대수층 지질 및 온도에 따른 국내 지하수의 지구화학적 특징 -화강암질암내 지하수와의 비교연구 (Geochemical Characteristics of Groundwater in Korea with Different Aquifer Geology and Temperature -Comparative Study with Granitic Groundwater)

  • 국내 화강암질암내 지하수와의 대수층 지질 및 온도에 따른 지구화학적 특징 차이를 살펴보기 위하여 변성퇴적암류내 지하수와 온천수를 택하였다. 변성퇴적암류를 대수층으로 하는 지하수 내의 $Na^+$ 함량은 화강암질암에 비하여 통계적으로 낮다. 또한 화강암질암의 지하수와는 달리 변성퇴적암류의 지하수는 심부에서도 방해석의 거동에 의해 지하수의 화학조성이 조절됨으로써 $Ca^{2+]$-${HCO_3}^-$ 유형에 속한다. 이는 변성퇴적암류의 대수층 암석에 사장석의 함유량이 극히 적은 것에 기인한다. 요인분석 결과, 변성퇴적암류의100~300 m 심도의 지하수는 1) 방해석 및 Mg-탄산염암의 용해, 2) 백운모의 용해에 의하여 kaolinite가 illite로 전환되는 반응, 3) 지표에서 유입된 형태로 존재하는 $Na^+$ 등의 세 가지 요인으로 압축된다. 화강암질암과 변성퇴적암류에 대하여 도출된 판별함수는 약 81.8%의 판별력을 보였으며 이 판별식에 사장석이 주구성광물로 존재하는 화산암질 지하수를 적용한 결과 모두 화강암질암 그룹에 속하였다. 한편 온천수는 상대적으로 심도가 낮음에도 불구하고 화강암질암의 심부지하수와 유사한 화학적 특징을 보임으로써 고온으로 인해 주변 광물과의 반응이 활성화되었음을 나타낸다.

한국의 지열 연구와 개발 (Geothermal Research and Development in Korea)

  • 1920년대의 온천조사에서부터 현재에 이르기까지 우리나라 지열연구의 역사를 간략히 요약하고, 우리나라의 지열류량 연구 결과 및 추세, 지열의 근원 연구, 그리고 지열에너지 개발 및 활용분야에 대한 연구활동을 정리하였다. 우리나라에서의 지열연구는 1970년대까지 주로 온천조사와 관련되어 있다. 1980년대에 들어서 연구소와 학계에서 온천조사 뿐만 아니라, 지열류량에 대한 연구도 많이 수행하게 되었으며 1996년도에는 우리나라 전국적인 지온경사 분포도와 지열류량 분포도를 발간하게 되었다. 또한 우리나라 온천수에 대한 지화학적 동위원소 분석과 화강암 지대의 열생산율 측정도 1990년대에 주로 이루어졌다. 지열개발과 활용에 대한 시도는 1990년대 초반부터 시도되었으나 실제 개발을 위한 시추로 이어지게 된 것은 2000년대에 들어와서 가능해졌다. 최근의 활발한 심부 지열수 자원 개발이나 천부 지중열을 활용한 냉난방 수요의 증가 등 주변여건이 호전됨에 따라 우리나라 지열연구개발의 전망은 밝다고 판단된다.

금산지역 형석광화작용과 관련된 화강암질암의 지구화학적 자료 해석 (Geochemical Data Analysis of the Granitic Rocks Potentially Related to Fluorite Mineralization in the Geumsan District)

  • About forty ore deposits of $CaF_2{\pm}Au{\pm}Ag{\pm}Cu{\pm}Pb{\pm}Zn$ are widely distributed in the Geumsan district and are believed to be genetically related to the Mesozoic Geumsan granitic rocks. Based on their petrogeochemistry and isotopic dating data, the granitic rocks in this district can be classified into two groups ; the Jurassic granitic rocks(equigranular leucocratic granite, porphyritic biotite granite, porphyritic pink-feldspar granite, seriate leucocratic granite) and the Cretaceous granitic rocks(seriate pink-feldspar granite, equigranular alkali-feldspar granite, equigranular pink-feldspar granite, miarolitic pink-feldspar granite, equigranular biotite granite). Spatial distribution of fluorite ore deposits, fluorine contents of granitic rocks and fracture patterns in this district suggest that three granitic rocks(equigranular biotite granite, equigranular pink-feldspar granite, miarolitic pink-feldspar granite) of the Cretaceous period be genetically related to the fluorite mineralization. In these fluorite-related granitic rocks, fluorine is most highly correlated with Cs(correlation coefficient(r)>0.9), and also highly with MnO, U, Sm, Yb, Lu, Zn, Y, Li(r>0.7). Statistically the variation of fluorine in the fluorite-related granitic rocks can be explained in terros of only three elements, such as Lu, CaO and Cs, and the fluorite-related granitic rocks can be discriminated from the fluorite-nonrelated granitic rocks by a linear functional equation of La, Ce, Cs and F($Z_{Ust}=-1.38341-0.00231F-0.19878Ce+0.38169La+0.54720Cs$). Also, equigranular alkali-feldspar granite is classified into the fluorite-related granitic rocks by means of the linear functional equation($Z_{Ust}$).

