마이크로웨이브를 이용한 Dieless Wire Drawing 에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Dieless Wire Drawing Using Microwave)

  • Micron-sized metal wires are widely used in industries such as filtration, catalyst and composite materials, etc. In the wire drawing process, the die that is used conventionally is an effective and, at the same time, sensitive component. However, a typical array of the dies has caused many problems in the wire drawing process, e.g., large frictional force on the interface between wire and the resulting high heat generation, precise adjustment of the dies, extended cooling system, die abrasion, etc.. Because of these problems, there have been many works that are aiming at improving the efficiency of wire drawing process by analyzing the die geometry and by applying advanced die material to prolong the die life or even at developing a dieless wire drawing system. This paper is dealing with developing a new wire drawing system that is applicable to reduce the wire drawing steps with high draw ratio. The new wire drawing system does not use the dies, but use the self-induced heater that works on the basis of the resonant phenomenon of wire material. The electromagnetic wave is the heating source. The results of the study on the diameter reduction and microwave flow analysis show that the heating effectiveness of the wire is influenced by the energy distribution in the microwave propagation chamber. We can obtain diameter-reduced wires by using microwave in the dieless drawing process. Microwave as a heating source is capable of producing wires without applying dies in wire drawing process.

  • Geo-features play a key role in object-oriented or feature-based geo-processing system. So the strategy for how-to-model and how-to-manage the geo-features builds the main architecture of the entire system and also supports the efficiency and functionality of the system. Unlike the conventional 2D geo-processing system, geo-features in 3B GIS have lots to be considered to model regarding the efficient manipulation and analysis and visualization. When the system is running on the Web, it should also be considered that how to leverage the level of detail and the level of automation of modeling in addition to the support for client side data interoperability. We built a set of 3D geo-features, and each geo-feature contains a set of aspatial data and 3D geo-primitives. The 3D geo-primitives contain the fundamental modeling data such as the height of building and the burial depth of gas pipeline. We separated the additional modeling data on the geometry and appearance of the model from the fundamental modeling data to make the table in database more concise and to allow the users more freedom to represent the geo-object. To get the users to build and exchange their own data, we devised a file format called VGFF 2.0 which stands for Virtual GIS File Format. It is to describe the three dimensional geo-information in XML(eXtensible Markup Language). The DTD(Document Type Definition) of VGFF 2.0 is parsed using the DOM(Document Object Model). We also developed the authoring tools for. users can make their own 3D geo-features and model and save the data to VGFF 2.0 format. We are now expecting the VGFF 2.0 evolve to the 3D version of SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) especially for 3D GIS on the Web.

적용환경을 고려한 Flextensional 변환기의 최적구조 설계 (Optimal Structural Design of a Flextensional Transducer Considering the Working Environment)

  • The performance of an acoustic transducer is determined by the effects of many design variables, and mostly the influences of these design variables are not linearly independent of each other. To achieve the optimal performance of an acoustic transducer, we must consider the cross-coupled effects of the design variables. In this study, the variation of the performances of underwater acoustic transducer in relation to its structural variables was analyzed. In addition, the new optimal design scheme of an acoustic transducer that could reflect not only individual but also all the cross-coupled effects of multiple structural variables, and could determine the detailed geometry of the transducer with great efficiency and rapidity was developed. The validation of the new optimal design scheme was verified by applying the optimal structure design of a flextensional transducer which are the most common use for high power underwater acoustic transducer. With the finite element analysis(FEA), we analyzed the variation of the resonance frequency, sound pressure, and working depth of a flextensional transducer in relation to its design variables. Through statistical multiple regression analysis of the results, we derived functional forms of the resonance frequency, sound pressure, and working depth in terms of the design variables. By applying the constrained optimization technique, Sequential Quadratic Programming Method of Phenichny and Danilin(SQP-PD), to the derived function, we designed and verified the optimal structure of the Class IV flextensional transducer that could provide the highest sound pressure level and highest working depth at a given operation frequency of 1 kHz.

