Knowledge and attitudes on current selection of fats and oils were surveyed among college students and USDA extension off campus faculties. The objective of this survey was to obtain information about the nutrition knowledge and attitudes toward fats and to assess relationships between the nutrition knowledge, general attitudes toward dietary fats, and specific attitudes toward the eating of certain foods. The attitudes toward and nutrition knowledge of dietary fat sections consisted of 22 and 39 statements respectively. Avoiding red meat and eggs and avoiding fats as a flavoring were attitudes whose maintenance may require special, long-term intervention strategies. Replacing high-fat foods with low-fat foods, modification(cutting fat off any meat) and substitution were easily adopted and maintained low-fat habit. The responses to wanting to lose some weight and feeling better if increasing exercise were favorable. The attitudes toward the possible relationships between fat consumption and health were favorable. Respondents on the nutrition knowledge test attained a mean score of 129.69 and a median score of 127 our of the highest possible score of 200. Extension off campus faculties, nutrition majoring/majored subjects, and over 41-year-olds tended to have more favorable general attitudes and specific attitudes toward the consumption of certain foods and higher knowledge. Senior students had more negative general attitudes and specific attitudes, and college graduates and graduate students had more nutrition knowledge. Nutrition know-ledge was related to general attitudes toward dietary fats, but not to more specific attitudes toward the eating of certain foods. Nutrition education will not be effective in modifying the intake of dietary fats in the population because nutrition knowledge related to general attitudes toward dietary fats and general nutrition practice but not the eating of certain foods.
Purpose: This study investigated attitudes toward general elders and elders with dementia among nursing students before beginning the clinical practicum. In addition, students' characteristics differentiating the attitudes were examined. Methods: Attitudes were measured with questionnaires developed for Asian culture at the beginning week of the first semester of the junior year in two baccalaureate programs. Responses from 120 out of 121 students were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, paired t-test, ANOVA, and Scheffe test. Results: Students held negative attitudes toward both types of elders except for generosity dimension toward general elders showing a neutral attitude. Elders with dementia were evaluated more negatively than general elders in all the dimensions of vitality, generosity and flexibility. Vitality and generosity toward general elders were different according to intimacy and the degree of communication with elders. Generosity toward general elders was also different according to students' religious beliefs. Students with interest in elders/issues showed more negative attitudes of vitality and flexibility toward elders with dementia. Conclusions: Students in general had negative attitudes toward elders and more negative attitudes toward elders with dementia. We need to put more efforts into the entire nursing curriculum in order to improve attitudes toward elders with particular concern over attitudes toward elders with dementia.
In an attempt to recognize attitudes of teachers and general public toward mental health, III teachers of middle and high school and 130 general public were selected for this study from September 6, 1975 to October 18, 1975. Date were collected through "Mental Health Questionnaire"designed by Nounally. Results of the study were as follows : 1. The selected teacher group and general public group revealed almost similar altitudes toward psychotic patients, that is, positive aspects for employment problems and relationship toward other persons. 2. Both teacher group and general public group revealed the same attitudes toward neurotic patients, felt relatively more reliance on them, and showed much more positive attitudes toward neurotic patients than psychotic patients. 3. Both groups indicated that, for the security of mental health, It is best way to show him the right path and make sure that he follows it. As to mental health, most of the selective subjects consulted with psychiatrist about the problems and obtained the information through books. 4. Both teacher group and general public group identified mental illness being equal in seriousness to alcoholism or cardiac disease. In case of a close relative living in their home having mental disease, most of them responded to be glad to help him. 5. Both teacher group and general public group revealed intensively negative attitudes toward mental hospital in order of despair. danger, and filth, while positive attitudes toward psychiatrist.
This study investigated female consumers' attitudes toward the general and fashion-specific climate environments and analyzed the relations between the attitudes and the variables such as values, knowledge, and climate cognition. The data was collected from a sample of 450 women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s via quota sampling from a selfreported online survey in 2023. The measurement comprised the attitudes toward the general and fashion-specific climate environments, Rokeach's 18 terminal values, Holbrook's 8 consumer values regarding fashion products, climate environmental knowledge related to fashion, the cognition concerning the climate crisis, and several demographic variables. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and correlations were applied to the data using SPSS. As a result, two factors were determined for the attitudes toward the general and fashion-specific climate environments, respectively: social and personal. Family security, happiness, and self-respect were identified as important terminal values. Quality, efficiency, aesthetics, and ethics were considered important when the current sample group purchased fashion products. The mean score of climate environmental knowledge related to fashion was lower than neutral; however the cognition of the climate crisis was considerably high. Attitudes toward the general and fashion-specific climate environments showed positive relations with values, knowledge, and climate cognition. The results were discussed to provide some insight and suggestions to carbon neutrality and the related studies.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the relationship of assertiveness and attitudes toward nurse-physician collaboration in general hospital nurses. Methods: The subjects were 196 clinical nurses from two general hospitals in P city. Data were collected from August 1 to 30, 2014 and analyzed by SPSS 18.0 program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Sheff{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ test, and Pearson's correlation coefficients. Results: The mean scores of assertiveness and attitudes toward nurse-physician collaboration were $3.20{\pm}.42$ and $3.20{\pm}.30$, respectively. Assertiveness and attitudes toward nurse-physician collaboration according to the general characteristics showed significant differences on the numbers of advisors and job satisfaction. There was a significant positive correlation between assertiveness and attitudes toward nurse-physician collaboration. Conclusion: Based on results of this study, additional variables related to attitudes toward nurse-physician collaboration need to be identified. Educational programs to improve the attitudes toward nurse-physician collaboration should be developed.

