The aim of this study is to verify the difference in the level of happiness and preparation for old age according to the general characteristics of senior welfare center attendees. The subjects of the study were 148 attendees of OO senior welfare center in Seoul and a survey was conducted from July 4 to October 7, 2016. The method of analysis was by using the SPSSWIN 18.0 program, a 5% level of significance was verified in a frequency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that first, from investigating the difference in the level of preparation for old age according to general characteristics, there was a significant difference according to age, occupation, monthly income, and physical condition but there was no significant difference according to gender and level of education. Second, as a result of observing the difference in the level of happiness according to general characteristics, although there was a significant difference according to occupation and monthly income, the difference level according to gender, age, level of education, health condition was less than a 5% level of significance. Third, from observing the correlation between the level of happiness and preparation of old age, it was found that happiness was positively correlated to preparation for old age in the following order: physical preparation for old age ((r=.576, p<.001), economic preparation for old age (r=.570, p<.001), psychological preparation for old age (r=.526, p<.001), social preparation for old age (r=.525, p<.001). It is forecasted that this study will be used as base line data for improvement of happiness and preparation for old age for the elderly according to general characteristics.
The purpose of this study was to define the relationship between the leadership style of head nurses and the burnout level of nurses by taking into consideration the factors which influence the level of burnout and which show how burnout varies according to the leadership style of lead nurses. The subjects of the survey were 355 ward nurses and their 48 head nurses working in five university hospitals in Seoul. The nurses were surveyed by means of a questionnaire from Sept. 22 though Sept. 29, 1983. The Leadership Scale devised by Fleishman, and modified by Lee, and the Burnout Scale developed by Pines et al, and adapted to the Korean situation by Peek, were used as a basis of ;his survey This researcher subjected the questionnaire to a pre-test and to an internal reliability consistency test through item analysis. For the purpose of analysis of the data, the general characteristics were set at Mean and the general characteristics of head nurses in relation to the level of burnout of nurses was analysed by the Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The relation between head nurses' general characteristics 3nd leadership style, the relation between nurses' general characteristics and level of burnout and the level of burnout of nurses according to the different style of leadership of head nurses were analysed by ANOVA. A summary of the results of the study is as follows. 1. Hypothesis:“That the burnout level of the nurse will be different according to the leadership style of the head nurse”was supported. 2. Analysis of the relationship between the head nurse's general characteristics and the leadership style of the head nurse showed that the leadership style of the head nurse was not related to age and experience as head nurse. 3. Analysis of the relationship of nurses' burnout levels to general characteristics of nurses showed statistically significant differences in burnout levels according to working departments, expected working period and reasons for selecting nursing as a profession. Also, the burnout level of nurses was negatively related to the head nurse's age and experience as a head nurse.
Purpose: This study is aimed to develope effective guidelines of R&D institute with regard to general management cost, by analyzing the management characteristics of 14 domestic R&D institutes general management costs. Methods: The bootstrapping method is applied to obtain the average general management cost of 14 R&D institute and the effective R&D institutes are presented by comparing the general management costs of R&D and the rate of inflation. Results: The results show that the average R&D general management cost of 14 R&D institutes is 3.32% and, in general, it turns out that the R&D general management costs do not reflect the inflation rate after a comparative analysis of the variation of the R&D general management costs. In addition, the results of cost-effective analysis show that only 5 R&D institutes are efficient in R&D activities. Conclusion: Applying a uniform standard of R&D general management costs although their management characteristics are different, can cause the impediment to the independence and transparency of R&D institutes. Therefore it is recommended a strict implementation with respect to the monitoring system of each R&D institute and the budget policy methods which are reflected management characteristics.
This study was done to gather the basic information needed to identify how the home nursing care needs and implementation of self care is being carried out for chronically ill patients. The subjects of the study were 294 from chronically ill patients in a general hospital, a university hospital and seven primary health care center and the data was collected by a nurses, public health nurse practioners using questionairs from July 30 to September 30, 1993. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean, and T-test, ANOVA. Our objectives were to understand basic nursing information general characteristics, implementation of self care, home nursing care needs, implementation of self care depend on general characteristics. The results of the study were as follows 1) General characteristics of subjects. The majority of subjects are female (54.8%) 66.7% of residence are fishing and agrarian villages. 20.1% of disease are neurologic system (backache, neuralgia, HIVD, C.V.A). 2) Evnironmental offord reveals high point in implementation of self care.($2.76{\pm}1.37$) 3) B.P check reveals high peroentage in home nursing care needs.(84.7%) 4) Implementation of self care depend on general characteristics reveals significantly different by $sex^{*}$, educational $level^{**}$, monthly $income^{**}$, number of $family^*$,{\;}$disease^*$, and reason of $untreatment^{**}(^*<0.05,{\;}^{**}<0.01)$. In conclusion the study requires efforts of nurse practitioners, and the support of useful resouress by government.
