Glass-ceramics possessed a number of characteristics which suggested their suggested their use for sealing to metals. The choice of particular glass-ceramics compositions for this application is governed by various factors, including workability of the glasses, thermal expansion characteristics and the matching of these to appropriate metals. Other properties, such as mechanical strength, determined the performance of glass-ceramics to metal seals. The purpose of the present study was to investigate direct sealing behaviour of copper to $Li_2O-ZnO-SiO_2$ system glass-ceramics. The design of the seal was a concentric seal which might contribute to the strong bond formation by providing compressive stress during thermal excursions. Tensile strengths of sealing layers were measured by Instron test machine. The layers were examined by electron probe microanalyzer. Crsystallization rate was increased with the amount of ZnO or $Li_2O$, and ZnO increased the sealing strength, but $Li_2O$ lowered it. Sealing mechanism was due to the formation of metal oxides, which acted as binder between copper and glass-ceramics. The nickle-plated copper seal with 10% $Li_2O$ and 30% ZnO was the most strong seal, and its sealing strength was more than 56kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$.
In structural applications, brittle materials such as soda-lime glasses and ceramics are often subjected to multiaxial stress. Brittle materials with crack or damaged by foreign object impacts are abruptly fractured from cracks, because of their properities of very high strength and low fracture toughness. But in most cases, the residual strength has been derived from tests under uniaxial stress such as a 4-point bend test. The strengths under multiaxial stresses might be different from the strength. In comparable tests, the residual strength under biaxial stress state by the ball-on-ring test was greater than that under the uniaxial one by the 4-point bend test. In the case that crack having 90deg. to loading direction, the ratio of biaxial to uniaxial flexure strength was 1.12. At a different crack angle to loading direction when it was evaluated by the 4-point bend test, the residual strength was different and the ratio of 45deg. to 90deg. was 1.16.

Interests in face recognition area have been increasing due to diverse emerging applications. Face recognition algorithm from a two-dimensional source could be challenging in dealing with some circumstances such as face orientation, illuminance degree, face details such as with/without glasses and various expressions, like, smiling or crying. Hopfield Network capabilities have been used specially within the areas of recalling patterns, generalizations, familiarity recognitions and error corrections. Based on those abilities, a specific experimentation is conducted in this paper to apply the Redundant Parallel Hopfield Network on a face recognition problem. This new design has been experimentally confirmed and tested to be robust in any kind of practical situations.

A glass product manufacturing company transports a large number of flat glass products from a manufacturing firm to a building construction site. The products are transported using specially designed racks, which assure fewer glass breakages during the deliveries. This study determines the sizes of the racks which minimize the total logistics cost including costs for rack purchasing, handling, transportation, and inventory costs. The determination of the rack size should consider tradeoff relationships between the amount of glasses piled in a rack and the number of racks loaded on a truck, and affects the required number of racks and the truck operational cost. A truck loading algorithm is proposed to maximize a high truck utilization, and an enumeration method is proposed to determine the optimal combination of rack sizes considering the total logistics cost. The numerical example is solved by using a real data.
This study investigates the structural integrity of the amphibious tour bus under the rollover condition. The multi-purpose bus called Dual Mode Tour Bus (DMTB) which explores on land and water has been designed on top of a truck platform. Prior to the fabrication of new upper body and sailing equipment of DMTB, computational analysis investigates the rollover protection of the proposed structure including superstructure, wheels, and axles. The Computer-Aided Design (CAD) of the whole vehicle model is meshed and preprocessed under high performance using the Altair HyperMesh to attain the best mesh model suited for finite element analysis (FEA) on the proposed system. Meanwhile, the numerical model is analyzed by employing LS-DYNA to evaluate the superstructure strength. The numerical model includes detail information about the microstructure and considers wheels and axles as rigid bodies but excludes window glasses, seats, and interior parts. Based on the simulation analysis and proper modifications especially on the rear portion of the bus, the local stiffness significantly increased. The vehicle is rotated to the contact point on the ground based on the mathematical method presented in this study to save computational cost. The results show that the proposed method of rollover analysis is highly significant not only in bus rollover tests but in crashworthiness studies for other application. The critical impartments in our suggested dual-purpose bus accepted and passed "Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) R66".

