Recombinant growth hormone (GH) is an effective treatment for short children who are born small for gestational age (SGA). Short children born SGA who fail to demonstrate catch-up growth by 2-4 years of age are candidates for GH treatment initiated to achieve catch-up growth to a normal height in early childhood, maintain a normal height gain throughout childhood, and achieve an adult height within the normal target range. GH treatment at a dose of $35-70{\mu}g/kg/day$ should be considered for those with very marked growth retardation, as these patients require rapid catch-up growth. Factors associated with response to GH treatment during the initial 2-3 years of therapy include age and height standard deviation scores at the start of therapy, midparental height, and GH dose. Adverse events due to GH treatment are no more common in the SGA population than in other conditions treated with GH. Early surveillance in growth clinics is strongly recommended for children born SGA who have not caught up. Although high dose of up to 0.067 mg/kg/day are relatively safe for short children with growth failure, clinicians need to remain aware of long-term mortality and morbidity after GH treatment.

In recent years the growth rates of world agricultural production and crop yields have slowed because of rapid urbanization but the agriculture mechanization implies the use of various power sources and improved farm tools and equipment to enhance the efficiency of utilization of various crop input. Therefore the current study was conducted to investigate the growth characteristics of seedlings treated with plant growth regulators for the production of seeds suitable for mechanical formulations of soybeans and red beans. The seeds of Uram bean and Arary red bean were sown in 128 well plug tray as the testing varieties. Three growth inhibitors such as 0.05% hexaconazole, prohexadion-calcium, and 0.1% diniconazole were treated and fifteen representative plants were collected from each treatment at 2, 5, 7, 13, 16, 17, 19, and 20 days interval after treatment. The collected plants were examined for the growth atributes such as plant height, root length, leaf area and chlorophyll. The growth promoter was treated at the 13th day after treatment with growth inhibitor and treated with 0.1% concentration of Pomina ($GA_{4+7}$ 1.8% + 6-benzylaminopurine 1.8%) and Nonaji (gibberellic acid 2% + $GA_{4+7}$ 2%). Initially the growth data was recorded to examine the effect of growth inhibitor, while after treatment with growth promoters, the growth attributes were recorded at 4th and 7th day. As a result of measuring the growth parameter of soybean, the inhibitory effect was shown in the aerobic treatment at the ground level at the 7th day after treatment. At the 4th day of growth promoting agents treatment, the stimulation effect of non - treated plants was greater than that of formalin treatments. As a result of measuring the growth attributes of red bean, In the latter part of the growth, at the 4th day after the growth promoter treatment. This study was able to confirm the effective growth regulators and treatment periods for each crop, and it was possible to control the growth of seedlings. Based on these results, it can be expected that the basis of seedling production technology of crops which is necessary for sowing and transplantation mechanization of agriculturle field can be established.
1. Purpose : Clinically I have studied efficacy of herb treatment and development of herb growth palpation about handicapped children for growth. 2. Methods : 165 patients who visited hospital from January, 2000 to January 2001 3. Results : Average growth of children who visited hospital was less than 4cm but boys have grown 9.8cm/year and girls grown 7.8cm/year at average after treatment by herb. 4. Conclusion : In case of decreasing growth to have get less growth hormone, it has confirmed positive effectiveness by herb treatment even if it is normal.