다덕광산 주변 토양에서의 금속 및 시안의 분포와 산성침출수 생성 (Distiribution of Metals and Cyanide in Soils and Acid leachate Occurrence around the Daduck mine)

  • 경북 봉화군에 소재한 폐광산인 다덕광산 광미장 및 인근 농경지를 대상으로 금속성분 및 시안의 분포특성과 광미장을 통과하여 방류하는 산성침출수의 생성원인을 파악하였다. 토양오염 공정 시험법에 의한 분석자료에 의하면 광미장 주변의 논 및 밭에서 As이 농경지 토양오염대책 기준인 15mg/kg을 초과하여 광미의 유입에 의해 토양이 오염되는 것으로 나타났다. 광미중에는 As, Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn 및 5 등이 매우 높게 함유된 것으로 나타났고 특히 산화가 진행된 광미장 지표면 부근의 광미에는 이러한 성분들이 용탈되어 산성침출수가 농수로 방류되고 있다. 따라서 토양오염 및 농수로의 오염의 확산 방지를 위해서는 광산주변에 산재하고 있는 광미 및 광미장에 대한환경오염방지 대책이 필요하다고 판단된다.

진해만 퇴적물의 퇴적속도와 중금속 오염 (Pollution of Heavy Metals and Sedimentation Rates in Sediment Cores from the Chinhae Bay, Korea)

  • In the Chinhae Bay, Korea, sedimentation rates and sedimentary record of anthropogenic metal loads were determined by $^{210}Pb$ dating and heavy metal analysis of four sediment cores . The sedimentation rates varied from 0.16g/$cm^2$/yr(3.1mm/yr) at Sta. Ct, located within narrow waterway to 0.24g/$cm^2$/yr(4.8mm/yr) at Sta. Cl, located in Haengam Bay. Maximum contents of Mn, Zn, Cu and Cr were observed at Sta. C2 located near the mouth of Masan Bay, while minimum contents were observed at Sta. CB. Mn/Fe ratios at Sta. C2 and Sta. C4 showed gradually increasing and decreasing downward, respectively, in the upper layer of sediment cores. This suggests that Mn may be diagenetically redistributed in highly reduced environment. At Sta. C2, the concentrations of Zn and Cu began to increase from 1920s by anthropogenic input and have been remarkablely increasing since mid 1960s. At Sta. C3, located near Sungpo, anthropogenic input of these two elements has also slightly increased after 1970s. However, pollution of these two elements was not significant in Haengam Bay(Sta. Cl) and Chiljun watenway(Sta. C4). The pollution of Co, Ni and Cr was not remarkable in all core samples except surface sediment of Sta. C2. The total input of anthropogenic Zn and Cu since 1920s was estimated to be 28∼792 ㎍/cm2 and 0∼168㎍/cm2, respectively. Sta. C2 showed remarkablely higher values relative to other stations: anthropogenic loads of Zn and Cu constituted 27% and 29% of the total sedimentary inventories at the present day, respectively. Fe, Ni, Cr and Co contents showed good correlation(r>0.8) with each other. Anthropogenic Zn and Cu also showed a very good positive correlation(>0.9). However, correlation between these two group of element was quite scattered, indicating different sources and geochemical behaviors.

부산 해운대지역 지하수와 지열수의 수리화학적 특성 (Hydrochemical characteristics of ground and geothermal waters in the Haeundae hot-spring area, Pusan, Korea)