ETC를 적용한 저압 EGR시스템의 엔진성능 및 배출가스 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Engine Performance and Emission Characteristics in a LP EGR System with Electronic Throttle Control)

  • 최근 디젤엔진에서 엔진성능향상 및 배출가스저감을 위해 저압 EGR시스템에 대하여 연구개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 저압 EGR시스템은 EGR율에 따라 과급압력이 영향을 받지 않기 때문에 PM을 최소 화하면서 $NO_x$를 저감할 수 있는 장점을 갖고 있다. 본 연구에서는 2.0L급 고속직분사방식의 엔진에서 출력 및 연비저하로 EGR적용이 어려운 엔진회전수 2000 rpm, BMEP 1.0 MPa, 과급압력 181.3 kPa인 중부하 운전영역에서 서로 다른 EGR시스템에 따른 엔진성능 및 배출가스 특성을 실험적으로 연구하였다. 그 결과로서 기존의 고압 EGR시스템 또는 배압조절밸브를 사용하는 저압 EGR시스템에 비하여 ETC를 적용한 저압 EGR시스템이 $NO_x$ 배출특성은 큰 차이가 없는 반면에, 연비 및 열효율이 향상되고 PM 저감에 연소효과를 나타내고 있음을 확인하였다.

앵커의 극한 지지력 변화와 파괴 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Variation of Ultimate Pullout Resistance and Failure Behavior for Vertical Plate Anchors in Sands)

  • Model tests for the ultimate pullout resistance of anchorages and investigation of failure behaviors in cohesionless soil have been conducted. The factors affecting the anchorage are mostly the geometry of the system, and soil properties of sands. The main conclusions of the experimental work were as follows. 1. The load - displacement relationship can be a form of parabolic curve for all plates. 2. The change in ultimate pullout resistance of anchor is mostly affected by embedment ratio and size of anchor, and influenced to a lesser degree by its shape. 3. Critical embedment ratio which is defined as the failure mode changes from shallow to deep mode is increased with increasing height of anchor. 4. For a constant anchor height, as the width of anchor increases the ultimate pullout resistance also increases. However, considering the efficiency of anchor for unit area, width of anchor does not appear to have any sigrnificant contribution on increasing anchor city. 5. Anchor capacity has a linear relation to sand density for any given section and the rate of change increases as the section increases. Critical depth determining the failure patterns of anchor is decreased with a decrease of sand density. 6. With increasing inclination angle, size of anchor, and decreasing embedment ratio, the ultimate pullout resistance of anchor under inclined loading is significantly decreased. 7. The ultimate pullout resistance of double anchor, a method of improving single of anchor capacity, is influenced by the center - to - center spacing adjacent anchors. It is also found that tandem and parallel anchor rigging arrangements decrease the anchor system capacity to less than twice the single anchor capacity due to anchor interference.

초등학교 1.2학년 스토리텔링 기반 수학교과서 적용을 통한 교사의 인식 변화 (Changes in the In-Service Teachers' Perception after Applying Mathematics Textbook Based on Storytelling for Elementary First and Second Grades)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 초등학교 1학년과 2학년 수학교육에 스토리텔링을 기반으로 한 수학교과서가 적용된 지 한 학기가 지난 시점에서 스토리텔링 수학 교수 학습에 대한 초등학교 1 2학년 교사의 인식 변화를 조사함으로써 향후 스토리텔링 수학 교수 학습을 지원하기 위한 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 2013년 3월에 스토리텔링 수학 교수 학습에 대한 인식 조사에 참여한 초등학교 1 2학년 담당 교사 30명을 대상으로 같은 해 7월에 설문조사를 실시하고, 이들 중 4명의 교사를 대상으로 면담을 진행하였다. 분석 결과, 초등학교 1 2학년 스토리텔링 수학 교수 학습의 적절성과 효율성에 대한 인식 변화에 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 스토리텔링 수학 교수 학습이 가장 적합한 영역을 측정 영역으로, 가장 부적합한 영역을 도형 영역으로 인식하였고, 실생활 연계형을 효과적인 스토리텔링 유형으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다.

유한요소법을 이용한 Tonpilz 트랜스듀서의 최적구조 설계 (Optimal Structural Design of a Tonpilz Transducer by Means of the Finite Element Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 대표적인 수중 음향 트랜스듀서인 Tonpilz 트랜스듀서에 대하여 설계변수들이 트랜스듀서 성능에 미치는 영향을 유한요소 해석을 통하여 파악하였다. 나아가 그 결과들의 통계적 다중 회귀분석을 통하여 응력 강화 (Stress stiffening) 효과를 고려한 공진 주파수, 대역폭 및 발생 음압을 이들 설계변수들의 함수로 도출한 후, 제한 최적화법인 SQP-PD 방법을 이용해 공진 주파수 30,000 Hz 와 -3dB 대역폭 10% 이상을 가지며 최대 음압을 구현할 수 있는 트랜스듀서의 최적구조를 결정하였다. 또한 SQP-PD 방법에 의한 최적값을 유한요소 해석에 의한 값과 비교함으로써 최적값의 타당성을 검증하였고, 본 연구에서 제시한 설계법이 계산시간의 단축과 높은 정확성을 가짐을 확인하였다.

