In this work, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) was added into diethylenetriamine (DETA) aqueous solution for high $CO_2$ loading via phase splitting of absorbents during $CO_2$ absorption. Immiscible two phases were formed in the range of more than 30 wt% of NMP in 2 M DETA + NMP + water absorbents because of low solubility of DETA-carbamate in NMP solution. As the composition of NMP in the absorbents increased, the difference of $CO_2$ loading between each phase increased and the volume of bottom phase decreased. In $CO_2$ absorption in packed column by 2 M DETA + NMP + water absorbents, the absorption rate decreased in the range of more than 40 wt% of NMP. It is due to the increasing of mass transfer resistance in liquid film of absorbents at the high concentration of NMP. DETA + NMP + water absorbent is expected as the promising one for reducing the regeneration energy of absorbents according to volume reduction of $CO_2-rich$ phase.
The physiological and chemical investigations to explain the after-ripening processes in got green pepper fruit were carried out by treating the fruit with ethephon either alone or with phenylalanine. The studied metabolic changes in fruit during after-ripening period was carbon dioxide and oxygen concentration in interior of the pepper fruit, total carotenoid, ${\beta}-carotene$, total sugar, and free reducing sugar in pepper fruit. These metabolic changes were explained inrelation to the color enhancement judged by the color score to explain the after-ripening processes. Ethephon treatment at 500 ppm significantly accelerated color enhancement as compared to the control and further ethephon treatment increased the number by 20 percent which was not possible in control during same after-ripening period. The oxygen concentration in interior of the pepper fruit during after-ripening period was increased in control when the color score (color enhancement) increased rapidly. However, with ethephon treatment, the oxygen concentration was decreased when the color score increased. Although total and free reducing sugar content were decreased during the after-ripening period total carotenoid and ${\beta}-carotene$ content was increased by 50 and 200 percent, respectively, over control. Also the capsaicin contents was increased by 20 percent by ethephon treatment over control. Although phenylalanine treatment did not affect the capsaicin content, capsaicin content tended to be increased by phenylalanine treatment when treated with ethephon. In order to investigate the effects of substrate bias voltage on the formation of$ZnS-SiO_2$ protective film in phase change optical disk by R.F. magnetron sputtering method, thin dielectric film was formed on Si wafer and Corning glass by using ZnS(80mol%)-$SiO_2$(20mol%)t arget under argon gas. In this study, the Taguchi experimental method was applied in order to obtain optimum conditions with reduced number of experiments and to control numerous variables effectively. At the same time this method can assure the reproducibility of experiments. Optimum conditions for film formation obtained by above method were target RF power of 200 W. substrate RF power of 20 W, Ar pressure of 5 mTorr. sputtering time of 20 min.. respectively. The phase of specimen was determined by using XRD and TEM. The compositional analysis of specimen was performed by XPS test. In order to measure the thermal resistivity of deposited specimen, annealing test was carried out at $300^{\circ}C$ and $600^{\circ}C$. For the account of void fraction in thin film, the Bruggeman EMA(Effective Medium Approximation) method was applied using the optical data obtained by Spectroscopic Ellipsometry. According to the results of this work, the existence of strong interaction between bias voltage and sputtering time was confirmed for refractive index value. According to XRD and TEM analysis of specimen, the film structure formed in bias voltage resulted in more refined structures than that formed without bias voltage. But excess bias voltage resulted in grain growth in thin film. It was confirmed that the application of optimum bias voltage increased film density by reduction of void fraction of about 3.7%.

This work has studied the changes of pH in both of anodic and cathodic chambers of a divided cell due to the electrolytic split of water during the ammonia decomposition to nitrogen, and has studied the continuous decomposition characteristics of ammonia in a multi-cell stacked electrolyzer. The electrolytic decomposition of ammonia was much affected by the change of pH of ammonia solution which was caused by the water split reactions. The water split reaction occurred at pH of less than 8 in the anodic chamber with producing proton ions, and occurred at pH of more than 11 in the cathodic chamber with producing hydroxyl ions. The pH of the anodic chamber using an anion exchange membrane was sustained to be higher than that using a cation exchange membrane, which resulted in the higher decomposition of ammonia in the anodic chamber. By using the electrolytic characteristics of the divided cell, a continuous electrolyzer with a self-pH adjustment function was newly devised, where a portion of the ammonia solution from a pHadjustment tank was circulated through the cathodic chambers of the electrolyzer. It enhanced the pH of the ammonia solution fed from the pH-adjustment tank into the anodic chambers of the electrolyzer, which caused a higher decomposition yield of ammonia. And then, based on the electrolyzer, a salt-free ammonia decomposition process was suggested. In that process, ammonia solution could be continuously decomposed into the environmentally-harmless nitrogen gas up to 83%, when chloride ion was added into the ammonia solution.
