Presence of soft shadow effects from an area light makes virtual scenes look more realistic. However, since computation of soft shadow effects takes a long time, acceleration methods are required to apply it to real-time 3D applications. Many researches assumed that area lights are white rectangles. We suggest a new method which renders soft shadows under the area light source having arbitrary shape and color. In order to approximate visibility test, we use a shadow mapping result near a pixel. Complexity of shadow near a pixel is used to determine degree of precision of our visibility estimation. Finally, our method can present more realistic soft shadows for the area light that have more general shape and color in real-time.
As the number of personal broadcasting contents is rapidly increasing, the demand for a service that provides highlights is growing. A highlight, a collection of interesting scenes, can improve the quality of viewing experience. In this paper, we propose a method to automatically detect highlights using only chat traffic information. We also propose evaluation methods the effectiveness of using chat traffic in highlight detection. We apply the detection algorithm to game broadcasting, which has larger audience, and demonstrate its performance.

There were three conclusions based on the results. First, the physical activity was effective for the elderly with disabilities and showed good effects on the psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains. Second, the physical activity programs of fundamental exercise skill, game and sport, and fitness exercise showed positive effects on the psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains in the elderly with disabilities. Third, the fundamental exercise skill for the psychomotor domain, the game and sport for the cognitive domain, and the fitness exercise for the affective domain were the most effective for the elderly with disabilities.
There are various problems in the process of developing the game. Especially, there is a lot of problems in testing the balance of the value of each object. This causes problems such as an increase in development cost and a delay in development time. Therefore, if there is a tool or simulator that can test the mutual value balance of each object in advance, this problem can be solved. However, currently there are few simulators, tools, and platforms that can analyze and evaluate the mutual value balance between these objects. In this paper, I designed a platform to evaluate and test the mutual value balance between these objects based on mock battle. The designed platform tests and evaluates the abilities of each object according to their attack and defense strengths. So, this reduces development costs and shortens development time.
In this study, attachment to parents of middle school students and they relate to school life stressors, and self-esteem of adolescent Internet addiction affects the aimed to clarify. The findings on gender statistics, chi-square value 9.347 corresponding to the Internet than female students at risk of addiction involves a lot, and self-esteem on the relationship between internet addiction and Kruskal-Wallis test statistic value of self-esteem to 3.868 two were negatively correlated. The school stresses and Internet gaming addiction Kruskal-Wallis test statistic values are 7.763, 3.819 correlation appeared to. Thus, self-esteem, peer relationships, teacher support programs that strengthen the relationship to develop, to deploy more concentrating on the policy implications and suggestions you have made that is meaningful to them.

One of the most important technologies today is augmented reality technology, it allows users to experience the real world using virtual objects that are combined with the real world. This technology is interesting and has become applied in many sectors such as the shopping and medicine, also it has been included in the sector of education. In the field of education, AR technology has become widely used due to its effectiveness. It has many benefits, such as arousing students' interest in learning imaginative concepts that are difficult to understand. On the other hand, studies have proven that collaborative between students increases learning opportunities by exchanging information, and this is known as Collaborative Learning. The use of multimodal creates a distinctive and interesting experience, especially for students, as it increases the interaction of users with the technologies. The research aims at developing collaborative framework for developing achievement of 6th graders through designing a framework that integrated a collaborative framework with a multimodal input "hand-gesture and touch", considering the development of an effective, fun and easy to use framework with a multimodal interaction in AR technology that was applied to reformulate the genetics and traits lesson from the science textbook for the 6th grade, the first semester, the second lesson, in an interactive manner by creating a video based on the science teachers' consultations and a puzzle game in which the game images were inserted. As well, the framework adopted the cooperative between students to solve the questions. The finding showed a significant difference between post-test and pre-test of the experimental group on the mean scores of the science course at the level of remembering, understanding, and applying. Which indicates the success of the framework, in addition to the fact that 43 students preferred to use the framework over traditional education.

Computational Thinking is an analytical thinking ability that is necessary for everyone and everywhere. The existing Computational Thinking development education provided in Practical textbooks leads to block-based programming languages from unplugged activities. Many unplugged activities focus on practicing sequential order, which may lack the learning of abstractions or automation concepts. In block-based programming languages, concepts such as coordinate planes, which are not introduced in elementary school curriculum, appear, making students feel burdened by the block-based programming language itself. In this study, a curriculum was designed for elementary student's computational thinking through game-based programming language education. The results and their effectiveness were analyzed through the beaver challenge. As a result of analyzing the pre-test and post-test scores, it was confirmed that students' computational thinking skills improved.

