In this thesis, To provide the base of effective data access methods, performance of some indexing techniques used gent-Tally are compared. They are classified as primary key and multikey. For primary key method, made a comparative analysis on Static index. Dynamic index and Hashing. For multikey indexing method K-d tree, K-d-B tree, Inverted file and Grid file of which characteristics are compared. In many applications, multikey indexings are more requested, but are not supplied enough. So, to satisfy users' request - more fast, more exact and to be applied according to the trend of being huge database systems, it is requested more study about multikey data access methods.

Moving objects database systems manage a set of moving objects which changes its locations and directions continuously. The traditional spatial indexing scheme is not suitable for the moving objects because it aimed to manage static spatial data. Because the location of moving object changes continuously, there is problem that expense that the existent spatial index structure reconstructs index dynamically is overladen. In this paper, we analyzed the insertion/deletion costs for processing the movement of objects. The results of our extensive experiments show that the Dynamic Hashing Index outperforms the original R-tree and the fixed grid typically by a big margin.

The purpose of this study is to build a database of Spatial information Bigdata of cities using satellite images and spatial information, and to examine the correlations with the surface temperature. Using architectural structure and usage in building information, DEM and Slope topographical information for constructed with 300 × 300 mesh grids for Busan. The satellite image is used to prepare the Normalized Difference Built-up Index (NDBI), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Bare Soil Index (BI), and Land Surface Temperature (LST). In addition, the building area in the grid was calculated and the building ratio was constructed to build the urban environment DB. In architectural structure, positive correlation was found in masonry and concrete structures. On the terrain, negative correlations were observed between DEM and slope. NDBI and BI were positively correlated, and NDVI was negatively correlated. The higher the Building ratio, the higher the surface temperature. It was found that the urban environment DB could be used as a basic data for urban environment analysis, and it was possible to quantitatively grasp the impact on the architecture and urban environment by adding local meteorological factors. This result is expected to be used as basic data for future urban environment planning and disaster prevention data construction.
Land surface temperature in ecohydrology is a variable that links surface structure to soil processes and yet its spatial prediction across landscapes with variable surface structure is poorly understood. And there are an insufficient number of soil temperature monitoring stations. In this study, a grid-based land surface temperature prediction model is proposed. Target sites are Andong and Namgang dam region. The proposed model is run in the following way. At first, geo-referenced site specific air temperatures are estimated using a kriging technique from data collected from 60 point weather stations. Then surface soil temperature is computed from the estimated geo-referenced site-specific air temperature and normalized difference vegetation index. After the model is calibrated with data collected from observed remote-sensed soil temperature, a soil temperature map is prepared based on the predictions of the model for each geo-referenced site. The daily and monthly simulated soil temperature shows that the proposed model is useful for reproducing observed soil temperature. Soil temperatures at 30 and 50 cm of soil depth are also well simulated.
The Korean bottom trawl survey has been deployed on a regular basis for about the last decade as part of groundfish stock assessments. The regularity indicates that they sample groundfish once per grid cell whose sides are half of one latitude and that of one longitude, respectively, and whose inside is furthermore divided into nine nested grids. Unless they have a special reason (e.g., running into a rocky bottom), their sample location is at the center grid of the nine nested grids. Given data collected by the survey, we intended to show how to appropriately estimate not only the survey index of a fish stock but also its uncertainty. For the regularity reason, we applied the systematic sampling theory for the above purposes and compared its results with a reference, which was based on the simple random sampling. When using the survey data about 11 fish stocks, collected by the spring and fall surveys in 2014, the survey indices of those stocks estimated under the systematic sampling were overall more precise than those under the simple random sampling. In estimates of the survey indices in number, the standard errors of those estimates under the systematic sampling were reduced from those under the simple random sampling by 0.23~27.44%, while in estimates of the survey indices in weight, they decreased by 0.04~31.97%. In bias of the estimates, the systematic sampling was the same as the simple random sampling. Our paper is first in formally showing how to apply the systematic sampling theory to the actual data collected by the Korean bottom trawl surveys.
The impact of land slope to the degree of flow divergence was considered employing distributional applications of slope exponents in the now directlOn algoriUnns. Lmear, exponential and ]X)wer law of distributional functIons were employed to address the variation of slope exponents m a terrain analysis. Dongok subwatershed at Wichun test watershed was selected as a study area. Digital Elevation Models of 20m, 30m, 40m and 50m grid size were made to perfonn the analysis. Various calcualtion methodologies of topographic index and the impact of grid sizes were investigated in terms of statistical and spatial aspects. DIstributional applications of slope e.xponents made it possible to represent the flow divergence and convergence about the ten-ain characteristics. The Monte~Carlo method was used to simulate six runoff events to check the impact of topographic factor in the runoff simulation.