This study was composed of four treatments [no treatment, phosphate + limestone layer treatment, phosphate + sodium bicarbonate + cement layer treatment, and phosphate + sodium bicarbonate + limestone layer treatment] for figuring out vegetation effects on the acid drainage slope. Treated acid neutralizing techniques were effective for neutralizing acidity and vegetative growth in order of [first: phosphate + sodium bicarbonate + limestone layer treatment, second: phosphate + sodium bicarbonate+cement layer treatment, third: phosphate + limestone layer treatment and fourth: no treatment] on the acid drainage slope. We found out that sodium bicarbonate treatment was additory effect on neutralizing acidity and increasing vegetaive growth besides phosphate and neutralizing layer treatments. In neutralizing layer treatments, Limestone layer was more effective for vegetation and acidity compared to cement layer treatment. Cement layer showed negative initial vegetative growth probably due to high soil hardness and toxicity in spite of acid neutralizing effect. Concerning plants growth characteristics, The surface coverage rates of herbaceous plants, namely as Lotus corniculatus var. japonicus and Coreopsis drummondii L were high in the phosphate + sodium bicarbonate + limestone layer treatment while Festuca arundinacea was high in the phosphate + sodium bicarbonate + cement layer treatment. We also figured out that soil acidity affected more on root than top vegetative growth.
Objectives The purpose of this study was to understand the public's perception of Korean medical treatment for growth disorders to develop Korean medicine clinical practice guidelines and critical pathways for growth disorders in children and adolescents. Methods A survey was conducted using an online platform targeting 252 adults aged 19 years from May 16, 2021 to May 17, 2021. The questionnaire consisted of questions about the demographic characteristics of respondents; overall perception, experience, and satisfaction with Korean medical treatment for growth disorders; willingness to use or recommend Korean medical treatment for growth disorders; and points for improvement. Results The overall perception of treatment for growth disorders was 3.30 ± 0.892 on a 5-point scale. Concerning the negative reasons, 54.4% of the respondents were concerned about safety; regarding the positive reason, expectations for overall health as well as height growth were the highest at 46.5%. Additionally, there was a high demand for information, such as providing safety information on treatment, presenting evidence for the efficacy of treatment, and standardized clinical process, as points requiring improvement. Conclusions To raise public perception of Korean medical treatment for growth disorders, it is necessary to satisfy the opinions of the public identified through this survey. Therefore, the development and utilization of Korean medicine clinical practice guidelines and critical pathways for growth disorders would play an important role.
This study investigated the effects of two mycorrhizal fungi, Pisolithus tinctorius and Oidiodendron maius, on the growth and age-specific responses of Korean fir (Abies koreana E.H.Wilson) seedlings. The experiment was conducted from March 2020 to March 2023 at the National Institute of Forest Science in Suwon, South Korea to evaluate plant height, root length, root collar diameter, and biomass in the treatment and control groups. Significant growth increases were observed in all treatment groups compared to the control, with the OI (O. maius) treatment demonstratingthe highest growth increase (p < 0.05). In one-year-old seedlings, the PT (P. tinctorius) treatment demonstrated overall higher growth than the OI treatment and control, with PT demonstrating an approximately 1.3 times increase than OI. The PT and OI treatments both exhibited higher growth than the control in the three-year-old seedlings, with less difference between the two treatments than in the one-year-olds. Both the treatments showed approximately 1.8 times more growth than the control in the five-year-old seedlings, and the OI treatment showed approximately 0.5 times more growth than PT. These results confirm that the OI treatment is generally more effective for the growth of Korean fir seedlings. Although the PT treatment was more beneficial in the one-year-old seedlings, OI was more effective in three-year-old and older seedlings. This suggests that early mycorrhizal inoculation has a significant long-term effecton growth, emphasizing the importance of age-specific mycorrhizal applications in forest conservation and restoration strategies.
This study was conducted to investigate the influence of herbicides, simazine, pendimethalin, propyzamide and asulam on the growth of Zoysia matrella when they are treated at different growth stages of the plant. The reaction of Zoysia matrella to herbicides differed depending on kinds of herbicides, their concentcations, and time of treatment. Simazine at the higher concentration of 600g /l0a exhibited inhibitory effect on leaf dry matter and growth of runner when treated on April 5, 1991. The highest inhibition of leaf and runner was observed in the plot applied on May 23, 1990. The sprouting and growth of Zoysia matrella was not affected by all the concentrations of the herbicides applied on October 23,1991. Pendimethalin did not influence the growth of Zoysia matrella at he treatment of April 5. However, at the treatment of May 23, the number and growth of runner was inhibited although the plant height and leaf dry matter was not affected. When pendimethalin was treated on October 23, the growth of runner was very slightly reduced in the next year. In case of propyzamide, there was no inhibitory effect on the growth of Zoysia matrella regardless of treatment of times, methods, and dosages. Greater inhibition in the growth of Zoysia matrella was observed at higher dosage(1,ll0g /l0a)-treated plot on April 5 and all the concentrations treated on May 23. But, no inhibition was observed on the October 23 treatment.
