The compressive strength of horizontal joints in precast concrete large panel structures depends on parameters such as grout and panel strength, detail of joint, joint moment, width of grout column, and etc. 44 specimens were tested to investigate the effects of parameters that influence the compressive strength of horizontal joints. The design formula specified in Korean Cock for compression horizontal joints must be reviewed, because it was based on the test results of the joint types not used in Korea. In this study comparing the test results, there fore, the validity of the design formulas was evaluated and a suitable formula was proposed to predict the ultimate strengths of compression horizontal joints. The increase of ultimate strengths was not observed, even if confined the horizontal displacement of slabs and reinforced the wall edge, when the grout strength is lower than panel strength. From the comparison of test results and those by the proposed formula, it was shown that proposed formula was suitable to predict the ultimate compressive strength of horizontal joints.

The compressive strength of horizontal joints in precast concrete large panel structures depends on parameters such as grout and panel strength, detail of joint, joint moment, width of grout column etc. As the panels are only connected at the pocket, it results in the reduction of compressive strength area. The purposes of this study are to develop the suitable grout material the joint pocket and to enable us to evaluate structural capacity. The validity of the design formulas provides us more economic system in construction. Test results of 15 specimens show that the proper construction procedure and grouting material develop the sufficient compressive strength of the wall as monolithic system.
In this study, three dimensional FE analysis of concrete slab track has been performed in order to develop the realistic design of precast concrete slab track. The precast slab track system including the precast concrete slab panel and the grout layer is modeled using the three dimensional solid element with crack softening effect. The input load is computed from the one dimensional beam element model constituting the rail and several discrete springs. To investigate the effect of the longitudinal connection of slab panels, two different systems-continuous and discrete systems - are modeled. The analytical results show that the stresses of both the slab panel and the grout layer are in the range of linear elastic, and, at the interface between two adjacent panels, the primary stresses of the grout layer of the discrete system are higher than those of the continuous system. However, The overall stress levels of the grout layer are very low relative to the strength of th grout.
It is well-known that the hearing strength in vertical joints of precast concrete large panel system is affected by grout compressive strength angle of shear key and bearing area. 21 vertical joint specimens were tested to investigate the effects of these parameters The analysis of test results shows that : 1. The higher be grout compressive strength, the higher will shear strength be. And the bearing strength does not so increase in proportion of bearing area. 2. The shear key with the angle of $20^{\circ}$shows the highest bearing strength among three angle variables of $20^{\circ}$, $25^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$.

A concrete core is used widely as lateral stability systems in high-rise modular buildings. As an alternative to traditional cast in-situ core, the precast concrete(PC) method can accelerate the construction of reinforced concrete cores. A core composed of precast elements differs from a in-situ core in having connections between the precast elements. The typical vertical connection between PC panels is consisted of shear keys, loop bars, lacer bars and grout. In this study, the effect of vertical connection components on shear strength is investigated experimentally. The test results show that the contribution to the shear strength is greater in order of grout strength, shear keys, lacer bars and loop bars. In addition, the numerical models to estimate the shear strength according to two crack patterns in the vertical joint of the PC panels are derived. The feasibility of the numerical models is evaluated by comparing the estimated shear strength and the test results.
The strength of vertical joints of precast concrete large panel structures depends on the many factors, such as the bond strength of grout concrete (or mortar), the interlocking of the shear keys, the dowel action of horizontal bars. Many experimental studies have been conducted to in vestigate the shear strength of the vertical joints. In domestic, a few design formulas to predict shear strength of the vertical joint were proposed by some investigators, but formulas were based on limited experimental results. The objective of this paper is to propose a suitable formula for the shear strength of vertical joints with 94 vertical joints experimental data using the modified Mohr-Coulomb's 4ield theory and regression analysis. From the comparison of the proposed formula with others, it is shown that the proposed formula can be used economically for the design of vertical joints.

The full-width, full-depth precast panel system is very efficient for the rehabilitation of deteriorated decks as well as for new bridge construction.. The horizontal bond strength at the interface between the two interconnected elements is of primary importance in order to achieve composite action. The strength of the bond between the two precast members should be high enough to prevent any progressive slip from taking place. However, the case when both of the interconnected elements are precast members bonded by means of grout, is not currently addressed by KBDC or AASHTO. This is the main impetus for this study. A total 43 push-off tests were performed to evaluate the horizontal bond strength and to recommend the best practice for the system. Test parameters included different interface surface conditions, different amount and different types of shear connectors. The presence of the shear keys at the top surface of the beam increased the interface bond capacity tremendously compared to the bond capacity with a different surface conditions.

