신생아집중치료실 간호사의 상대적 간호업무효율성 분석 (Analysis of Relative Job Performance Efficiency of Nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the job performance efficiency of nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) by using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Additionally, the study aimed to provide a detailed method to improve the currently inefficient way in which nurses perform their jobs by differentiating the reference group of more efficient nurses, and to compare the characteristics of the more efficient group of nurses to those of the less efficient group of nurses. Methodology: This study evaluated the relative job performance efficiency of nurses by applying DEA to 43 nurses in the NICU. The input variables for the efficiency analysis were working career (years), time spent in direct nursing care (hours), overtime (hours), and job-related training (hours); the output variables were the job performance scores of professional practice, research, leadership, and education. Data were analyzed using SPSS IBM 23.0 and Open Source DEA (OSDEA). Findings: The relative job performance efficiency of the 43 nurses was 0.933, and 20 nurses were evaluated as more efficient. In addition, the study confirmed the possibility of improving the overall job performance efficiency by improving leadership, while controlling the current input variables. Lastly, the more efficient nurses had significantly higher job performance scores for research (t=2.028, p=0.049), leadership (t=2.036, p=0.048), and education (t=2995, p=0.005) than those who were less efficient. Practical Implications: It is suggested that job performance be evaluated using DEA to improve the overall job performance efficiency of NICU nurses. The analysis results from DEA for nurses becomes evidence in support of establishing individualized goals for each nurse, thus resulting in a foundation for systematic human resource management of nurses, and ultimately contributing to increase in the job performance efficiency of nurses.

메타확률 프런티어를 사용한 CO2의 국제환경효율 (International Environmental Efficiency with CO2 Using Meta Stochastic Frontier Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 투입물 거리함수에 의한 메타확률 프런티어 방법을 사용하여 1998년부터 2018년까지 4개 소득그룹의 이산화탄소 기준의 환경효율성(EE)을 측정하였다. 에너지 소비가 이산화탄소 배출을 증가시키고, 노동과 자본투입을 증가하면 이산화탄소 배출을 감소시킬 것임을 보여주고 있다. 또한 그룹환경효율성(GEE: Group Environmental Efficiency), 메타환경효율성(MEE: Meta Environmental Efficiency) 및 환경격차(EGR: Environmental Gap Ratio)를 비교하였다. 결과는 GEE가 과대평가되고 MEE는 이 기간 동안 하향세를 보여주고 있다. 중하위 소득그룹의 EGR은 가장 높았다. 그리고 고소득 및 중상위 소득그룹의 MEE 및 EGR이 상대적으로 낮았다. 환경효율성을 높이려면 화석에너지를 저감하고 기준 환경 문제를 해결하는 방법이 보다 과학적이고 기술적인 방법을 찾아 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

DEA를 이용한 보건의료기술 R&D 사업의 효율성 분석과 전략적 포트폴리오 모형 : 중개연구를 중심으로 (Efficiency Analysis and Strategic Portfolio Model of National Health Technology R&D Program Using DEA : Focused on Translational Research)

  • This paper measures and compares the efficiency of national health technology R&D programs focused on translational research program increasing importance using data envelopment analysis (DEA). Three input variables and three output variables are selected for DEA. Inputs are funds, researchers, and project period and outputs are SCI (E) papers, applied and granted patents, and impact factor. This study uses a three-stage approach. In the first stage, output-based DEA model is applied to evaluate the efficiency of decision making unit (DMU). In the second stage, based on efficiency scores of target diseases high-efficiency group and low-efficiency group are classified. And then strategic portfolio matrix of translational research program is composed of four dimensions combining research types. Mann-Whitney U test is then run to compare average efficiency scores among four groups. In the final stage, Tobit regression model is used to estimate factors likely to influence the efficiency. The results are expected to provide policy implications for effectively establishing investment strategy and managing performance of R&D program.

