Korean Government has developed Sejong City as a new administration city. This city of future was planned and designed toward one of the most eco-friendly city on the basis of ICTs. To attain this object, a carbon emission monitoring system (CEMS) was designed and installed as a part of u-city service which provides various information anytime and anywhere to enrich the people's quality of life. In this paper, at first, the structure and functions of CEMS are introduced. This system is consist of 5 parts - data collection from user and linked public DBs, transforming data into meaningful information for the policy makers, system-user interfacing via statistical tables and graphs, and system maintenance. This system can be operated by the citizen participation through whole the process. With the help of GIS map and graphic interface, statistics of monitored data for both citizen and decision maker provided and after feed-back, they have affected on the behaviour of citizen's energy consumption and related policy as well. By the CEMS, energy consumption data of 124 agreed households were collected during 9 months in 2012. Electricity, gas and water consumption were remote-metered automatically by the system and analysed. This showed that more than 85% of CO2 emission is rely on electricity usage. Furthermore, number of family members and size of house influences on the emission of CO2 by each household together with the life-style of the occupants. Electricity and water consumption showed the seasonal factor while gas consumption represents the number of family members. Even this paper has limitations caused by 9 months of data collection, it shows the policy directions to reduce the emission of CO2 focusing on the house size and number of family members of each households. With the result of this research, life-style of the generation of dwellers should be investigated and the CO2 emission characteristics of other housing type as well for the data building for future policy making.
Factors related to health promotion activities and quality of life in Korean women with arthritis have not been clearly identified. Predictors of health promotion might be identified that will enhance the well - being of this group. Accordingly, the findings of the study will contribute additional information about the relationship between health promotion and quality of life and will add to the research on quality of life of individuals with a leading cause of disability--arthritis. The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship of selected background factors (years of illness, perceived severity of illness, uncertainty in illness), perceived self- efficacy, and health promoting behaviors to the quality of life of Korean women with arthritis. A cross - sectional descriptive design was used in this study to investigate relationships among the variables of interest. The sample was composed of 96 women who had arhtrits and visited large university hospital in Seoul for regular check up or pre-scription of medication. The purpose of a descriptive correlational design was to determine the absence or presence of relationships among variables that were measurable (Polit & Hungler, 1981, p.147). The design of this study was appropriate because it yielded answers to the research questions and hypotheses regarding the relationships among the model variables. the Questionnaire contained demographic information, translated Mishel Uncertainty in illness Scale-Community form (MUIS-C) (Mishel, 1987), translated and modified Disease Course Graphic Scale(DCGS) which was developed by Braden (1990), translated Sherer. et al.’s General Self-Efficacy Scale (1982), The Health -Promoting Lifestyle Profile (HPLP), developed by Walker, Sechrist, and Fender (1987) and traslated to Korean by Ha, and quality of life was measured by Face Scale (Andrew, 1976). Several steps of verification for the translation process were carefully conducted. Data analysis included descriptive correlational statistics and multiple regression techniques. Health promotion was the only contributor to pre-dict quality of life. Results showed that enabling cognitive perceptual factor (self-efficacy) mediates the disruptive force (uncertainty in ill-ness) on achieving a health promoting self- help behavior. The findings of this study also indicated that illness - related variable of severity of illness was mediated by health promotion, which buffered it's impact on quality of life.
Using a smartphone allows quick and easy authentication and payment. However, smartphone security threats are evolving into a variety of new hacking technologies, and are changing to attacks specific to the mobile environment. Therefore, there is a demand for an authentication method suitable for a mobile environment. In order to solve security weaknesses in knowledge-based authentication, many companies provide two-step authentication services such as OTP(One Time Password) to provide authentication services such as finance, games, and login. Although OTP service is easy to use, it is easy to duplicate random number table and has a disadvantage that can be reused because it is used as valid value within time limit. In this paper, we propose a mechanism that enables users to quickly and easily authenticate with high security using the authentication method that recognizes special characters through smartphone's dedicated application.

A GIS is capable of extracting various hydrological factors from DEM(digital elevation mong various geometric characteristics of watershed. In this study, watershed itself and other geometric factors of watershed are extracted from DEM by using a GIS technique. The manual process of tasks to obtain geometric characteristics of watershed is automated. by using the function of ARC/INFO software as a GIS package. Scanned data is used for this study and it is converted to DEM data Various forms of representation of spatial data are handled in main modules and a GRID module of ARC/INFO. A GRID module is used on a stream in order to define watershed boundary, so it would be possible to obtain the watersheds. Also, a flowdirection, stream networks and others are generated. The results show that GIS can aid watershed management and research and surveillance. Also the geometric characteristics as parameters of watershed can be quantified by a using GIS technique. Resonable results can be obtained as compared with conventional graphic methods.

V.M.D(Visual Merchandising Design) covers every space, environment, and visually stimulating factor. This includes not only the architectural appearance but interior, graphic sign boards, window display, layout, store appliances, lighting, and even the looks and service attitude that sales employees have and show to customers. V.M.D aims to display merchandise in multiple ways; to heighten brand images; to steadily lure many customers to the store. One of the characteristics that V.M.D has is, that this abandons the previous design concept which solely puts stress on luxurious interior-focused display; that this displays merchandise in a rational and systemic way and induces customers to buy products. In this regard, the objective of this study is to study brand perception and effect of V.M.D displayed in the stores, on customers, and thereby to present the concepts of V.M.D, suitable for display in the stores, which can be used continuously in the future.

