방류수의 수위 및 유량 분석을 통한 해양 소수력 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of Ocean Small Hydropower Plant by Analyzing Water Level and Flow Rate of Circulating Water)

  • The Samcheonpo ocean small hydropower plant (SHP) has a special feature of using marginal hydraulic head of circulating water system of fossil fuel power plant as a power source and having the characteristics of general hydropower generation and tidal power generation as well. Also, it contributes to reducing green house gases and developing clean energy source by recycling circulating water energy otherwise dissipated into the ocean. The efficiency of small hydropower plant is directly affected by effective head and flow rate of discharged water. Therefore, the efficiency characteristics of ocean hydropower plant are analyzed with the variation of water level and flow rate of discharged water, which is based on the accumulated operation data of the Samcheonpo hydropower plant. After the start of small hydropower plant operation, definite rise of water level was observed. As a result of flow pattern change from free flow to submerged flow, the instability of water surface in overall open channel is increased but it doesn't reach the extent of overflowing channel or having an effect on circulation system. Performance evaluation result shows that the generating power and efficiency of small hydropower exceeds design requirements in all conditions. Analysis results of CWP's water flow rate verify that the amount of flowing water is measured less and the highest efficiency of small hydropower plant is achieved when the effective head has its maximum value. In conclusion, efficiency curve derived from water flow rate considering tidal level shows the best fitting result with design criteria curve and it is verified that overall efficiency of hydropower system is satisfactory.

창원시 실제 교통량 자료를 이용한 도로수송부문 온실가스 배출량 평가 (Evaluation of Green House Gases by Transportation Using Traffic Census Results from Changwon City)

  • In this study, which aims to estimate the volume of greenhouse gas emitted by road transportation vehicles in Changwon City, the emission rate was calculated on the basis of the actual traffic volume measured at major crossroads and compared with the results obtained from the methodology used to estimate the greenhouse gas emissions of road transportation provided in the IPCC 2006 GL guidelines (Tier 1, Tier 3). Analysis of the results of the comparison showed that the Tier 1 methodology, which was applied in the estimation of the rate of greenhouse gas emissions, carries a high probability of underestimation, while the Tier 3 methodology carries a relatively high probability of overestimation. Therefore, when considering the assignment of permissible rates of emission to local governments, the application of the methodology, i.e. whether one uses Tier 1 or Tier 3, may result in a large difference in the rate of allowable emissions. It is suggested that a method based on the actual volume of traffic would be the most reasonable one with regard to the development of a realistic plan.

기후변화에 따른 대청댐 유역의 유출 영향 분석 (Effects of Climate Change on the Streamflow for the Daechung Dam Watershed)

  • 온실기체의 증가에 따른 기후변화로 인해 유역에서의 물순환이 과거와는 다른 패턴을 보이고 있다. 그러나 현재의 수자원 계획 및 관리에는 기후변화의 영향이 포함되어 있지 않다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기후변화의 영향이 유역의 물순환에 어떻게 영향을 주는지를 검토하였다. 본 연구는 기존의 여러 가지 배증 $CO_2$상태의 GCM(General Circulation Model) 모의결과를 이용하여 기온 및 강수량 자료를 Markov 연쇄에 의해 모의발생 하였다. 또 강우-유출 모형을 이용하여 100년동안의 일단위 유출을 계산하였다. 그 결과 GCM 시나리오별로 연평균기온은 +3.2∼+4.6$^{\circ}C$, 연평균강수량은 -7∼+8%, 연평균유출은 -14 ∼ +7 % 그리고 기온 1$^{\circ}C$ 변화에 따른 잠재증발산량은 +3∼+4 %의 변화를 보였다. 기후변화에 따른 영향의 평가는 GCM 모의결과에 크게 의지하지만 유황분석결과 기후변화에 따른 유출의 변동가능폭은 현재 상태보다 커질 것으로 예상된다.

수소-CNG 혼소기관의 공기과잉률 변화에 따른 희박가연한계 및 배출가스 특성에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on Lean-burn Limit and Emission Characteristics of Air-fuel Ratio in a CNG Engine)

  • Recently, the world faces the environmental problem such as air pollution due to harmful gas discharged from car and abnormal climate due to the green-house gases increased by the discharge of $CO_2$. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), one of alternative for this problem, is less harmful, compared to the existing fossil fuel, as gaseous fuel, and less carbon in fuel ingredients and carbon dioxide generation rate relatively favorable more than the existing fuel. However, CNG fuel has the weakness of slow flame propagation speed and difficult fast burn. On the other hand, hydrogen does not include carbon in fuel ingredients, and does not discharge harmful gas such as CO and HC. Moreover, it has strength of quick burning velocity and ignition is possible with small ignition energy source and it's has wide Lean Flammability Limit. If using this hydrogen with CNG fuel, the characteristics of output and discharge gas is improved by the mixer's burning velocity improved, and, at the same time, is possible to have stable lean combustion with the reduction of $CO_2$ expected. Therefore, this research tries to identify the characteristics of engine and emission gas when mixing CNG fuel and hydrogen in each portion and burning them in spark igniting engine, and grasp the lean combustion limit and emission gas characteristics according and use it as the basic data of hydrogen-CNG premixed engine.

