This study aims to develop the designs and patterns of yoga tops that are better adjusted to suit females in their 30s and 40s. After conducting a comparative analysis of three different popular yoga garments, one yoga top currently on the market was selected. Subsequently, a fit evaluation was conducted on Trail 1-garment α, which was developed body analysis performed based on selected yoga top C, followed by the production of the Trial 2 garment after making adjustments according to the comparative observation results. Based on these results, garment C with the longest top length was evaluated as the best. The results of the evaluation of appearance and fit conducted of Trial 1-garment α compared to those of C showed that Trial 1-garment α was superior in both evaluations. Trial 2-garment β was produced after making improvements on Trial 1-garment α and then placed under identical comparative evaluation condition as Trial 1-garment α. Results showed a significant improvement compared to Trial 1-garment α, and the Trial 2 garment with an additional arm pattern was shown to be superior in shoulder strap width stability, shoulder strap pressure, chest stability, degree of waist pressure, waist comfort, general fitting, and supportiveness.
This study aims to analyze short sleeve cycling tops from three brands for a change in garment fit and pressure depending on the static and cycling postures. To this end, it used a 3D virtual garment system to virtualize the garments. Further, a cross-section of the 3D virtual garment data was obtained, and the space length was measured in the design-X program to prove the objectivity of the 3D virtual garment. The results indicated that three brands had a large space length at the front than the back because of the bent posture in cycling. Therefore, appropriate ease was required for the waist and abdomen. Although there were various cutting lines of the bodice panel by brand, the design of the cutting lines should consider the changes in the surface to reflect the bent posture in cycling. The results of this experiment confirmed that the wrinkles present in the 3D virtual garment were reflected in the cross-section and that the space length was small in the high-stress area, as shown in red. Therefore, it was proven the stress of the 3D virtual garment could be used for 3D virtual garment evaluation.
On the basis of garment spatial configuration technology, the correlation of fabric properties and garment modeling was studied in this paper. With abundant experimental data, practical modeling and the judgment of fabric properties and physical shape, we analyzed the change rules that restricting all kinds of parameters of fabric properties and garment modeling, and discussed the relation of wavy modeling and all correlated factors of fabric properties. The result showed the basis of choosing fabric for different style garment, which would help designers choosing fabric for modeling design or structure design.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the weight of seasonal garments worn by Korean women in their daily lives and thermal insulation. We selected a total of 121 garments(13 kinds of Under garments, 51 Upper garments, 32 Lower garments, 15 Headgear, 10 Gloves Footgear) based on our previous survey using questionnaire and interview. Thermal insulation of single garment was measured with a thermal manikin. Also we measured garment weight, covering area, thickness, air permeability on the each garment(chamber air temperature: $21.5{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$, humidity: $50{\pm}5%R.H.$ air speed: 0.15m/s). The results are as follow: The very strong positive correlation(r=0.905, p<.01) was recognized between the weight of single garment and thermal insulation. The regression equation of thermal insulation can be represented as follows: Thermal Insulation(clo)=$0.03+0.0004{\times}Garment$ Weight(g)($r^2$=0.820, SEE =0.059). There are significant differences in the thermal insulation and garment weight by season and garment type(p<.05). The each garment category's thermal insulation and garment weight has as follows: Under garment(0.06clo, 89g), Blouse Shirt T-shirt(0.13clo, 200g), Cardigan Sweater Vest(0.14clo, 287g), Coat Jacket Jumper(0.41clo, 890g), Skirt(0.16clo, 276g), Trousers(0.20clo, 438g), Headgear(0.03clo, 102g), Gloves Footgear(0.03clo, 33g).

The purpose of this study was to identify the evaluative criteria for leather garment and investigate differences among the evaluative criteria of consumer groups, which were categorized by consumers' lifestyle. A questionnaire was developed and administered 475 males and females from twenties to forties living in Seoul and Daejon during August in 2001. Data were analysed by frequency, factor analysis, cluster analysis, t-test and one way-ANOVA. The results were as follows: 1. The leather garment evaluative criteria were found to have four different dimensions: a) aesthetic, b) sensory properties and quality, c) practicality, and d) symbolism. Especially, the sensory properties and quality including the weight of the leather garment, odor, and hand feel were identified as distinctive evaluative criteria for leather garment compared with general garments. 2. The leather garment evaluative criteria were used differently according to consumers' lifestyle. Consumers with a passive lifestyle tended to consider economic efficiency and practicality. The confident and active consumers with interests in their appearances tended to buy leather garment for symbolic and aesthetic reasons. 3. There were significant differences in evaluative criteria for the leather garment among demographics-gender, age, and marital status.

This study was to examine the effects of garment types on thermal insulation using a thermal manikin. cotton polyester wool silk and rayon were selected as outer wears like a blouse a skirt slacks and one-piece for this study Acetate was chosen as a lining. Brief and upper innerwear with long sleeves(cotton) were also chosen as the innerwear. The results were as follows: 1. The thermal insulation of the garment of single layer was in proportion to the covering area of garment in all types of clothing. 2. On adding the innerwear or the lining or both the thermal insulation of the each garment of single layer were showed a different trends by garment types. The thermal manikin insulations of one-piece dress adding the innerwear was higher than those of blouse-skirt suits. The thermal insulation of one-piece dress adding the innerwear and lining was lower than those of blouse-skirt suits. 3. The increasing rates of thermal insulation of multi-layered garments had different value by garment types but garment made of rayon and silk were showed very high increasing rates of thermal insulation. 4. The increasing rates of the thermal insulation of one-piece dress added the lining the innerwear or both except polyester showed the highest value and then blouse-slacks suits' turn came ound Blouse-skirt suits had the lowest the increasing rates of thermal insualition value.