The purposes of this study were 1) to estimate the brand loyalty related to clothing items,2) to investigate the differences between the brand loyal group and the brand disloyal group in 4 determinant variables (product involvement, information source, purchase-related and demo- graphic variables) of brand loyalty, 3) to find out important determinant variables which explain the brand loyalty on clothing items, and 4) to identify product attributes that lead to brand loyalty on clothing items. Four clothing items selected (ortho study were underwear, jean / skirt, T-shirt / sweater, and formal dress / suits. The questionnaire was administered to 529 adult women living in Seoul, and the methods used to analyze the data were Frequency, T-Test, $x^{2}-test$, Factor Analysis and Multiple Discriminant Analysis. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Both behavior and attitude are needed for the measurement of brand loyalty in clothing. The hightes brand loyal item was formal dress / suits, followed by jean / skirt, T-shirt / sweater, underwear. 2) There were some significant differences between the brand loyal group and the brand disloyal group in 4 determinant variables of brand loyalty. 3) The important determinant variables of brand loyalty were perceived risk / brand differ-ence, purchase experience / self-confidence in purchase, and product symbolic / hedonic mean-ing, of which the most important varible was found to be perceived risk / brand difference. 4) The most important product attribute that lead to brand loyalty for underwear was comfort whereas for the other 3 clothing items, it was style. Quality was the second important productattributeforallclothingitems.

Exercise is an important strategy for health promotion in patients having osteoarthritis. But, lots of patients with osteoarthritis were underexercised. Exercise pattern and influencing factors of exercise barrier are not well-known. To address this issue, we studied the exercise pattern and influencing factors of exercise barrier in patients with osteoarthritis. The subjects of the study were 463 adult osteoarthritis (Mean age = 61.63 years) who had diagnosed osteoarthritis by rheumatologist. Data were gathered from May 1999 to February 2000 using a questionnaire and exercise barrier(Sallis et al, 1989), exercise pattern(Lee et al., 2000), physical status by WOMAC(Bellamy, 1989), socail support(Sallis et al., 1989), fatigue and pain using graphic rating scale, depression by CES-D(Radloff,1977). Data were analyzed with the SPSS win 6.0 using frequency, ANOVA, Stepwise multiple regression. The results of this study were as follows; 1) 56.4% of sample was 'do not exercise at all', 'longer rest than exercise', was 15.9%, 'longer exercise than rest' was 7.2%, 'exercise regularly' was 20.5%. 2) Social support (F=10.349, p=0.000) and exercise barrier(F=4.455, p=0.004) were showed significantly difference by exercise pattern. 3) Influencing factors of exercise barrier were depression and social support. Thoses explained 13.3% of exercise barrier. In conclusion, half of osteoarthritis patient did not do exercise and it was shown that depression and social support were major influencing factors to exercise barrier. The results of this study can be applied to develop the health promoting educational program for patients with osteoarthritis.

The purposes of this study were to characterize the local levels of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), to develop source profiles of VOCs, and to quantify the source contribution of VOCs using the CMB (chemical mass balance) model. The concentration of VOCs had been measured every 6-day duration in the SRO monitoring site in the Yeosu Petrochemical Industrial Complex from September 2000 to August 2002. The total of 35 target VOCs, which were included in the TO-14 designated from the U.S. EPA, was selected to be monitored in the study area. During a 24-h period, the ambient VOCs were sampled by using canisters placing about 10 ~ 15 m above the ground level. The collected canisters were then analyzed by a GC-MS in the laboratory. Aside from ambient sampling at the SRO site, the VOCs had been intensively and massively measured from 8 direct sources and 4 general sources in the study area. The results obtained in the study were as follows; first, the annual mean concentrations of the target VOCs were widely distributed regardless of monitoring sites in the Yeosu Petrochemical Industrial Complex. In particular, the concentrations of BTX (Benzene, Toluene, Xylene), vinyl chloride were higher than other target compounds. Second, based on these source sample data, source profiles for VOCs were developed to apply a receptor model, the CMB model. Third, the results of source apportionment study for the VOCs in the SRO Site were as follows; The source of petrochemical plant was apportioned by 31.3% in terms of VOCs mass. The site was also affected by 16.7% from wastewater treatment plant, 14.0% from iron mills, 8.4% from refineries, 4.4% from oil storage, 3.8% from automobiles, 2.3% from fertilizer, 2.3% from painting, 2.2% from waste incinerator, 0.6% from graphic art, and 0.4% from gasoline vapor sources.

Bicycle is one of the most popular mode of transport due to the increase of interest in the well-being and environment pollution. Before fabricating a continuously variable transmission that is applied to the actual bicycle, for reducing the problems in the early stage, the reliable simulation program has been applied and the financial problem can be solved. In this paper, in order to confirm the design factor, the stress analysis has been applied. In all models, each link and the joint portion are assumed to be a major design factors, and impact of each link and joints received stress during the operation and it is confirmed by using the CAE. Also, for the analysis region, the special code has been developed to calculate pulsation phenomenon through appropriate mathematical modeling.
