  • In this paper, we introduce and study a new class of variational inclusions, called the general variational inclusion. We prove the equivalence between the general variational inclusions, the general resolvent equations, and the fixed-point problems, using the resolvent operator technique. This equivalence is used to suggest and analyze a few iterative algorithms for solving the general variational inclusions and the general resolvent equations. Under certain conditions, the convergence analyses are also studied. The results presented in this paper generalize, improve and unify a number of recent results.

  • The Bupleuri Radix, called as "Siho" in Korea has been widely used in Korea, China, and Japan as Traditional Herbal Medicine since ancient times and currently. Although saikosaponins isolated from the Bupleuri Radix had metabolic and anti-inflammatory action, it's toxicity was not screened completely.   • The use of plastic substrates enables new applications, such as flexible display devices, and other flexible electronic devices, using low cost, rollto-roll (R2R) fabrication technologies. One of the limitations of polymeric substrate in these applications is that oxygen and moisture rapidly diffuse through the material and subsequently degrade the electro-optical devices. GE Global Research (GEGR) has developed a plastic substrate technology comprised of a superior high-heat polycarbonate (LEXAN(R)) substrate film and a unique transparent coating package that provides the ultrahigh barrier (UHB) to moisture and oxygen, chemical resistance to solvents used in device fabrications, and a high performance transparent conductor. This article describes the coating solutions for polycarbonate (LEXAN(R)) films and its compatibility with OLED device fabrication processes.

Mutual Perceptions between Nuclear Plant Employees and General Public on Nuclear Policy Communication Applying the Co-orientation Analysis Model (원자력 관련 정책 커뮤니케이션에 관한 상호인식 연구: 일반 국민과 원전 직원 간의 상호지향성 분석)

  • This study examines mutual perceptions between general public and nuclear plant employees on understanding nuclear policy communication applying the co-orientation model. The total of 414 responses were analyzed including 211 of the general public and 203 of plant employees. Results indicate that agreement between general public and plant employees is relatively high, in that general public tends to have negative evaluation to nuclear policy communication, but plant employees tends to have positive one. In terms of congruence, general public perceive that plant employees might have more positive evaluation than themselves, and nuclear plant employees perceive that general public might have more negative evaluation than themselves. Finally, in terms of accuracy, general public accurately estimate how nuclear plant employees perceive on policy communication, whereas nuclear plant employees unaccurately estimate how general public perceive on policy communication.

Could Tumor Size Be A Predictor for Papillary Thyroid Microcarcinoma: a Retrospective Cohort Study

  • Background: Central lymph node metastasis(CLNM) is common in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC). The aim of this study was to define the pathohistologic risk grading based on surgical outcomes. Materials and Methods: Statistical analysis was performed to figure out the optimal cut-off values of size in preoperative ultrasound images for defining the risk of CLNM in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma. Receiver operating characteristic curves (ROC) studies were carried out to determine the cutoff value(s) for the predictor(s). All the patients were divided into two groups according to the above size and the clinic-pathological and immunohistochemical parameters were compared to determine the significance of findings. Results: The optimal cut-off value of tumor size to predict the risk of CLNM in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma was 0.575 cm (area under the curve 0.721) according to the ROC curves. Significant differences were observed on the multifocality, extrathyroidal extension and central lymph node metastasis between two groups which were divided according to the tumor size by the cutoff values. Patients in two groups showed different positive rate and intensity of Ki67. Conclusions: The size of PTMC in ultrasound images are helpful to predict the aggressiveness of the tumors, it could be an easy predictor for PTMC prognosis and assist us to choose treatment.