미역첨가식이(添加食餌)에 관한 영양생리학적(營養生理學的) 연구(硏究) - 특(特)히 미역농도별(濃度別) 첨가식이(添加食餌)가 백서생육(白鼠生育)에 미치는 영향(影響)에 관하여 - (Dietary Effect of Tangle-supplementation on the Albino Rats - Specially Nutritional Physiology of Various Levels of Tangle-addition Supplementation -)

  • In the classic point of view, it has well known that the tangle is the mineral source, especially iodide. However, there are few reports that the tangle can be used the high-protein source. With the consideration whether the tangle can be used as a protein source as well as one of the foodstuff or not, this studies is done by animal experiment. The Albino rats to be examined were fed on the basal diet (Table 1) and the others including the polished tangle by weight 2%, 3%, 4% and 5%, as experimental diets, for 4 weeks, respectively. The weight gain(Fig. 1), total amount of diet intake (Fig. 2), total water intake(Fig. 3), feed efficiency ratio (Fig. 4) and protein efficiency ratio (Fig. 5) was measured by each week, respectively. In addition, organ weight (Fig. 6) and blood study (Fig. 7, Fig. 8) was also analyzed at the end of the experiment. As the results of this study, growth rate, that is, weight gain, feed efficiency ratio and protein efficiency ratio in all experimental groups increased more than those of the control group. Moreover, it was also found that weight gain, feed efficiency ratio, protein efficiency ratio by feeding on the 2 percent tangle group was higher than the corresponding values of all experimental groups. However, feed intake and total water gain were the most by feeding on the 5% tangle group. This result may be interpreted to show that the total content of sodium includes more than enough in the feed intakes. To obtain further information concerning the effect of the tangle-dietary conditions on the growth rate of Albino rats, it was measured the organ weight. In the adrenal and spleen, the total weight by feeding on the all experimental groups were decreased more than that in the case of the control group. In the other hand, in the liver the weight by feeding on the high concentration groups (4%, 5% tangle diets) were not higher than the control group, while in the case of the low concentration groups (2%, 3% tangle diets) were higher than that of the control group. When it was observed the blood components, total protein, hemoglobin, sodium, potassium, white blood cell and red blood cell of rats, the content of white blood cell by feeding on all experimental groups were lower than that by feeding on the control group, but it was also clear that in the other components except white blood cell in blood the contents by feeding on all experimental groups were similar to that in the case of the control groups. However, in the 5% tangle group, the content of sodium was the lowest of all experimental groups, where as the content of potassium was the highest of all experimental groups.

항만수출과 지역경제의 효율성 (Port Export and Efficiency of the Regional Economy in Korea)

  • 본 논문의 DMU는 9개 지역(부산, 경북, 인천, 경기, 전남, 경남, 전북, 울산)이며, 이 지역들의 경제활동인구, 총고정자본형성, 항만수출액을 투입요소로, 총부가가치액을 산출물로 선정하였다. 그리고 본 논문에서는 항만수출액을 포함하지 않은 경우와 항만수출액을 포함한 경우의 효율성과 생산성을 비교 분석하였다. 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 항만수출액을 포함시킨 경우가 그렇지 않은 경우에 비해 효율성이 증가하였다. 그룹 2의 경우는 그룹 1에 비해 초효율성 값이 커졌으나 2000년 이래로 꾸준히 그 값이 작아지고 있다. 이것은 효율성을 100% 유지하기 위해서 투입요소를 거의 늘일 여유가 없게 된 것을 의미한다. 둘째, 그룹1에서 생산성 지수가 1를 하회한 지역은 경남과 전북으로 나타났다. 그룹2에서 생산성 지수가 1를 상회한 지역은 부산, 경북, 충남으로 나타났다. 셋째, 그룹1에서 LDP로 측정해 보면 인천이 9년간 효율성의 변화가 가장 작았고, 충남의 경우가 효율성의 변화가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 그룹2에서 LDP로 보았을 때는 충남이 9년간 효율성의 변화가 가장 작았고, 전남의 경우가 효율성의 변화가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of feeding probiotics (gene modified yeast) on the growth performances in pigs. In pigs, this study investigated the effects of dietary probiotics which contained antibacterial probiotics (OR-7, bacteriocin, gene modified yeast) on growth performances and feed efficiency in pig farm. A total of 150 pigs were studied. The treatments are probiotics yeast (PY) 0.3% (basal diet + 0.3% plasmid modified probiotics), PY 0.5% (basal diet + 0.5% plasmid modified probiotics), yeast (Y) 0.3% (basal diet + 0.3% probiotics), Y 0.5% (basal diet + 0.5% probiotics) and control (basal diet). Weight gain, feed intake and feed efficiency were periodically recorded for 90 days. The treatment group trended higher weight gain, feed intake and feed efficiency than control. And, the PY group trended higher weight gain, feed intake and feed efficiency than Y group.

