  • This paper presents development of the program which calculates the electric quantities such as current, voltage at each element of railway electrification system in static state. The purpose of this program is to estimate the adequacy of railway electrification system through simulations. And it contributes the estimations for optimal railway electrification system by calculating the maximum current and voltage. The simulation program is coded through GUI(Graphic User Interface) technique for user to operate easily.

  • This paper presents the new algorithm for fault analysis and this algorithm obtains requisite term for fault analysis by the two-port network technique. Therefore, the fault calculation time is composed of only few fundamental arithmetic calculation. The graphic user environment for fault analysis is implemented in mouse-oriented user interface with window and pull-down menu. The result of the algorithm proved to be identical with the sample system in Ref.[8]. this package can be a useful tool for fault analysis.

This algorithm obtains requisite term for fault analysis by the two-port network technique. Therefore, the fault calculation time is minimized because ${Y_{BUS}}^{-1}$ calculation time is removed. And, the graphic user environment for fault analysis is implemented in mouse-oriented user interface with window and pull-down menu. Therefore, this package can be a useful tool for fault analysis.

  • 디지털미디어 환경에서 메시지는 언어적 표현이외에도 다양한 영상으로 의미를 표현하고 인터페이스에서 이와 같은 메시지의 표현이 나타난다. 인터페이스에서 이러한 메시지 구성의 변화는 인간에게 메시지의 수용을 수동적 수용에서 능동적 수용으로 변화시키고 있다. 최근 개발된 인터페이스는 사용자로 하여금 다양한 시각적 효과를 경험하게 하고 있다. 인터페이스에서 전해지는 의미의 전달은 모호하지만 사용자는 감각적으로는 강한 인상을 받는다. 이와 같은 다양한 비언어적인 메시지 영상 표현을 인터페이스를 통해 경험하고 있다. 비언어적 메시지 영상들은 사용자에게 어떤 메시지를 전하고 있지만 사용자마다 받아들이는 해석은 다르다. 그 이유는 비언어적 메시지 영상은 의사소통에 있어서 개념화되지 않아 사람마다 의미의 차이를 보이고, 사용자에게 인터페이스의 사용 경험에 있어서 즉흥적인 시각 경험을 주기 때문이다. 의미는 모호하지만 감각을 지극히는 즉흥적이고 화려한 영상 효과는 디지털 미디어 환경에서 흔히 나타나는 현상이 되었고 일상화되며 즐기고 있다. 비언어적 메시지 영상 표현은 아직 개념화되지 않은 커뮤니케이션의 시각적 표현의 확장이고, 나아가 사용자들에게 제공되는 또 하나의 메시지가 될 수 있다. 따라서 다양한 시각표현을 제공하는 인터페이스(GUI)에서는 시각적 감각만을 통해 수용하기 보다는 다감각적인 분산적 지각으로 수용한다.

  • Tangible user interfaces have attracted strong attention in the HCI(Human and Computer Interface) community for their ability to take advantage of skills humans develop in the real world. We are developing "tangible media aided design system" which employs physical objects i.e., brick as interfacing media for 3D graphic modeling. This system is targeting for persons who are afraid of experiencing 3D graphic modeling and virtual space, or have a sense of reluctance in approaching to them. Our approach suggests the easiest way for people to experience computer system and virtual space carefree while developing and improving their space sense. This work is one of initial explorations of media aided design system using tangible user interfaces.

Development of an Automation Tool for the Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis of Machine Tool Spindles

  • In this study, an automation tool was developed for rapid evaluation of machine tool spindle designs with automated three-dimensional finite element analysis (3D FEA) using solid elements. The tool performs FEA with the minimum data of point coordinates to define the section of the spindle shaft and bearing positions. Using object-oriented programming techniques, the tool was implemented in the programming environment of a CAD system to make use of its objects. Its modules were constructed with the objects to generate the geometric model and then to convert it into the FE model of 3D solid elements at the workbenches of the CAD system using the point data. Graphic user interfaces were developed to allow users to interact with the tool. This tool is helpful for identification of a near optimal design of the spindle based on, for example, stiffness with multiple design changes and then FEAs.

  • In this research, a tool was developed to automate one-dimensional finite element analysis (1D FEA) for design of a machine tool spindle. Based on object-oriented programing, this tool employs the objects of a CAD system to construct a geometric model and then to convert it into the FE model of 1D beams at the workbenches of the CAD system with minimum data to define the spindle such as bearing positions and cross-sections of the shaft. Graphic user interfaces were developed for users to interact with the tool. This tool is helpful in identifying a near optimal design of the spindle with the automation of the FEA process with numerous design changes in minimum time and efforts. It is also expected to allow even design engineers to perform the FEA in search of an optimal design of the machine tool spindle.

  • The study of Web GUI(Graphic User Information) system for Virtual Reality System is mainly performed on effective methodology which transform real world data to computing world data. MGIS(Marine Geographic Information System) has its own target on reliable data service by acquisition of geometric information using accurate measurement and graphical visualization. This type of raw data visualization can be built without software tools, yet is incredibly useful for interpreting and communicating data. Even simple visualizations can aid in the interpretation of complex 3D relationships that are frequently encountered in the geosciences. The Virtual Reality Modeling Language provides an easy way for geoscientists to construct complex visualizations that can be viewed with free software. This study propose a three dimensional Web GUI system using MGIS-based three dimensional data models and virtual imaging system. Finally, we design a Web GUI system integrating above data models.

방공교전모델(DADSim) 개발 및 활용사례 (Distributed Air Defense Simulation Model and its Applications)

  • In this paper, air-defense simulation model, called "DADSim", will be introduced. DADSim(Distributed Air Defense Simulation Model) was developed by Modeling&Simulation Lab of K.N.D.U.(Korea National Defence Univ) Weapon Systems Department. This model is an analysis-purpose model in the engagement-level. DADSim can simulate not only the global air-defense or Korean Peninsula but also the local air-defense or a battle field. DADSim uses the DTED(digital terrain elevation data) LeveII it for the representation of peninsula terrain characteristics. The weapon systems cooperated in the model are low/medium-range missile systems such as HAWK, NIKE, SAM. DADSim was designed in the way of object-oriented development method, implemented by C++ language. The simulation view is an event-sequenced object-orientation. For the convenience of input, output analysis, GUI(Graphic User Interface) of menu, window, dialog box, etc. are provided to the user, For the execution of DADSim, Silicon Graphic IRIX 6.3 or high version is required. DADSim can be used for the effectiveness analysis of­defence systems. Some illustrative examples will be shown in this paper.

  • 행렬도(biplots)란 행과 열을 그래프에 동시에 나타내어 이들의 관계를 살피려는 다변량 그래픽분석 기법이다. 이를 활용하기 위해서 사용자들이 수작업으로 일일이 프로그래밍해야 했던 불편함엣 벗어나 GUI(Graphic User Interface)환경으로 메뉴에 의해서 사용하기에 편한 행렬도 시스템의 개발을 소개한다. 구체적으로 본 시스템의 개발 방법, 과정, 구성 그리고 예제를 통해 실행결과를 확인하고 결론을 통해 추후 연구과제와 발전방향을 제시한다.