The purpose of this study was to identify remained real state of groves of enclosed village in human settlement circle. That was practiced in case of Chinan-Gun region which traditional elements had well been conservated. 48 village groves were found by site survey, reference and interview in Chinan-Gun region. 27 groves of 48 village groves were clarified as complementing village grove by classification of grove character. It was identified through survey that many were partially destructed by development and human use. The results of this study showed general, socio-behavioral characteristics, characteristics of forest state and vegetation structure of complementing village groves. Length, area, form, type, motive, location, relationship of those were analyzed to identify general characteristics. Facilities, human behavior and ownership of those were analyzed to identify socio-behavoral characteristics. Dominent species, appearing rate, height, width, density and biodiversity of upper trees were analyzed to identify forest state and vegetation structure. Interrelation of each factor were analiged and comparative review with previous studies was achieved.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to reduce the remake rate of dental prosthesis. We examined remake cause and major factor of dental prosthesis to determine methods for raising dental prosthesis satisfaction. Methods: Subjects included dental technicians in the metropolitan areas of the cities of Daegu and Gyeong-buk. Surveys were filled out by consenting dental technicians. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS version 19.0 for Windows. We determined frequencies and percentage, calculating means, and standard deviations, and determining statistical significance using t-tests, analysis of variance. This study identified the relationships between the hospital’s organizational pattern for nursing, the organizational characteristics perceived by nurses and their job satisfaction. The study subjects were a convenience sample of 383 staff nurses working at 10 general hospitals with more than 300 beds in Seoul. Hospitals included in the study were classified Into five organizational patterns, where nursing was organized as an independent but lower level, attached to the medical department, attached to a department supporting medicine, and various other organizational pattern. The data were collected from July 10 to August 15, 1992. The organizational characteristics as perceived by the staff nurses were measured by Park & Yoon’s Scale (1986) and job satisfaction was measured by Slavitt’s Scale (1978). The data were analyzed by percentage distribution, Pearson’s correlation, x$^2$-test, t-test, ANOVA, and ANCOVA The summarized results are as follows : 1. The proportion of independent and attached nursing organizational patterns was 35.1% and 54.9% respectively. 2. There were differences between four general characteristics of the nurses, age, experience, position and education level, and the five structural types of nursing organization(p〈.05). 3. 1) There were no relationship between the perceived organizational characteristics and general characteristics of the nurses but there was a differ once in job satisfaction according to education level of nurses in hopitals where nursing was an independent department(T=-2.24, p〈.05). 2) There were differences in the perceived organizational characteristics according to age group and experience of nurses (F=3.26, 5.41, p〈 , 05)and in job satisfaction according to the position of nurses in the independent but lower level organizational pattern (T=2.26, p〈.05). 3) There was a difference in the perceived organizational characteristics according to age group (F=3.19, p〈 .05) and in job satisfaction according to the experience of nurses where nursing was attached to the medical department (F=3.49, p〈.05). 4) There was a difference in the perceived organizational characteristics according to nursing unit (F=3.19, p〈 .05), but none between job satis-faction and general characteristics of nurses where nursing was attached to a departiment supporting medicine. 5) There were no relationships between the perceived organizational characteristics and job sat isfaction and general characteristics of nurses in the various other organizational patterns. 4. Nurses in hospitals where nursing is organizationed as an independent department perceived their organizatianal pattern more positively and had higher job satisfaction than nurses working in hospitals where nursing is part of another department. 5. There were differences between perceived organizational characteristics and job satisfaction according to the organizational patterns for nursing (F=13.52, 8.76, p=.0000). 6. There were correlations between the perceived organizational characteristics and job satisfaction of nurses working in two independent nursing departments (r=0.2180, 2351, p〈.05). In conclusion, the relationship between perceived organizational characteristics and job satisfaction was significantly correlated in the hospitals where the nursing department is independent. Perceived organizational characteristics and job satisfaction depended on whether the nursing department is independent from or attached to other departments in the hospital. For nurses job satisfaction the nursing department should be independent from other departments and at the highest level of organization in the hospital.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of company employees. The importance of the selection factors of dental clinics by demographic characteristics. Methods : The subjects of this study was 218 employees. In this study, structured were used. Results : As for perception of the importance of traffic convenience by general characteristics, the company employees who were male, who were married, who had children, who continued to work for a longer period and who were better paid placed more significance on traffic convenience among the selection factors of dental institutions, and the gaps between them and their counterparts were significant. Regarding perception of the importance of the physical environments of dental institutions by general characteristics, those who were in their 20s and in their 50s and up, who were less educated, who worked for a smaller period and who were less paid gave more weight on the importance of physical environments, and the gaps between them and their counterparts were significant. As to perception of the importance of the image of dental institutions by general characteristics, monthly pay made a significant difference to that. Concerning the external qualifications of dental personnels, they took a significantly different view according to their age and monthly pay. In relation to perception of the importance of dental service by general characteristics, the women attached more importance to dental service than the men, and the intergroup gap was significant. In regard to perception of the importance of the basic components of dental institutions by general characteristics, those who were in their 40s and up, who had children, who were better paid and who were assistant directors were significantly different from their counterparts in their opinions on the importance of the basic components of dental institutions. Conclusions : The findings of the study suggest that dental institutions should make efforts to provide patients with the best medical service to gain their confidence.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Korean lifestyle characteristics and health status and to identify the variables influencing health in Korea. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive correlational design was used to explore the lifestyle characteristics and health status of 397 Korean adults. Correlational analysis calculated the correlation between lifestyle and health status. To examine the relationship among demographic characteristics, lifestyle, and health status we used the t-test and one-way ANOVA. Stepwise multiple regression was conducted to examine the significant predictors of general health among subjects. Results: Positive correlations were seen between general health (GH) and the overall score and subscales of the Lifestyle. The stepwise regression model showed that vitality (VA), body pain (BP), nutrition, and occupation were significant variables influencing general health (GH). Conclusions: These findings provide evidence regarding the lifestyle patterns and healthstatus among Koreans. When planning intervention strategies for this population, exercise and physical activity should be principal focus areas.
The purpose of this study was to examine the implication for the return farm and rural training program through the analyzed trainees' satisfaction and general characteristics. This study polled 89 trainees who presented the Return farm and rural training program by Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Service. and the results of analysis are as follows. First, trainees' general characteristics appeared very various at an age structure, stage and type of return farm and rural. Second, the overall satisfaction level for the training program was normal but it was different according to the trainees' general characteristics, stage and type of Return farm and rural. This result was due to the unilateral training program. Consequently, it required a lot of efforts for the improvement of satisfaction through reflecting the trainees' properties in the training plan.
