This study is investigated for angle of elbow joint influence on grasp strength, confirm change of grasp strength and brachioradialis thickness according to angle of elbow joint in standing. Thirty male and female university students, who participated with agreement in this study, using for electronic dynamometer and convertible ultrasound measure maximum grasp strength and brachioradialis thickness after elbow joint $0^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$ positioning in standing. In average grasp strength was strongest at elbow joint $0^{\circ}$, as the angle of elbow joint increased, was decreased grasp strength, no significant statistically(p<.05). In average brachioradialis thickness was lowest at elbow joint $0^{\circ}$, as the angle of elbow joint increased, was increased brachioradialis thickness, significant statistically(p<.05). These result may indicated that change of elbow joint angle not influence on grasp strength, but influence on brachioradialis thickness.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to explore an effect exerted to non-affected hand and affected hand of patients by performing training of chopsticks and grasp strength that are helpful to dexterity and grasp strength of hand together with training method of joint exercise, muscle strength build-up training, delicate hand function training. Method : By targeting 30 normal adult male/females engaged in K university, Busan for one month on April, 2015, 10 persons of hand function build-up training group, that of dexterity training group and 10 persons of control group were randomly selected. For hand function build-up training group, chopsticks training in parallel with total 20 times of grasp strength training for 4 weeks including 5 minutes of dominant hand grasp strength training, 5 minutes of non-dominant hand grasp strength training, 15 minutes of chopsticks training was performed based on 25 minutes/one time, 5 times a week. Result : First, In a comparison of dexterity of both hands by each group depending on training period, hand function build-up group and dexterity training group were represented to be effective compared with control group. Secondly, In a comparison of manipulatory ability of both hands by each group depending on training period, hand function build-up group and dexterity training group were represented to be effective compared with control group. Conclusion : It is considered that diversified and broad research covering patients with musculoskeletal disease and nervous system-related disease would be performed by securing far more test subjects after comparing a correlation between dexterity training and hand function training.
The purpose of study to know hand function in order to prevent disability or handicap. The ability to perform precise refined movements of hand is an important human function. Improvement in object manipulation is common goal of therapist. The ability to manipulate an object in the hand is need for many functional tasks, including writing, handling coins, small objects and ADL skills. Therapists have commonly used hand grip and pinch strengths as baseline measures to evaluate hand function. The patterns of grasps are precision grasp, power grasp, hook grasp, spherical grasp, sylindrical grasp, disc grasp, pinch, three point pinch and tip pinch. And the motion of in-manipulation are finger to palm translation, palm to finger, shift, simple rotation and complex rotation. The hand function are include to evaluate of ROM, sensation, muscle strength of hand. It used to evaluate of decision of effect and suppose of disability and acceptance of vocation. Good evaluation is need to pretreatment and baseline of treatment and help to evaluate of effect on treatment.

Nowadays, with high-storied and large-sized of structures, high-strength concrete is applied to the various kinds of concrete structure. Among of them, for reduction of completion time, high-strength concrete is applied to the high-storied tower, building which is constructed continuously by the slip-form method and it is expected to be on the increase. In this case, it is very important to grasp development of early-strength to apply the slip-form method. But the strength data prior 1 day is rare. Therefore, to apply slip-form method in field, this study aim is to present basic data for development of early-strength of high-strength concrete, through examining development of strength by different curing temperature, replacement of fly-ash.

The purpose of this experimental study is to investigate the shear behavior of high-strength concrete deep beam and to grasp the conservatism of ACI Building Code. Experimental results on 12 deep beams under two equal symmetrically placed point loads are reported. Main variables are vertical and horizontal web reinforcement and shear span-to-overall depth ratio. Test results indicated that web reinforcement dose not affect on formation of inclined cracks but shear span-to-overall depth ratio affect on inclined shear cracks and ultimate shear strength. Addition of vertical web reinforcement improves ultimate shear strength of H.S.C. deep beams that shear span-to-overall depth ratio is 1.0. Considerable increase in ultimate shear strength of H.S.C. deep beams with increasing horizontal web reinforcement that shear span-to-overall depth ratio is 0.5. Especially with increasing concrete strength($f_{ck}$) the ACI code is conservative in estamating the ultimate shear strength of deep beams.
The strength of material is scattered owing to the inhomogenity of microstructure, in spite of the same material. Therefore, in order to design the mechanical structure with the reliability engineering, it is important to grasp the statistic nature of material strength. In this paper, effects of grain sizes for the statistical nature of the fatigue crack growth was discussed. And the statistical of mechanical properties was compared with statistical nature of the fatigue crack growth rate.

In this paper, we introduce a flexible gripper that we have engineered to precisely pinch in parallel and compliantly grasp objects. As found in most conventional industrial grippers, the parallel pinching property is essential for precise manipulation. On the other hand, the grippers with a flexible structure are more adept at grasping objects with arbitrary shapes and softness. To achieve these disparate properties, we introduce a flexible gripper mechanism composed of multiple flexible beam structures. Utilizing these beam structures, the proposed gripper is able to grasp arbitrarily shaped objects. Additionally, a unique combination of flexible beams enables the gripper to pinch objects using the parallel fingertips for enhanced precision. A detailed description of the proposed mechanism is provided, and an analysis of the strength and stiffness of the fingertip and finger body is presented. The Results section compares the theoretical and experimental analyses and verifies the properties and performance of the proposed gripper.