In Korea, the mountainous area occupies more than 70% of the whole country, cutting of earth slope that cuts a part of the ground surface is widely used when building infrastructures such as road, railroad, and industrial complex construction. In recent years, regulations on environmental damage have become more strict, and various methods have been developed and applied. Among them, Concrete-Panel Retaining Wall technique is actively applied. Concrete-Panel Retaining Wall is a method to resist horizontal earth pressure by forming a wall by attaching a precast retaining wall to the front of the support material and increasing the shear strength of the disk through reinforcement of the support material. Soil nailing, earth bolt, and ground anchor are used as support material. Among them, ground anchor is a more aggressive reinforcement type that introduces tensile load in advance to the steel wire, and a large concentrated load acts on the front panel. This concentrated load is a factor that creates cracks in the concrete panel and reduces the durability of the retaining wall itself. In this study, steel pipe sleeves and reinforcements were purchased at the anchorage of the panel to prevent cracks, and by applying bumpy shear keys to the end of the panel, the weakness of the individual behavior of the existing grout anchors was improved. The problem of degraded landscape by exposure to front concrete of retaining wall and protrusion of anchorage was solved by the production of natural stone patterns and the construction of sections that do not protrude the anchorage. In order to verify the effectiveness of anti-crack sleeves and reinforcements used in the null, indoor testing and three-dimensional numerical analysis have been performed, and the use of steel pipe sleeves and reinforcements has demonstrated the overall strength increase and crack suppression effect of panels.

The steel-plate concrete(SC) is used in a form of module assembly construction in the outer wall of nuclear-power plant and LNG containment. Since the steel-plate concrete modules are generally manufactured from the plant, the weight of SC has significantly effect on the total construction cost in the aspect of shipment. Therefore, the use of lightweight aggregates concrete(LWAC), which fill the inside of SC module can be a solution. However, the amount of used lightweight aggregates(LWA) is limited in the use of current concrete mixing process due to the concrete quality problems and it also determines the allowable minimum density of LWAC. In this research, the preplaced casting method is applied because of increasing the volume fraction of LWA significantly, which results from the producing process of pre-packing the LWA in the formwork and filling the interstitial voids between LWA using cement paste grout. The density and compressive strength of selected preplaced LWAC were $1,600kg/m^3$ and 30MPa and it was applied for the mock-up specimens of SC panel. It was used for the 3-point bending test for evaluating its structural performance. The results show that the preplaced LWAC can reduce the density of concrete with the adequate mechanical and structural performance.
Recent developments in multi-storey buildings for residential purpose have led to the extensive use of shear walls for the basic structural system. When the coupled shear wall system is used, joined together with cast-in-place concrete or mortar (or grout), the function of the continuous joints is a crucial factor in determining the safety of L.P. Precast concrete shear wall structures, because the function of the continuous joints(Vertical wall to wall joints) is to transfer froces from one element(shear wall panel) to another, and if sufficient strength and ductility is not developed in the continuous joints, the available strength in the adjoining elements may not be fully utilized. In this paper, the influence of the stiffness of vertical joints(wet vertical keyed shear joints) on the behaviour of precast shear walls is theoretically investigated. To define how the stiffness of the vertical joints affect the load carrying capacity of L.P.Precast concrete shear wall structure, the L.P.Precast concrete shear wall structure is analyzed, with the stiffness of the vertical joints varying from $K=0.07kg/mm^3$(50MN/m/m) to $K=1.43kg/mm^3$(1000MN/m/m), by using the continuous connection method. The results of the analysis shows that at the low values of the vertical stiffness, i.e. from $K=0.07kg/mm^3$(50MN/m/m) to $K=0.57kg/mm^3$(400MN/m/m), the resisting bending moment and shearing force of precast shear walls, the resisting shearing force of vertical joints and connecting beams are significantly affected. The detailed results of analysis are represented in the following figures and Tables.
