This study will examine the changing nature of housework by analyzing participation in domestic work among 30-somethings according to generational and life cycle characteristics. To this end, 2,687 men and women in their 30s were taken from the 2020 Family Status Survey data, and a latent class analysis was conducted to categorize their participation in housework. The subjects were categorized into three groups: overall non-participation (18.05%), overall participation (59.96%), and intensive cleaning participation (21.99%). Gender, employment status, family life cycle, and attitudes about gender roles were significantly related to participation in housework. Men were more likely to be in the overall non-participation group, while women were more likely to be in the overall participation group. Individuals in the pre-formative period of the family life cycle were more likely to be in the overall non-participation group, while those in the formative and expanding periods were more likely to be in the overall participation group. The results of this study suggest that gender inequality in housework is common in the younger generation; the results also show that, in the same generation, individual participation in housework differs according to family life cycle.
The purposes of this study were to examine young women's fashion and their values in South Korea in the 1970s and to explore the dynamics of how the changes in values affected fashion. Fifteen Korean women who were college students in the 1970s were interviewed. With industrialization and acculturation to Western customs in the 1970s, Korean women's fashion reflected the permeation of new ideas and behaviors into the culture. New ideas of 'pursuing a career' or 'gaining professional success' rooted in the women's movement were most important and were reflected in the prevalence of casual and comfortable styles. However, 'having a good husband and being a good wife' was also important. In addition to the transition in gender roles, Korea was fast moving from a collectivist to an individualistic society and underwent the process of melding traditional and newly-adopted values in their acculturation to the West. This study helps us better understand Korea's acculturation process through dress and the dynamics involved between fashion and value changes.
This study explored the understanding of health of people from Korea. Data were collected from a total of eighteen focus groups: Koreans (living in Korea), Korean-Australians, Korean-Americans and Australians. The data were analysed using QSR NUD*IST. The meaning of health varied among people and it was related to differences in age, culture, gender, marital status and perceived health status of individuals. However, there were several themes common to everybody. All groups included aspects of physical, mental, emotional (and spiritual), environmental and social dimensions in their definitions of health. All young single groups placed more emphasis on physical and lifestyle factors whereas mental and emotional aspects and social responsibility were more associated with health among older married groups. Young women in all cultures felt social pressure to 'look good' and the media was perceived as responsible. Men in general associated health with societal roles and social competition. Health was strongly associated with the economy and economic stability for all Korean groups reflecting the recent adverse economic situation in Korea. This information will be of value to health professionals to provide more effective health services and health promotion programs for clients of Korean ethnicity living in multicultural societies like Australia and America.
This study attempted to develop fundamental data of nursing intervention for Women's health improvement through literature review related to women's health. Women's health problems are focused in nursing because the quality of women's health influences on public health directly and indirectly. Especially women experience more stressors and mental disorders than men. This paper reviewed rationale of mental problems to understand Women's mental problems through various research paper analysis. As a result, it was found that women's mental problems as well as the health were affected by various factors and were connected with social, cultural elements closely. This result means that women are affected by social, economical, psychological states from gender unequality in this society. So to solve the women's mental problems, women have to be considered as human beings, women, mothers with multiple roles. And like Hwabyung, one of the women's mental problems related to Korean traditional culture, nursing needs to be done to solve the problem through cultural approach. To do this, nursing has to research negative effect as well as positive effect on women's mental health by modern culture which includes "Han" and traditional family culture. The multidisplinary, interdisplinary communication is important to develop nursing intervention and nursing must build a pertinent Korean women's mental health research system to improve a sociopolitical environment.

Concerning the seasonality and variety of menu, customer evaluations differed by gender. Depending on age groups, customer evaluations differed for the communicative quality of menu, the restaurant atmosphere, the employee service level, and the food taste. By the type of occupations, there were differences in customer evaluations of the communicative quality of menu, the employee service level, and tie food taste. By the education levels, there were differences in the evaluations toward the seasonality and variety of menu, the restaurant atmosphere, the employee service level, and the food taste, Finally. concerning the restaurant atmosphere and the food taste, customer evaluations differed by their income levels. Second, the employee service level, the seasonality and variety of menu, the communicative quality of menu, the restaurant atmosphere, and the food taste are predicted to significantly affect customer satisfactions, My results were consistent with this prediction except for that the communicative quality of menu did not significantly affect customer satisfactions. Regarding the role of menu-related factors in customer satisfactions, my finding implies the importance of updating the menu, providing the variety and reflecting the seasonality. This study was designed to explore fundamental bases of parental role satisfaction and child-rearing practices by comparing Korean and Yanbian Korean-Chinese mothers who share the same cultural roots but live in societies with different ideology and values. Total of 314 mothers with children aged from three to six years participated in this study:- 160 Korean mothers from two cities in Korea and 154 Korean-Chinese mothers from two cities at YanBian in China. Parental Satisfaction Questionnaires by Hyun (1994) and Child Rearing Practice Measures developed by the researchers were used to measure mothers parental role satisfaction and child rearing practices. The results showed that Korean-Chinese mothers seemed to be more satisfied with their roles as parents than Korean mothers. Additional analyses with socio-economic variables reported that both Korean and Korean-Chinese mothers satisfaction about spousal support were higher and their role conflicts were reduced when the household income was higher. Interestingly, most Korean-Chinese mothers reported to be highly satisfied with spousal support whereas only highly educated Korean mothers seemed to be satisfied with spousal support. In addition, for child-related variables, Korean and Korean-Chinese mothers' parental satisfaction were not affected by their childrens gender or age but when they thought their childrens temperament was difficult, their role-conflict tended to increase.
This study examines the effects of maternal behaviors and children's self-control ability on their subjective well-being. Data were collected from 416 fifth- and sixth-graders residing in Kwangju, Korea. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ and the hierarchical regression analysis method were employed for a statistical analysis. According to the results of the hierarchical multiple regression analysis, children's self-control ability best explained their subjective well-being. For individual factors, motivational self-control had the greatest effect on subjective well-being, followed by behavioral self-control, cognitive self-control, the level of income, gender, and the employment status, in that order. The results for effects of maternal behaviors and children's self-control ability on children's subjective well-being highlight. The important roles played by the mother and the child's self-control ability in improving the child's subjective well-being. The study contributes to the literature by providing fundamental insights into children's higher quality of life.
The consumption of animal flesh food in Ethiopia has associated with cultural practices. Meat plays pivotal and vital parts in special occasions and its cultural symbolic weight is markedly greater than that accorded to most other food. Processing and cooking of poultry is a gender based duty and has socio-cultural roles. Ethiopians are dependent on limited types of animals for meats due to the taboo associated culturally. Moreover, the consumption of meat and meat products has a very tidy association with religious beliefs, and are influenced by religions. The main religions of Ethiopia have their own peculiar doctrines of setting the feeding habits and customs of their followers. They influence meat products consumption through dictating the source animals that should be used or not be used for food, and scheduling the days of the years in periodical permeation and restriction of consumptions which in turn influences the pattern of meat consumption in the country. In Ethiopia, a cow or an ox is commonly butchered for the sole purpose of selling within the community. In special occasions, people have a cultural ceremony of slaughtering cow or ox and sharing among the group, called Kircha, which is a very common option of the people in rural area where access of meat is challenging frequently.