Vietnam is conducting an export-led growth model and labour-intensive industries contributing majorly to the total export value. In the context of Industry 4.0, the labour-based industries are significantly affected; hence, enhancing productivity is the key measure to maintain these industries. The garment industry contributes significantly to the total export value of Vietnam. Based on meta-frontier framework, the approach of data envelopment analysis is used to measure technical efficiency of Vietnamese garment firms and the global Malmquist TFP index is utilised to identify productivity change and its components including efficiency, technology and technical gaps between different groups of firms. The data of Vietnamese garment firms from 2013 to 2018 collected from the Vietnam General Statistic Office is used in this study. The results show that: (i) The total factor productivity of Vietnamese garment firms growth, technical progress is the main contributor; (ii) The private garment sector is the leading group; (iii) There is a large technological gap among Vietnamese garment sectors. The private and FDI garment firms have experienced a growth in all components of total factor productivity change. Meanwhile, technological progress change is the main reason to constrain the productivity growth of state-owned garment firms.
A girdle is a body-shaping article of clothing. The garment pressure of the girdle is considered an indispensable factor. The purpose of this study was to identify changes in body size and distribution of garment pressure after donning the girdle. The changes of body size and garment pressure were analyzed by body types. Korean women (n=19) in their 20s participated in the experiment. Their body types were classified according to four factors: the index value(hip girth-waist girth), and waist, hip, and thigh girths. The garment pressure was measured at 12 points. The results of this study showed that the hip and thigh girths were reduced mostly after donning the girdle. These values were 2.0~2.8cm and 1.7~2.3cm, respectively. The garment pressure was high at the waist band, the hip joint, and the gluteal furrow region at the back. The subjects whose waists, thighs, or hips were well developed showed great garment pressure in the hip area, but their hip girth decreased very little. The subjects with less developed or slim thighs or hips showed a slimming effect, with moderate pressure in the hip and thigh regions. These results show that the hip and thigh can be slimmed with moderate pressure by donning a thigh-length girdle. High garment pressure is not necessary for the girdle's body shaping effect. The hip area is hard to get body slimming effect with high garment pressure. The current girdle sizing system needs to be revised in order to lower garment pressure in the hip region. The researchers suggest using 3cm size intervals rather than 6cm size intervals for hip girth.
With considerable development of comfortable and functional clothing in recent years, we need to evaluate the effects of garment pressure in daily wear on each parts of human body because the garment pressure is important to design the clothing. This study was designed to examine the effects of body postures on garment pressure on each parts of human body in the actual clothing conditions. All the data were collected from 50 volunteered subjects. The Garment pressure was measured in lune and December with 8 points CPMS clothing pressure system from scapular, upper am, elbow, under arm, front waist line, side waist line, abdomen, crista ilica, upper hip, middle hip, front thigh, back thigh, front knee and back knee. The postures of subjects were controlled with 3 positions such as standing (posture 1), sitting on the chair (posture 2), and sitting on the floor (posture 3) during measurement of clothing pressure. Clothing weights were more in men than in woman. It showed that clothing weights had no effects on the garment pressure. In this study, however, just the garment pressures on scapular and top of the hip increased significantly by clothing weight (p<. 05). Clothing horizontally pressed on scapular and top of hip but not on other parts. When subjects stood up, the garment pressure was the highest on the side waist. Especially, clothing pressure on the front waist point was lower than that of the left side waist. On the upper parts of the human body, the garment pressure of left side waist was the highest, and followed by front waist, crista ilica, and abdomen in order. When subjects were sitting on the chair, the garment pressure on the lower parts of the human body was the highest on the top of hip. When the subjects were sitting on the chair or on the floor, the surface area on their skin of hip and waist parts increased by postures. In addition, it showed that men felt more comfortable than women on higher clothing pressure level.
Apparel companies define their target customers to integrate consumers' needs into their product development processes. The sizing standards play a significant role in ready-to-wear garment business. Consumers' body build and sizes are different according to gender, age, and body type. The consumers' morphological feature of the one geographical area has changed with immigration, aging, and lifestyle change. In this study the way of defining body types in the standard garment sizing systems published in USA., UK, Germany, Japan, and Korea were compared. The results of this study show that most of the systems classified the body types by the index value. The chest-waist drop value was used for men's body type classification. Women's body types were defined by hip proportion. The hip-bust drop value was used for it. German and European garment sizing systems provide a wide range of men's body types. US men's garment sizes are developed for very conservative body type. US women's garment sizing system has had clearly defined women's body types. The Misses body types projected in the US garment sizing system had changed as women's waist girth got bigger compared to the past. In 2011 the US Misses sizes were divided into Curvy Misses size and Straight Misses size by the hip-waist drop value. The Curvy Misses sizes have smaller waist girth and larger hip girth than the Straight Misses sizes.