Efficiency Analysis for Major Ports in Korea and China using Boston Consulting Group and Data Envelopment Analysis Model

  • Planning strategies to achieve higher competitiveness of ports are becoming increasingly important in business environment. Therefore, strategic competitive position and efficiency analysis needs to be performed to increase ports' effectiveness and competitiveness. This matches with one of targets of new concept e-Navigation to increase the agility and efficiency of ports. The purpose of this study was to apply Boston Consulting Group matrix to analyze competitive positioning of major ports in Korea and China in term of several main cargo types and then use a combination of Data Envelopment Analysis and Principal Component Analysis model to calculate efficiencies. Results show that, at the moment, Chinese ports are still on the top with high position and efficiency score for the representative-Shanghai port. However, result also points out that except container type, Korean ports have chance to compete in other cargo types. Moreover, Gwangyang port is regarded as efficient. It has better position time. It is believed that Gwangyang port together with Busan port can compete with Chinese port in the near future.

Associations between Feed Efficiency, Body Growth and Serum Insulin-like Growth Factor-I Level for Korean Native Ogol Chickens

  • Increasing of body weight has been one of the important economic factors in the poultry industry. Insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-I is a polypeptide that serves to regulate muscle development and body growth. Moreover, IGF-I is related to feed efficiency. However, there are few studies regarding the regulatory roles of chicken IGF-I/-II compared with that of mammals. Especially, the Korean Native Ogol Chicken (KNOC) has a lean body growth and its body weight is generally lighter than the broiler chicken. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate associations among serum IGF-I/-II concentration, feed efficiency, and body growth in KNOC. The body weight and feed intake of KNOC were recorded from 20 to 36 weeks at 2 weeks intervals, and blood was taken every 2 weeks. Serum IGF-I/-II were measured by RIA. Chickens were divided into two groups, high and low serum IGF-I concentration. Generally, feed efficiency and growth performance (body weight and weight gain) in the high serum IGF-I group were higher than those of the low group during the experimental period. In particular, the body weight of the IGF-I high group were significantly different from those of the IGF-I low group at 34 and 36 weeks, respectively (p<0.05). Moreover, body weight, weight gain, and feed efficiency had a significant correlation with serum IGF-I at several weeks (p<0.05 and p<0.01). These results show that IGF-I plays an important role in body growth and suggests a possibility that serum IGF-I could be used as a selection marker for body growth in KNOC.

수치해석을 통한 말뚝 배치에 따른 군말뚝 효율 분석 (Efficiency of Pile Groups with Arrangement of Piles Using Numerical Analysis)

  • 일반적으로 기초는 여러 개의 단일말뚝이 상부 구조체에 의해 연결된 상태로 군말뚝을 의미한다. 하지만, 군말뚝에 상부 하중 재하 시 지반에 작용하는 응력 범위는 단일말뚝에 비해 더 넓은 폭과 깊이로 확장되고, 중복되기 때문에 전체적인 지지력은 감소할 수 있다. 이러한 지지력 감소비를 군말뚝 효율이라 하나 일반적인 말뚝과 지반의 접촉 조건에 따른 영향을 분석한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지반 구성 및 군말뚝의 배치, 간격, 지반과 말뚝간의 접촉 특성을 해석 변수로 설정하고, 군말뚝 효율 및 군말뚝을 구성하는 개별말뚝의 거동을 분석하였다. 해석 결과, 지반 종류에 따라 마찰계수 증가 시 군말뚝 효율은 수렴 또는 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 이를 통해 최적 군말뚝 효율을 분석하였다. 또한, 개별말뚝 분석을 통한 하중 감소비 파악 결과, 군말뚝 내부에 위치한 말뚝의 경우 하중을 상대적으로 적게 받았으며, 이는 내부 지반에 대한 영향인 것으로 판단된다.

  • The author studied for the masticatory efficiency on the subject of 20 fixed spacemaitainer wearers and 20 removable spacemaintainer weares compared with the control group in children. The following results were obtained on 10 Mesh Screen. 1. The masticatory efficiency was 28.8% in removable spacemaintainer wearers. 2. On the subject of fixed spacemaitainer wearers, the masticatory efficiency was 27.4%. 3. The masticatory efficiency was 48.3% in control group.
