  • Lee and Lim (2009) state three characterizations of Loamax, exponential and power function distributions, the proofs of which, are based on the solutions of certain second order non-linear differential equations. For these characterizations, they make the following statement : "Therefore there exists a unique solution of the differential equation that satisfies the given initial conditions". Although the general solution of their first differential equation is easily obtainable, they do not obtain the general solutions of the other two differential equations to ensure their claim via initial conditions. In this very short report, we present the general solutions of these equations and show that the particular solutions satisfying the initial conditions are uniquely determined to be Lomax, exponential and power function distributions respectively.

  • The general mutual impedance expression for two staggered parallel, centerfed, linear antennas of unequal length and confirmed that the general expression being applied to a special case, reduced to the equation presented by other. Furthermore, calculation is done for a special cast, and it is confirmed that the general mutual impedance expression is applicable to the calculation of radiative curreut distribution on antenna system given above.

  • The solution of the normal equation arising in a general linear model by the least square methods is not unique in general. Conventionally, SAS IML and G-inverse matrices are considered for such problems. In this paper, we provide a systematic solution procedures for SAS IML.

  • In general, pseudo noise generator(PNG) used for PLR System consists of linear feedback shift register. Based on a W.F. representation of shift registers, a method for analyzing operational characters & sequence of PNG are studied. PNG is characterized by the time-recursive equation & PNG sequence is analyzed by the output state variable equation. Methods studied in this paper are illustrated by appropriate example.

  • By using general means, some oscillation criteria for second order nonlinear elliptic differential equation with damping $$\sum_{i,j=1}^{N}D_i[a_{ij}(x)D_iy]+\sum_{i=1}^{N}b_i(x)D_iy+p(x)f(y)=0$$ are obtained. These criteria are of a high degree of generality and extend the oscillation theorems for second order linear ordinary differential equations due to Kamenev, Philos and Wong.

  • Rate constants and activation parameters have been petermined for the chloride exchanges of benzyl chloride in 60, 70, 80 and 90 vol.% ethanol-water solutions. Results showed a good linearity when appiled to our general equation. The significance of this linear fit has been discussed in conjunction with the Dewar's relation which was derived from the PMO method.

  • Basicities of nine dimethylanilines have been determined in 50, 70, and 90 volume % ethanol, at $25^{\circ},\;30^{\circ},\;35^{\circ},\;and\;40^{\circ}C$. Temperature coefficients were found to be independent of solvent composition, while they showed a linear correlation with basicities of the compounds. Thermodynamic parameters obtained have been used in the discussion of substituent and solvent effects in conjunction with the general equation derived in the preceding papers.

  • Inter-relationship between the Hammett equation and the linear enthalpy-entropy effect has been discussed by deriving a new set of equations; ${\Delta}{\Delata}H^{\neq}=a{\sigma}+b{\Delta}{\Delta}S^{\neq}$ and ${\Delta}{\Delta}F^{\neq}=a{sigma}+(b-T){\Delta}{\Delta}S^{\neq}$ where a = -1.36p. Theoretical analysis show that the Hammett, Leffler and Brown equations are special limited forms of these general equations. A necessary and sufficient test of substituent effect can thus be provided by the plot of $({\Delta}{\Delta}H^{\neq}-a{\sigma)$ versus ${\Delta}{\Delta}S^{\neq}$.