  • Twenty-two water samples(fifteen groundwater and seven geothermal water samples) were collected to elucidate chemical characteristics of the ground and geothermal waters in the Haeundae hot spring area and its vicinity. Major and honor elements were analyzed for ground and geothermal water samples. The concentrations of $K^+$, Na+$, $Ca^{2+}$, $SO_4^{2-}$, $Cl^-$, ^F^-$ and $SiO_2$ were higher in the geothermal water samples than the groundwater samples except $HCO_3^- and Mg^{2+}$ ions. Based on the contents of Fe, Zn, Cu, Al, Mn and Pb, some of the ground and geothermal water samples are contaminated by anthropogenic sources. The ground waters shown on the Piper diagram belong to $Ca-HCO_3$ type, while the geothermal waters Na-Cl type. The graphs of $Cl^-$ versus $Na^+$, $Ca^{2+}, Mg^{2+}, K^+, SO_4^{2-} and HCO_3^-$ indicate that the groundwater is related partly with mineral-water reaction and partly with anthropogenic contamination, while the geothermal water is related with saline water. On the phase stability diagram, groundwater and thermal water mostly fall in the field of stability of kaolinite. This indicates that the ground and geothermal waters proceed with forming kaolinite. Factor and correlation analyses were carried out to simplify the physicochemical data into grouping some factors and to find interaction between them. Based on the Na-K, Na-K-Ca and Na-K-Ca-Mg geothermometers and silica geothermometers, the geothermal reservoir is estimated to have equilibrium temperature between 125${$\mid$circ}C$ and 160${$\mid$circ}C$.

가막만의 빈산소 퇴적층 형성과 저서성 유공충 군집변화 연구 (The Formation of Hypoxia Sediment and Benthic Foraminiferal Change in Gamak Bay, Southern Coast of Korea)

  • In order to understand the relationship between the formation of hypoxia sediment by eutrophication and changes in benthic foraminiferal assemblage, micropaleontological and geochemical analyses were carried out on one sediment box core (K-1) recovered in the northern Gamak Bay, which is one of the aquacultural areas in the South Sea of Korea. In this analysis, the PON content in the sediment rapidly increased, while the C/N ratio and the C/S ratio decreased since 1977. These results indicate that eutrophication commenced in 1977 in the northern Gamak Bay, and consequently, the hypoxia sediment is 20 cm thick. Ammonia beccarii-Buccella frigida assemblage occurs before the formation of hypoxia sediment. Trochammina hadai-Buccella frigida assemblage appeared in the transitional period toward hypoxia and Trochammina hadai assemblage with a low abundance and diversity is observed in the hypoxia sediment. The agglutinated species T. hadai is regarded as a bio-indicator (opportunistic species) of the organic pollution in northern Gamak Bay.

열수 플룸 검출을 위한 CTD Cast와 CTD Tow-yo 방법 비교 (Comparison of CTD Cast and CTD Tow-yo Methods for Detecting Hydrothermal Plume)

  • Directly searching for undiscovered hydrothermal vent sites is inefficient due to the practical difficulty of comprehensively imaging vent fields. Thus, most searches for hydrothermal vent sites rely on the detection of hydrothermal plumes from water column observation. Detecting and measuring the hydrothermal plumes are the most efficient way to infer the presence and distribution of hydrothermal vents. Both the array of vertical casting and lateral towing are the most common methods to discover hydrothermal plumes. In this study, we compared results of cast and tow-yo operations along the same section of a spreading center with a distance of 20.5 km in the North Fiji Basin for mapping hydrothermal plumes. Operation of CTD tow-yo provides a detailed pattern of plumes which enable us to locate the hydrothermal vents. On the other hand, identification of hydrothermal activity can be determined effectively by CTD cast with additional analysis of geochemical tracers. Reduction in the operating time is another advantage of CTD cast operation, especially for regional-scale survey. Our results show that the combination of CTD cast and tow-yo would improve the efficiency of the hydrothermal plume survey to locate new hydrothermal vent sites.

천안 운전리 청동기 유적지에서 출토된 석기의 정량분석과 고고지질학적 해석 (Quantitative Analysis and Archaeogeological Interpretation of Stone Implements from the Unjeonri Bronze Age Relic Site)

  • 천안 운전리의 청동기 유적지에서 출토된 석기 및 유적지 주변에 분포는 석기와 동일한 암석의 대자율 값은 보통 $0.5(\times10^{-3}\;SI\;unit)$ 이하이나, 섬장암질 석부(2.37), 편암질 석부(0.19) 및 점판암질 석도(0.11)는 노두의 암석과 차이가 있다. 이들을 석기와 근원암석으로 짝을 이루어 원소의 거동과 부화 및 호정성과 불호정성을 이용하여 표준화 하였을때 석기와 암석의 지구화학적 진화경향이 동일한 것으로 보아, 대부분의 석기는 유적지 주변에 분포하는 암석을 원료로 제작하였을 가능성이 상당히 높다. 그러나 일부 석부(편암), 석도(점판암) 및 석촉(셰일)의 구성암석은 운전리 유적지 및 반경 10 km 이내에서 전형적인 산출상태와 분포지역을 확인할 수 없었다. 따라서 운전리 일대의 석기는 현지에서 재료를 구하고 현장에서 제작한 자급형 석기(갈판, 갈돌, 석부)와 다른 지역에서 도입된 외래형 석기(석도, 석촉 및 석부)가 공존하고 있는 것으로 해석된다.