In this work, we study the ion conductivity by analyzing the impedance to the high current density range that the PEMFC (Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell) is actually operated. The effect of GDL (Gas Diffusion Layer)presence on impedance was investigated indirectly by measuring hydrogen permeability. When the RH (Relative Humidity)was higher than 60% in the low current range (< $80mA/cm^2$), the moisture content of the polymer membrane was sufficient and the ion conductivity of the membrane was not influenced by the current change. However, when RH was low, ion conductivity increased due to water production as current density increased. The ion conductivity of the membrane obtained by HFR (High Frequency Resistance) in the high current region ($100{\sim}800mA/cm^2$)was compared with the measured value and simulated value. At RH 100%, both experimental and simulated values showed constant ion conductivity without being influenced by current change. At 30~70% of RH, the ionic conductivity increased with increasing current density and tended to be constant.
We have developed the Forest Carbon Sink Index on afforestation and reforestation activities, a regulation stated in article 26 of the 'Law on the maintenance and enhancement of carbon sink (Carbon Sink Law)', which took effect on March, 2013. According to the legal purpose to evaluate the performance of individual forest carbon offset projects and to compare each other at a certain point, values of the forest carbon sink index were calculated by the scoring method. Three criteria were established based on the Carbon Sink Law: 'Carbon' (real greenhouse gas reduction), 'Human' (socio-economic effect) and 'Nature' (environmental effect). Continuously, 9 indicators from the three criteria were selected by top-down approach; the adequacy of each criteria and indicators were reviewed through on-line Delphi survey; and finally weighted value of each criteria and indicators were assigned. To reflect the characteristics of the domestic forest carbon offset projects, which focus on corporate social responsibility-typed projects, we applied the score weighting method to minimize gaps among criteria and ones among indicators. After applying our newly developed forest carbon sink index to five domestic forest carbon offset projects, we could confirm that the criteria of 'Human' and 'Nature', which criteria are in relatively low weight, can play a role as an actual incentive to reduce negative socio-economic and environmental impacts. Based on performance evaluation of the five forest carbon offset project by the forest carbon sink index, the best or good performance project developers could be rewarded, and further the performance evaluation would work as an incentive to stimulate the involvement of domestic project developers in the field of forest carbon offset project.

The domestic unique research reactor, HANARO (Hi-flux Advanced Neutron Application ReactOr), has been constructed with the open-pool, the core is submerged in, for the multi-purpose neutron application. The reactor has a primary cooling system to remove the fission heat from the core and its connected fluidic systems. Since the works are required at the reactor pool top as a characteristic of the research reactor, the radiation shall be minimized with the operation of the hot water layer system to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure on the workers during work at the pool top. Moreover, the pool water management system is connected to the reactor pool to maintain the pool temperature below $50^{\circ}C$ to minimize the uprising radioactive gas or impurity from the colder pool bottom. For the efficient flow rate of the PWMS, the thermal capacity of heat exchanger is selected with 260 kW in the normal operation condition. In this paper, the modeling is formulated to figure out whether or not each pool temperature maintains below the temperature limit and the calculation results show that the designed PWMS heat exchanger has enough capacity with the design margin regardless of the reactor operation mode.
In our society, the advanced, advanced, and information industries have continued to grow and now live in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. As the industry develops, the load of the users has also increased so much that it is deepened by the energy shortage phenomenon and the construction of additional energy facilities is required. Therefore, energy plant construction work is being actively carried out in the coastal area. In particular, it is common to build a plant in the ground by filling the coast with soil in other regions, reflecting the fact that Korea is lacking in the country when constructing power plants, gas and petrochemical plants. Current domestic grounding designs are designed or constructed to suit only the use of grounding resistors based on the electrical equipment design technical standards. However, in the case of a plant facility constructed in the untested buried soil, when the lightning current and the abnormal current are inputted, the facility operator or the user due to the elevation of the ground potential is seriously exposed to the risk of electric shock disaster. In this paper, we analyze the ground resistivity of the landfilled soil and use a computer program (CDEGS) based on KS C IEC 61936-1, We analyze the contact voltage and stratification voltage and propose a grounding design optimized for plant installation.