Korean red ginseng and water extract residue of red ginseng roots were treated with dry heat and incorporated in PDA medium to examine the effect of the materials on induced tolerance against mercury chloride and mycelial growth of Fusarium oxysporum. Ginseng residue was not effective in the inducement of tolerance to mercury chloride regardless of dry heat treatment. However, the heat treatment of ginseng and ginseng residues stimulated the mycelial growth of the fungus. The materials responsible for the detoxification appeared to be water-soluble. The stimulation of the fungal mycelial growth on the media by the heat treatment was highest in the water extract of ginseng. Due to the heat treatment, the mycelial growth was also slightly increased in n-hexane and methanol extracts of ginseng, compared with the ginseng fractions without dry heat treatment.
This study aimed to determine a method for restoring grasslands to forests in mountainous areas. The study was conducted in an area damaged by trampling due to construction activity and herding. Additionally, there were concerns of hindered tree growth due to the alpine region climate, characterized by the low temperatures, drying, and strong winds. Therefore, forest restoration treatments such as tillage, furrow, and shading were performed to improve growth conditions. From July 2021 to April 2023, soil temperature and moisture were monitored for each treatment plot, and changes in the initial growth and survival rate of Abies holophylla were investigated. Both soil temperature and soil moisture showed significantly higher values during the four seasons in the grassland-furrow treatment plot (p < 0.05). Compared to the grassland-control plot, the average soil temperature in winter was as high as 1.1℃, and the soil moisture in summer was as high as 20.3%. Additionally, the survival rate and relative growth rate were the largest in the grassland-furrow treatment plot. The survival rate was 87.5%, the relative growth rate in terms of height was 0.013, and the relative growth rate in terms of diameter at root collar was 0.023, indicating that furrow treatment had a positive effect on the initial survival and growth of seedlings. These results suggest that furrow treatment may be an appropriate restoration method when implementing forest restoration projects in areas where tree growth is challenged.
This study was carried out to investigate the interaction between productivity and light condition and to analyze the material productivity and productive charactaristics under different hours of light in Zoysia japonica. 1. Rate increasement of leaf number and total leaf length was remarkably high at the early growth stage in the control and 9 hour light treatment. The rate gradually decreased as growth proceeded. But 3 hour treatment was very low in the rate from its early growth stage through the whole test period. 2. The increasing rate of leaf area ratio (LAR) in all the experimental plots was remarkably high at the early growth stage after transplanting the grass. The shorter photoperiod resulted remarkable lower increasement of LAR. 3. The rhizome growth rate of the 9 hour photoperiod was high contrast to the 3 hour photoperiod treatment. The increasing rate of node number was also showed similar trend. 4. Chlorophyll content was very high at the 36 days after transplanting and then decreased gradually. Chlorophyll content on 3 hours photoperiod plot severely decreased. The ratio of chlorophyll a to b was decreased significantly at short day treatment. 5. The content of soluble sugar was increased at shorter photoperiod. The highest ratio of sugar content was on August, 28 by HPLC method. Such a result was attributed to accumulation of sugar in spite of low synthesis of ploysacchrides, translocation by low consumption. 6. The increasing rate of standings in all light treatment was high at the early growth stage after transplanting. Short photoperiod treatment by 3hour showed especially low prganic productivity on Zoysia japonica.
