  • In this paper, we introduce the notion of generating index ${\mathcal{I}}_1(A)$ (2-generating index ${\mathcal{I}}_2(A)$, resp.) of a left-symmetric algebra A, which is the maximum of the dimensions of the subalgebras generated by any element (any two elements, resp.). We give a classification of left-symmetric algebras with ${\mathcal{I}}_1(A)=1$ and ${\mathcal{I}}_2(A)=2$, 3 resp., and show that all such algebras can be constructed by linear and bilinear functions. Such algebras can be regarded as a generalization of those relating to the integrable (generalized) Burgers equation.

  • In variable speed wind power generating system connected in power grid, how to capture the maximum wind energy is most important thing Using the doubly fed induction machine as a generator in wind power generating system, it is possible to control the bidirectional slip power between grid and rotor side. This means that we can control the generating power under subsynchronous speed. To verify the theoretical analysis, computer simulation results using Psim program are presented to support the discussion.

  • A resonant type voltage source and power device and a control method using Pulse Density Modulation(PDM) power control and Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) voltage control for Ozone Generator are described. For the stability of discharge in the generating tube, it is desirable that the peak apply voltage is constant. The PDM power control is employed for sustaining the voltage constant at any generating tube input power. Moreover, to avoid the influence of input AC voltage fluctuation etc., PWM voltage control with generating tube peak voltage feedback is used. Both functions were confirmed by the experiment with 6.5[kHz], 1.8[kW] inverter and generating tube. The effect of input synchronous PDM method for input current stabilizing is confirmed also.

  • A dynamic model of reducer for generating facility of electric pourer having bevel gear pair and planetary gear train is developed by lumped method. The model accounts for the shaft and bearing flexibilities, gyroscopic effects and the force couplings among the transverse and torsion motions due to gearing. Vibration/noise analysis as well as strength of bevel gear pair and planetary gear train are considered. Exciting forces of high reducer for generating facility of electric power areconsidered as the mass unbalance of the rotors, misalignment and a function of gear transmission error. A Campbell diagram, in which the excitation sources caused by the mass unbalance of the rotors, misalignment and the transmitted errors of the gearing are considered, shows that, at the operating speed, there are not critical speed.

  • Concern for new and renewable energy is growing globally. Biogas is one of the alternative fuels and consists of methane and carbon dioxide. It is difficult to achieve efficient engine operation due to a lower heating value of biogas compared to that of natural gas. In order to improve generating efficiency, finding an optimum point of ignition timing and excess air ratio is important. From this fact, generating efficiency and pollutant emissions of 2300cc gas engine generator operated by biogas as functions of ignition timings and excess air ratios were investigated in this study. As a test result, the generating efficiency of the gas engine generator using biogas was 27.34 % in the condition of the BTDC of $16^{\circ}$ and the excess air ratio of 1.4.

  • In this paper, we propose a Transformation-Based Learning (TBL) method on generating the Korean standard pronunciation. Previous studies on the phonological processing have been focused on the phonological rule applications and the finite state automata (Johnson 1984; Kaplan and Kay 1994; Koskenniemi 1983; Bird 1995). In case of Korean computational phonology, some former researches have approached the phonological rule based pronunciation generation system (Lee et al. 2005; Lee 1998). This study suggests a corpus-based and data-oriented rule learning method on generating Korean standard pronunciation. In order to substituting rule-based generation with corpus-based one, an aligned corpus between an input and its pronunciation counterpart has been devised. We conducted an experiment on generating the standard pronunciation with the TBL algorithm, based on this aligned corpus.

  • Currently, large size shipyards have performed the generating of piece and the nesting using shipbuilding-oriented CAD program, which requires high skilled operator and costs a lot. So, medium and small size shipyards have pursued other way to obtain the generating and the nesting due to an economic and a technical problems. Therefore, this research is to develop a program for the generating of pieces with parametric macro method and a STRIP program for the nesting of pieces by PC.

  • The release of polluting gases such as NO/sub x/ of SO/sub x/ to the atmosphere from ships is causing increasing concern. To reduce destruction to the marine environment, the value of the utilization of photovoltaic energy is highly appreciated since photovoltaic energy is and alternate clean energy source to fossil fuels. The use of a photovoltaic generating system to supplement diesel engine driven electric power system on ships has been studied. The design of the photovoltaic generating system based on a photovoltaic array is presented in this paper. The amount of NO/sub x/ and SO/sub x/ emission is found to be significantly reduced for a small vessel operated within a harbour after a photovoltaic generating system is installed to supplement the diesel engine generator system.

  • The physical model considered here is a horizontal layer of fluid heated below and cooldabove with a heat-generating conducting body placed at the center of the layer. The body genrates a constant amount of heat as initial condition. Two-dimensional solution for unsteady natural convection is obtained using an accurate and efficient Chebyshev spectral methodology for various of Rayleigh number from $10^3$ to $10^6$. Multi-domain Technique is used to handle heat-generating conducting body. The results for the case of heat-generating body are also compared to those of adaibatic body.

  • Plate-fin type recuperators for the gas turbine/fuel cell hybrid power generating system were designed using commercial design software, MUSE. Heat transfer efficiency and total pressure drop in the recuperator were calculated to confirm required recuperator performance. Both counter flow and cross flow type plate-fin recuperators were designed. Results show that the counter flow type has higher efficiency and short core length, but the cross flow type is simpler to construct because the cross flow type does not need additional distributors. Two or three headers for the each recuperator core will be designed and tested to evaluate best header design. The designed recuperators and headers which will be designed later will be constructed, tested, and used in gas turbine/fuel cell hybrid power generating system.
