확률론적 지진하중에 의한 모멘트 골조의 동적 거동평가 (Evaluation of Dynamic Behavior of moment resisting frame under probabilistic ground motions)

  • Base shear and roof drift relation was acquired from experiment of 3 story ordinary moment resisting frame which was designed using gravity loads. To evaluate the dynamic behavior of the frame, analytical model was generated from experimental result. Dynamic analysis was performed using the analytical model subjected to earthquake ground motions with 500, 1000, and 2400 years of return period. And capacity spectrum method was adopted to find the performance points of the frame. Both dynamic analysis and CSM showed that the performance of the frame meet the life safety objectives suggested by FEMA 273 and ATC 40.

  • Railway construction in the random vibration natural phenomena, as well as a relatively regular train loads for dynamic loads, such as a usability and safety should be ensured. Vibration due to train loads and seismic vibrations caused by wind compared to the typically very small in size, rather than the safety of the structure affects the usability. Recently in the downtown area, ground and underground facilities, such as a permanent facility that may cause excessive vibration increases, associated with the construction of these transportation facilities on ground vibrations of structures has been increasing concern and complaint. More recently, high-speed train vibration and noise due to furnace is increasing. In order to solve this problem, such as soundproof considering several feet, but by applying the vibration and noise reduction measures insufficient for the study is Free. In this study, track structure, track, and the inside of the building to support the system, the different forms of neurological history and share about the history cheonanahsan high-speed rail, if passed by the bus stop on the train loads of noise, and the history of interior noise and vibration measurement / analysis of measurement results to assess the relative comparison with the relevant provisions were reviewed. Based on this history, future plans for the design of the bridge to reflect the results of a study is intended to provide information.   • Recently, ground source heat pump (GSHP) systems have been introduced in many modem buildings which use the annually stable characteristic of underground temperature as one of the renewable energy uses. However, all of GSHP systems cannot achieve high level of energy efficiency and energy-saving, because their performance significantly depends on thermal properties of soil, the condition of groundwater, building loads, etc. In this research, the effect of thermal properties of soil on the performance of GSHP systems has been estimated by a numerical simulation which is coupled with ground heat and water transfer model, ground heat exchanger model and surface heat balance model. The thermal conductivity of soil, the type of soil and the velocity of groundwater flow were used as the calculation parameter in the simulation. A numerical model with a ground heat exchanger was used in the calculation and, their effect on the system performance was estimated through the sensitivity analysis with the developed simulation tool. In the result of simulation, it founds that the faster groundwater flow and the higher heat conductivity the ground has, the more heat exchange rate the system in the site can achieve.

Multi-point response spectrum analysis of a historical bridge to blast ground motion

  • In this study, the effects of ground shocks due to explosive loads on the dynamic response of historical masonry bridges are investigated by using the multi-point shock response spectrum method. With this purpose, different charge weights and distances from the charge center are considered for the analyses of a masonry bridge and depending on these parameters frequency-varying shock spectra are determined and applied to each support of the two-span masonry bridge. The net blast induced ground motion consists of air-induced and direct-induced ground motions. Acceleration time histories of blast induced ground motions are obtained depending on a deterministic shape function and a stationary process. Shock response spectrums determined from the ground shock time histories are simulated using BlastGM software. The results obtained from uniform and multi-point response spectrum analyses cases show that significant differences take place between the uniform and multi-point blast-induced ground motions.

수평형 지열 히트펌프 시스템의 냉난방 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of Ground-Coupled Heat Pump System with Slinky-Type Horizontal Ground Heat Exchanger)

  • Ground-coupled heat pump (GCHP) systems utilize the immense renewable storage capacity of the ground as a heat source or sink to provide space heating, cooling, and domestic hot water. The main objective of the present study is to investigate the cooling and heating performance of a small scale GCHP system with horizontal ground heat exchanger (HGHE). In order to evaluate the performance, a water-to-air ground-source heat pump unit connected to a test room with a net floor area of 18.4 m2 and a volume of 64.4 m3 in the Korea Institute of Construction Technology ($37^{\circ}39'N$, $126^{\circ}48'E$) was designed and constructed. This GCHP system mainly consisted of slinky-type HGHE with a total length of 400 m, indoor heat pump, and measuring devices. The peak cooling and heating loads of the test room were 5.07 kW and 4.12 kW, respectively. The experimental results were obtained from March 15, 2011 to August 31, 2011 and the performance coefficients of the system were determined from the measured data. The overall seasonal performance factor (SPF) for cooling was 3.31 while the system delivered heating at a daily average performance coefficients of 2.82.

