, and types of dwelling for non -nursing students. 4. Perceptions of good health have been positively correlated with health promoting lifestyles. Those persons who rated their health as good showed the highest score, followed by excellent ,average, poor in that order. 5. Performance in health promoting lifestyles was significantly correlated with self-esteem, self-efficacy and, perceived health status. • This paper finds out that the WTO's member countries' environmental measures have sometimes reflected the interests from their domestic industrial fields under the name of environmental protection. For the harmonious linkage between the trade and environments under the WTO mechanism, it is required for the concerned parties to reach the consensus for the measures to be imposed domestically and internationally, as well as the WTO's judicial efforts to make more scientific approach. Such coordination and consensus among the concerned parties to the domestic and international environments would be the efficient way to solve the conflicts between the trade and the environments, together with the WTO's more scientific approach in interpreting and applying the environmental provisions.

  • Color harmony is affected by order of colors or orderly arrangement as well as harmonious colors themselves. In this paper, we show people perceive the degree of harmony differently according to the orderly arrangement of colors. Especially, we use the order of colors in color themes, or color schemes which have been largely used for color selection. We first present the method for harmony calculation of Ou's researches[1][2] and then suggest a method considering minimum color distance of component colors. For a design consisting of multiple colors, we show overall harmony of colors is more important than each harmony of adjacent component colors. By user study, we conclude that the suggested method can enhance the harmony of color theme.