This study was a pilot test of serious educational game content(named Roly Poly 160) designed to enhance self-care by elderly diabetics. Roly Poly 160 was developed in eight steps (literature review, demand survey and consultation, extraction of serious content using games, development of Roly Poly 160, pretest for users, workshop for health care workers, final completion of Roly Poly 160 and user satisfaction survey of Roly Poly 160). Roly Poly 160 is intuitively structured in three modules (self-management, card games, and quiz games) that can be self-managed by the elderly and is designed based on six principles. First, we constructed an intuitive interface considering the age of users. Second, the menu was selected as the main menu for Koreans and calorie learning was made at the same time. Third, the calories and nutrients (carbohydrate, fat, protein, calcium, sodium) of selected foods are analyzed, and all test data recorded in the questionnaire chart are graphically displayed by year, month and week so that the change trends can be grasped at a glance. Fourth, necessary data were saved and output and used as educational data. Fifth, user data are made compatible and aggregated and up to 100 million members can be registered. Sixth, it is designed to be developed as a mobile app if necessary. Using Roly Poly 160, 119 diabetic patients were diagnosed with diabetes, and the satisfaction score was 4.26 out of 5. These findings indicate that Roly Poly 160 is appropriate as a diabetes self-care tool and suggests that there is a possibility to use it as a program to educate people about diabetes in public health centers, hospitals and clinics.
In this study, by both qualitative and quantitative measurement on the purpose of deriving the sensitive amusement factor. I consider the fear of horror games as "the amused fear" and analyze it, which is based on the play theory by Roger Caillois. On the basis of this, I classified the amusement fear in horror games into the 4 factors. I conducted some positive tests through the player's response in order to verify them. The test is conducted measuring the heart rate of each experimenter by cardiometer while they are playing horror games. By analyzing the video data, I gave a name to the point that the amusement fear factors are expected to influence psychologically and physiologically as the fear point. At this point, I examined if the measured heart rate makes the outstanding difference or not, when compared average heart rate with experimenter's heart rate. In addition, I also examined if there is a statistical correlation of heart rate by attaching player's subjective data through the questionnaire. Consequently, it was statistically turned out that the experimenter's heart rate which is measured rose dramatically than usual, and that there are close correlations among subjective data. I also found out that the amusement fear factor at the relevant point plays a major role in experimenter's psychological and physiological response. In this study, I could prove the horror factor as a meaning of amusement factor using both theoretical method and positive method establishing a standard set that is helpful for further production and planning of the game.
Objective: The present study aims to evaluate the visual reactions of users when they are playing games of different flow levels, and to explore the visual variables that can sensitively reflect the different flow levels. Background: The flow is defined as a psychological state where interface users feel their actions in a virtual setting identical to those in real environment. To measure the flow states of users, the questionnaire-based FSS(Flow State Scale) has mostly been used. However, this method is a qualitative test that has limits in terms of the accuracy of users' flow experiences. Therefore, more accurate methods to measure users' flow experiences are required. Method: Ten subjects participated in the experiment, where the independent variables were three games with different flow levels(puzzle games, dot drawing and coloring) and the time frame(the first and last 10 seconds in game playing), whereas the dependent variables included the pupil size and the frequency and duration of eye blinking. This study was a within-subject design. Each participant performed three types of games with different flow levels 3 times for each for 10 minutes, and their visual reactions to each game were measured. Results: The higher the flow cause the bigger pupil size(p<0.01) and the lower eye blinking frequency(p<0.1), indicating that different types of games lead to different flow levels. The pupil size during the last 10 seconds when the flow level was higher was bigger by 2.1% compared with that during the first 10 seconds in game playing(p<0.1), and the eye blinking frequency decreased by 12%(p<0.01). Conclusion: It was found out that the pupil size and the frequency and duration of eye blinking were psychophysiological indices for evaluating users' flow experiences, which could quantify the flow states users go through. The psychophysiological variables capable of measuring diverse aspects of the flow need diversifying to be applicable to precise measurement of the flow. Application: These studies are warranted for both quantitative analysis of flow levels and qualitative improvement of cyber leisure in line with development of healthy games.