Content development is highly complete as an educational content in that it can be omitted or repeated by customers, and it is expected to be a board game using interesting smart glasses for the MZ generation.
Interior design especially the design developments for commercial spaces should ensure the economy of spaces. This is the marketing for space. It is necessary to understand the design elements of commercial space for the efficient using of digital media of space marketing. In this research decided to design application schemes for shopping mall by searching fashion shopping behaviors of users with persona-base scenario approach. Collected the information of users behavior base on case analysis of advance research to make personas. And develop scenario base personas for knowing the needs of users. And then made 4 schemes as the solution. Scheme 1. Customers can get the information and communication with the staff through with media screen in one room of shopping mall. The data of customers can be recorded for providing information or product recommendation personality. Forecast to preferred by group trip or customers that don't like walking around in shopping mall. Scheme 2. Install a media screen at entrance of a store in shopping mall and show special effect to raise customers' attention who walk through from the front of the store. Through with this customers will stay for long time and raise curiosity to get in the store. And the media screen also provide information of store and products. Scheme 3. Customers can get the information of products with using smart phone to scan QR cord in labels of products and record. Customers can finish whole shopping behaviors without the help of store staff. And can make buying decision even have left shopping mall as a online mode. Scheme 4. Store managers can record the products and the environment of store with 360 camera and update to website. Then customers can browse the virtual space with VR glasses. That make customers can have the real shopping experience without being in the store. In this study, have presented schemes of digital media in commercial space. But there are various of commercial space. In this study was presented schemes for shopping mall by searching fashion shopping behaviors of users. And look forward the researches about specific space setting and other type of commercial space for space development.
Objective: The aim of this study is to determine legible Korean font sizes within in-vehicle information systems(IVISs) in diving conditions. Background: Font legibility within IVISs is one of important causes on its' safe operations during driving. Several researches proposed some guidelines on the legible English font sizes within IVISs. On the contrary, appropriate Korean font sizes have been hardly known in spite of the typological differences between English and Korean. Therefore, more systematic researches for improving the legibility on Korean font size within IVISs have been required. Method: In this study, an experiment was performed with the following experimental factors: the existence of vibration, the color contrasts(white on black, black on white), the font types(HDR, CubeR, Gothic), and the font sizes(6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24pt). To fit the experimental conditions into real driving environments, the illuminance was controlled to 15lx by using LED lamp and the distance between IVIS and participants was kept to 70cm. Moreover, all participants took the shutter glasses for employing well-known occlusion techniques. Results: The experimental results showed that 'HDR' and 'Non-vibration + Black on white' group took the shortest response time, and decreasing slopes of the response time with increasing font sizes were slowing down at 14pt then flattened out at 22pt regardless of the existence of vibration and color contrasts. Conclusion: The minimum size for legible Korean font would be about 14pt(5.47mm) and the optimum size would be about 22pt(8.59mm). Application: The guideline on the Korean font sizes from this study will be applied to design an IVIS in the future.
In the present study, the materials, sizes, and designs of blind eye patch products of skin-adhesive type and glass-attachment type currently available in the market will be analyzed and ergonomically appropriate blind eye patches will be developed. Although these skin-adhesive type eye patches were easy to use, they had shortcomings such as skin troubles due to the adhesive used on the weak and sensitive skin of children and the fact that eyebrows are pulled out and the skin is irritated when the eye patches are detached after being attached. The non-adhesive type eye patches were blind patches to be worn by putting into glasses. These products were made using diverse materials such as neoprene, non-woven fabrics, and felt and showed differences in tactile impressions and irritation to the skin depending on material characteristics. In addition, most products were efficient in blocking light with three-dimensional oval designs comprising darts. In the present study, blind eye patches were designed to reduce skin troubles by using sweat-absorbing and quick-drying functional materials with soft tactile impressions. In addition, to increase the effect to block light and the degree of tight contact with the skin when the blind eye patches are worn compared to existing eye patch designs, the sides of the wings of the blind eye patches were widened, glass frame fixing plates were added, and the darts were made to be curved thereby making an ergonomic design reflecting the shape of the face. The non-adhesive type blind eye patches developed in the present study are considered to enhance the wearing sensation with the use of the material without skin irritation but with cushioning feelings and the ergonomic design reflecting the contour of the face.

There are various manufacturing processes for pure $SiO_2$ that is used as abrasives, chemicals, filters, and glasses, and in metallurgy and optical industries. In the optical fiber industry, to produce $SiO_2$ preform, $SiCl_4$ is utilized as a raw material. However, the combustion reaction of $SiCl_4$ has caused critical environmental issues, such as ozone deficiency by chlorine compounds, the greenhouse effect by carbon dioxide and corrosive gas such as hydrochloric acid. Thus, finding an alternative source that does not have those environmental issues is important for the future. Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (OMCTS or D4) as a chlorine free source is recently promising candidate for the $SiO_2$ preform formation. In this study, we first conducted a vaporizer design to vaporize the OMCTS. The vaporizer for the OMCTS vaporization was produced on the basis of the results of the vaporizer design. The size of the primary particle of the $SiO_2$ formed by OMCTS was less than 100 nm. X-ray diffraction patterns of the $SiO_2$ indicated an amorphous phase. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analysis revealed the Si-O-Si bond without the -OH group.
