Deep submicron NMOSFETs with elevated source/drain can be fabricated using self-aligned selective epitaxial growth(SEG) of silicon for enhanced device characteristics with shallow junction compared to conventional MOSFETs. Shallow junctions, especially with the heartily-doped S/D residing in the elevated layer, give hotter immunity to Yt roll off, drain-induced-barrier-lowering (DIBL), subthreshold swing (SS), punch-through, and hot carrier effects. In this paper, the characteristics of both deep submicron elevated source/drain NMOSFETs and conventional NMOSFETs were investigated by using TSUPREM-4 and MEDICI simulators, and then the results were compared. It was observed from the simulation results that deep submicron elevated S/D NMOSFETs having shallower junction depth resulted in reduced short channel effects, such as DIBL, SS, and hot carrier effects than conventional NMOSFETs. The saturation current, Idsat, of the elevated S/D NMOSFETs was higher than conventional NMOSFETs with identical device dimensions due to smaller sheet resistance in source/drain regions. However, the gate-to-drain capacitance increased in the elevated S/D MOSFETs compared with the conventional NMOSFETs because of increasing overlap area. Therefore, it is concluded that elevated S/D MOSFETs may result in better device characteristics including current drivability than conventional NMOSFETs, but there exists trade-off between device characteristics and fate-to-drain capacitance.

In the meantime, we need to observe about evolution of Information Technology. Because there is some scholars who e-Learning's concept foresees to evolve by u-Learning.(although, a person who see that these concept is not more in marketing terminology by some scholars' opinion is). This u-Learning's concept means e-Learning that take advantage of ubiquitous technology as Ubiquitous-Learning's curtailment speech. Ubiquitous, user means Information-Communication surrounding that can connect to network freely regardless of place without feeling network or computer. There is controversy about introduction time regarding these direction, but e-Learning is judged to evolve by u-Learning necessarily. Because keep in step and age that study all contents that learner wants under environment of 3A (any time, any whrer, any device) by individual order thoroughly is foreseen to come in ubiquitous learning environment that approach more festinately.

This study was performed at Rice and Winter Cereal Crops Department of NICS during 2007 and 2008 to investigate the characteristics of rice leaf emergence and to obtain basic data which can be used for rice growth simulation model by which we can forecast rice growth stage and heading date accurately under different cultivars, transplanting date, and climatic conditions. To confirm leaf emergence rate according to rice maturing ecotype, we surveyed the leaf emergence rate and heading date of Unkwangbyeo, Hwayoungbyeo and Nampyeongbyeo which are early maturing, medium maturing and medium-late maturing cultivars, respectively, according to seedling raising duration and transplanting time. When seedling duration was 15 days, the growth duration between transplanting time and completion of flag leaf emergence on main culm were 51.5~78.3 days in Unkwangbyeo, 55.3~87.9 days in Hwayoungbyeo and 58.4~98.4 days in Nampyeongbyeo, respectively. When seedling duration was 30 days, they were 50.1~75.5 days in Unkwangbyeo, 52.4~84.7 days in Hwayoungbyeo and 56.4~93.8 days in Nampyeongbyeo, respectively. As transplanting time delayed, the emerged leaf number after transplanting decreased in all rice cultivars. The cumulative temperature between transplanting time to completion of flag leaf elongation on main culm were $1,281^{\circ}C{\sim}1,650^{\circ}C$ in Unkwangbyeo, $1,344^{\circ}C{\sim}1,891^{\circ}C$ in Hwayoungbyeo and $1,454^{\circ}C{\sim}2,173^{\circ}C$ in Nampyeongbyeo, respectively. Leaf emergence rate on main culm were precisely represented by equation, y = $y_0$ + a / [1 + exp( - (x - $x_0$) / b)]^c, when we used daily mean temperature as variable.
This study was aimed to assess the effects of additional installation of two different types of weirs, one is a curtain-type weir and another is a submerged-type weir, on the control of algal growth in Daechung Reservoir. A two-dimensional(2D) coupled hydrodynamic and eutrophication model that can accommodate vertical movement of the curtain weir following the water surface variations was verified using field data obtained in two distinctive hydrological years; dry(2008) and wet(2010). The model adequately simulated the temporal and spatial variations of water temperature, nutrients and algal(Chl-a) concentrations during the periods. The effectiveness of curtain weir on the control of algal bloom was evaluated by applying the model to 2001(dry year) and 2010 assuming 6 different scenarios according to installation locations. The curtain weirs that already installed at 3, 5, 7 sites(scenario C-2) showed significant effect on the control of algal growth in the reservoir; the reduction rates of algal concentration were placed in the range of 7.5~31.5% and 9.1~44.9% for 2001 and 2010, respectively. However the simulation results revealed that additional installation of curtain weirs(scenario C-3~C-6) in the bay area (choosori) have marginal effect. The effectiveness of submerged weir was evaluated against 2010 assuming 7 different scenarios according to installation locations, but all scenarios(S-1~S-7) showed neglectable or negative effect on the control of algal growth.
Background and objective: The purpose of this study was to provide basic data on trees that can be used for planting design and construction for permanently shaded areas by grasping the growth status of trees according to the daylight conditions of the outdoor spaces of apartment complexes. Methods: On the recently completed apartment complexes, daylight conditions were analyzed by using daylight simulations utilizing Solar Access Analysis of Ecotect Analysis. With a criteria for assessment of tree condition, the defect rate of trees planted in permanently shaded areas and green spaces with good daylight conditions was analyzed to suggest trees applicable to permanently shaded areas. The first tree survey was conducted from November 18, 2019 to February 15, 2020, focusing on trees planted in permanently shaded areas, and the second tree survey of all the trees planted on the study sites including permanently shaded areas was conducted from March 16 to March 30, 2020. Results: Evergreen trees which are classified as shade intolerant trees including Pinus densiflora, Thuja occidentalis, and Abies holophylla showed a higher defect rate of trees among the trees planted in permanently shaded areas. Taxus cuspidata, Zelkova serrata, Cornus kousa, Chionanthus retusus and Acer palmatum which are classified as shade tolerant trees and shade moderate tolerance trees seemed to be able to be used in the plant design of permanently shaded areas in apartment complexes because the trees showed good growth and a low tree defect rate. In addition, although it was excluded from the analysis due to a small number of samples, Sorbus commixta and Prunus cerasifera var. atropurpurea also can be used for planting in permanently shaded areas. Conclusion: The daylight simulation technique used to analyze permanent shaded areas in this study can be used as an analysis tool considering the daylight environment at the stages of design and construction, and additional research will be required to analyze tree growth according to daylight conditions through data accumulation and monitoring by managing records throughout the entire life cycle of trees in the process of planting and maintenance.
In this study, simulation results of nitrogen and phosphorus removals and microbial activities for an $A_2O$ process in wastewater treatment plant are presented by using Activated Sludge Models (ASMs). Simulations were performed using pre-calibrated model and layout implemented in GPS-X simulation software. The models were used to investigate variations of SRT, water temperature, DO and C/N ratio effect on nutrients removal and microbial activity. According to the simulated results, the successful nitrification required SRT higher than 10.3 days, whereas increase of $NO_3$-N loading in the anaerobic reactor caused phosphorus release by PAOs; the effluent $NH_4$-N showed rapid change between $12^{\circ}C$(21.7 mg/L) and $13^{\circ}C$(3.2 mg/L); the effluent phosphorus was increased up to 1.9 mg/L at water temperature of $25^{\circ}C$; the DO increase was positive for heterotrophs and autotrophs growths but negative for PAOs growth; the PAOs showed low activity when C/N ratio was lower than 2.5. The experimental results indicated that the calibrated models can assure the prediction quality of the ASMs and can be used to optimize the $A_2O$ process.

