Sublimation vapour pressures and sublimation enthalpy of anhydrous bismuth trifluoride have been measured by the continuous gravimetric Cnudsen-effusion method from 639-7 to 782.8 K. Additional effusion measurements have also been made from 750.6 to 863.1 K by the torsion-effusion method. Based on a correlation of subHo298.15 and subSo298.15, a recommended P(T) equation has been obtained for BiF3(s); logP= -C/T+5.2375logT-3.205$\times$10-3+4.661$\times$104/T2+1.348 where P is in Pa, T in Kelvin, subHo298.15 in kJ mol-1 and C=( subHo298.15-13.5149)/1.9146$\times$10-2. Condensation coefficients and their temperature dependence have been derived from the effusion measurements.

Analysis of pultrusion process for the thermosetting composites containing volatiles was performed. Degree of cure, amount of volatile evolved and pulling force were calculated for the processing variables such as die temperature and pulling speed. Cure kinetics was modeled from the data obtained by DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimeter). The volatile evolution kinetics was modeled from the data by DSC as well as TGA(Thermo Gravimetric Analyzer). The cure kinetics and volatile evolution kinetics models were incorporated into the energy equation. The resulting governing equation was solved using finite element method. Pulling force was calculated through the analysis of pressure developed inside the pultrusion die. Experiments were performed and the data were compared with the calculated results. Good agreements were observed.
Prompt gamma activation analysis using a thermal neutron-guided beam at Japan Atomic Energy Agency JRR-3M was applied for the precise determination of Si in silicon nitride ceramic reference materials [Japan Ceramic Reference Material (JCRM) R 003]. In this study, the standard addition method coupled with internal standard was used for the nondestructive determination of Si in the sample. Cadmium was used as internal standard to obtain the linear calibration curves and to compensate for the neutron beam variability. The analytical result of determining Si in JCRM R 003 silicon nitride fine powder ceramic reference materials using prompt gamma activation analysis was in good agreement with that obtained by classical gravimetric analysis. The relative expanded measurement uncertainty (k = 2) associated with the determined value was 2.4%.

In this study, we investigated the corrosion damage characteristics of steel for offshore wind turbine tower substructure using an accelerated electrochemical test. The galvanostatic corrosion test method was employed with a conventional 3 electrode cell in natural sea water, and the steel specimen was served as a working electrode to induce corrosion in an accelerated manner. Surface and cross-sectional image of the damaged area were obtained by optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. The weight of the specimens was measured to determine the gravimetric change before and after corrosion test. The result revealed that the steel tended to suffer uniform corrosion rather than localized corrosion due to active dissolution reaction under the constant current regime. With increasing galvanostatic current density, the damage depth and surface roughness of surface was increased, showing approximately 25 times difference in damage depth between the lowest current density ($1mA/cm^2$) and the highest current density ($200mA/cm^2$). The gravimetric observation showed that the weight loss was proportionally increased with increment of current density that has 75 times different according by experimental conditions. Consequently, uniform corrosion of the steel specimen was conveniently induced by the electrochemically accelerated corrosion technique, and it was possible to control the extent of the corrosion damage by varying the current density.
Techniques of thermal analyses such as DSC and TGA have been used in the study of activation energy (Ea) and frequency factor (A) depending on the particle size of RDX and HMX. Activation energy and frequency factor were calculated by Kissinger's method and Vyazovkin's method. As the particle size of RDX increased, TGA showed activation energy increased, but DSC didn't show. However, In case of HMX, as the particle size increased, both of DSC and TGA showed increase in activation energy. Moreover, Vyazovkin's method can obtain activation energy and mechanism according to decomposition of RDX and HMX.

Fuel consumption measurement of hydrogen fuel cell vehicle is considerably different from internal combustion engine vehicle such as carbon balance method. A practical method of fuel consumption measurement has been developed for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. There are three method of hydrogen fuel consumption testing, gravimetric, PVT (pressure, volume and temperature), and mass flow, all of which necessitate physical measurements of the fuel supply. The purpose of this research is to measure the fuel consumption of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles on chassis-dynamometer and to give information when the research is intended to develop test method to measure hydrogen fuel economy.

Comparing to the gravimetric and volumetric method, the flowmeter calibration based on the master meter method is relatively economical and convenient, especially for high flowrate. The uncertainty of flow quantity and flowrate using the master meter method was evaluated according to the GUM (Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement). In order to apply for the wider flow range, two master meters (electromagnetic flow meter) were employed as reference flowmeters. The uncertainty of the master meter was obtained by combining the statistical variation of the repeated measurements and the variation of fluid density and pipe material due to temperature and pressure changes were scrutinized. for a practical application, the uncertainty of calibrator, whose measuring capacity of 1000 ㎥/h obtained by employing two 500 ㎥/h electromagnetic How meters, was evaluated. The uncertainty budget shows the quantitative contribution of each uncertainty component to the overall uncertainty of the calibrator. As a result, it was found that the dominant uncertainties were from the master meter, which was evaluated statistically, and from the process of least squares fitting. On the contrary, the uncertainties arising from the variation of the fluid density and the pipe volume due to the temperature and pressure were negligible.

Particular attention is paid to the validity of PM-10 measurement using beta attenuation method. In this study, the inter-comparison studies were undertaken for PM-10 sampler with different measuring methods. The three beta attenuation monitoring instruments (BAM1020, FH C-14, and DIGS-150) and filter based gravitational method using High Volume Air Sampler were collocated and mass concentrations were compared from August to November, 2006. The results of the investigation show that beta attenuation monitoring instruments are comparable with gravitational method within 10% of measurement error. For specific conditions under high humidity and high concentrations, the inter-comparison results also showed a relatively good agreement and this can be explained as the effect of inlet heating of beta attenuation instrument. Subsequently, this study shows that beta attenuation monitoring instruments can be equivalently used with reasonable validity when compared gravimetric method.
We formed silver nanocrystallites by the thermal decomposition of a $Ag^{+1}$-oleate complex, which was prepared by a reaction with $AgNO_{3}$ and sodium oleate in a water solution. The resulting monodispersed silver nanocrystallites were produced by controlling the temperature (290$^{\circ}$C). Transmission electron microscopic (TEM) images of the particles showed a 2-dimensional assembly of the particles with a diameter of $9.5{\pm}0.7nm$, demonstrating the uniformity of these nanocrystallites. An energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectrum and X-ray diffraction (XRD) peaks of the nanocrystallites showed the highly crystalline nature of the silver structure. We analyzed the decomposition of the $Ag^{+1}$-oleate complex using a Thermo Gravimetric Analyzer (TGA) and observed the crystallization process using XRD.
