A analysis on trends of offline mobile payment technology based on short range communication (근거리 통신 기반 오프라인 모바일 결제 기술 동향 분석)

  • Recently, with the pintech fever, competition among global IT companies in the mobile payment market is becoming more competitive. In this paper, we analyze the mobile payment technology trends. We describe the features, technical advantages and disadvantages for each mobile payment type using the short range communication and analyze the characteristics of each mobile payment services of the global market leader Apple, Samsung and Google has launched. Since the rapid growth in the mobile payment market is expected, the study of a variety of short range communication and security technology is considered to be necessary in order to provide more stable service.

  • NFC (Near Field Communication) was developed by SONY, NXP in 2002 and in 2003 respectively. It is one type of standard shore-range wireless communication system which operates in 13.56 MHz frequency band, within 10 cm distance and enables data transfer between devices with maximum rate of 424kbps. Various studies have been done on NFC technology and many handset manufacturers such as Apple, Google, Samsung Electronics Co., are trying to expand their market for new mobile services using this technology. This paper analyses the NFC standard technology, its trends and prospects in chapter II, which is followed by NFC systems and communication method in chapter III, and eventually NFC trends and future views is explained in chapter IV.

A Review of Practical Use and Research Trends on Nursing Management Minimum Data Sets (NMMDS) (Nursing Management Minimum Data Sets (NMMDS) 연구의 최신 동향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review articles on Nursing Management Minimum Data Sets (NMMDS) and to suggest strategies to improve practical use of NMMDS in nursing management. Methods: A systematic search for articles published until 2013 was undertaken using the following biomedical databases: CINAHL, PubMed, and Google scholar. Seventeen articles were fully reviewed. Results: The results showed that studies were related to updating NMMDS reflecting current EHR use, mapping NMMDS to standardized national databases, and validating, translating and evaluating NMMDS for international uses. NMMDS has three dimensions and was developed reflecting the needs of nurse managers. Conclusion: The study findings provide a summary of recent trends in NMMDS. These results can serve as basic information to promote practical use of NMMDS in the healthcare organization to provide nursing management data for nurse managers.

  • Deep learning is a hot topic in both academic and industrial fields. Deep learning applications can be categorized into two areas. The first category involves applications such as Google Alpha Go using interfaces with human operators to run complicated inference engines in high-performance servers. The second category includes embedded applications for mobile Internet-of-Things devices, automotive vehicles, etc. Owing to the characteristics of the deployment environment, applications in the second category should be bounded by certain H/W and S/W restrictions depending on their running environment. For example, image recognition in an autonomous vehicle requires low latency, while that on a mobile device requires low power consumption. In this paper, we describe issues faced by embedded applications and review popular inference engines. We also introduce a project that is being development to satisfy the H/W and S/W requirements.

  • Patent information describes the history of technological progress in the relevant field, so it can be usefully used to identify trends in technological development and change and to establish R&D development strategies. This study proposes a method to identify the needs and problems of technology development at the planning stage of the R&D process and to analyze core technologies through patent analysis using Natural Language Processing(NLP) technology. As a big data source, collected patent documents registered in Google Patents for foldable technology, the latest technology in the display industry, and then extracted keywords using NLP analyzer. By classifying the extracted keywords into needs and problems for technology development, developed technology and materials, identified the needs of the market and customers and analyzed the technologies being researched and developed. Unlike previous studies that performed patent analysis, this methodology is different in that it can quickly and conveniently analyze the latest technology trends from big data called patents even if you do not have specialized knowledge and skills in the text mining. This study contributes to the digitalization of the R&D process based on data analysis.

Research Trends in Diabetes Mellitus Self-Management Intervention: The Scoping Review (당뇨병 자가관리 중재 연구동향: 주제범위 문헌고찰)

  • Purpose: The present study aims to identify research trends on diabetes mellitus (DM) self-management intervention, suggesting directions for follow-up studies through a scoping review. Methods: This study conducted the scoping review process outlined by Arskey and O' Malley using the JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute) template. The databases used were Riss, Kiss, NDSL, KMbase, Google Scholar. This study searched the literature published between January 2011 and November 2021 by entering keywords related to DM self-management. Results: Thirty-five studies were selected for analysis. The period for 24 articles was 12 weeks or longer. The interventions consisted of education, exercise, counseling, and coaching. Not all studies applied the theory of behavior change. Fourteen studies included three factors relating to behavioral, cognitive, emotional, and blood sugar changes to measure effectiveness, while ten studies included all four factors. Most interventions were effective both in DM self-management and self-care. Further, the intervention persistence effect of each study varied. Conclusion: While research on DM self-management intervention has been conducted at domestically and abroad, this decreased during COVID-19 pandemic. This study suggests the importance of systematically developing effective necessary optimal DM self-management interventions that can change behaviors to prevent diabetic complications and improve quality of life.