  • 미래형 선박 동력장치는 경제성과 친환경성을 같이 요구하고 있다. 즉, 높은 에너지 효율과 함께 대기오염물질 및 온실가스의 배출을 낮추어야 한다. 최근 가스터빈은 효율과 안전성 면에서 많은 기술적 발전을 이룩하였으며 항공용 이외에 파워플랜트의 GT/ST 하이브리드시스템으로 채용의 사례를 넓히고 있다. 본 논문에서는 선박용으로 GT/ST 하이브리드시스템의 가능성을 평가하기 위하여 대용량이 아닌 수십 MW급에 대한 성능 특성을 시뮬레이션으로 검토하였다. 검토된 GT/ST 하이브리드시스템은 최대 효율이 49 %정도이고 TIT에 대하여 최고 효율점을 갖으며 가스터빈과 증기터빈의 부하분담률이 각각 70~75 % 그리고 25~30 % 정도였다.

HCNG 엔진의 NOx 배출특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the NOx Emission Characteristics of HCNG Engine)

  • Natural gas is one of the most promising alternatives to gasoline and diesel fuels because of its high thermal efficiency and lower harmful emissions, including $CO_2$. Although the high octane value of natural gas increases engine output and efficiency due to the high compression ratio, this fuel is prone to such difficulties as a narrow limit of inflammability and a slow combustion speed in the lean burn operation domain, leading to unstable combustion and higher emissions of harmful exhaust gases. Hydrogen blended with natural gas can extend the lean burn limit while maintaining stable, efficient combustion and achieving lower NOx, hydrocarbon and green house gas emissions. In this study, the effect of hydrogen addition on an engine performance and NOx emission characteristics was investigated in a heavy duty natural gas engine. The results showed that thermal efficiency was increased and NOx emissions were reduced due to the expansion of lean operation range under stable operation. NOx emission can be significantly reduced with the retard of spark advance timing.

교통부문 CO2 저감을 위한 지구단위설계 방법에 관한 연구 (A sutdy on the District Unit Design for CO2 Reduction of Transportation)

  • 본 연구에서는 지구단위 내 교통부문에서 다양한 도시설계 및 교통정책의 적용에 따른 $CO_2$의 배출량 효과를 분석해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 가상네트워크(Toy Network)를 설정하고 토지이용패턴과 교통정책을 접목한 19개의 시나리오를 가정한 후 교통수요 예측 프로그램인 EMME3를 이용하여 $CO_2$ 발생량을 산정하고 비교하였다. 그 결과 총 $CO_2$ 배출량이 가장 많이 감소한 정책은 지구의 중간부를 개발하면서 동시에 내부의 2차로 도로는 차량 통행을 금지시키고 보행자 천국을 만드는 것이었다. 총 $CO_2$량이 가장 많이 발생된 그룹은 교통공학에서 일반적으로 인식되어 왔던 적절한 도로위계에 따른 도로망 구성 및 접근통제 조절 정책이었다. 따라서 지구설계시 도로망 구성 및 접근통제는 세밀한 연구를 통해 실행되어야 할 것임을 알게 되었다.

국가 온실가스 인벤토리 축산부문 작성을 위한 온실가스 배출계수 개발 현황에 관한 연구 (A Research on the Status of Greenhouse Gas Emission Factors from Livestock Sector to Create a National Greenhouse Gas Inventories)

  • In this study, researches on the development of country specific greenhouse gas measurement and sampling methods from the livestock sector were reviewed. Research on greenhouse gas emission factors was started in early 2000 but was not actively involved in the development of livestock sector based emission factor: since 2009, works are underway for the development of livestock sector based emission factor. Most of the research on greenhouse gas emission in the field of animal studies were done by National Institute of Animal Science, because of the uniqueness of the research laboratories. Methods of emission measurement are still not internationally certified and therefore, measurement and sampling methods for Korea livestock sector are being studied, consulting the worldwide research trends. Flux chamber method are commonly using in Korea for green house gas emission factors measurement. In recent years, continuous measurement of the microclimate was introduced to measure greenhouse gases from livestock manure storage facilities and the micrometeorology method should be adapted as recommended by Intergovernmental Penal on Climate Change (IPCC) Guideline.

목재 바이오매스를 활용한 이중유동층 가스화기의 SNG 생산 (SNG Production from Wood Biomass with Dual Fluidized-Bed Gasifier)

  • 목재 바이오매스를 이용한 가스화 공정은 고열량의 합성가스를 통해 알콜류, SNG 등 다양한 에너지 자원으로 변환시킴으로써 자원의 재순환에 기여할 수 있으며, $CO_2$ 등의 온실가스를 감소시킴으로써 지구온난화 방지에 기여할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이중유동층 가스화기에 목재 바이오매스를 투입하여 가스화기의 최적운전 조건을 도출하고, SNG 생산효율을 검증함으로써 이중유동층 가스화기에 대한 국내 상용화 기반을 마련하고자 하였다. 목재 바이오매스에 대한 가스화기의 최적 운전조건 도출 결과, 운전온도 $826^{\circ}C$에서 Steam 투입량 1,334g/hr, Air 투입량 5.56L/min일 때 탄소전환율이 81%로 확인되었으며, SNG 생산을 위한 $CH_4$가스 농도를 확인한 결과, 92%로 나타났다.
