  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to learn the effects of Musimgigong supine position Doyin-therapy (MGSDT) on the autonomous nervous system (ANS) and musculoskeletal system (MSS), and to know how much MGSDT is useful for relaxing the human body. Methods : Eight oriental medical doctors participated in the experiment, who have trained Musimgigong for 6 years or more. Before and after applying MGSDT, we measured BVP/HR, respiration rate, peripheral temperatures, skin conductance, and EMG, using Procomp Infinity and Biograph Infinity of Thought Technology Ltd Results and Conclusions : 1. After the treatment, the participants in MGSDT group reported that they felt refreshed and relaxed. 2 By analyzing the measured data, we observed significant difference in respiration rate(p=.026<.05) and SC(p=.013<.05) before and after applying MGSDT. We also observed relaxing effect in BVP/HR, EMG, but was not significant. On the other hand Temp was stressed but was not significant. Conclusion is that MGSDT can be considered to have an effect on relaxing ANS. Therefore MGSDT could have useful clinical effect to autonomic imbalance.

  • Objects : the relationship between the body changes in microgravity and Su-Seung-Hwa-Gang(body water rising and heat falling) in Korean medicine. Methods : research of papers about the body changes in microgravity and Su-Seung-Hwa-Gang in Korean medicine. Conclusions : In microgravity, there are changes in cardiovascular system and sympathetic nerve system(SNS). A change in the SNS during simulated microgravity could induce several physiological changes. It is associated with Su-Seung-Hwa-Gang in Korean medicine.

  • The social demand of manipulative therapy has increased. but the concept, terminology, classification and system of manipulative therapy is unclear. Therefore, academic organization on manipulative therapy is needed. The aim of this study is overview the evolution of manipulative therapy and based on this, we will find out how manipulative therapy is studied in South Korea. Manipulative therapy reflects medical knowledge and trends at the time. Historically people who work as key roles in evolution of manupulative therapy are Hippocrates, Claudius Galen, Acicenna(Ibn Sīnā), Ambroise Paré, Andreas Vesalius, Pehr Henrik Ling, Florence Nightingale, Andrew Taylor Still, Daniel David Palmer, James Beaver Mennell, James Henry Cyriax, Robin Mckenzie, Freddy Kaltenborn, Brian R Mulligan, George Goodheart, Mikao Usui, Wilhelm Reich, Ida Rolf. As the result of articles search, Massage, Chiropractics, acupressure(acupuncture), Chuna, osteopathy, reflexology, CST, Mulligan techniques, Dongbang whalbub, Kaltenborn-Evjenth orthopedic manual therapy are major subject that studied in South Korea.

  • To investigate anti-stress effects of Manual Kigong, Manual-Apparatus Combined Kikong, and Systemic Kigong, this experiments were performed changing of plasma catecholaminess and serum cortisol measured. Also using D.I.T.I(Digital Infrared Thermongraphy Imaging), Pulse Analyzer, Electric Current on Neurometer, and Digital Flicker on Testing-Stressed. And following results were abtained. 1) Menual-Appartus Combined Kikong decreased significantly increasing concentration of plasma epinephrine and norepinephrine level in Testing-stressed. 2) Manual Kigong decreased increasing concentration of serum cortisol level in Testing-stressed. 3) Manual Kigong and Manual-Aparatues Combined Kikong increased decreasing thermomerty on the palm's center caused Testing-stressed. 4) All of three treats are small change in SET(Systolic Ejection Time) by Pulse Analyzer caused Testing-stressed. 5) More changes of Electric Current on the Neurometer Diagnosis caused Testing-stressed are as followed. Manual-Apparatus Combined Kikong >Systemic Kigong >Manual Kigong From the results, it may be concluded that Manual-Apparatus Combined Kikong Theraphy having more anti-stress effects than Manual Theraphy. Systemic Kigong Therapy.

  • Background: The consequences of disordered breathing patterns are not only distressing to the patient but also expensive to our health care systems if they are not diagnosed and treated. So we performed this study to investigate clinical significants trough gigong, yoga and hyperventilation in oriental medicine and westen medicine Objective: To review the relationship of electrogastrography with autonomic nervous system and to study its clinical application. Method: We investigate the research results through internet search engine, Pubmed. Conclusion: Electrogastrography is a reliable, non-invasive method for recording gastric myoelectrical activity and is used for objectification of diagnosis related to gastric peristalsis. Gastric myoelectrical activity seem to involve autonomic nervous system, especially parasympathetic nervous system. The study should be continuing about relationship between electrogastrography and autonomic nervous system.