수치해석을 이용한 담수장치용 이젝터의 노즐위치 변화에 따른 이젝터 유동특성 연구 (CFD Analysis on the Flow Characteristics of Ejector According to the Position Changes of Driving Nozzle for F.W.G)

  • In this study, the ejector design was modeled using Fluent 6.3 of FVM(Finite Volume Method) CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) techniques to resolve the flow dynamics in the ejector. A vacuum system with the ejector has been widely used because of its simple construction and easy maintenance. Ejector is the main part of the desalination system, of which designs determine the efficiency of system. The effects of the ejector was investigated geometry and the operating conditions in the hydraulic characteristics. The ejector consists mainly of a nozzle, suction chamber, mixing tube (throat), diffuser and draft tube. Liquid is supplied to the ejector nozzle, the fast liquid jet produced by the nozzle entrains and the non condensable gas was sucked into the mixing tube. The multiphase CFD modeling was carried out to determine the hydrodynamic characteristics of seawater-air ejector. Condition of the simulation was varied in entrance mass flow rate (1kg/s, 1.5kg/s, 2kg/s, 2.5kg/s, 3kg/s), and position of driving nozzle was located from the central axis of the suction at -10mm, 0mm, 10mm, 20mm, 30mm.. Asaresult, suction flow velocity has the highest value in central axis of the suction.

$LiNbO_3$ 기판의 도메인 반전 특성과 이를 이용한 기능성 광변조기의 제작 (Characteristic of $LiNbO_3$ Domain Inversion and Fabrication of Electrooptic Device Application using Domain Reversal)

  • 본 논문에서는 $LiNbO_3$의 선택적 영역을 도메인 반전을 수행하였으며, 이를 대역변조기 및 SSB 광변조기 제작에 응용하였다. 인가전압에 대한 회로적인 응답전류를 분석 및 고려함으로써 도메인 벽의 이동속도를 정확히 제어할 수 있었다. 과도한 도메인의 벽 이동속도에 의한 도메인 반전 형상을 확인하였고, 또한 도메인 벽의 진행방향에 따라 그 속도의 차이가 발생함을 알 수 있었다. 제작된 대역변조기는 30.3 GHz를 중심주파수로 하여 5.1GHz의 3dB 대역폭을 보였고. SSB 광변조기의 변조 스펙트럼으로부터 19dBm의 5.8GHz RF 입력신호에 대해 USB가 LSB에 비해 33dB정도 억제됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

복합각도 요철을 가지는 사각 덕트 내의 열전달 및 압력강하 특성 (Characteristics of Heat/Mass Transfer and Pressure Drop in a Square Duct with Compound-Angled Rib Turbulaters)

  • The present study investigates convective heat/mass transfer and flow characteristics inside the cooling passage of the gas-turbine blades. It is important to increase not only the heat transfer rates but also the uniformity of heat transfer in the cooling passage. The square duct has compound-angled ribs with $60^{\circ},\;70^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$ attack angles, which are installed on the test plate surfaces. a naphthalene sublimation technique is employed to determine the detailed local heat transfer coefficients using the heat and mass transfer analogy. The ribs disturb the main flow resulting in the recirculation and secondary flows near the ribbed wall and the vertices near the side-wall. The local heat transfer and the secondary flow in the duct are changed largely according to the rib orientation. Therefore, geometry and arrangement of the ribs are important fur the advantageous cooling performance. The angled ribs increase the heat transfer discrepancy between the wall and center regions because of the interaction of the secondary flows. The average heat/mass transfer coefficient and pressure drop of the ribs with the $60^{\circ}$ $-90^{\circ}$ compound-angle are higher than those with the $60^{\circ}$ attack angle. Also, the thermal efficiency of the compound-angled rib is higher than that with the $60^{\circ}$ attack angle. The uniformity of heat/mass transfer coefficient on the cross ribs may is higher than that on the parallel ribs array.
