Esophageal cancer (EC) incidence rates in Kazakhstan were assessed by component analysis based on primary registered cases in 2001-2010. It was found that despite an apparent general decrease in the number of EC patients in Kazakhstan, a potential increase should be evaluated, due to changes in aging as well as the increase in population. Some problems of EC patients' registration were broached with an emphasis on the importance of the expected absolute number and reasons for undercounting in the country. Based on these, ways of improving the recording and registration of such patients in the country were suggested.
Reliability predictions for selected electronic parts using 217-Plus have been performed in this study. 217-Plus has recently developed and may be applied for electronics failure prediction as a surrogate of MIL-HDBK-217. We first briefly reviewed 217-Plus component models. Based on three selected components, predictions using both MIL-HDBK-217 and 217-Plus have been made and the results were compared. Even though the comprehensive conclusion may be drawn from extensive component and system level analyses, the results in this study may provide general insights towards reliability through two specifications.
By using AIP(Arc Ion Plating) of a physical vapor deposition for the first time in Korea a ceramic tool whose surface is coated single layeredly with TiN is developed. In addition, cutting resistance appearing in the process of finishing cut of hardened carbon tool steel, STC3 is studied. The principal and radial components of cutting resistance in those cutting conditions appear to be the same or similar, and the feed component is relatively small. The feed component is found to be in proportion to cutting width, and the radial component in proportion to cutting thickness. Owing to coating the cutting resistance of a TiN coated ceramic tool increases compared with that of a general ceramic tool.
Determination of assembly sequence of components is a key issue in assembly operation. Although a number of articles dealing with assembly sequence determination have appeared, an efficient and general methodology for complex products has yet to appear. The objective of this paper is to present the problems and models used to generate assembly sequence from design data. An essential idea of this research is to acquire a finite number of voxels from any complex geometric entity, such as 3D planar polygons, hollow spheres, cylinders. cones, tori, etc. In order to find a feasible assembly sequence, the following four steps are needed: (1) The components composing of an assembly product are identified and then the geometric entities of each component are extracted. (2) The geometric entities extracted in the first step are translated into a number of voxels. (3) All the mating or coupling relations between components are found by considering relations between voxels. (4) The components to be disassembled are determined using CCGs (Component Coupling Graph).
Powertrain simulation is important far the analysis of a vehicle performance. Automotive powertrain has been considered as the unified system and should be remodeled, whenever a powertrain system is changed. In this study, a new method is proposed far the synthetic modeling for the automotive powertrain. Components are separated from the powertrain system and constructed the matrix through dynamic relationships. The dynamic equation of the total powertrain system can be driven from the combination of each component. In order to combine each component, the superposition method is modified for the powertrain composition.
We address the problem of Blind Source Separation(BSS) of superimposed signals in situations where one signal has constant or slowly varying intensities at some consecutive locations and at the corresponding locations the other signal has highly varying intensities. Independent Component Analysis(ICA) is a major technique for Blind Source Separation and the existing ICA algorithms fail to estimate the original intensities in the stated situation. We combine the advantages of existing sparse methods and Kernel ICA in our technique, by proposing wavelet packet based sparse decomposition of signals prior to the application of Kernel ICA. Simulations and experimental results illustrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed approach. The approach is general in the way that it can be tailored and applied to a wide range of BSS problems concerning one-dimensional signals and images(two-dimensional signals).
A fundamental tenet of CBD is that a component has a specification which describes what that component does, and how it behaves when its services are used. In general, the implementation may be written in a different programming language and execute on different technology platform, from the language and platform used by the client program. In order to implement practically the system that is designed by the Farmer model, there is need to have the ISM (Interface Specification Model) which explains specification about the functions of entities of the Farmer model, such as, entity node, aspect node and ILB/OLB. This paper suggests the transformation methodology from the concepts of the Farmer model to the mapping notions of the ISM. Also in reality, TMN agents system which is designed by the Farmer model is transformed to the ISM system design.
In a general variance component model, nonnegative quadratic estimators of the components of variance are considered which are invariant with respect to mean value translaion and have minimum bias (analogously to estimation theory of mean value parameters). Here the minimum is taken over an appropriate cone of positive semidefinite matrices, after having made a reduction by invariance. Among these estimators, which always exist the one of minimum norm is characterized. This characterization is achieved by systems of necessary and sufficient condition, and by a cone restricted pseudoinverse. In models where the decomposing covariance matrices span a commutative quadratic subspace, a representation of the considered estimator is derived that requires merely to solve an ordinary convex quadratic optimization problem. As an example, we present the two way nested classification random model. An unbiased estimator is derived for the mean squared error of any unbiased or biased estimator that is expressible as a linear combination of independent sums of squares. Further, it is shown that, for the classical balanced variance component models, this estimator is the best invariant unbiased estimator, for the variance of the ANOVA estimator and for the mean squared error of the nonnegative minimum biased estimator. As an example, the balanced two way nested classification model with ramdom effects if considered.
Gel-like compounds containing flammable solvents were prepared to use fur cleaning agents in field of innovative industries and general purposes. And experiments were conducted to improve the defects of liquified flammable solvents from the view point of safety and health hazards. Flammable solvents used in this study were several single component flammable solvents(turpentine oil, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP), d-limonene) and multi component flammable solvent(gasoline and ethanol). For gelation of flammable solvents, commercially Known as Aerosil(equation omitted) 200 fumed silica and triethanolamine(TEA) were used as gelation agent dispersant. The analyses on properties of gel-like compounds was studied by gelation and viscosity test pH test, volatility test and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) measurement. The experimental results indicate that gel-like compounds containing flammable solvents have pH stability, high viscosity, volatile organic compounds(VOC) control by the decrease of volatility and odor component generation, fluidity control etc. From the experimental values, it can be predicted that the safety in the working place is improved by manufacturing flammable solvents into gel-like compounds.