Photoconductive poly crystalline lead oxide coated on amorphous thin film transistor (TFT) arrays is the best candidate for direct digital x-ray detector for medical imaging. Thicker films with lessening density often show lower x-ray induced charge generation and collection becomes less efficient. In this work, we present a new methodology used for the high density deposition of PbO. We investigate the structural properties of the films using X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy experiments. The film coatings of approximately $200\;{\mu}m$ thickness were deposited on $2"{\times}2"$ conductive-coated glass substrates for measurements of dark current and x-ray sensitivity. The lead oxide (PbO) films of $200\;{\mu}m$ thickness were deposited on glass substrates using a wet coating process in room temperature. The influence of post-deposition annealing on the characteristics of the lead oxide films was investigated in detail. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy have been employed to obtain information on the morphology and crystallization of the films. Also we measured dark current, x-ray sensitivity and linearity for investigation of the electrical characteristics of films. It was found that the annealing conditions strongly affect the electrical properties of the films. The x-ray induced output charges of films annealed in oxygen gas increases dramatically with increasing annealing temperatures up to $500^{\circ}C$ but then drops for higher temperature anneals. Consequently, the more we increase the annealing temperatures, the better density and film quality of the lead oxide. Analysis of this data suggests that incorporation and decomposition reactions of oxygen can be controlled to change the detection properties of the lead oxide film significantly. Post-deposition thermal annealing is also used for densely film. The PbO films that are grown by new methodology exhibit good morphology of high density structure and provide less than $10\;pA/mm^2$ dark currents as they show saturation in gain (at approximate fields of $4\;V/{\mu}m$). The ability to operate at low voltage gives adequate dark currents for most applications and allows voltage electronics designs.

Recently, many platinoid metals like platinum and ruthenium have been used as an electrode of microelectronic devices because of their low resistivity and high work-function. However the material cost of Ru is very expensive and it usually takes long initial nucleation time on SiO2 during chemical deposition. Therefore many researchers have focused on how to enhance the initial growth rate on SiO2 surface. There are two methods to deposit Ru film with atomic layer deposition (ALD); the one is thermal ALD using dilute oxygen gas as a reactant, and the other is plasma enhanced ALD (PEALD) using NH3 plasma as a reactant. Generally, the film roughness of Ru film deposited by PEALD is smoother than that deposited by thermal ALD. However, the plasma is not favorable in the application of high aspect ratio structure. In this study, we used a bis(ethylcyclopentadienyl)ruthenium [Ru(EtCp)2] as a metal organic precursor for both thermal and plasma enhanced ALDs. In order to reduce initial nucleation time, we use several methods such as Ar plasma pre-treatment for PEALD and usage of sacrificial RuO2 under layer for thermal ALD. In case of PEALD, some of surface hydroxyls were removed from SiO2 substrate during the Ar plasma treatment. And relatively high surface nitrogen concentration after first NH3 plasma exposure step in ALD process was observed with in-situ Auger electron spectroscopy (AES). This means that surface amine filled the hydroxyl removed sites by the NH3 plasma. Surface amine played a role as a reduction site but not a nucleation site. Therefore, the precursor reduction was enhanced but the adhesion property was degraded. In case of thermal ALD, a Ru film was deposited from Ru precursors on the surface of RuO2 and the RuO2 film was reduced from RuO2/SiO2 interface to Ru during the deposition. The reduction process was controlled by oxygen partial pressure in ambient. Under high oxygen partial pressure, RuO2 was deposited on RuO2/SiO2, and under medium oxygen partial pressure, RuO2 was partially reduced and oxygen concentration in RuO2 film was decreased. Under low oxygen partial pressure, finally RuO2 was disappeared and about 3% of oxygen was remained. Usually rough surface was observed with longer initial nucleation time. However, the Ru deposited with reduction of RuO2 exhibits smooth surface and was deposited quickly because the sacrificial RuO2 has no initial nucleation time on SiO2 and played a role as a buffer layer between Ru and SiO2.