What Factors Are Linked to Profitability among Hospitals?: A Review on the Research Trends (병원의 수익성은 무엇으로 결정되는가?: 국내 연구의 동향 분석)

  • There have been numerous attempts at finding factors associated with profitability among hospitals in the Republic of Korea. Factors that have been shown to be related to hospital profitability have not yet been systematically reviewed. The purpose of this study was to compile and summarize published works investigating the factors associated with hospital profitability in the Republic of Korea. We searched Research Information Sharing Service, Korea studies Information Service System, Database Periodical Information Academic, Korean Medical Database, KoreaMed, and Google Scholar from 1980 to November 2013. In addition, we manually searched reference lists from eligible studies. Review of 20 peer-reviewed articles revealed that very few of the variables employed in the eligible studies exerted consistent association with profitability, with the exception of personal cost (i.e., employee salaries). Future studies should take our findings into consideration before conducting research on hospital profitability.

  • 올해 초, 구글(Google)이 SHA-1의 충돌 현상을 입증했다. 이것은 모든 타 암호 알고리즘 역시 안전할 수 없다는 것을 뜻하며, 향후 SHA-256을 사용하는 비트코인도 취약해질 수 있음을 의미한다. 이유인즉슨, 비트코인에서 사용되는 암호 및 해시 알고리즘은 답을 찾기 위해 상당한 시간이 소요되지만, 양자 컴퓨터의 큐비트를 바탕으로 하는 연산처리 능력은 그 시간을 대폭 감소시킬 수 있기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 양자 컴퓨터가 비트코인에 얼마나 위협적일 수 있는지와 더불어 양자 컴퓨터 출현에 대비하고자 등장한 새로운 암호 화폐인 Byteball 및 QRL코인을 살펴보고자 한다.

  • 언제부터인가 주위는 모두 "녹색" 물결로 뒤덥혀 버렸다. 그 중에서도 IT의 존재는 녹색 물결에 휩싸여 새로운 판로를 모색하고 있다. 데이터센터 역시 그 문제점은 수 년전부터 대두되어 왔고, 정책적으로 혹은 업계 자체적으로 데이터센터의 문제점을 해결하고자 많은 솔루션을 내고 있는 실정이다. 그린 데이터센터를 위한 견해는 먼저 비 IT영역으로 공조, 항온/항습 시설, 전력 배전 시설 등의 관점에서 접근하는 견해가 있고 IT영역으로 서버 자체에 대한 관점에서 접근하는 견해가 있다. 본 고에서는 데이터센터 내에서 IT 영역에 대한 전력 관리를 위하여 해야 될 역할에 대하여 언급하고자 한다. 특히 데이터센터 내 서버 자체의 전력 절감을 위한 방법에 대하여 논하고, 앞선 업체들 특히 IBM, Google, SUN 등의 동향으로부터 그린 데이터센터를 위한 방향을 모색해 보기로 한다.

  • 약 20년 전 세상의 이목을 끌었다가 무너진 꿈으로 남아있는 위성벤처 1.0. 즉 텔레데식, 이리디움 등으로 대표되던 대규모 저궤도 위성군(Big LEO) 통신시스템이 다시 추진되고 있다. 이른바 위성벤처 2.0으로 불리우는 스페이스엑스(Space Exploration Technologies: SpaceX). 원웹(OneWeb), 리오셋(Leosat) 등의 저궤도 위성군 통신시스템의 경쟁적 재등장이다. 이 배경에는 인터넷 업체인 구글(Google)과 페이스북(Facebook)이 관련되어 있다. 이미 과거의 경험이 있는 상황이기 때문에 성공가능성에 대한 기대가 상당히 크지만 회의론도 만만치 않다. 이들의 등장배경과 각 시스템의 기술적 제안, 비지니스 모델, 그리고 네트워크 구축 및 운용경비 절감을 위한 각각의 전략적 접근에 대해서 간략히 알아본다. 기존 이리디움이나 글로벌스타도 1세대 위성수명이 다하여 이제 2세대 위성군으로 업그레이드된 상태이라 신구 시스템 간의 차별적 경쟁도 이제 피할 수 없게 되었다. 신규제안 시스템의 성공적 안착을 위한 고려사항과 이러한 흐름에 대한 우리나라의 대응도 살펴보았다.