A mathematical competition model between normal flora and an invading pathogen was devised to allow analysis of bacterial infections in a host. The normal flora includes the various microorganisms that live on or within the host and act as a primary human immune system. Despite the important role of the normal flora, no mathematical study has been undertaken on models of the interaction between it and invading pathogens against a background of antibiotic treatment. To quantify key elements of bacterial behavior in a host, pairs of nonlinear differential equations were used to describe three categories of human health conditions, namely, healthy, latent infection, and active infection. In addition, a cutoff value was proposed to represent the minimum population level required for survival. The recovery of normal flora after antibiotic treatment was also included in the simulation because of its relation to human health recovery. The significance of each simulation parameter for the bacterial growth model was investigated. The devised simulation showed that bacterial proliferation rate, carrying capacity, initial population levels, and competition intensity have a significant effect on bacterial behavior. Consequently, a model was established to describe competition between normal flora and an infiltrating pathogen. Unlike other population models, the recovery process described by the devised model can describe the human health recovery mechanism.

As part of the housing policy on the concentration of large cities due to economic growth, large-scale construction was carried out for many years, but the focus of the quality improvement was largely on the quality supply. With criticism that such large-scale housing construction is distorting urban and rural landscape, it was forced from 2000 to apply the district unit plan to the development of housing sites with a certain scale and the district unit plan. In addition, it evaluated how the rural and urban landscape would look during the planning of the District Unit Plan, and how the resulting space would have an objective effect on urban and rural areas and how it would be evaluated for harmony. Therefore, this study applies and evaluates the weighted value of each inspection point selected by Lee lim jung (2016) to compare and analyze the actual application of the inspection point and the review report. As a result, it was assessed that no rational landscape planning was established because many simulation presentations were made at the lower priority point, and little was presented at the higher priority. The view point weights were distributed in the Landscape Review of the District Unit Plan with a score of up to 36 points from the lowest of 6 points, which resulted in the view simulation being reviewed in terms of various aspects.
Linear programming(LP) is a well-known method in optimizing timber harvest schedules. This paper describes a linear programming formulation of korean pine stands for timber harvest scheduling problems. Simulation technique and LP were applied to optimize the time and space distribution of the sustained yield for the 10-year forest management planning horizon. Growthfunction of korean pine stands in study area was derived with the yield table. This growthfunction was contained to the simulation model in estimating of changing stand volume conditions for the planning horizon. These estimated values were served as the basic data of LP model, and LP model was formulated with the maximum of periodical harvest volume calculated by the classical yield regulation method (Paulsen-Hundeshagen formula) and the maximum of periodical harvest area calculated for the normal age distribution. The timber harvest schedule was established periodically for each subcompartment of korean pine stands in experiment forest of College of Forestry in Kangweon National University with the here developed LP model.

One of the computer application fields which started showing noticeable new growth trends in recent years is the real time communication distributed computing application field. Object -oriented(OO) real time(RT) distributed computing is a form of real-time distributed computing realized with a distributed computer system structured in the form of an object network. In this paper, we describes the application environment as the DHS (distributed high-precision simulation) with TMO structure. The TMO scheme is aimed for enabling a great reduction of the designer's effort in guaranteeing timely service capabilities of distributed computing application systems. It has been formulated from the beginning with the objective of enabling design-time guaranteeing of timely action. In the real time simulation techniques based on TMO object modeling, we have observed several advantages to the TMO structuring scheme. TMO object modeling has a strong traceability between requirement specification and design, cost-effective high-coverage validation, autonomous subsystems, easy maintenance and flexible framework for requirement specification.