Bubbles generated in water receive an upward buoyant force due to the density and pressure difference of the surrounding fluid. Additionally, the behavior, shape, and heat exchange process of bubbles vary depending on the viscosity, surface tension, rising speed, and size difference with the surrounding fluid. In this study, we modeled speed, and heat transfer of a high-temperature single bubble rising in a cylindrical water tank. For this purpose, velocity, and temperature of the bubbles were calculated using theoretical equations, to be compared with numerical simulation results. The numerical analysis was performed using a commercial software, and the stability of the numerical analysis with mesh size was confirmed through calculation of the grid convergence index. The numerical analysis of the rising speed and temperature of a single bubble showed the values to converge when the minimum cell size was 1/160 of the bubble diameter, and the temperature decrease was confirmed to be the same as that of the surrounding fluid within 0.05 seconds.
There are many wildfire risk indices worldwide, but objective comparisons between such various wildfire risk indices and surface dryness indices have not been conducted for the wildfire cases in Korea. This paper describes a sensitivity analysis on the wildfire risk indices and surface dryness indices for Korea using LDAPS(Local Analysis and Prediction System) meteorological dataset on a 1.5-km grid and MODIS(Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) satellite images on a 1-km grid. We analyzed the meteorology-based wildfire risk indices such as the Australian FFDI(forest fire danger index), the Canadian FFMC(fine fuel moisture code), the American HI(Haines index), and the academically presented MNI(modified Nesterov index). Also we examined the satellite-based surface dryness indices such as NDDI(normalized difference drought index) and TVDI(temperature vegetation dryness index). As a result of the comparisons between the six indices regarding 120 wildfire cases with the area damaged over 1ha during the period between January 2013 and May 2017, we found that the FFDI and FFMC showed a good predictability for most wildfire cases but the MNI and TVDI were not suitable for Korea. The NDDI can be used as a proxy parameter for wildfire risk because its average CDF(cumulative distribution function) scores were stably high irrespective of fire size. The indices tested in this paper should be carefully chosen and used in an integrated way so that they can contribute to wildfire forecasting in Korea.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of various spatial characteristics on the land surface temperature and to grasp the characteristics of thermal environment by types of urban area in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do. The spatial data were consisted LST, normalized difference built-up index(NDBI) and normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) obtained from Landsat 5 TM and land use and land cover map classified from high resolution digital aerial photograph($10cm{\times}10cm$). The unit space for spatial analysis was built by $500m{\times}500m$ Vector GRID. According to the results of estimation of relationship between thermal environment and spatial characteristics, LST had the highest positive correlation with NDBI by 0.929 and had high positive correlation with impervious area ratio by 0.857. In order to analysis of thermal environment on land use, types of urban area were classified by 4 of residential focus area, industrial focus area, green focus area and mixed area. According to the results of analysis, mean LST of industrial focus area was showed the highest by $21.10^{\circ}C$. But mean LST of green focus area was analyzed the lowest by $18.85^{\circ}C$. In conclusion, the results of this study investigated the effects of spatial characteristics on urban thermal environment and can provide methods and basic informations about land use planning and development density restriction for reduction of urban heat.

This study attempted to present the monthly distribution of the inshore gill netters for the prevention of propeller failure caused by the damage of fishing gear by the merchant vessels in the West Sea. This study was conducted using the transmitting device of fishing location (V-Pass) data for 1 year in 2014. The grid intervals are $30minute{\times}30minute$ ($latitude{\times}longitude$) based on the section of the sea. A total of 56 sections were analyzed by constructing a grid. The results revealed that the section no. 194 with the highest density index showed no fishing gear damage accident. But the section no. 193 with a relatively lower density index showed more frequent fishing gear damage accident. It is because the section no. 193 is included in the main route of the merchant vessels. Based on this analysis, it is found that the fishing gears are not damaged in proportion to density index but risk of damage exists according to the main routes of merchant vessels. Therefore, for the safe navigation of the merchant vessels, notifying the waters of $34.5^{\circ}{\sim}35.5^{\circ}$ at latitude and $125.67^{\circ}{\sim}126^{\circ}$ at longitude, as a navigational warning area from May through September, will prevent marine accident, such as propeller failure and fishing gear damage. Accordingly, when the merchant vessels navigate in the section no. 193 and 203, the area of $34.5^{\circ}{\sim}35.5^{\circ}$ at latitude and $125.5^{\circ}{\sim}125.67^{\circ}$ at longitude is recommended for the safe navigation.
