Draft Proposal of Smart Outdoor Wear upon the Outdoor Wear Functionality Demand (아웃도어 웨어 기능성 요구에 따른 스마트 아웃도어 재킷 설계시안)

  • This study revealed the results related to the functionality of outdoor wear required when man and women in their 30s to 50s engage in outdoor activities. Based on the results of the survey, we proposed composition draft for a smart outdoor jacket with main functions of GPS device and light-emitting device using solar cell and EL. Absorption and release of sweat, functionality regarding rain and wind, and lightweightness, etc. from material functionalities of outdoor wear were found to be important. From function required in clothing for outdoor activity, location tracking, night glow, and lighting functions were found to be most important. For results investigating the necessity of the jacket's location tracking function and lighting function using solar cell, high scores of 3.9~4.0 were given. Purchase intentions for smart outdoor jacket with location tracking and lighting functions devised by this study were fairly positive and most responses indicated that the appropriate purchase price was between 200,000 to 300,000 won while possible problems of this smart outdoor jacket were listed in the order of washing inconvenience, high price, device weight, and discomfort in movement. The draft proposal to integrate with wearable devices for smart outdoor jacket prototype is as follows: Solar cell has been attached to the upper arm but placed inside a transparent pocket which has been detachable for washing convenience while the solar cell and controller have been integrated into a single unit. Using frequent movement exhibited by the arms, EL has been attached along the center line of the raglan sleeve for easy spotting when used as an emergency signal or for night lighting function during outdoor activity. GPS has been attached on the left sleeve so that the person can bend the left arm inward and operate the GPS screen with the right hand while walking or running outdoors.

  • As display devices evolve, computer-based work environments are also becoming better suited to actual application tasks. This paper discusses the development of an architectural design system using the virtual table, which is a table-type projection system. It consists of the interactive VR modeler, the hybrid tracker and the architectural interpreter. The interactive VR modeler offers visual and tactile guide such as grid interaction, a tangible transparent prop and reference objects, so that a user can design architectural 3D models more easily and intuitively on the virtual table. The hybrid tracker includes two types of tracking methods for viewpoint according to the user's view and hand interaction: namely, vision-based tracking and magnetic tracking. The architectural interpreter automatically transforms simple 3D masses into a basic construction form that has architectural knowledge. The proposed system has advantage in the sense that it is suitable for collaboration among several users, allowing them to view graphical objects in stereoscopic view with direct 3D manipulation. Thus, it can be effectively used for architectural simulation and user-participated design.

  • 회전 기기의 이상으로 인하여 발생하는 진동은 축 회전속도의 고주파 성분 (super-harmonic)이나 또는 분수조파 성분(sub-harmonic)으로 나타나는 경 우가 대부분이기 때문에 회전기기의 진동을 주파수 영역에서 해석함에 있어 파워 스펙트럼의 주파수 축을 Hz로 나타내기보다는 축 회전속도의 order로 써 나타내는 것이 매우 유용하다. 스펙트럼을 order로써 나타내기 위해서는 샘플링 시간을 축 회전속도와 동기(synchronization)시켜야 하는데 이 방법으 로는 회전축에 엔코더(encorder)를 부착하여 엔코더에서 발생하는 펄스 신호 를 이용하여 샘플링하는 방법과 order tracking 필터를 이용하는 방법이 있 다. 그러나 전자의 방법은 원하는 회전축마다 엔코더를 부착하여야 하며 경 우에 따라서는 엔코더를 부착하기가 어려운 경우도 있으며, 회전기기의 운전 개시나 종료시처럼 회전속도가 급격히 변화하는 경우에는 낮은 주파수에서 중첩(aliasig)에 의한 오차가 수반될 수도 있다. 후자의 방법은 order tracking 필터 이외에도 여러 부수장비가 필요하며 기준 주파수(즉 회전속 도)가 급격히 변화하는 경우 PLL(phase locked loop)에서 tracking 오차가 발생된다. 최근에 발표된 논문에서 일정한 시간간격으로 샘플링한 데이터들 로부터 신호를 재합성하여 회전축의 속도와 동기가 되도록 재 샘플링함으로 서 스펙트럼의 주파수를 회전속도의 order로써 나타내는 방법을 제시하였다. 그러나 위 논문에서는 신호의 재합성에 필요한 재합성 필터(reconstruction filter)의 설계 방법에 대하여 구체적인 언급이 없이 다만 결과만을 논하였다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 재합성 필터의 설계 방법에 대하여 구체적인 방법을 제시하고 또한 동기화 샘플링의 장점 및 고려 사항에 대하여 고찰하였다. 고려한 능동 소음제어 에 대해 연구하였다. 경량화 추세에 따라 지반이나 케이싱이 경량이거나 유연하여 회전축과 동적으로 연성된 경우 회전축-베어링-지반으로 이루어진 2중구조의 회전축 계 동특성을 해석할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하므로서 회전 기계류의 진동 전반에 걸친 문제점에 대한 그 원인과 현상을 명확히 분석하여 국내의 전기 계류의 보다 신뢰성있는 설계 및 제작자료를 확보하는데 기여할 수 있게 하 였다.존의 small molecular Gd-chelate에 비해 매우 큼을 알 수 있었다.   • The retrodirective array antenna system is operated faster than existing techniques of beamforming due to its less complexity. Therefore, it is effective for beam tracking in the environment of fast vehicle. On the other hand, it also has difficulty in estimating AOA according to multipath environment or multiuser signals. To improve the certainty of estimating AOA), this article proposes hybrid digital retrodirective array antenna systme combined with MUSIC algorithm. In this paper, the digital retrodirective array antenna system is designed according to the number of antenna array by using only one digital PLL which finds angle of delayed phase. And we evaluate the performance of the digital retrodirective array antenna for the high speed tracking application. Performance is studied by simulink when the speed of mobile is 300km/h and the distance between transmitter and receiver is 100m and then we have to confirm the performance of the system in multi path environment. As a result, the mean of AOA (Angle Of Arrival) error is $4.2^{\circ}$ when SNR is 10dB and it is $1.3^{\circ}$ when SNR is 20dB. Consequently, the digital RDA shows very good performance for high speed tracking due to the simple calculation and realization.