This study aimed to explore influences of parental science attitudes and trust perceived by children on their science self-efficacy. In oder to accomplish this purpose, a quantitative research was carried out for elementary gifted and general students using correlation and multiple linear regression analysis. The results were as follows. Firstly, children's science self-efficacy was positively correlated with parental science attitudes and trust perceived by both gifted and general children. Secondly, in the case of gifted children, their science self-efficacy was meaningfully affected by mother's trust, mother's science attitudes, and father's science attitudes perceived by them in that order. On the order hand, general children's science self-efficacy meaningfully affected by mother's trust and mother's science attitudes perceived by them.
As the web advertising proliferates due to the explosive growth of Internet users, there is a research need for the consumers' general perception on the individual advertisements in the web. This research studies whether the characteristics of Internet advertising(entertainment, informativeness, purchase facilitation, irritation) influence the consumers' attitudes in the Internet environment. This is based on the fact that the web as an advertising channel is quite different from the traditional advertising channels. Twc different surveys are conducted; one is to study consumers' general responses for the Internet advertising in general, and the other is to study more specifically consumers' attitudes for the six different advertising messages(product advertising, corporate image advertising, on-line catalog, billboard, contest/game advertising and online directory of firms). Entertainment and informativeness factors are found to be positively related with the consumers' general attitudes for the web advertising, whereas purchase facilitation and irritation factors have no relationships. Also, a set of advertising strategies for the six different advertising messages are given based on the findings about the relationships between the six advertising messages and the four influencing factors.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess general population' AIDS knowledge and attitudes towards AIDS. Methods: Using a multistage area sampling and random digit dialing method, a random sample of individuals aged 19-59 years, living in 16 different area in Korea during September 2007 were interviewed by telephone. Results: In all, 1,087 respondents completed the survey. In most items, respondents displayed a fairly good degree of knowledge about AIDS. However it was lower than that in developed countries. Respondents' attitudes towards AIDS were found to be negative. The knowledge and attitudes towards AIDS were more positive for respondents who were young, educated, office worker or students, higher in income. The higher level of knowledge, the more positive attitudes towards AIDS. Conclusions: In general AIDS related knowledge was relatively low and people showed negative attitudes towards AIDS. Incorrect knowledge and lack of information on AIDS would lead to unnecessary negative attitudes and there need to be addressed by health education programs and campaigns using mass media.
Purpose. This study investigated changes in attitudes toward elders in general and elders with dementia after students finished a gerontological nursing practicum. Methods. Questionnaires developed for Asian cultures were administered pre practicum, immediately post practicum, and at 8-months follow up to 31 senior students in a baccalaureate nursing program. The 1-week practicum occurred at two adult day care centers: a center for elders with dementia and a center for elders with stroke. Repeated measures ANOVA and Bonferroni correction procedures were used to analyze data. Results. Students' evaluation of elder vitality and flexibility increased significantly at post practicum, however this increase was not sustained at follow up. Score of generosity of elders, the only positively evaluated dimension for elders in general, improved partly at post practicum. Students evaluated flexibility and generosity of elders with dementia more negatively than general elders. All of the decreased attitudes at follow up were not significantly different from those at pre practicum. Conclusions. Students had more negative attitudes toward elders with dementia. Attitudes of students in direct contact with elders with dementia were improved through the practicum regarding generosity and flexibility. However the sustainability of the immediate effect was not observed at follow up.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between clothing behaviors and general values of Che-ju college women. General values were measured by The Allport-Vernon-Lindzey Study of Value, which determines the relative prominence of six basic values. General clothing behaviors were assessed by statements dealing with interests in status symbol, fashion and practicality of clothing. Measures of attitudes toward blue jeans consists of: attitudes regarding practicality and youth symbol. In addition the possession, and frequency of wearing blue jeans were assessed. The sample consisted of 284 students in Che-ju college women, Korea. The data, collected by means of a self-administered questionnaire, were analyzed by correlations and t-tests. The results indicate that: 1) Economic value was positively related to the status symbol of clothing. 2) No correlation was found between political value and the fashion of clothing. 3) Social value was positively related to the practicality of clothing, however, no correlation was found between social value and attitudes regarding practicality of blue jeans. 4) Practicality attitudes toward blue jeans was positively related to the practicality of clothing, whereas youth symbol attitudes toward blue jeans was positively related to the fashion and the status symbol of clothing. 5) The groupth which had blue jeans had higher interest of fashion in clothing than the groupth which had no blue jeans.