  • The main objective of the present study is to investigate the performance characteristics of a ground source heat pump (GSHP) system with a 130 m vertical 60.5 mm nominal diameter U-bend ground heat exchanger. In order to evaluate the performance analysis, the GSHP system connected to a test room with 90 $m^2$ floor area in the Korea Institute of Construction Technology ($37^{\circ}39'$ N, $126^{\circ}48'$ E) was designed and constructed. This GSHP system mainly consisted of ground heat exchanger, indoor heat pump and measuring devices. The cooling and heating loads of the test room were 5.5 and 7.2 kW at design conditions, respectively. The experimental results were obtained from July to January in cooling and heating season of $2003{\sim}2004$. The cooling and heating performance coefficients of the system were determined from the experimental results. The average cooling and heating COPs for the system were obtained to be 4.82 and 3.02, respectively. The temperature variations in ground and the ground heat exchanger surface at different depths were also measured.

  • When an emergency generator is running, it supplies the power for critical loads. Generator protection requires the consideration of many abnormal conditions that may occur with generators include overvoltages and ground faults. Modern day power systems create harmonics within the electrical network that can have an impact upon the associated protective system. This paper focuses on the analysing of the cause and development of a solution for the malfunction of induction disc type overcurrent ground relay by generation of harmonics during emergency generator operation.

  • Developed in these two series of paper is a complex dynamic model representing the motion of aircraft on the ground and a computer program for numerical simulation. The first part of paper presents the theoretical derivation of equations of motion of the landing gear system based on the physical principle. Developed model is 'structured' in the sense that the undercarriage system is regarded as an assembly of strut, tire, and wheel, where each component is modeled by a separate module. These modules are linked with two external modules-the aircraft and the runway characteristics-to carry out dynamic analysis and numerical simulation of the aircraft motion on the ground. Three sets of coordinate system associated with strut, wheel/tire and runway are defined, and external loads to each component and response characteristics are examined. Lagrangian formulation is used to derive the undercarriage equations of motion relative to the moving aircraft, and the resultant forces and moments from the undercarriage are transformed to aircraft body axes.

  • In this research, centrifuge model experiments and numerical approach of finite element method to analyze experimental results were performed to investigate the behavior of improved ground with sand compaction piles. One of typical clay minerals, kaolinite powder, were prepared for soft ground in model tests. Jumunjin standard sand was used to sand compaction pile installed in the soft soil. In order to investigate the characteristics of mechanical behavior of sand compaction piles with low replacement ratios, centrifuge model experiments with the replacement ratio of 40%, changing the width of improved area with respect to testing results the width of surcharge loads, were carried out to obtain of bearing capacity, characteristics of load-settlement, vertical stresses acting on the sand pile and the soft soil failure mechanism in improved ground.

Dynamic responses of structures with sliding base

  • This paper presents dynamic responses of structures with sliding base which limits the translation of external loads from ground excitation. A discrete element model based on the discontinuous deformation analysis method is proposed to study this sliding boundary problem. The sliding base is simulated using sets of fictitious contact springs along the sliding interface. The set of contact spring is to translate friction force from ground to superstructure. Validity of the proposed model is examined by the closed-form solutions of an idealized mass-spring structural model subjected to harmonic ground excitation. This model is also applied to a problem of a three-story structural model subjected to the ground excitation of 1940 El Centro earthquake. Analyses of both sliding-base and fixed-base conditions are performed as comparisons. This study shows that using this model can simulate the dynamic response of a sliding structure with frictional cut-off quite accurately. Results reveal that lowering the frictional coefficient of the sliding joint will reduce the peak responses. The structure responses in little deformation, but it displaces at the end of excitation.