  • The task of 3D gesture recognition for controlling equipments is highly challenging due to the propagation of 3D smart TV recently. In this paper, the AdaBoost algorithm is applied to 3D gesture recognition by using Kinect sensor. By tracking time interval trajectory of hand, wrist and arm by Kinect, AdaBoost algorithm is used to train and classify 3D gesture. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can successfully extract trained gestures from continuous hand, wrist and arm motion in real time.

  • A lot of researchers have been investigating interactive portable projection systems such as a mini-projector. In addition, in exhibition halls and museums, there is a trend toward using interactive projection systems to make viewing more exciting and impressive. They can also be applied in the field of art, for example, in creating shadow plays. The key idea of the interactive portable projection systems is to recognize the user's gesture in real-time. In this paper, a vision-based shadow gesture recognition method is proposed for interactive projection systems. The gesture recognition method is based on the screen image obtained by a single web camera. The method separates only the shadow area by combining the binary image with an input image using a learning algorithm that isolates the background from the input image. The region of interest is recognized with labeling the shadow of separated regions, and then hand shadows are isolated using the defect, convex hull, and moment of each region. To distinguish hand gestures, Hu's invariant moment method is used. An optical flow algorithm is used for tracking the fingertip. Using this method, a few interactive applications are developed, which are presented in this paper.

  • Hand written numeral is projected on the 3D space after pre-processing of inputs and it makes a index by tracking of numerals. It computes the distance between extracted every features. It is used by input part of recognition process from the statistical historgram of the normalization of data in order to adaptation from variation. One hundred unmeral patterns have used for making a standard feature map and 100 pattern for the recogintion experiment. The result of it, we have the recoginition rete is 93.5% based on thresholding is 0.20 and 97.5% based on 0.25.

  • This paper presents implementation details of home appliance control system using personal communicator based on LN2440 single board computer, which recognizes hand-gesture of user, controls remote moving device such as mobile home server, robot etc. through delivery of proper control commands. Also, this paper includes details of design and implementation of home gateway and mobile home server. The implemented prototype can be utilized to develop various remote control system including a remote exploration robot, intelligent wheelchair based on general purpose embedded system.

  • Vision-based Human computer interaction is an emerging field of science and industry to provide natural way to communicate with human and computer. Especially, recent increasing demands for mobile augmented reality require the development of efficient interactive technologies between the augmented virtual object and users. This paper presents a novel approach to construct marker-less mobile augmented reality object and control the object. Replacing a traditional market, the human hand interface is used for marker-less mobile augmented reality system. In order to implement the marker-less mobile augmented system in the limited resources of mobile device compared with the desktop environments, we proposed a method to extract an optimal hand region which plays a role of the marker and augment object in a realtime fashion by using the camera attached on mobile device. The optimal hand region detection can be composed of detecting hand region with YCbCr skin color model and extracting the optimal rectangle region with Rotating Calipers Algorithm. The extracted optimal rectangle region takes a role of traditional marker. The proposed method resolved the problem of missing the track of fingertips when the hand is rotated or occluded in the hand marker system. From the experiment, we can prove that the proposed framework can effectively construct and control the augmented virtual object in the mobile environments.

Remote Drawing Technology Based on Motion Trajectories Analysis (움직임 궤적 분석 기반의 원거리 판서 기술)

  • In this paper, we suggest new technology that can draw characters at a long distance by tracking a hand and analysing the trajectories of hand positions. It's difficult to recognize the shape of a character without discriminating effective strokes from all drawing strokes. We detect end points from input trajectories of a syllable with camera system and localize strokes by using detected end points. Then we classify the patterns of the extracted strokes into eight classes and finally into two categories of stroke that is part of syllable and not. We only draw the strokes that are parts of syllable and can display a character. We can get 88.3% in classification accuracy of stroke patterns and 91.1% in stroke type classification.
